Was wondering if anyone thinks Danny Wilson of hearts would be a good summer target fir us? He is still young but defo has potential!martibhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Are u joking! He was one of them should never be allowed to sign a ex player from them

Agree1 Disagree1

No No No, He's not very good at all.

Agree1 Disagree0

Simple answer. no

Agree1 Disagree0

Stop playing Football Manager. He is guff.

In reply to first reply. Get a grip mate. We have signed a few ex oldco over the years. We are not going backwards. Moving forwards. Wilsons is not the answer but your reply is desperate and pathetic

Agree2 Disagree0

He's a Tim though isn't he? Never thought he was anything special, just saying. McGeouch used to play for them. (errrm Pressley & Miller too but they don't count)

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's not forget Alfie Conn - JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally pointless signing when we've got Marcus Fraser (excellent prospect) waiting for a chance!

Agree0 Disagree1

If danny wilson is good enough for celtic well I'm good enough for barca or real madrid. I'm nowhere near ayr utd standard as a footballer but I can clearly see danny wilson isn't the answer and never should be the answer to our problems in defence. everyone forgets he was good in his time at rangers because of 2 people. davie weir and walter smith, as soon as he went down south we seen his true potential and ability.

Wilson looked decent because he had some ability and a seasoned pro talking him through games, our coaching team would improve Wilson, I have no doubts that big Johan would make sure of that, and before the"defender that can't defend"p!ah he went to a team that were rank rotten and where everybody was more concerned about their own first team place than helping some young boy steal it off him. he ticks all the boxes-young-future sell on fee and he's a hoops fan, some Celtic fans need to remember how our club operates in the transfer market now. {Ed007's Note - So you think LFC coaches held him back, isn't it their job to improve young players? It has nothing to do with players on the park concerned about their own positions, it is about the fact he is rank rotten.
Name one LFC player that done anything to stop Wilson getting in the team other than be better quality and more reliable, remember that LFC are a club that has taken great pride throughout the years in producing their own players and promoting from within?
Whether Wilson is a CFC fan is neither here nor there, even if he owned CFC he would not be good enough, he fails to tick the most important box, ability. Or would you rather curb Marcus Fraser's progression by signing Wilson?}

Think I've found the new Wanyama guys! Junior Malanda of SV Zulte Waregem. CDM and is an absolute beast. Look him up! {Ed007's Note - I doubt we will pay the £5 million fee.}

Believable7 Unbelievable2

£5m fee? That's what was being quoted in the papers in January. Did the move materialise? Nope. Could he be a potential replacement for Wanyama? Definitely!
~seamus~ {Ed007's Note - The price in January was £3.2 million, the price that teams are being quoted for the upcoming summer is £5 million. Don't read the papers ~seamus~, they actually make things up to sell copy you know and I have no interest in what any of them have to say.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't read them Admin, just saw it online when I typed in the guy's name. He is a beast of a player though! {Ed007's Note - I've mailed someone that will know more about his current situation, I will post up any new info as soon as I get an answer. I've not seen much of him but I know he is highly rated and would probably end up making us a shedload of money if we could strike a deal for him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Admin. Would like to know more about him. Understand he's only 18 so has plenty of potential.

Celtic to perform guard of honour for League cup winners St. Mirren as the take to the field on Sunday afternoon. Nice touch.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Superb! If there was going to be any club to put us out and go on to win it I would want it to be the Buddies. ESPECIALLY against the Diet H***!

Agree1 Disagree0

Nice touch & perhaps a much-needed humbling for some of our players

Agree0 Disagree1

Excellent 'Tic! Actually enjoyed the final despite motormouth Thommo.

Wondering what peoples thoughts r on the ledley situation. I'd love him to stay but totally understand that the lure of playing and the premiership with the team he supports may be a big attraction for him and I would'nt begrudge him that if it did happen considering he's only got a year left on his contract and if he doesn't sign by the summer then its a definate that cardiff will table a bid a believe. He's been a fantastic servant 2 us. Would really love him 2 sign a new contract. Even though its all just rumours and paper talk just now was wonderng how yous felt about it

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Be happy to see him stay, great pro who always puts in a shift. Gets what our club are about as well and seems happy. Type of player you need around when bringing new players through. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

Totally agree GB. Has done a tremendous job for us. HOWEVER, decent bid and the lad wants to he would do so with my blessing. Joe, Joe Super Joe!

Agree1 Disagree0

Punt him. Too injury prone. We'll probably get about £5-6 Million for him from Cardiff Reds. And as for this 'great servant' stuff. Catch a grip of yersel. He's only been here for less than 3 seasons. Great servants are folk like Larsson, McStay and The Lisbon Lions.

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic should build there team around Ledley. Johnnybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

You can keep Ledley. He would not be welcomed back by many fans including me. He left us in the lurch without any transfer fee despite us bringing him through the ranks. Anyway if we get promoted he wouldn't be good enough.

Ok So your manager of Celtic Big PL calls you into his office and says here is 10million to spend on 3 players to strengthen the squad who would you buy realistically?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

For me it needs 2 be a striker a cb and a playmaker

Agree1 Disagree0

Russell, MacKay-Stevens and John McGinn, Three crackers. Also think about Ryan Jack at Aberdeen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Before anybody is sold i'd go for Ciaran Clark, Mackay-Steven and Johnny Russel as well. Benfica have a young CB called Miguel Vitor whose deal I think runs out in the summer. I think he'd be worth a punt.

Anyone else miss Ki at all?
Don't know about you guys but I rated the boy very highly and without him this season in the spl our perfomances at playmaking has been absolutely dreadful.
Yes we got a good offer and he wasn't a 1st team regular but we, re craving exactly what he possessed.
Young tall playmaker and could hit them all day long, kayal hasn't kicked a ball this season and to be honest I would have sold him instead, too injury prone also. Rogic is still there but I do think we need an urgent bust if 2-3.5m on someone special as the cash is there. Commons can hit them but he, s too slow and wanyama is a certainty to leave.
Would like a good young replacement in big Vic with eaqual potential and someone classy like henriksen albeit we missed out on him.
With the cl qualifiers starting early I do think we should be hitting the ground running come the start of June when the window opens.
We, ve already proved we, re masters at unearthing gems so who would you guys like to see come in?

Greenbhoy67

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Awrite greeno aye a miss ma ki ah coodnae get oot ae big eds hoose last night ahv jist shimmied doon the draino
ps whits wae the pet cemetry ootside big yin?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi, I miss Dave to, thought he was an under-rated player for us, the lad is still young, would have kept him instead of kayal

Agree1 Disagree0

Personally I would have sold any of the other midfield players excluding Joe Ledley to keep Ki. Ki was the only player we had ion the midfield with a touch of class, like Naka, Lubo when they were with us. He had the ability to keep the ball, pass the ball long or short and he chipped in with the occasional goal. When you are lucky enough to have players like that then you adapt the system to get the best out of them, to make sure they get the ball all the time. I don't think NL's tactics suited Ki which is a real shame as I think he will go on to bigger and better things. Sometimes it isn't about getting money in, sometimes its about playing football the right way. Can you imagine if he had stayed and passed on his knowledge to the young boys coming through.

Agree1 Disagree0

I personally didn't see what all the fuss was about Ki. 9 goals in 66 games isn't exactly top notch. I take it you forgot about Wanyama when mentioning class midfielders and I wouldn't mention him in the same breath of Lubo and Naka. DH

Agree0 Disagree1

Great bit of business selling Ki. I don't not really see what he brought to the table. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree1

Naka. dh, Neil Lennon scored 3 goals in 6 years haha, but he was the first name on the teamsheet all day long kos he was a fantastic player and one of the best to pull on a Celtic jersey of the role he played.
Sometimes its not just about goals, its how you get the best out of the team through a player and what extra he can bring on top of already what you have and that's exactly what ki brought. Yes I would take wanyama I front of ki any day as he has proved to us all and also chips in with goals, but ki was a class act if you ask me, wanyama ledley and brown are similar type players, more defense controlling play players if you like.
Ki was an attack minded playmaker who could pick a pass and stretch opposing defences open to create chances for other players, sad to say but when going forward no ones done it this season and that's why I would have sold kayal instead. (too injury prone)
We definetely need a replacement in of ki, s qualitys though to further our ambitions next season.

Greenbhoy67

Agree1 Disagree0

Why mention Neil Lennon. We're talking of creative mid fielders or attacking mid fielders and IMO Ki was nothing special and can never be compared to Lubo or Naka. DH

Agree1 Disagree0

GB67 my first reply wasn't to you but to the unnamed poster who said Ki was the only class player we had. I agree about the number of defensive mids we have and agree we could shed one or two. I've always said when we bought Brown from Hibs he was a great box to box player and chipped in with a few goals. I thought we had the ideal replacement for Stan but we have turned him into a more defensive midfielder. DH

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the un named poster dh. Was referring to ki being the player of recent times to contain the same skill level of Naka and lubo.
Personally if you ask me, we haven't replaced Naka or Petrov since they left.
We built a new team through mcgeadys transfer and its turned out magnificently, I do think ki was a real class act though just unlucky with opportunities.
He may not have been prolific as Naka or lubo but they all have there own specialties.
Naka (playmaker, freekick specialist)
Lubo (fantastic dribbler, could beat any man and his crossing was 2nd to none)
Ki had a very good shot, excellent passing range and accuracy but my point is I think we need to hang on to those kind of attributes those 3 players produced and I haven't seen it this season.
its most likely we, ll lose 1 or 2 big players in the summer but we CAN replace them, I just hope we leave the transfer window in the summer a stronger team than we entered it.

Just as another thought, anyone think Gabriel Tamas could do a job for us?
6ft2, 29 and a no nonsense stopper who just needs game time and I know we were after him a while back, would bring out the best in our defence as I think that's the main area we need strenghening?

Greenbhoy67

Agree0 Disagree0

I have already posted this in the past. Have a look at the 1 to 11 when we went on the long unbeaten run last season after kilmarnock and Ki started only 2 games (both against Dunfermline when we scraped wins). He then came back into the team and we started dropping points again. I know you can't blame 1 player but I don't think it is a coincidence. All those saying we should have sold Kayal instead? Can you tell me what reasonable bids we turned down? If we had been offered 6 million for him he probably would have been sold.

Heard a rumour this morning that Lenny and young Watt have had a falling out. Seems he took the huff with a coach over a comment about training. Putting two and two together you would say Gary Parker, would you pick a fight with Dolph? Since then things have been strained. ED 007 you picked anything up?. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - Watt has supposedly developed a bit of an ego and wasn't pulling his weight. Hopefully it is nothing major, most young players go through a spell where they need to be quietly reminded they need get their head down and work harder. The majority of the time it is a case of 'the wee heed ruling the big heed' in their private lives.}

ive seen we've asked for a price on the bhoy tonev, I hope we are also keeping tabs on his fellow bulgarian georgi milanov, 21, 6ft plus, attacking mid, two footed, player of the year 2012, 11 goals this season, this bhoy looks a great prospect,,,, deep river bhoy

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Is it confirmed yet? The piece I read had no direct quotes mentioning Celtic. His stats don't exactly bowl you over either. green jhedi
