Just heard Cardiff made official bid for Ledley, hope to God the club do everything they can to keep him be as big a loss as Waynama, unsung hero, don't go Joe

Believable18 Unbelievable12

29 Jul 2013 00:13:01
Absolutely, I hope we haven't just arranged Boerrigter as a replacement for Joe. Any thoughts Ed.? Andymac. {Ed007's Note - They are totally different types of players Andy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How long has Ledley got left on his contract? {Ed001's Note - it runs out next summer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2013 10:38:37
Not a chance in hell of this happening, Ledley is worth at least double the figure being bandied about.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2013 10:42:42
PLEASE keep him. Most Cardiff fans don't want him back under any circumstances for turning his back on us. Apart from the fact he's not good enough.

Redbird

Agree0 Disagree2

I would value ledelys services more than wanyamas .Get his contract sorted .
Offers stability on and off the pitch. TTTS

Cannot possibly be contemplating letting Joe leave, he was great last year and with Wanyama leaving he will be even more important this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Redbird, lol he's better than anyone you have in your midfield and that includes Capoue as he's proven nothing yet in british football. He's one of us now mate, just like Mathews he won't be going back to you lot anytime soon i'm 100% sure of that.

Agree1 Disagree0

Kelvin Wilson, Georgios Samaras, Joe Ledley, get them all sorted

Agree1 Disagree0

I just read joe putting this to bed, he wants his contract sorted at parkhead, pheeeew. 3 million though seriously? that's kinda insulting!

Darrenbhoy

How is it insulting? It's 3£million more than you paid for him. (Don't want him back anyway)

Celtic have entered negotiations with FK Austria Wien over Philipp Hosiner after a move for Alfred Finnbogason collapsed with Heerenveen's asking price too high for the Hoops.

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Be a great signing but a think Everton are looking as well.

28 Jul 2013 22:31:47
Not sure how true this is according to a website celtic have had a 500k bid accepted for millwall defender shane lowry they reckon he's being brought in to replace kelvin wilson

Time to get excited we are in for finbogasson judging by reports in holland.Take my word this boy is the real deal and would at last be a real show of ambition by the board let's hope it happens
Gally

Believable10 Unbelievable11

Be great if this is true along with the signing of derk boerrigter. I will be over the moon.

Gazdcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see this guy in the hoops next season but I just have this feeling we won't sign him. I don't think we'll go as high as Herenveen are asking for and miss out on him.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with @2, he has a phenomenal record but Heerenveen are able to hold clubs to ransom for the boy, PL will have his ceiling price and won't be extorted so I think the deal is unlikely based on this.

G93

Agree0 Disagree0

Interestingly he has just tweeted a music video of You'll never walk alone. A sign that the moves afoot?

Rumours that Celtic have contacted Heerenveen over Alfred Finnbogason but Werder Bremen had a 5m bid rejected so dear knows what kind of fee they are looking at ~ Mrs E

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Fingers crossed, would show real ambition if we pursued him

Ska Bhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

Heerenveen looking for 5 million euros which is roughly 4.3 million pounds. A deal could very much be struck.

Agree2 Disagree0

7-9 million . can't see it happening . if only . TTTS

Agree1 Disagree1

Praying the board are willing to pay around the £5m for him that will probably be required but tbh I think most of us know that the chances of PL doing this are slim, here's hoping though.

Boerrigter medical tomorrow and he should sign a three-year deal. Will be eligible to face Elfsborg if deal completed tomorrow.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Not sure if Boerrigter would be a good signing, the guy is very injury prone. We have enough players that are prone to injury without adding to it, Matthews, Kayal and Forrest to name a few.

EOJBHOY

Agree1 Disagree1

EOJBHOY, he's hardly a crock though is he? RVP was "injury prone" once upon a time. You suffer an injury or two, you get over it, that doesn't necessarily mean it's guaranteed to reoccur. I'm sure the Club doctors and physios will be able to tell if his spine is about ready to snap or not.

Agree1 Disagree0

Jim the tim, I never said the guy was a crock, Boerrigter has been plagued with a back injury that has kept out the team for most of 11/12 season, and for me that is too much of a risk if we are planning on spending between £2 - £3 million pound on a player.

Kevin Doyle medical 2mo, good work rate but doesn't score enough for a striker, would love to see us get Finnish lad & think Ricky lambert would be great signing even on loan as Southampton spending mega bucks on a striker

Believable6 Unbelievable13

Sincerely hope you're talking crap Doyle is not Celtic class we can do much better

Agree3 Disagree0

Kevin doyle please no he's no better than lassad or Michu we need a goalscorer how about he guy from Real Betis molina he's a player.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wolves have said no offers have been made yet. Keep your hopes up lads!

NE Gooner

Agree2 Disagree0

We have a chance of putting ourselves light years away domestically from any rivals alive or dead, Doyle does not fit the transfer policy, without breaking the bank, a John park scouted striker would do me. Hopeful he's done his work and inroads are being made to find us one at an affordable price .
Balde is as Lenny says Raw. Have not been convinced at all with him, first touch poor, hopefully a player emerges,

According to a report from the Netherlands Boerrigter of Ajax is definitely on his way. Nice spot Bond!. green jhedi

Believable14 Unbelievable4

According to wikipedia (i know not the most reliable) but it says he plays for Celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he's intended to be a winger! And still a striker on the way the article said to playing more central but is that up front or cam?

Agree0 Disagree0

Shout Ed. NL hinted it may be a winger we sign. He's still got goals in him though he's a player I've seen a bit of and should walk into the side. Give us a finisher now please Peter, and a centre mid if you're feeling generous.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance just got a call up for holland squad PL will never spend the money needed to bring him here

Agree0 Disagree3

Reports on another site he will sign for 3.5 million euros whatever that is in the pound, they are labelling him as sicknote the say he has had back problems in the past he looks good to be honest still think we need a striker bal1986

Agree1 Disagree0

Really don't think me need to waste money on a winger. we have Forrest, Sammy can play wide as does Commons. Need a replacement for Hooper and Wanyama. Simples. Darren

Agree1 Disagree0

And that is good news, but I would like to see Samaras and Wilson both sign 3 year deals both have 1 year left.

Agree1 Disagree0

59 goals in 212 games who scouted him because he hasn't played much due to constant back injuries. {Ed007's Note -

2006–07 Haarlem 9
2007–08 FC Zwolle 36
2008–09 32
2009–10 RKC Waalwijk 32
2010–11 38
2011–12 Ajax 23
2012–13 43

So twice in 7 full seasons he has played less than 30 games and one of them was his debut season as a 20yr old player and the other was his first season at a club like Ajax.
Hardly constant injuries is it.
Some fans just want to moan for the sake of moaning and are never happy.}

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed. the 43 against last season is the most significant I would think.He looks very pacy direct and can deliver a cross from what I've seen which is admittedly limited. Can't think of many better places to go for players than Ajax though. Andybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

07.11.2011 to 18.11.2011 back injury. 2days later till 02.04.2012 back injury. 30.04.2012 to 25.06.2012 back injury so no a won't be happy if we sign a player for 3.5m and injury prone. played 43games last season 36 where as substitute. {Ed007's Note - How long was Scott Brown in and out the team with the same injury? Commons practically missed an entire season as well. Are they classed as injury prone as well? How long was Henke out before going to Barca and Man Utd? You are worrying about an injury he had over a year ago.
I don't see you mentioning the hat-trick he scored in a pre-season game two weeks ago, or the fact that we have signed a player from one of Europe's elite clubs. He will probably be one of the most technically gifted players in Scotland with his pedigree.
Weren't we all screaming out for a flair player, someone to put bums on seats. You do know footballers go through a medical before signing for a club, don't you?}

Agree1 Disagree0

Didn't Scott brown and kriss commons go thru a medical don't you know. we can't have another big money earner on the side lines so hears hoping he remains injury free. {Ed007's Note - And Scott Brown and Commons passed their medical, what a pointless thing to say??? Look up RVP's injury problems while he was at Arsenal. Would you moan about that if we signed him?
If there is an underlying problem with Boerrigter's back then it will show up, it's then up to the club to sign him or call the deal off (a la John Hartson). Try looking on the bright-side of things for a change, hasn't PL went out and done what the fans wanted? }

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly ed efforts are being made let's just see how the boy turns out no need for everyone to complain about a player they don't know we'll enough to judge

{Ed007's Note - Derk Boerrigter of Ajax is another player that Peter Lawwell was possibly watching last night......}

Believable14 Unbelievable3

I wouldn't have thought a winger was the priority! We need a goal scorer and pronto ~ Mrs E

Agree1 Disagree0

Would Peter lawell be watching players would it not be a scout . {Ed007's Note - Not if it is at the negotiating stage.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the stuff Ed, giving us some of the gossip rather than just knowing so much about every player people mention.I'm not meaning that like you don't know your stuff by the way big man, I love this site but why don't you have an app {Ed007's Note - LOL I do my best ffs!! :-) I don't mention players too often simply because if it doesn't happen it it's not worth the grief. CFC (like most clubs) have people watching dozens of games a week and keep tabs on loads of players. Transfer negotiations aren't easy and can collapse at anytime up until the contract is actually signed.
I think an app is in the pipeline but the technical side isn't something I take much to do with, I'm glad you like the site though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

After hearing this fella has bad back problems and been out a few times with it, he has been jumping from club to club in holland, has only 10 months left on his contract and we want to pay 3.5 for this fella.

Gazdcelt

Agree1 Disagree0

Hope we are signing this winger think he would be a great signing but also heard we are after a young Fischer as well but doubt that ones true

Agree0 Disagree1

According to a Dutch website, Celtic have completed the €3.5 million signing of Ajax winger Derk Boerrigter.
Boerrigter, 26 years old, played 45 games for Ajaxx scoring 12 goals between 2011-2013.
Boerrigter is poised to pen a 3-year deal at Celtic Park, provided the Dutchman passes a medical.
Should the deal come to completion, naysayers will claim that Celtic have signed a dud. Boerrigter carries the terrible reputation of being, at best, and impact sub who is injured more than half the time.
Boerrigter has suffered from back problems in the past few seasons, and some doubt whether the winger (who doesn’t like to defend too much) can cut it at the higher levels of European football. That said, in the SPL, Boerrigter should score a hatful of goals.
Derk Boerrigter scored 5 and chalked up 4 assists last season for Ajax, starting just 17 times.
Found this on the net.

Folks,

Leading on from my post yesterday Celtic are interested in Leigh Griffiths (spelling) Billy Mckay (ICT) and yhe Rudnev story is not going away. Maybe its all crap but I brlieve there is an element of truth in all these players as potential targets.

Ed just read an article on sports direct news saying Peter lawwell was at the Dutch supercup watching viktor Fischer from Ajax! Amazing if true! You heard anything ed bud? Gandalf the green {Ed007's Note - He has said he doesn't want to leave Ajax. It would be a quality signing but most of Europe's moneywise big-hitters would be more than interested if he was available.
Maybe 22y.o. Johann Berg Gudmundsson from AZ is a more realistic target..... He can play as a striker or on either wing and he is out of contract next summer.}

Ed and fellow Celts, I've been told to expect an ex forces of darkness player to come in. Defender?
as for a striker an unknown will be brought in to fill hoopers boots at the cost of 1.4 million euros, biscuit tin mentality.

Ed do you think Kelvin Wilson will leave in this window? I've read a couple of articles that have said that he is homesick

LM67 {Ed007's Note - His homesickness has been an 'issue' since he came up here while his family remained in England. Notts Forest know the price they will have to pay if they want him.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

I also believe Wilson will be home this week.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he's home sick from the midlands to glasgow he ain't worth a fight get tae.fack al geri.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I'm sure I read an interview with Kelv and he said that his family issues had been worked out and they were now settled. I gathered from that they were here in Glasgow. He sent out the right kind of signals ie. no intentions of leaving, enjoying his football etc. I think he would be a miss tbh although I never would've said that a year ago.

Celtic have dropped their interest in Alfred Finnbogason after Heerenveen's asking price was out of the club's range. The Dutch outfit are reported of pricing their star striker at 10 million, roughly £8.6 million.

Believable11 Unbelievable9
