Neil Lennon say's We've rejected a 3rd offer for Hooper, brilliant news.

Believable12 Unbelievable6

He also says that Hampden doesn't suit us, as it lacks atmosphere and the supporters are too far away from the pitch! I thought Murdo Mcleod was spot on with his article and the manager should have allowed his team to do the talking on the field. I am bored with Neil's constant complaints, with regards to absolutely everything that he is not happy with. We should have won the treble this season. FACT. As regards the 3rd offer for Hooper being rejected, totally agree, fantastic news!

Please explain how you managed to get that rant in about Hampden on the back of Lennon rejecting a third bid for Hooper ? Poor . .

Agree0 Disagree0

To the nameless person above. You try being manager then losing a game the world expects you to win and not coming up with an excuse if not reason. NL tries his very best for the club and everyone associated with it, he doesn't always get it right but he is entitled to his opinion on his team after a match he prepared for. Me thinks if you are "bored" with NL comments, venture off and go abck to being an armchair fan (which I bet you are) and leave the forum for serious fans who want to love and support the club, not waffle drivle. HH throught thick and thin !

Any truth in us making an enquiry about nathan redmond

Believable1 Unbelievable9

Doubt we're after redmond. Newcastle enquired and were quoted £6million.

Birmingham are a mess, I think we could get him cheap, decent young player he would be a good addition.

Neil Lennon reveals pact with Peter Lawwell not to sell star striker

Celtic manager Neil Lennon and club chief executive Peter Lawwell have made an agreement not to sell Gary Hooper in the final hours of the transfer window.

Speculation about the striker's future has been at the forefront of transfer gossip for much of the past two weeks, with Hooper linked to Norwich City and Tottenham Hotspur amongst others.

Lennon is reportedly confident of keeping the forward at Parkhead after the window slams shut on Thursday night, and revealed that Lawwell is on the same page as him with regards keeping hold of the striker - even if they receive a late flurry of big-money bids on Thursday evening.

Norwich are reportedly preparing an £8 million bid plus add-ons, whilst former Celtic manager Martin O'Neill, now at Sunderland, is also keeping an eye on the situation.

¢ Celtic had a bid knocked back for the ˜Ghana Messi' Frank Acheampong, according to the player's club Buriram United. The Thailand-based player was on trial at Parkhead but has now joined Belgian side Anderlecht on loan, after a reported £600,000 bid from Celtic was turned down.

¢ The Parkhead club are also weighing up a move for Swedish keeper Viktor Noring. The 21-year-old, currently attached to Trelleborgs, trained at Lennoxtown yesterday and could be brought in to challenge first team ˜keepers Fraser Forster and Lukasz Zaluska. On-loan stopper Lubos Kamenar had his loan terminated earlier this month.

Sorry to say but kei kamara is a winger mainly. Norwich have a bid ready for last day reported to be 7.5m plus 2m add ons. They are just wondering if to risk it or not I guess we will all know buy Thursday night.

Tell your mate to "Behave and stop spouting utter nonesense". The CFC scouting team never stop working and will have a long list of candidates lined up IF they are called upon. Long and the short of it is this:

Hooper may go, he may not. NL said he is confident he will stay so that's fine by me. A loan signing like Jones smacks of desperation in my eyes and we are nowhere near desperate. Loan Jones on xx a week or give Watt more playing time and push Stokes for the main starting striker role.

Sorry but many will agree with me.

Agree1 Disagree2

I agree with you SB, no need to get someone as bad as jones on loan when we have stokes and watt on the fringes, if we were going to sign a striker I'd prefer a good young talent like russell to be signed. But in all honesty we will need to wait and see who goes, cause I'm sure someone else will be due out the door not sure who though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see why we would go for Jones

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't we try the same in the summer or last January?

Agree0 Disagree0

Jones would be good because we whip crosses in all day and no one headers it in

Celtic have got replacements lined up if the get an offer for Gary Hooper that matches their valuation.

A fee has been agreed with Dundee United for Johnny Russell (No bid has been made)

They will also try loan Manchester City striker John Guidetti for remainder of the season!

Both players able to play in the champions league! {Ed007's Note - John Guidetti is out with a long term knee injury, he has just been put on a special fitness regime by Man City to speed up his recovery. Why would we take an injured player on loan?}

Celtic are interested in PSG left back Siaka Tiene, we were linked with him a couple of seasons ago before signing Izaguirre, Tiene can also play left wing.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Can't see this being true I'm afraid. he is a very experienced player, while we seem to be buying only young players now, with a sell-on value. Also - he is on PSG wages, so I would be surprised if his salary requirements will fit our wage structure, where no player is earning really big money.

Ed, do you think there is any chance will will sign Charlie Austin in this window, even if hooper stays to the summer. I think he is a ready made replacement for Hooper but we may struggle to sign him come the summer if EPL clubs come in for him.

Celticthomas {Ed007's Note - No Thomas.}

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Celtic will inevitably cave in and sell Hooper, leaving no time to get anyone decent - probably just a second rate foreigner on loan.
