Celtic apparently bid £1.75m for Ivory Coast striker Vakoun Issouf Bayo. Not a great deal of first team experience. Hopefully he isn't another Amido Balde.

Hi EDs is there anything on the story that Celtic are about to table a bid for the Ivory Coast striker?
{Ed007's Note - It looks like someone's seen his name somewhere and because of the Kolo Toure link they've decided to link Celtic with him.
Galatasary have already agreed a 3.5 million fee for Vakoun Issouf Bayo and held talks with the player and his representatives so a bid of £1.75 million isn't going to throw that move off track.}

What makes you think he'd be another Balde? Very negative attitude IMO. We as fans need to chill out with the knee jerk reactions to player links. We get linked with well known players and then when it turns out to be made up the fans moan that we didn't get them and then when we're linked with cheap unknowns the fans complain that they're no good etc. Ed more often than not gives us top info so we should try and avoid swallowing all the paper talk.

Kevbhoy i agree everybody deserves a chance. Would take a punt on Lacina Traore on a free as well, although i think there is some reason why he isn't playing regarding his identity or something.

I said I hope he isn't didn't say he was. Just he's got little experience and an unknown and having his first prolific season. Balde was signed on the back on an okay season with little experience and turned out to be rubbish. Could be another Dembele too as he had little experience but it's always a gamble we've failed on many times before in terms of strikers. We've got Edouard who is raw, Weah on his way who is raw we need someone with a bit of experience at holding the ball up not another wean.
