just back home from the game, hooper great performance, ambrose looks like a player , he strolled through it , one bad pass in the second half, but yes he is good, outstanding performance of the night, the green brigade, absolutely superb, thank you guys. one final thought when we or if we get to the final of this competition, DO NOT tell me that because you are a season ticket holderthat you deserve a ticket more than me. i don't have a season book but that is my fourth game this season, there was only 14,000 of us there tonight, and when it comes to the final dont grudge me a ticket.. shamrock

Believable15 Unbelievable5

I'm a season ticket holder myself mate and i wholeheartedly agree with you that the fans making the sacrifices now when others aren't should be first in line to get a cup final ticket. I didn't make the game tonight as I was working. Whenever I can't make it I usually give my book to a mate so the seats not going empty. 14,000 is mega low, I mean I went to a UEFA cup game against Hapoel tel aviv during the week a few seasons back where we were already out and the game was meaningless and there was more than that. Hope we can get a good crowd at Hearts game in a few weeks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry dont agree? i understand why you are saying this but i have been a season ticket holder for a few years now. The reason for disagreeing with you is that i pay for every game whether i am there or not? so do you? you get to pick and choose your games that you can make.... now if it was away games you were talking about i would agree whole heatedly with you. I hope you understand my stance here i am not having ago but really i pay for every home game if i am there or not so in my eyes i deserve to be offered tickets for home games first or cup finals. Hail Hail scotiebhoy B

Agree1 Disagree0

Cup games are not included in Season books so you are not paying for a seat at last nights game.

Agree0 Disagree0

POST 2) Go to the games then.

ShowMeTheDeeds88

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm caught in two minds with this one. I do believe season book holders get the first option odds cup final tickets but I do believe Celtic should have a system when they can tell what season book holders go to the games and who is not and rickety should go to supporter who make it to the gamma first. I've been a season book holders for 24 years now don't miss a hone game and go to most away games that I can but when we played rangers in the league cup final Celtic said I did not get a ticket and when told I haven't misses a home game or cup game they said well we must have made a mistake we will put you on a waiting list . Which I never got a call. So my problem is people picking and choosing games they wish to attend . And supporter who show up for a midweek cup game against the small sides and attend all home games don't get a ticket because of some self proclaimed fantastic Celtic fan who goes to all the games ( well the once he want to go to ) gets tickets before fans who attend.

People talk of the money we should have next season after champions league money but without fans going to the games the revenue well be well down and rhetoric same supporter will be moaning we are not spending money.

Celtic finished second behind Barca for rhetoric second most loyal fans well we will be no where near that now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Point taken about you paying for every game, i just feel a wee bit cheated that every season i go to the less than glamorous ties in the league and scottish cups. then when the finals come i dont get a ticket , simply because i dont have a season book or i'm not a member of a supporters club, same goes for europe, i was at helsinki, helsingborgs and benfica games , i wont be at barcalona game , no tickets . is that fair ??????????? shamrock

Efe Ambrose's performance really delighted me tonight,
but i thought he was supposed to be a central defender that we have needed for a long time??not a midfielder,.,.kbarry

Believable10 Unbelievable2

He is similar to big vic in that he can play either in defense or midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree mate, but that means we have yet to cocentrate on signing just a central defender, i think if iam right the last decent money we paid out for was glen loovens??? ,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Explain to me why Wilson, Charlie and Thomas are not enough?

I always said that Wilson would come good. Don't think he has put a foot wrong this season!

We need to start to give players time before saying they are mish! If Petrov joined as a 19 year old today, he would never make it at Celtic!

ShowMeTheDeeds88

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilson and charlie were free's and rogne was 50k? What iam saying is we dont seem to spend money on defenders mate.
"wilson charlie and thomas" i do rate but we were crying out for a cb all summer infact for the last few summers, that what iam getting at,.,.kbarry

I am in the USA so watched the game live on Celtic TV. Ambrose is a star....as strong as Wanyama, very comfortable on the ball and picks a great pass. Very calming influence in the middle of the park.
MOM for sure on his debut.
Dylan, Forrest and of course Hooper were superb.

As one of Gary Hooper's biggest fans I can put into words how over the moon I am he's banged in 4 goals tonight (with some time to spare) but I'll give it ago....overweight, not interested, heart not in it. The guy is a fantastic goal scorer and the sooner we get him on an improved contract the better. Some of the posts on here about Gary Hooper over the last few days have been shocking...he's the best striker at the club by a country mile. I hope he has now shown all you doubters that he is committed to our club. Until an Epl team comes in with a 6.5m - 7.5m, guys who score 4 and 5 goals in games are hard to come by...don't forget that. Ian L

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Hail Hail Ian!
i thought Hooper was fantastic tonight, and hopefully that performance will shut up the haters. i can only think that the criticism he's been getting about being too lazy, uninterested etc, are from people who have never kicked a ball in their life and know absolutely nothing about the game. he was all over the park AGAIN tonight, even chasing down guys 30 yards in our own half to force a throw in with 5 mins to go ffs!!

delighted for him, and a huge 2 fingers up to his critics!

though ambrose played a blinder as well, he looks as if he's been at paradise for 10 years....looks like we've unearthed another cracker.
glad to see kayal & ledley back as well, this is what we've been missing i think

Well said Ian, i have found the comments about Hooper over the last few weeks quite incredible. Every striker goes through quiet stages. I watched the king of kings have poor games. Hoopers composure infront of goal is the best in the SPL by a country mile. Going by the price of some EPL strikers we should be looking for big bucks for him. Lets enjoy him while we can as replacing him will be difficult.

well said that man....derbycelt

Agree0 Disagree0

He needs to now sustain this level and find consistency over the forthcoming games. Not yoyo up and down.
Would anyone disagree with this?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pleased to see him doing well tonight and getting in the goals. He hasn't won me over yet though I'm afraid. He needs to work harder, but hopefully it was confidence that was the problem and now he will build on this performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said! I was arguing with ppl last week about this and although I didn't get to watch the game, 4 goals in a game is hard to put down even if they say they are tap ins or wtv. C-Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers lads. As I said some of the stuff folk were saying about him on here was really getting under my skin. So glad he went out and done that tonight. Well said Taco. Lets hope Hoops can grab a wee goal for us in Moscow next week. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Calm down lads, we were playing raith rovers not even spl quality.jokingly said to my mate after his second-.we'll be getting told he's worth seven mil again.
my God it's easy to please some of you a decent performance against raith and suddenly he's a world beater, remember it was raith.

He's a lazy sh1t bag and that's the bottom line

Jamie Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

It was against raith rovers get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

Still think he needs to lose a stone or two tho

Agree0 Disagree0

I said on here two days ago in defence of gary hooper give him the service and he will score goals regardless of who the opposition are.last night balls into the box result FOUR goals, lay off the guy.
jimbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont agree he only done what i always said he would do go six without a goal then bang in four to make the goal ratio look good but its only one game and the six blank cost us vital points

Agree0 Disagree0

I only caught the second half of the raith game, but Hooper played a blinder. I think hes our best striker by a long shot, but do agree he could try a bit harder sometimes.

In some games, the bhoy doesnt stop and covers more ground than most, in others his workrate is questionable. He can terrorise defences, and id rather he stayed up front than dropping back.

Ambrose looked fairly steady, one bad pass, but was generally the man who was playing it out from the back. Looks to be from the Wanyama mould.

Id like to see Tont Watt get a chance in the bigger games. Im a believer of if they are good enough, they're old enough, and i think we should be playing him and Hooper as our main partnership.

Hi ed, and bhoys and ghirls...new to the site, loving it, good to see what my fellow tims think. I had a look at another rumour site the other day(traitor I know, sorry) and it said something about a young 16 year old guy called noe baba? I think? It said we had signed him and that he was a trialist during a closed doors match at lennoxton against blackpool...was wondering if this is true? I also seen a story in a paper a few months back about us being interested in him, but u never know what to believe with the daily sevco.

a wee word of warning to all you guys hoping to watch the game online tonight. celtic tv will be the host channel tonight because sly, espn bbc etc are not covering it. i tried to watch the dundee game on saturday , it worked for 5 minutes then a message appeared on the screen saying . we have new technology you are not a subscriber. and the picture disappeared. so it probably wont work. hence i am going to the game tonight.. shamrock {Ed007's Note - They are trying to close down all streaming sites.}

ed , do you know why we can't subscribe to celtic tv in britain. i would have thought that under fair trade laws celtic and any other team in the country should be allowed to sell their product online. why should i be forced to give my £15 a month to sly when obviously i'd rather it went to celtic. shamrock {Ed007's Note - It's all to do with the rules of broadcasting that cover the game.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed i am living in Germany and paid 135 quid for the year and the quality of the games is shocking! Maybe they should spend time trying to make Celtic TV better for people who pay. Then they can look at stopping live streaming or whatever. Chanel 67 was a lot better.
Paderbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats why it would be so much better if celtic could sell their own rights to games we would make a mint off it unfortunately all the other clubs wouldn't and for that reason they would vote against it but i think they do that in germany but dont quote me on it. another good thing they do in the states for most sports they keep games off tv mostly unless there's a full house then they sell the tv rights.

Tonights game is only on the OPEN ALL MICS on the BBC. Notice they are showing the Newco game on tv tomorrow night. Jk

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't quite understand why so many people believe that Celtic would make so much more money if they had to broadcast their games themselves. Viewing figures are not as high as many people believe and how much do you think people would be willing to pay a month for a subscription that only shows a Celtic game once or twice a week as compared to a a website channel with 24 hour programming?

Scotland Fan {Ed007's Note - You must have those figures or your point doesn't actually mean anything.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched the game online last night & yes it was celtic tv, no problems with it at all
Maryhill Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed007 good point on requesting the figures. The opening game of this season at hopme against Aberdeen was 91000, the away game against Ross County was 70000 and the away game against St Johnstone was 85000.

I just want to state though that I am not disagreeing that Celtic are one of the best supported teams in the UK, only trying to say that I don't see dedicated club channels as being such an easily viable option as many people think. I feel it would be a hard task to squeeze even more money from people who are already paying a lot of money for their tv packages.

Good morning bhoys and ghirls!

Hope all is well today, looking forward to the game tonight. Unfortunately can't make it up to paradise because of work but am hoping to catch the game on the Internet!
I see first row sports are showing it, may sound a bit silly but I've never watched a game over the Internet so it's new to me. What do I have to do? Does it involve signing up to a subscription or membership or is it simply a click and watch kind of thing? And what kind of picture quality is it?
Probably sound stupid asking all those questions so please don't mock too much lol! My computer knowledge ends at a game of solitaire so need it to be as easy as possible!

I'm going to the raith game but Ed you might know hasn't it been in the past the first home domestic cup match has been on the season ticket the last few years {Ed007's Note - The last I remember this was when you got drew against the old Rangers in the 3rd round and the club realised they money they lost.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The last game with the season ticket was against Livingston. Have never known a Rangers game to be free ed, and i had my ticket form when they done 7 in a row.

samson {Ed007's Note - It was a right few years ago, you got the 3rd round of the League Cup free and we drew Rangers, I am 99% sure it happened, does anyone else remember this???}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you are right ed, but then again we played a friendly late in the season not that long ago to make it up to the supporters because we never got a home draw in the cup that year. It was really poorly attended and I think that's why they stopped the home cup season ticket deal.

Skelly

Agree0 Disagree0

They changed it, for that game, and charged us £35 a ticket. Maloney scored a rasper and Klos scored an O.G. if i remember correctly

Ed dont forget Canada, we are not the u.s if your adding us in. It gets me upset being grouped with u.s lol {Ed007's Note - Apologises mate, I know how you Canadians feel about that.}
