Heard that Celtic are being kept in the loop over johnny Russell they will get the chance to match any offer excepted by Dundee united I really hope we get this lad am a big fan of getting good Scottish players in the hoops. Can any one shed some light on this and would fellow Tims like to see Russell at paradise next season?

It is true, but I have to wonder what celtics thinking is, why are we only going to bid for him when someone else comes in? If he's a player we are looking at it is not best to get him on board A. S. A. P rather than doing what we usually do and DRAG heels. I said it about the tonev boy, and I will say it again we won't sign tonev as we are dragging our heels hoping to get him cheaper. hope the same doesn't happen with russell as I think we CAN'T miss out on another good young scottish talent from our league.

I'd definitely be trying to sign Russel if I was gaffer. We all know he's a good young player and will surely get better with age and being on a different platform at Celtic. Celtic are actively doing so as well, they're not waiting for another club to bid. He'd be mental to turn us down for the other clubs being linked with him as well.

And yes, i'm a huge admirer of getting a good Scottish core. Look at Strachan's mould - good core of players who know what it means to play for the club and can pass that onto the other players from all over the world. Great domestic and European success under him. I see the same under Lenny. Tried to post yesterday that it seemed as if Tonev ain't signing. Like the look of the lad Balde though. Certainly got an arrogance about him! let's just hope we can milk Inter for Wanyama and bring in the European and International pedigree and experience to help the Scottish core the way Strachan did. JVoH, Gravesen, Jarosik, Naka, Sammy. All important players for us in big games. I think this summer, with some big departures on the horizon, we need to yes, continue bringing in young bargains and give them a chance, BUT bring in some proven quality.

Maybe Russell is second choice if Celtic don't get their first choice strikers, Would explain why we don't go straight in with the 1 mill quoted. mark

Do you have a source? I've checked everywhere online and cannot find his name on any Swansea rumours pages. Hope this is B. S.

He said he wanted to play for a team that played in the champions league every year! No chance of that at Swansea! I'm sure his agent will be punting him to any team that can afford him. If he wants to play for a very average English ELP team fighting just to stay in the league good luck to the boy!

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's true svcotland media feeding more LIES keep being told he wants to play C. L. Swansea?dont think he will get that. the truth will out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sly sports regional news page has said Aston Villa have bid 3.5 million for him

I think he will go to germany or spain, just move on to next target. its the name of the game some you win some you lose.

Agree0 Disagree0

Flying too birmingham tomorrow for talks with villa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga, Aston Villa and some other EPL team are also interested in signing him, but he has stated that he wants CL Football and Celtic has impressed him.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not flying anywhere to have talks with anyone tomorrow- his team is playing on sunday.

That rag the Daily Ranger had banner headlines outside newsagents saying Tonev signs for Celtic. You buy the paper and find he has NOT signed for Celtic. They should be charged under the trades description act. Typical of the poor standerd of reporting we have had to put up with for years. They even had the cheek to claim credit for " breaking the rangers story " when we all know it was the BBC

Rumours that NL is being given all the power to keep Hooper at CFC

Believable2 Unbelievable8

But the keeper says he wants to go to the EPL, to get his England spot back, poor boy, playing against Barca and co isn't good enough for him, he's no great shake bring in Given

Agree0 Disagree3

Sensible post till your mentioned Given. He's finished now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Given? Are you on drugs mate! First off are you even a Celtic fan? The Keeper as you referred to him is called Forster and he is 100 times the keeper Given is nowadays!

Agree2 Disagree0

What has THE KEEPER got to do with keeping Hooper.

Foster will stay and Hooper has his sights set on EPL he will go to a mid/lower placed EPL team. Bad move I would say as he will be fighting relegation. Stay in Scotland and play in Europe build his reputation even higher and move when 27/28 and both sides are happy. Celtic get top dollar and he is paid top dollar.

The first post and the post about forster are from different people.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love Hooper to stay. I think Forster will go. He seems to think moving will enhance his chances of an England cap. Hart is the golden boy so I can't see it to be honest.

Media sources are linking us with Guimares striker Amido Bald - 6'4'' Guinean born forward, (probably related to Bobo. ) who has played age-group football for Portugal at U18 and U20. Celtic watched the Portuguese cup final on Saturday as Guimares beat Benfica. Bald is now 22 years old. Fingers crossed.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Amidó Baldé's agent saying "Celtic confirmed that they will make an offer" & Agent owns 60% of his rights

Agree0 Disagree0

Whit fingurs croased thit he's 22?

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard he's due in Glasgow on Monday for talks

Agree1 Disagree0

Not being racist but players of African decent who are strikers have always been terrible for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

He certainly fits the bill for that big striker we are looking for 6"4", young, good in the air looks a player. There is high interest in this guy around Europe is if we do get him it will be a coupe!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aerial threat, good with his feet too. Almost one goal in two this season in a better league than ours, but I think his biggest strengths will be bringing others into the game. Watched a re-run of his cup win over Benfica and he impressed me. Get him and Sammy either side of a proven goalscorer and qualifying for CL is all in our own hands I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol 'probably related to balde'? Aye, just in the same way that everyone in Scotland with the surname Anderson are all related to one another too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mentioned balde last year and got shot down
