Just heard on SSB about trouble at the game last night with a DFC spokesman claiming it was the worst violence he had seen in twenty years.I was there and never seen anything,i did see what looked like a small disturbance, but i was down the front as my mate took his wee boy for the first time.I assumed it was the usual flare nonsense or something similar can anyone enlighten me? Mr Lawwell has apologised so i assume it must have been naughty.........green jhedi

Believable9 Unbelievable7

I stay in dundee and was speaking to a DFC fan and he said there was a few scuffles in the Celtic support last night and flares being sent off but nothing major. He also said Dundee fans were fighting amongst themselves

Agree0 Disagree0

Was in main stand just above where players come out. was surprised by the comments of thomson@DFC as from where we were it was just a typical away game atmosphere, ok a bit more robust due to time of yr n kick off but nothing else. cant comment on in-house fighting on concourse but other than that the only thing that happned was a few crackers going off. Maybe shld take a look at the dundee fans with the union flag which was waved at away support and also thrown at us as fans left. Stevo dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

A was ther aswel never seen anythin tbh probs blown out of proportion as usual

I haven't been to dens park since the seventies but in those days it was a dangerous place to go and really I'm not surprised by this. Celtic need to step up security at away matches at the moment. You know why.

evening ed fellow bhoys n ghirls and the usual sevco numpties who press disagree to every post, the following is on the main football rumours site i laughed so much i thought it was sevco going into admin
If a deal falls through with Robinson, Celtic manager Neil Lennon is being lined up. Lennon, who made 18 appearances for Forest in 2007-2008 is reportedly unhappy with the pressure being put on him by the Glasgow based club.

davie

Believable4 Unbelievable17

Its really going to be tough to stay at Celtic to manage a title winning side in the last 16 of the champions league when Forest are calling ya. bunch of f*nnies

Thought McLeish got the Forest job?

So it would appear Fran Sandazza has been "advised" not to bless himself before Matches at ibrox. So it would seem this "same club" is indeed the same festering hole of intolerance and bigotry it has always been. It will be very interesting to see what the media, and indeed the rangers new spin doctor Traynor, make of this. The only way The rangers can salvage any credibility from this shocking, and i choose that word deliberately, claim is to name the person or persons who "advised" the player. If they do not out this person then the rumours will start,we all know who we think it would be,and that would drag the story on.The flip side is it could have been a player who, knowing the attitude of some knuckle dragging ibrox patrons, was just giving him a handy tip on how to keep onside with the natives. It would appear that under the friendly candy coating this is still the sectarian steeped shame of a club it has always been.Or is it? Over to you Chuckie, lets be hearing your take on this, normally you cannot be shut up...........green jhedi

Believable18 Unbelievable6

The auld club is DEAD,if newco want to go down the auld road W.G.A.F.MERRY X MAS/green jehdi like your comments hh.....jimthetim...

Agree1 Disagree0

Much ado about nothing. He was advised, and correctly so, not to bless himself because, unfortunately there is still an element of Rangers fans who wouldn't condone. Well, I say that, but it's been a while since anyone last blessed themselves at Ibrox, not that I've noticed anyway. So who knows, perhaps this element wouldn't give a toss....just Fran doesn't give a toss. The only people who are going to make a big deal out of this is Celtic fans, like yourself.

TTG

Agree1 Disagree1

Ah zombies dont care about it? only Celtic fans? FEEBLE argument!.... jimthetim....

Agree0 Disagree1

@TTG; Really?Thats your response? Should decent gers fans not make a fuss? Do you think that in 2012 this is acceptable? As for the, frankly ludicrous "it's been a while since...." Why might that be? Are more players being coached in the expectations of the rangers "elements" As for fans like myself making a big deal of it,correct.Should all decent human beings not be appalled at this? Im afraid i will stand against any form of racism or intolerance, religion or colour,i find in my life.Just in case you might be interested i am an Atheist so please dont play the Catholic card..........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

He only blesses himself for the start of his prayer to ask forgiveness and plead for a dream switch to his boyhood idols St Johnstone. A step up in class that he feels he could handle. ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell me now this clubs fans dont hate catholics, and the club panders to it

maestro08

Agree0 Disagree0

Jhedi the club has come out and denied telling him any such thing! its just the usual newspaper cr*p there has been quite a few rangers players over the years that have crossed themselves when coming onto the pitch as im sure you know!...mark.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Mark; Fair play to them. But now Sandaza must be asked why he made such a statement in the first place. I am sure you would agree it is the only way to exonerate the club? As i said in an earlier post this must be investigated to it's natural conclusion.............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Mark

The last player to do so was Gabriel Amato against Shelbourne at ibrox. he was carpeted and warned never to do it again. that was 10 or so years ago. No Rangers player has made the sign of the cross whilst entering the field of play since

Samson

Agree0 Disagree0

Mark,

you say rangers have come out and denied it - well they would, wouldn't they? i know who i would believe between a player giving an interview in his homeland and a club's PR statement but maybe you're more gullible than me. i hope santa was good to you and you're looking forward to seeing the easter bunny....

Agree0 Disagree0

Another fantastic post Mr Jhedi. It just shows that even though it is a new club they are still beating the same drum (pun intended). Has UEFA and FARE been made aware of this interview, surely they would investigate who in the club told Sandaza? Don't give us this rubbish about lost in translation either, there would be no confusion, why is it only the bad things players say that are translated wrong, it never happens when they say how much they love their new club.

SCOTLAND'S SHAME THEN... SCOTLAND'S SHAME NOW.... SCOTLAND'S SHAME FOREVER!

Celtic are interested in Stephen Ward of Wolves and Jonathan Parr of Crystal Palace. Lennon values both at around £2.5million however both Wolves and Palace want nearer £4million. A deal is unlikely to be done in January but one of these players will be targeted in the Summer if their teams miss out on promotion

TheBhoyLee

Believable1 Unbelievable26

Stephen Ward is awful, wouldn't pay 2 million for him. Not entirely convinced that anyone has to come in-unless anyone leaves. Top priority retain Hooper and Big Vic. Daviebhoy

that player ward is pure dort,,,

Agree0 Disagree0

Ward is rank rotten would struggle for a game at sevco

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute nonsense, Lenny is considering neither of these. Where did you get this from the inside of a Christmas Cracker ? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute nonsense. dopeydavey

Agree0 Disagree0

No way will Celtic get Ward for £2.5m, he's worth double that, a great up and coming young player, think again Buoylee

Agree0 Disagree0

Dopeydavey? Quality reply from guy who doesn't name himself. Ward is no better than anyone we have and is actually significant step down from the likes of Ledley, Commons or Mulgrew who could all cover the LB berth if needed. Neither is Jon Parr. If we hold on to Hooper and Wanyama that will be great, we still have the likes of Stokes to come back and Forrest to get up to pace as well as McGeogh and Ibrahim yet to break into the team. So where's the nonsense? Daviebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Here Ed, just ignore my last post. Thought "dopeydavey" was someone having a go at me! (step away from the beer!) Daviebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Daviebhoy (is that YOUR real name?!) - I actually meant the OP was nonsense, we have no need for either player. I could maybe see us going for a young, cheap backup LB like Blackman was supposed to be but never anyone costing millions, , , peace, , , dopeydavey

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers dopey, my parents didn't put the |"bhoy" on the end lol! Totally agree, if John Park can source a young LB I'm cool wae that but otherwise, play our current strong hand. Hope yer Xmas breaks all good man. MTC, Daviebhoy

What a goal by Gary Hooper tonight, first touch to bring the ball down was perfect, and then to top it of he chips big Rab haw the glesga glutton. For me that goal just sums Hooper up he wasn't even in the game and then does that. He is so much more than a 'poacher' Peter Lawell make Gary Hooper an offer he can't refuse. Ian L

Believable15 Unbelievable10

Some respect for big Rab please

Agree1 Disagree1

Can someone explain the 4 'unbelievable' clicks?

Agree1 Disagree0

Your missing the point, big Rab is irrelevant, Gary Hooper's finish was world class. Before anybody has a panic attack I'm not saying Hooper is world class, but that goal certainly was. Hooper is the best striker we've had since Henrik Larrson, I know Hooper is not a patch on Larsson, but that's how high I rate Hooper. Ian L

Agree1 Disagree1

Ian, i have always backed you about Hooper but have decided to take a back step now.......as i fear you have a mancrush on him...lol.
You saw him first, so you can have first go!
I will go for Big Sammy as he looks more like a woman...lol

Joeshmo1888

Agree0 Disagree0

You really have a weird taste in women Joe . Especially ones with heavy growths!.......DH

Agree2 Disagree0

HaHa! Good yin, I know I'm getting a bit obsessed with him theses days. We have a striker who is on the verge of an England call up while playing in Scotland, lets not forget he's scoring goals home and away in the champions league. I just feel that we have a gem on our hands here and we should be pulling out all the stops to keep him, and with the club in the best financial position we've been in for years we should be signing him up for the next 3 years. The chances are he would not see out the 3 year deal as someone would make Celtic an offer the couldn't refuse. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

What about the pass to Hooper ... surely as worthly as the goal its self ?...TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the disagree clicks were because saying hooper was (again) not in the game but popped up and scored, aswell as saying he is much more than a poacher is a bit of a contradiction.

While we're at it I think Wilson knew what he was doing, as stated the camera angles may or may not save him but I'm pretty sure I noticed one behind the goal we were defending first half. I, personally, without seeing it again yet believe that it was deliberate- hopefully it'll turn out that I'm wrong. It should be noted that Naismith was done last year against Dunfermline I'm sure with the same bodies shouting from the rooftops. ***smith was entirely deliberate though and only have a real time instinct about the intent by Wilson.

Hope all our peeps and ED had a great day yesterday, game tonight was a bit patchy i thought.Started as if we were ready to dismantle them, great first half then a bad period before wrapping things up,great touch and goal from hoops. Two great saves from Forster though cannot be ignored we gotta concentrate.Still, lead stretched, give Murderwell a bloody nose and we should be fine heading up to juve as the Hibs bubble looks to have burst.Still missing players so pass marks all round.............green jhedi
