Ed a question, is miku injured right now? I don't understand why he dosent get more time, my other thought was he has a clause that says if he plays so many games then we have to pay his club more. Is such a clause possible and if not what's your take on why he is not playing? {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't imagine there is any appearance clauses in his contract, they are usually only used when young players move and not in loan contracts. He is not injured at the moment as far as I know.}

Does anyone else feel that Dylan McGeouch has been unlucky not to get a start or two this season. If you think back to the Real Madrid pre-season friendly prior to getting injured he looked the pick of the bunch. Comfortable in possession, well balanced, going past the opposition with ease and very confident.

The thing I find strange is Neil Lennon intimitated the injury was a big blow to the club as well as the player. He gave the impression the player was really in his thoughts for this season. Yet there has been quite a few occasions when the first team squad has been really stretched due to injuries yet still no place for young Dylan. Why?

Believable14 Unbelievable3

I agree, he has looked really sharp in any of the games ive seen him this season. I thought that with forrest being out that dylan would get more football, but i guess not.

I think he has been injured for a while, so maybe he is just getting back to fitness. I hope to see more of him this season.

Quack

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe dylan may have even more potential than james yes james has his qualities and could become a star in the future but i think dylan would be better playing behind the striker he may develop into the type of player were in need of
MM

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the OP's post then I got to thinking that we are only just about a 1/3rd into the season. I think he will definitely get game time and a run of games before the season ends. He might get a start against Abroath at the weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see 4 or 5 of the younger players given a start on Saturday. It is the perfect opportunity.

Agree0 Disagree0

To above post..and if they got a start and a shock ended up on the cards, what would be said about them? Slated no doubt. Should play 3 youngsters from start, get game wrapped up then bring on another 3 youngsters. Would like to see dylan, tony and ibrahim get a start.

Good game last night, and just have to say I think kayal is close to bein back to his old self. For it looks like he is gearing himself up for spartark and felt like he had browns spirit out there telling he players to keep it up. Kayals work to find commons working from sideline to mid with 3-4 players around was good to see and gives confidence for the cl match. I hope kayal has his ducking out of the way from a shot out of his game lol.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Cmon mate "ducking and "out of his game"
ONCE it happened i bet bet your a bandwagon jumper that shouts at the manager when were not beating barca, get over it mate ,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Your far off k barry, Maybe you should just relax there as I was saying how kayal is back and making a joke. Why you so negative? Your probably one that say hooper is shiat and how now you love big ff and not when he started(as I have always liked him and stood up for him)

Agree0 Disagree0

Kbarry, that was just a little humorous jibe at kayal i think, no need to get your back up.

I am too hoping that this is kayal coming back to his best, and then getting even better. He has been hampered by injuries for what seem like close to a year, so i think we might be see him mature and become a better player than what he is now.

Quack

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry lads,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, kayal is on his way back...looked the part mid-week, I think he would have been back a while ago if big vic and co hadn't been playing so well. Good to see the lad back in action I'm a fan of his, hope he can stay injury free and get a good run of games under his belt.

the first year big lurch stood between the sticks , i thought he couldn't catch a cold , he looks more like a gamekeeper than a goalkeeper, i've seen every tic keeper since john fallon , ronnie simpson and all the rest . the big man has turned out to be the best of the lot and maybe ever. after nealy 50 years of watching celtic , a goalie we can trust.. shamrock

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Clever wisecracks and a good point well made. Time will tell but looks as if he does have all the attributes to be the best ever.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye would be the player I would hate to lose the most as we always seem to pick up dodgy keepers

Agree0 Disagree0

I always liked him but even I had a few doubts, the turning point for me was when he pulled off a couple of great saves against AM in the Europa. He then had a howler right after but I kept the faith and I was right to do so. I think as GK is such a specialized position it's difficult to judge whether we have a good un. Unless you have been a goalie of course. Sopot Celt

Afternoon ED007 a couple of points on last night's game.
What are your opinions now about Lassad? as I know you had doubts. Mine is he has taken a while to cope with the more physical Scottish game, but he looks a player, he has a good touch and a clever football brain, given time and kept injury free, he could be a big asset to Celtic.
Also I was surprised both Brown and Sammy were brought on last night.
Surely both should have been rested?
especially Brown. At 3-0 up we could have seen more of Miku, McGeouch and young Watt.
I hope some of these players are playing Saturday and rest some of our big
stars for Spartak Game. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - As I said last night Tim, I am waiting until the end of the season before judging either Lassad or Miku, I am still not convinced. I totally agree with you about the substitutions though, especially Brown coming on. For Saturday I would have Wanyama and Hooper in the team with Lassad and Miku starting or coming on. I would probably play Kayal as well. Use the game to allow players to work on their sharpness and as Wanyama is banned for Spartak he might as well play. Fill the rest of the team with youngsters or fringe players with Zaluska in goal. Sorry it took so long to answer mate, your post just appeared there but I see you posted it at lunchtime, mysterious!}

I agree ED007 about playing some fringe players, but with Mathews, Rogne, Izzaguirre (if fit) Kayal, Miku, Lassad, Watt, and young McGeough with 3 regulars we would still put out a strong team.
Also Lennon could ask Sally for advice on how to play wee diddy teams like Arbroath ( or then again, maybe not..)
I hope Celtic are not fooled by all this talk of unrest in Spartak team, they will give us a hard game. Pity young Forrest is not fit, as we will need to attack down the wings. Commons and our full backs must provide the width for our attackers. Also Mulgrew's passing and deliveries at free kicks etc will be vital.
Good to see Lennon is going to watch Spartak play Zenit on Friday.He will see first hand their current form. Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed i distinctly remember you slating lassad and miku when they were signed and how you suggested they were not Neil Lennons signings etc and now (early days i know) as Lassad seems to be a decent player you are now going to reserve judgement.... Exactly what a poster asked you to do at the time when they were signed only for you to shoot them down!! Not that i expect you to post this as you. {Ed007's Note -Did you even read my answer to Tim? I said I am still not convinced by them. I stand by everything I said. Perhaps you should RTFP right before jumping with a stupid comment, where have I changed my what I said? I still maintain neither of them were even close to the top of NL's wanted list in the summer and I STILL maintain that Miku will not sign for us after his loan expires. If you remember I stated why at the time, I also said then I would wait until the end of the season, you have judged them already when they have hardly kicked a ball. No wonder you didn't leave a name, I'd be embarrassed by it as well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason brown has played in the last 2 games for the last 20 is cos the docs have told its to keep him ticking over,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree i think(due to game time) miku is the worst player to wear no7 since stuart slater,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I have said it before and I will say it again. How you put up with some of these posts is beyond me. You posted answers regarding Lassad and Miku and brought to the attention of ordinary fans not in the know what really was going on at the transfer deadline. You made reasoned and reasonable argument. I watched and followed them very closely as they were of great interest. So thanks for keeping us in the loop. I cannot remember any dissing of these guys whatsoever but just a general message of dont get too excited and they are not NL preferred men. Good job Ed. Sopot Celt {Ed007's Note - Cheers mate. I don't mind people having a different opinion than me and having a debate/discussion about it SC, that's fair enough. But I won't put up with being called a liar or being two-faced about things. If I am wrong I will hold my hands up, I can't really hide from it on here can I? Unlike all the anonymous trolls.....}

Hear Hear Sopot Celt. All the eds on here do a great job.keep up the good work ed007 and hail hail

Thought there might have been more posts on here tonight about how well we performed tonight under pressure. Plenty of posts on here over the last few days about all the negatives. Think we are to quick to criticise at times. (I've done it myself at times) players & manager deserve a lot of credit after tonight. Just wonder what all you doom and gloomers think about that? Ian L

Believable14 Unbelievable9

True, When on form we know what this team can do, if they have an off day then well leave it at that coming up to the mid way point of the season hand on heart we have been brillant so far

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly right mate, far too many so called fans wanting to have a go at our club, players and manager. these people should be ashamed of themselfs because not so long ago we were all neil lennon. if they want to have a go at anything Celtic they should go and get a job as a discredited journalist at on of the red tops.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally Agree Ian i posted a couple of days ago about people needing a reality check. All round cracking performance last night. A small note of commiseration to the nextgen team u19, out of the competition last night but still plenty of positives for next season and beyond.

The Happy Turnkey

Agree0 Disagree1

The boys were well up for it tonight, Big Forster was superb again. Hope we can keep hold of this squad of players and get some more quality and move out the deadwood who are not interested in getting off the bench

Agree0 Disagree1

Because you criticise the team it does not make you a" so called supporter" it makes you a very concerned supporter,lets hope there are many more performances like last night .As for criticising the manager I personally have none other than he believes in Samaras I dont ,I wish Stokes was fit or lessad or Miku given a run.

Agree0 Disagree1

What a difference when Samaras not playing, Commons out on the left and plays early ball in for Lassad to score. This is the kind of service that Hooper has been crying out for, yet over the last few days everyone has criticised him.

Great to see Kayal getting better with each game he plays. He is the one centre midfielder we have who can put his foot on the ball and play a pass. As good as Wanyama is he can't do this and is much more effective when we are defending.

Forster made some outstanding saves, but thought he was taking it too far by leaving a gap in the wall for them to get a shot at him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do no celtic fan's want to mention the fact that at 1-0 hearts had a stone wall penalty turned down okay they missed one later in the game but noone can say they would have missed the first one if they had been given it. and forster has been great the last couple month's but people saying he is the best keeper ever to have played in scotland are wide of the mark. when you look at andy goram' stefan klos' alan mcgregor. oh and i am not a rangers's fan i am a football fan i don't follow one specific team.

i also cannot understand the critiscism of gary hooper he is an out and out goalscorer and he is still a young man he is the best striker at your club by a distance so instead of slagging him off you should be getting behind him. {Ed007's Note - Look pal, I told you the other day about trolling and how pathetic people are pretending to support other teams. If you aren't a The Rangers fan why post this on their site?

*********************************

i don't think we should be renaming ibrox it showed when newcastle changed their name that the vast majority of fan's did not like it also you see cardiff who had their colours changed and many fans have boycotted their games since.

i would be looking at the asian market if you want to make money all you need to do is snap up a promising youngster from there and asian fans would snap up rangers merchandise. we are not talking about millions and millions but it would be better doing that rather than renaming ibrox.

********************************

Notice the usage of the word 'we'... Maybe a short sabbatical from the sites will help jog your memory about who you support. Or are Celtic really just your big team?}

Agree0 Disagree0

And what's to say if Hearts did get the penalty and did score that Celtic would not have went onto win 4-1 ? When using hypothetical situations don't always assume it would have changed the outcome.

If you mean the Kayal hitting Lassad's arm, that would have been a soft penalty call.

Celtic played well last night with the right attitude, something that has been missing with focus on the CL

Well said Ed, is there no way you can put a block on these jokers on here. My post was about all the positives from last night, and its turned into a conversation about rangers or whatever they are calling themselves these days. Ian L {Ed007's Note - He has been warned Ian, if it happens again they will be blocked. The only reason I haven't blocked him/her is because compared to 99% of the BS posts from The Rangers fans he is at least having a conversation/discussion, just man up about it and join in the discussion/banter as a The Rangers fan.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Spot on ian, really was way over the top. Goram,klos & McGregor better than the wall that is big Fraser ? Yer baws r nipping wee man. UP THE ROAD ! for a young keeper who is improving all the time he will do us Celtic fans just fine now, UP THE ROAD ! AbS 1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough Ed. cheers lads for recognising credit were its due for players & Manager...Glad to see Hooper on the score sheet again. As you prob all know I'm a big Hooper fan and would love to see him commit to the club. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

The fans was right to criticise and give them the kick up the rear they needed if everyone just sat back and oh well we beat barca then we would probably dropped more points last night

Agree0 Disagree0

Afternoon,
I don't wish to criticise NL (I did that in the games leading up to Rugby Park last year) however I do have a sense of dejavu about the run we are on. I think we have performed really well in Europe (and again last night) however I think perhaps NL is going down the same path as MON? MON had his first 11 players, and regardless of fitness, stuck with them through thick and thin, rarely playing any of the other squad players. He then complained during the Seville run that he was "having to play players out of position as he could not afford to blood fringe/youngsters in any of the league cup games, as all the competitions were too important- we were 4-0 up at Clyde in the cup, and he brought on Paul Lambert as a half time sub?! I'm seeing the same things with Lennon- he probably has a "first 13" if you like, but why bring on Brown/Samaras with the game won last night? Surely that is an ideal time to get McGeogh/Watt/Twardzik/Ibrahim (or even McCourt, god help us) and get them some game time? I know we had to win the game last night but hand on heart guys, we will win the league at a canter once the champs league is out the way, and I would rather give the youngsters a go when the games actually mean something, rather than the last half dozen games of the season when the league is won. I don't wear tiredness as an appropriate excuse, however I think after the champs league games (especially the away games) they will not be so much tired as mentally fatigued. It's really hard work when you are chasing the ball for 75% of the time, and the guys won't be used to that. I think we are risking burning them out completely, and you can see that with all the niggly wee injuries that are cropping up (Ledley, Lustig, Wilson etc) that a week off would probably sort. I know we are Celtic and we have to win every game, but we lost the league (seville year) primarily because the squad were shattered come the last few games of the season and I can see the rocky results continuing unless we start rotating a bit more. The fringe guys might not be in the first 11 or 13, but if we give them a few meaningfull games, we might just see who is up for it, and save us a bit of cash in the process. If Ibrahim turns out to be a solid a player as everyone thinks he could be, we might be able to afford to give Broony the odd night off!

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought for 80 odd min celtic where playing with ten men even the commentators never mentioned hoopers name and his goal wasnt much of an effort either if you didnt read the team sheet you would never even know he was on the pitch
