is there any word coming out of Celtic park of any potential signings in or out before Tuesday 12 o'clock deadline. With papers and online chat saying that there is no in comings do u think that it's a case of the board not backing BR or is it simply the players not being there to get? I would like to think that we would be able to get in one player at least. For instance a number 10 as BR wanted in the summer surely with the money and the time we've had since the summer that a player would've been identified and been able for this window.

See we have been linked with Uganda CB Murushid Jjuuko of Tanzanias Simba, 22 years of age 22 caps, missed the opener against Ghana due to suspension but apparently played brilliant in final two group games, BR and the Scouts seem to be very focused on the cheaper African market.
Also read some tragic news that him and his wife suffered the loss of all 3 triplets born prematurely in late December 2016 just before he set off for International duty for the cranes.
To put in such focused performances on the international stage after such devastating circumstances seems a right testament to the lad.

Anybody hearing any other rumours?

Tragic for the player.

I really don't like us signing players from the African market due to the timing of the African Nations Cup. Wanyama was ok because Kenya were so bad they didn't make the tournament but I would expect to be losing Eboue to the next tournament.

If we do decide to shop in that market we could end up losing 3/ 4/ 5 of the squad all at once and it could disrupt the team.

With winter break now they would only miss a couple of games. Uganda are out already and don't usually qualify so shouldn't be an issue in the future. This type of signing wouldn't bother me if it added real quality.

{Ed007's Note - And while the rest of the players are resting up and relaxing in Dubai our players are playing yet more games in searing heat and humidity and then will more than likely need time to recuperate when they return - not to mention the risk of injury while playing in the AFCON.
I'm not saying it's a major problem but it's definitely something we should remain aware of along with the work-permit regs.}

I know efe was such a loss when he went.

{Ed007's Note - Ambrose should have never played in that Juventus match, it was a ridiculous decision by Lennon and his Celtic career went downhill from there. Before that he was a solid enough defender on the domestic front.}

I would hope that Rodgers would be bringing in better quality that Efe who would actually be missed.

I understand the risk of injury on international duty but any player called up risks that, especially in international friendlies or even closer to home playing on artificial pitches, if these lads turn out anything like VW then they are worth the punt, especially at the reduced fees we might purchase them for. Foreign players from any continent will more than likely use us as a stepping stone for higher wages at EPL clubs, and if they want to play their socks off in the green and white to get that chance then I for one don't mind at all, the more money we can generate the more state of the art facilities the young hoops will have to develop and hopefully one day our starting 11 will be littered with home grown talent who enjoy the Jersey more than the pay cheque, until then let's keep this engine ticking on to great things

{Ed007's Note - It's just an article about the state of the pitches at the AFCON and the amount of injuries caused by them.
