Why is Paddy not given the chance to play behind the main striker, he would have the luxury of no needing to defend and he could swanny about and unlock defences 10 a penny. Would probably chip in with a few goals but the assists would be many.

What do others think?
SC

Believable15 Unbelievable11

I think we need to trust the manager & coaching staff who see paddy in training day in day out. They know what his capabilities are. Paddy will be a bit part player once again this season - Ian L

Agree1 Disagree0

I think i read somewhere that lennon was looking at playing him in that role, defo think that wud be a good role for him.

Agree1 Disagree1

He's not consistent enough to be anything other than a bit part player. Personally I would have kept young McGinn !

Agree2 Disagree0

Am I the only one who think's Paddy's a luxury we can't afford. He has had plenty of chance's to prove himself but just has not done it.Sorry.
Tambhoy ( original )

Agree1 Disagree0

Paddy would be magic tucked in behind the strikers. He showed that in the role playing behind Sammi when we beat old Rangers at Ibrox. Sadly Lennon has a thing against fan's favourites - he didn't like Aiden, got rid of Boruc and Paddy is another on the list.
Anton

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't think Lennon has anything agst 'fans favourites'. McGeady wanted out, Boruc was takin the piss before he went. Tambhoy is right, Paddy is a luxury player who has had his chance and blew it. Punt him ASAP. Hbhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

I love Paddy to bits but only as a squad player. Defo does not produce as much as he needs to. And come on Mcginn geez a break, wasnt half the player Mcgeady was and was given a good chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

Paddy is a fantastic player on his day but that day does not come often enough. paddy and aiden have one big thing in common, they are both great dribblers but they dont always look up or see the pass and take one or two touches too many
MurphyBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everyone love paddy. Can't u see he's just not good enough. He can only beat players from lower SPL clubs. Can't do it against top clubs. Everyone just accept paddy is s***!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddy has yet to prove hes worth a place at all, he may be the fantastic player Celtic fans want him to be (i doubt it)but hes never shown hes worth it, in any game ive seen him play

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddy McCourt is not good enough for our first time. Squad player at best and even then he will not change a draw or defeat into a win.

Bring the guy on when we are cruising 4,5,6 nil up and he will score a belter!

Would give him a contract for life though due to his awesome song :)

Linnie88

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely if anyone plays behind the strikers it has to be Commons? Hate to say it but Paddy's not made the grade......

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddy McCourt is not a good player and should be no where nere the team, I have never understood why people love him and why he is immune to criticism, we have plenty of players who are far better than him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best dribbler and passer in our team.ppl say he never does it but hes only started 16 games for us so theven if hed playd 3 stinkers before hand.GET PADDY PLAYING LENNY FS.ats a load of crap.should have started more last year with commons being crap last yr but we all know lenny has his favs.he even better than brown in cm who couldnt lace mccourts boots yet would start evry game

just watched first half of rosenburg game to see henrickson, this is the 4th time ive watched him and i dont think he is any better than any mf players we have , i know he is only 19 but he is not the playmaker ive been reading about its nit that he is bad as he looks as he could develop but right now i dont think he is the guy to run our mf , i think he would fall into the one for the future signings if we bought him but a cf and cb are the priority now not another mf unless of course we reach cl groups and sell ki and wanyama,,, deep river bhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable6

You are Defo not a fan of this boy are you? Lol it's went quiet on him anyway like most of our transfer targets. Don't watch him for a fifth time u migh end up slipping into a coma (if he's as bad as u say he is) Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont dislike him as he does look like he will develop but right now he isnt the playmaker i thought he was meant to be , i said before he is very similar to ki in his style of play ,and he has only turned 19 , ,,,deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I have never rated Ki. Don't really see what he brings to the table. I've not really seen much of Heinricksen apart from on you tube...let's be honest anybody could look good on there. Ian L

h ed, you heard anything about us having agreed a season long loan deal with norwich for james vaughan its in the sunday people today,
davy {Ed007's Note - No Davy, first I have heard of it.}

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Someone has also posted this on the main rumour thread quoting the SUN as the source

Agree0 Disagree0

With the links between Celtic and Norwich being so strong, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if this story is true. Celtic have been after Vaughan for some time now and I suppose he could be a good addition to the team, taking the pressure off of Hooper and Stokes.

Agree0 Disagree1

If its it that rag it must be true then!! lol

Hi ed I need some help I know that hooper and commons are at argyll street Celtic shop tomoz and I also know that you need at ticket to get in. I only found out about this today and I'm wondering if I just turn up tomoz will I get a ticket and how much do they cost. Do u or anybody else know the answers to my questions
Cheers, Jack the bhoy

Believable3 Unbelievable8

This ticket nonsense is rubbish. We treat football players like gods. I can remember when players from the First team visited local Celtic Supporters Clubs on a regular basis and mingled with the fans at their annual prize givings and dances. I fear those days are gone forever PT

Agree1 Disagree0

I couldn't believe that post but just shows how the players getting away from regular folk.

Agree1 Disagree0

Having to have a ticket suggests that because its hooper and commons they must be expecting a big turnout. I met Izaguirre at the megastore and didnt need a ticket, he was a legend. Great guy and very accomodating. I think Gary Hooper is the laziest player at the club and i wouldnt walk to the bus stop down the road to see him, i always support the Celtic players no matter what but with him i have a problem at the minute. I dont know why no one else seems to see it but he has not tried a leg in any of the pre season friendlies and i can see he wants away! its written all over him. I would sell him tomorrow. Even the king of kings wasnt bigger than the club and to mention Gary Hooper in the same breath would be an insult to the great man. Aside from the gulf in class between the 2 players, Henrik even when half of europe was looking at him never got lazy or sulked. He gave everything, was brave and put his body on the line. A guy from sweden ended up a celtic man through and through. Can any of you honestly tell me Hooper will always be a fan now. I know the answer. I suppose its football nowadays and another example of what the post above is saying. they are so detached from the supporters.

I would have reserved my judgment of Hooper till after wednesday but im afraid i already know what we will get from him. He might nick a tap in or poach a goal but run his heart out or put his body on the line? with a potential move to the premiership at stake. I dont think so, infact i know he wont.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep at the game on Sat told ticket only. I also remember supporters player of the year award nites. They were brilliant, players would attend and a fair bit of money would be made for the CSC involved. Hbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold the bus here a minute. So what you are saying is Gary hooper is telling our public relations department "better make this an all ticket do as I am the mutts nutts! What aload of rubbish! Gary hooper has done a great job for us since he's been at Celtic, if an English team came in for him for 6m then good luck to him. Until that time I will support him 100%. He is the best striker at Celtic by a country mile. He is much more than just a poacher. Cast ur mind back to hoppers set up for commons against rangers......you are way off the mark here mate! Watch Hoops do the bizo on Wednesday night - Ian L

Rumour gathering pace. Kelvin Wilson had a medical & due to sign tomorrow. I for one think he would be a great signing.

Local boy & can play in this standard. Forget about before. We need to move forwards not dwell on the past. Right age knows the club knows the players.

hi, this is on the forest rumours web site . is this rubbish or is there any truth in this ??

Believable8 Unbelievable6

I certainly hope its the truth!

hoopydan

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't kelvin Wilson already playing with Celtic? Forgive my ignorance!! {Ed007's Note - It is copied from the Nottingham Forest site, it is their fans asking the question.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen this rumour on twitter all last week, it's come from Forest fans i think. I'd keep him, he's had a rough first season but he is quick can head a ball and is young. He aint gonna be on huge wages either.

I don't think he's ready to command a starting position, but Rogne could get injured in a Volvo.

Got to say Lustig impressed me against Inter, Milito is a quality player and he was hardly in the game. Maybe it's the hair cut, now he can actually see the player he's marking.

My worry is Wanyama leaving, that man looks quality at the back. Well, would you play against him?

DazzaBhoy {Ed007's Note - The rumour started because Championship clubs have been told Wilson is available Dazza.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If it is true, we aren't left with much cover in the cb position,

Agree1 Disagree0

Hes got shin splints...he'd fail a medical

Agree0 Disagree0

Given our lack of centre back cover going into a European Qualifier, this would be a MENTAL decision by Neil Lennon. Love or hate Kelvin Wilson, you have to agree that we need him right now because we're lacking badly in that department.

Agree0 Disagree0

How could he have a medical if he is injured? Well he obviously have one but it'd be pointless!!

He started we will with us but seems to lack concentration & is prone to silly mistakes, not sure if he got complacent & thought he could stroll through games or what.

If he was to leave we would need atleast 2 centrebacks coming in...........and we look no closer to signing anyone nevermind 2 for this position!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed, if Wilson is allowed to leave i'm worried. Lawell said we were self sufficient and yet no players in. If Wilson leaves we won't be progressing in both cups nevermind europe. It's a long season and we'll need four or five CB's. I'd rather buy a top notch striker to get goals than bring in defender and allow Wilson to go back to Forest!

Ed who's giving championship teams the heads up over our players?

DazzaBhoy {Ed007's Note - It was on the club's say so that teams were alerted about Wilson, his agent would be told either by the club or the player Dazza.}

Agree0 Disagree0

His injury is minor. Lennon has said he's in contention for Wendesday. I doubt he'll go tomorrow, purely becasue of the timing. That said, I've no doub he is available and I'd gladly get rid if we can get a CB in. He'sone of the worst centre halfs we've had and thats saying something. Total bombscare and for those saying he's young is he not 26?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be happy to loose Wilson, Fraser or Irvine are ready to step up from the NextGen. Twardzik, McGeouch and Watt all look ready too. I like where our great club is going. Our POTY was a kid that came through the ranks!

Step forward Charlie Mulgrew.

daily fail reporting man utd eyeing up wanyama for £8m. Can i ask how can a small french club like rennes demand £24m for mvila(who wanyama has been likened to) who from what i have seen is not as good as big vic. Its not right that big clubs offer us derogatory sums for our top players. If mvila is worth 24m the victor is worth 30m. This lad is gonna be a star and selling him for 8m would be a disgrace. Forget about the profit we will make, hold out for what hes really worth regardless if he wants to leave or not, celtic pays his wages at the end of the day. If we start holding out for big money for our better players and big clubs will soon learn to look elsewhere to poach potential stars for next to nothing.

Celticthomas

Believable15 Unbelievable5

I have been saying this exact point over and over to my mates. 100% agree with you on this mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

Me too. One of the papers saying Celtic would sell at 8m. I'd demand double.

Agree0 Disagree0

From what i have seen Wanyama is just as good if not, potentially better than M'Vila. The point is though that Rennes will not get 24m for their lad, just as Celtic won't get 30m for Wanyama. If Man Utd told me that 8m was their final offer i'd take it. The profit from this one player could eradicate the clubs debt and really shove a boot up Mr.Green's jacksie after his comments about balance sheets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said that man!

Agree0 Disagree0

They wont get 24m i agree but the will still get twice as much for him as we will for wanyama and my point is that shouldnt be the case. We should hold out for more. Sell ki for 7m and that will clear the debt. Wanyama is worth alot more than 8m and thats a fact

Just listened to Charles Green on Radio Scotland having a wee dig at
the SPL clubs. He mentioned that he thinks that Bigotry had a lot to do
with their demise. What a cheek. JK

Believable14 Unbelievable13

He was right " His team's bigotry".
Tambhoy (original )

Agree0 Disagree0

Now ho knows how every celtic fan feels like after all the wrong, im-moral and down right cheated decisions Celtic have had over the years playing the RIP them, pity behelzibud who had to receive them also

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder if he'll get done by sfa for bringing the game into disrepute? arrogant person that he is!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's merely a way of appealing for the knuckle draggers to buy season tickets & winning back the looney fringe currently siding with bampot broon ........looks like he's shot himself in the foot several times ....... to the extent that he'd be better orginizing a NATO excersise .... Ha .

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah Charles your right ,the club you have purchased is arguably the most bigoted on this earth.(check out its history as you obviously havent)

Agree0 Disagree0

Green should read the history of the club he now runs it was built on bigotry then they switched to cheating hell mend them

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2012 11:23:46
been looking at a lot of reports about wanyama on news sites and fan sites and i think its only a matter of time before bids are made so with all the repots raving about him celtic must put a minimum 20 million tag on him as almost every post said he would be the better cheaper option to mvilla and a lot said he reminded them of keane , so with mvilla estimated circa 24 million i think that is a fair starting price ,,,deep river bhoy

Believable17 Unbelievable6

100% agree with you mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

Think it's more realistic to be looking for 10mil but if we can keep him and qualify for CL group stages then we could get more next year with a few decent performances.

Agree1 Disagree0

We must make sure there's a sell on clause in any of our top players contracts if they leave!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Def looked the part yesterday and if sold would command a fee greater than Mc Geady ...12-15 mill maybe more if Man Utd and Arsenal go head to head ...Good sign if Wenger rates him ...Another season at CP would be great thou ....TTTS

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with the last post about sell on clauses

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree totally that we must try and keep him for CL (if we get in!). If he plays well in Europe, his value will soar.

Bobo Balde was at CP yesterday sounding out a move for longtime friend John Mensah. Celtic are trying to get the deal done in time for Aberdeen/Helsinki away game. JP

Believable12 Unbelievable5

Has he not signed for rosenborg ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Balde and Mensah MAY be friends, but I think someone is putting 2 & 2 together and coming up with 5, Balde is from Equatorial Guinea and Mensah is from Ghana and have never played in the same side or in the same country at the same time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when has Bobo become a football agent, huh? Isn't it their job to sound out moves for players?

Agree0 Disagree0

I loved this guy when he played for us. Great to see him again at CP. Watch out
Bobos gonna get ya. Those were the days. JK

Agree0 Disagree0

He was at CP, saw him myself, suited and booted with a simlarly attired friend, might be just watching a footie match though....

Looked fit enough to play himself, not that I am suggesting that ED

Hi ed

Any chance we could raid Pompy admist their financial harship and sign Liam Lawrence and Dave Kitson, Kitson would definently fit the bill at CP!

Codgey88

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Is Liam Lawrence any better than Brown, Forrest, Commons or even McCourt? I dont think so. Dave Kitson had one good season with Reading about 6 years ago and has done nothing since. I don't think either player brings enough to the table to be honest.

Sydney Celt

Agree1 Disagree0

Hesklepp, lawrence, ben haim? Im sure there will be more

Agree0 Disagree0

They have four senior players and im not sure any of who you just said is still at the club. they are not worth it anyway. we want better than what we have not more daryl murphys.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Hesklepp and Ben Haim, forget the rest.
