ed if the team was fully fit what would your starting xi be barry1888 {Ed007's Note - Without knowing too much about Ambrose, I don't know whether to pick him or Rogne:

.................................Forster........
....Matthews...Rogne/Ambrose......Mulgrew......Izaguirre
.................................................................
................................Wanyama...............
.....................Brown...................Ledley......
.....Forrest................................Commons/Samaras
................................Hooper....................

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Miku instead of Hooper, I've seen miku and he's quality 12 goals in la liga in a mid table team is very good. Swansea tried to sign him but the price was at 9m! Trust me the only reason Lennon signed these guys was for the champions league. Hooper is not good enough!!

Agree1 Disagree0

I would agree Ed, though Rogne is still young (20? i think) so perhaps a season on the bench and reserves would not harm him. Saying that, I can't remember a game were he has done anything wrong.

Kayal would have gone in before Brown before his injury for me, but just doesn't seem the same guy.

Sami all day for me, with commons and James rotating.

According to the link Sebastian Boenisch is in negotiations with Celtic and Borussia Dortmund

How do you translate it?

Jungle Bhoy. {Ed007's Note - Using Google Translate I get this......

Perhaps in a few days we will witness the transfer surprises. According to the website of "Football News" Sebastian Boenisch manager, Carlos Delgado negotiations with Glasgow Celtic and Borussia Dortmund.

Boenisch few weeks ago, refused to participate in the tests at the club from Glasgow, but the matter of his transfer was revived a few days ago. Delgado, who represents the interests of Polish representative also started negotiations with the German champion.
The former Werder Bremen player is a free agent, so the zamknęciu transfer window to sign a contract.

good friends of mine are trying to raise money in memory of my son, through his foundation and the Brainstrust charity. They are running the Great North run and we were given a Celtic top and have put it on ebay. The Celtic top one is signed by the 3 in a row team.

Hey, Ed.

Just read an interview with NL, in which he said if all goes well CFC have the option to buy Miku at anytime during the loan (Similar to with Forster).

Any idea what the fee would be?

Danjam {Ed007's Note - Sorry I don't know the fee agreed but Getafe rejected a bid of 4 Million Euros from Trabzonspor last month and Swansea bid 5 Million Euros which was also rejected. The Spaniards are looking for 8-10 million Euros for Miku. I can't see the fee being lowered that far next year for him to become affordable, the club would have just sold him to either the Turks or Swansea this year rather than lose a player for less money next year without getting any use out of him for a season. I think this is more a Bellamy or Keane type loan, we will have no chance of signing him on a full time contract, the maths just doesn't add up going by what has happened over the last couple of windows.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We must be able to buy him cause I don't see how he could get #7 and just leave afterwards giving how important of a number it is. Unless he has it in his contract or it was the only way he would sign, if not then we might see him as a player that we want at the club and if he fits they might spend 6 mill for him, seeing how hard it is going to be next year for cl they may want a proven striker that knows the club to help us through. Since he seems like a high profile player without even knowing him. What you think Ed? Think they would just give a random lone signing out most famous and prestige number? Might be a way of smart buying and business price to buy in contract. {Ed007's Note - I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in what number a player wears. It is only a number and wouldn't be the first time a loan player has wore it to cash in.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The number 7 has sadly been devalued in recent years when you think of Juninho,Ljungberg and Zurawski to a certain extent. This number i believe should only go to a special player i.e Forrest,Hooper from the current squad.Brazil and Argentina have their number 10,Man Utd has 7,etc.IMO the player who wears our number 7 should be either someone very special or have shown they have earned the right to wear it.

Hail hail

Marco1888

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Think this is set up since we let Andre Blackman go out on loan to Inverness. Could push Izzaguire to play better or even out the starting 11

Agree1 Disagree0

If its who i'm thinking about did we not offer him a trial earlier in the summer? and didn't look up too much at euros.
davie

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes that was the guy who we offered a trial to. I would just sign him since he is free and should do as a temporary back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't understand Blackman loan myself, granted Ledley & Mulgrew both cover this position but they are needed where they are. We also need cover at CM.who is there out there?

Agree0 Disagree0

Was just wondering where the source is for this guy coming, cant find anything on him

Agree1 Disagree0

Remember, ledley, brown, kayal, big vic(now that we have a cb) forrest and commons are all capable of playing in cm.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know a guy that plays for stoke and they had this pole on trial and supposedly he was very good, dont know why they never signed him

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is a good player, he seems to have carried the can for the general gutless performance of the Polish team in the Euros particularly against the C.R. Sure he had a howler but so did the other 10 Polish players on the pitch and no-one seems to have acknowledged this. Also tactically they were woeful which cost the Polish coach his job. I would be very happy to see him at CP as I do believe he is decent and certainly better than the likes of Blackman at the moment. Sopot Celt

Reo Coker could do a job. Brown to be nursed most of the season " quote NL" kayal out most of last season and injured again so only leave Vic and Lesley assuming he is back fit. Mulgrew never a cm. Good at choose, lb and lm but not cm. Mccourt ok for league games but even then not a player that we need like brown who is a ball winner

I see we are in for free agent Sebastian Boenisch. The ed mentioned him ages ago I'm sure, he is a LB/LM who has played for Schalke and Werder Bremen. On the ball again ed. HH

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I remember the Ed mentioning him, to be fair I read about most of our targets on here days before they were in the papers, I stopped watching Sly because all they spouted was shit all window, not just about Celtic. At least our Ed kept us updated on what stage deals were at with clubs and agents rather than just telling people what they want to hear.

Bhoys and Ghirls.
Quite a bit of bickering going on between you all, lets leave the fighting to the The Rangers fans.

A few lessons learned from this window.

1) No point sitting watching a web site, bbc transfer window on the PC and Stv on the mobile from the minute you get in from work as everything will happen in the last hour.

2) Lennon won't sign players from the SPL. His 5th window and he has only bought stokes and taken Mulgrew on a free.

3) When we name targets they aren't coming. Boly and Henriksen named before CL qualifier but didn't sign.

4) Hearts are a laughing stock!

Believable10 Unbelievable2

You forgot to mention sevoco are a laughing stock also!

What a week:- Last Sunday we were top of the league after beating Inverness well, at their own ground the previous day - albeit with two late mistakes taking a bit of gloss off.
Wednesday sees us breeze into the CL group stages and we await famous Euro nights at Paradise against Spartak, Barca and Benfica with anticipation and excitement. Still no signings in the 'window' up until the last day amid loads of speculation and claims of imminent signings that fail to materialise.
Finally some last-minute action sees us address the centre back and striker positions we needed.
Meanwhile a mini injury crisis sees us with selection problems for a few weeks and the latest additions are in-eligible due to late completion and registration.
Start the game against Hibs well and take an early lead, but missed chances and conceding our fifth goal in four games sees us only draw the game. Likely that we will lose top spot for a bit with 2 of our rivals at home today while confusion over a free agent from Tunisia keeps supporters waiting and wondering - who, if and when?
I see a lot of comment and opinions on here, with a lot of sense and emotion; and with all this happening in just one week in the life of The Celtic, no wonder 'We just can't get enough'....

Lassad Nouioui is now a celtic player. If he is i think we've aquired 2 great strikers, a useful looking centre half and 2 solid keepers. As well as keeping the likes of big Wanyama i think it's been a great transfer window for us. We can't afford household names, faith in our scouting system bhoys and ghirls. Hail Hail, MarkySparx

Does anybody think we need to go out and get a midfielder as I don't think we have much cover in the central area as kayal is out injured most of the time and looks like broony is going to be struggling most of the season. Surely there are a few midfielderers around not with a club that could do a job. Hargreves on a pay as you play deal .

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Hargreaves signed for QPR if I'm not mistaken

kev88

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry but to say we lack cover in the central midfield area is bonkers. we needed to shed a CM or two, ki was one. weve got ledley, brown, kayal, wanyama, mulgrew can do a shift if needed, mccourt even though hes classed as a winger, the twardziks and thats not counting a possible further youth player or two. what im saying really is that well we play a 4 4 2 and only two of the 11 are CM positions with around 90 guys to get a game. so no to a new CM unless his quality is superior to kayal or ledley
ParadiseAndy

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah and now the windows shut so itd have to be on a free and u aint getting nae good guys for free, especially not better than beram or ledders
ibrahim can play centre too

Agree0 Disagree1

Whats bonkers about what the op said brown kayal and ledley are all injured wanyama got took off injured at half time and the fact you said we got mccourt shows how desperate we are for cover

Agree1 Disagree0

No I agree with the poster. If you look beyond the bodies only 4 of those (Ledley, Kayal, Brown, and Wanyama) can really be classed as CM's and really be trusted there. Yesterday shows that. 4 would be fine but I think its fair to have pretty huge fears over Browns fitness and over the last 2 seasons Kayal has been out as much as in and guess what, he's out just now. I agree no signings for the sake of it but if there's a decent CM who could cover, even on a 6 month deal I'd look at it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with both, jackson irvine looks like our cover. but em i dont think we need midfielders as we have quite a few when the money couldve been spent elsewhere i think PA was maybe suggesting from what im gathering about his talks on formation. its more a 4-5-1 these days with two wide lefts for some reason, i just dont like the way weve made a position for sammy, less of the centre mid talk, more of the striker talk. anyhow the windows shut and most free transfers are free for a reason. less of the bickering bhoys

tambhoy got my icelanders mixed up the boy siggurdson went to wolves and we where meant to be looking at him but i think finbogason went to heerenveen for 900k i will stand corrected if im wrong and russel was quoted at 2 mil, i like the look of efe and the ed covered my concerns over a loan signing of miku but as i said i want us to buy the best we can afford not for the sake of spending but to make us a better team , i think we have been let down again but will respect the opinion of those who are happy but lets remember we are all celtic supporters together and lets reign in some of the heavy posts against each other, ,,,deep river bhoy

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Some people just like to moan... i still remember pre fergus and look where we are now .enjoy the football .hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Deep River Bhoy - Totally agree mate, just because we criticise the level of investment as being an indicator of our ambition does not make us any lesser Celts, have been all of my life, will be for the rest of it, with my kids taking up the reigns, I was disappointed and like a few expressed that only to see notes like, you are one of them, what arrant nonsense - but nonetheless Lenny does not get much wrong and if these guys add real quality to our squad then I'll happily eat my words, just remember fellow bhoys, criticism is healthy Hail Hail Brendan

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree 100% with your comment we all have ideas of players we would like Celtic to sign. And I for one was convinced we would have a bit of a frenzy on Thursday and Friday.i am not saying the players we have got are noy good I don't know them to be able to call that ,but after the boy henriksen joined az I found that strange why we were linked to him all summer and never got him with two days to go in the window and with almost 21 million more or less assured to be in the bank ki/champs league. And does any one remember right after last season neil Lennon came out and said we have bid over 3 million for a player turned out it was meant to be a striker who went elsewhere who's kidding who

Agree0 Disagree0

There was a lad called Sigudarsson who went to wolves, and the boy who played for Helsingborgs was called Alfred Finnbogason and he went to Heerenveen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Deep river boy and Brendan did not think my post said anything about you's being them,if you thought i meant that i most certainly did not, I know i posted to another op who said he was thinking of giving up his ST because he did not like the signings we had made, thats what he should do because threatening to do that we are maybe better without him. You are perfectly correct deep river bhoy, we should all stick together because we support the best team in the land. C'mon the HOOPS. By the way we all get mixed up at time's, I put mine down to old age. Cheer's mate

Tambhoy, i was commenting on all the posts as a whole , i did not actually put your name forward as an example on original post , i cant rememder if was replying to your post or our posts just happened to follow each other , but i wasnt having a dig at you hope this clears things up as i am hungover and rattling and couldnt face another 20 minutes typing another reply , i will say take care as i had too many cheers last night,,,,deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Tambhoy a lot of fans have become unhappy with the signing policy over the years and the crowd is slowly dwindling its not right to say we are better off without these people because we are not some peoples opinion is we got a good profit margin this year that we may not have next year so why not invest some of it into the team and try bring these fans back ... my seat is very close to lawwell and he didnt look happy at all yesterday (could be because his latest striker was playing hide and seek ) but he didnt look too happy with the attendance either

Agree0 Disagree0

Seat close to Lawell, Sorry mate you did not leave your name, I have to disagree with you, if the guy is not happy with the signing's that's fair comment but when he threatens to cancel his ST because we did not sign who he wanted us to then that's what he should do, as i said he won't be missed. At the end of the day i am there to watch CELTIC no matter who is in the strip.

Not a rumour but can anyone tell me if the Champions League shirts that are being sold on the official site have the white back and euro numbers or is it just the sleeve badge?

MikeyBhoy88 {Ed007's Note - JB will be able to help you out when he sees this Mikey.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The white back on the strips are player issue only so the answer to your question is no mate. However the megastore at parkhead are selling player issue home tops from last season, sure to be collectors items years from now. I got one myself 25 and put it away with all my old Celtic strips

Agree0 Disagree1

I've just checked out the website and the only connection to what you are looking for is the ball patch,i don't see any refering to the actual Champ Lge tops.I think it would just be the normal tops with the patch on the sleeve.Try the Superstore or Argyle St,they usually get them to sell so they might be on sale just now so give them a call.Remember, when you buy online the money goes to Nike, not the club.We don't own the mail order side of things anymore,Nike own Kitbag.Buy in the shops and the profits are reinvested back into the club.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks mate.Tbh I would prefer the top without the white back I just wasn't sure if it was just the ball patch you got or the plain back as well. I never new that about the money going to Nike, I live in Doncaster and now I have a 4 month old ghirl I may not get up to many games for a while. But I would rather give my money to the club not Nike so the shirt can wait lol. Thanks again mate

Agree0 Disagree0

It does not really matter if you buy from the shop or onine as jb said the money from online goes to Nike but we have a deal with Nike where we get 5million a year so if don't buy online aswell this figure will drop.

It doesnt matter where you buy it all the money goes to nike its only the sales profit that the shop gets it doesnt make the slightest bit of difference to nike where its bought as long as its bought

just read a spanish article online saying that levantes' president is aware that lassad is in glasgow and believes he is signing for celtic. he also said that there could be legal ramifications if he is, as he was sure that he was their player. guess we'll find out in the morning, but i've got to say, by god, do i hate agents!

joe mccormack

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Agents are salesmen. You might not agree with them, but as long as clubs have to deal with them, they won't go away. Like any other industry, there will be half decent ones and then ones like Lassad's

BigRab

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same Agents, who have brought some of best talent to Parkhead Joe, (remember guys like Henrik and Lube were NOT scouted.) Dont tar all with the scurge we read about in the Daily Ranger. Agent 1888

Agree0 Disagree1

Henrik came to glasgow because wim jansen was an admirer and knew him from his time in holland. lubo came to celtic because jo venglos was an admirer of his talents. not really sure what point you are trying to make Agent 1888. im sure there are half decent agents, but i cant help thinking that a lot of them are only out to get the best deal for themselves. also, how many agents does a footballer need these days? cant help but think how big jock would deal with them if he was here today!

Folks, whats with all the bickering about why we havent gone out and splashed the cash?
Dont get me wrong, id love to have seen one or two quality signings brought in, but who says we havent brought in quality. Look at some of the past players the current gaffers have brought in. Big Vic is the prime example.

I dont know if the loans we have, have options to buy. What happens next season if we dont qualify for the CL? We would end up with a massive wage bill that we couldnt really afford.

With recent events, just be grateful we will still be the best/biggest team in Scotland for years to come. Transfers are done until January now and the CL group stages are done by then, so lets all just get behind our current squad and hopefully they'll do us proud!

Hail Hail

Bhig Mike

Believable8 Unbelievable2

The bickering just might have something to do with approx 21 million in = less than 1million spent and a couple of players nobody has ever heard off.PL and DD hang your heads in shame the more you get the less you spend, where does all the money go .The shame are outspending us.

DISGUSTED

Agree0 Disagree1

Your an idiot mate. Very short sighted. And of course they have outspent us, they had no players left ya clown. Oh and even after they have "outspent" us , there still isn't a single player at "The Rangers" who could get a game at Celtic. Get a grip of your life and read between the lines, this time next year we will be one of the only teams in brittain with no debt and if we get a harder draw for the Champions League then we will have the funds to support our bid to qualify.

Agree0 Disagree0

Less than 1m? if you really feel the need to moan and be negative all the time then get your facts right. We spent 2m on FF and reportedly just under 1m for Ambrose, that would be 3x as much spent as you're suggesting. And I would be very suprised if there wasnt some sort of loan fee for Miku as well.

Mikey Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard all this before about, wait and see then spend....did no one see a certain Steven Fletcher, we could have got him for 1m now just sold for 15m and he would possibly have been the player who stopped the dark side winning the league in WGS last season. And you wonder why people get annoyed .....go figure !

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon has had a few horrible signings too. Murphy, Bangura, Juarez, Ljungberg and Brozek. That mob alone wasted 6 million plus in fees and quite a bit more in wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the above poster: your calling people idiot and you can't even spell britain, who's the real idiot?,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Would suggest it's your good self that is the idiot mate I have seen all this before ,we should have added to the team at least one player that would put bums on seats and again the purse strings have been reigned in when we should be making significant strides forward the same as should have happened after the Europa Final.

Agree0 Disagree0

2 million for forester ?? another dupe by lawwell that 2 million should have been spent 2 year ago out the mcgreedy money when we needed a keeper not out this years budget if we qualify next year hell tell us we still need to pay money for peter latchford next
