I've seen a lot of talk recently about what we will do when wanyama leaves, personally I do not think its plausible to look for a direct replacement as I think we have a player that can shine in his absence. Personally I think Kayal will thrive when he gets a consistent run of games, lately his performances have improved greatly and I think next season will cement the position for his own.
Need to disagree with you junglebhoy33, I think kayal looks a shadow of the player we seen in his first year at the club, anytime I've seen him over the last few months I think he's been below par, wanyamas shoes/boots will be big ones to fill, in my opinion far to big for kayal, personally I would try and move him on. I agree, kayal will get a lot more time and be good but he also gets hurt and can get the dumb card in games but I expect him to up his game. Saying that we will no doubt try and find a gem in mid and bring them along slowly like was the plan with wanyama, but he was too good to hold back.
Think we are going to try and make our mid with top talent like barca does, which is the strongest part of our club and where clubs would want our mid. We are going to try and keep pumping our mid with some great young talent so that if one is sold the replacement is already in place
I agree with Ian. I don't think Kayal could ever fill Wanyama'a boots. I hope I am wrong because I doubt the Board will splash on a player of Wanyama's calibre.

I agree he's not the same player he was and Lennon doesn't seem to trust him in the big games now! he's not commanding enough for me he runs about like a headless chicken at times! Wanyama is a rare breed we found a real gem there he has all the attributes to be a world class player! My only hope is we hold out for big money for him if Liverpool paid 15 million for Allan from Swansea he is not even close to the Player Wanyama is! And Could be!

I do like Kayal but this season, it seems like he's been trying too hard. Too much pointless running around and shouting a the ref. He almost reminds me of the first few years of Scott Brown.
He is a talented player who needs some coaching, needs to calm down, not try to do too much and he really needs to move into a more defensive midfield role, which is his natural position. We've all seen his attempts on goal and they are all awful.

I too disagree with the original post. Although I used to love Kayal as a player, I was very disappointed (although not surprised) that when he played a few good games he instructed a 'super agent' to find him a club down south, preferably Man United. Now, having seen Kayal's performances this year, I agree with the poster that says we should move him on. We need new players that will give us a bit of energy and enthusiasm and Kayal is not the man to do this. Like a lot of our current players, he just does not look interested. AND PLEASE LENNY NO N'GUEMO!!
Ledley should be the main man in our midfield and I think he will be. Partnered with Brown for the next year and then hopefully one of the youngers can come in next to him eventually. Reckon next season we could well see the whole team working around Ledley if we hold onto him. Daviebhoy77
Kayal is a headless chicken and far too injury prone, and he can't last 90 minutes, he won't fill Wanyama's boots.
Kayal believes all the hype that's been in the papers about him being a good player. He now has his feet under the table at Celtic park and imo is happy to sit there picking up a decent wage, probably the best he's ever had. Good games are a distant memory from him and I think if anything over £2m came in we should take it.
I think Kayal is very skill-full and looked a great prospect in his first season - and was touted by bigger clubs apparently?
But he was never the same after his first long injury and like Brown misses a lot of games a season. He is not the bravest and
he is always the first to get hooked.
Lastly; unlike Wanyama, he lacks goals.

The price tag set for Wanyama should certainly assure Neil Lennon that he can go out and buy a replacement and try to improve the team with a profit for the board too. Asier Illarramendi, Jordy Clasie, Youssuf Mulumbu, Idrissa Gueye, Benjamin Stanbouli, Joshua Guilavogui, Ignacio Camacho, Victor Perez and Vincent Pajot are who I would like to replace Wanyama. No idea how much any of them would cost.
@Daviebhoy77 what would happen to brown when the youngster comes in to play with ledley next year?
To last post, too much computer games for you wee man,. ,. kbarry
@kevb: I would love for Brown to keep going but we may find this injury will cut him short. Hopefully not as Brown sitting and Ledley in CAM would be tidy. We always hear about Joe L as the unsung hero and the great utility man. While that's true, the CAM role that he played at Cardiff is where he really shines and we've not really given him that gig yet. Brown cutting things up and Ledley supporting the front men is the way forward. Daviebhoy77
Kbarry,
i don't play computer games that much to be fair, I probably do watch too many football highlight shows though. those players are highly rated youngsters in good leagues who I have been impressed with, and who I think would bee good replacements for wanyama in terms of quality and financial movement, that is all. apologies if they seem to far fetched or nameless to you.
