ED is the Lazio threat of coming in for Boyata real or not do know or just rubbish?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - From what I've been told Lazio only see Boyata as an alternative to Francesco Acerbi as a replacement for Inter Milan bound Stefan de Vrij.}

25 Jun 2018 22:32:23
Threat? A will piggy back him there if they offer us £7 million.

26 Jun 2018 07:07:57
Hopefully Compper can come and show y we bought him and make an impression with a full pre season behind him and strike up a partnership with Ajer.

Agree2 Disagree3

26 Jun 2018 08:31:58
I don't get people wanting to chase boyata he is our best defender at the club imo. We need Brendan to come up with better tactics against certain teams so the defence don't take risks playing out from the back so much. We all know he isn't great with distribution so we need to move the ball out of defence quicker rather than what we saw last season particularly at home with a dozen passes to reach the half way line. Ajer is good and has more potential to improve but he also takes risks in defence due to tactics and needs to build his physique to dominate more.

Agree5 Disagree3

26 Jun 2018 08:46:55
@jim1972.Ajer needs built up? have you stood next to this boy? He is huge, mistakes will happen but the talent is undoubted.

Cheers ED I c the Armstrong deal is closing in can u see a replacement being brought in or come from within?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Have you missed all the threads about John McGinn?}

26 Jun 2018 11:20:32
Don't think he's a Armstrong replacement someone who will break the lines with pace someone different to what we have we've got Ntcham Brown and co similar to Mc Ginn looking for that pace and energy bursting into the box from deep type player which I don't see in McGinn.

Agree0 Disagree2

26 Jun 2018 12:16:34
Have you even watched McGinn play? He is a bix to box player and isn't nothing like Broony.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2018 13:54:42
Rich, McGinn is full of energy he's a wee dynamo. I can't get my head around comparisons to Broony at all. McGinn himself has said the comparisons annoy him because they are different players!

Hearing a lot of rumours right now that Paddy has been offered to the club from Man City due to the Maddison deal going through with Leicester. The price quoted is 7m by multiple people. Any truth in this?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

25 Jun 2018 15:43:28
Can't see it imo. That would be us at around 15m in him and Eduoard and without strengthening the defence.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Jun 2018 15:48:25
Heard this too Ken, it sounds like a non starter to me a the boy is wanting a prem gig.

Agree2 Disagree2

25 Jun 2018 16:22:36
With us already paying around £3m already on his loan deals could be Man City are willing to drop there price for us but if a EPL team wants him they have to cough up a bigger fee.

With the VVD, Sviachenko and Armstrong cash that would probs pay for Edouard and Roberts without Rodgers even diving into his transfer budget.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2018 16:26:52
Shug, remember Armstrong is moving on for 7m. I know Davie, can always hope.

If the other noise about Boyata has anything to it, I’d now really be prioritising left and right CBs.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jun 2018 19:40:40
£7m would be a steal for wee Paddy, I’m not getting my hopes up though. Learned the hard way at the jan window.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Jun 2018 21:22:25
I’d have thought Fulham would have been right in for him. Thing is Amy EPL club will be able to put gun is financially and the gamble of us getting it together in Europe probably isn’t enough to seal the deal. I’d love to think we could go on a late rounds extended trip in Europa and it’s not impossible. But neither is a berating across 6 games in the CL. If he wants to come, I’d be made up, if not I understand why.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jun 2018 21:52:23
I’d be very surprised if this came off, not due to the club but paddy himself. On his interview he basically said he’d gone as far with the club as he could and wanted to try and get a premier club . Staying with us would be the safe option, id be surprised if that’s changed when it’s very early in the transfer window and there’s loads of time for other clubs to come in for him.

26 Jun 2018 09:19:09
Agreed Quinn.

I hope its true ken, i enjoyed watching Patrick, a true traditional celtic style winger.

Agree5 Disagree0

26 Jun 2018 10:08:39
I can’t see it, but I can’t see the funds being the blocker,
VVD money,
Potential money for Armstrong?
CL money.

Our net spend so far can’t be that much?

I have to say though, if Paddy comes back (permanently) I would be delighted.

Was talking to my mate who stays in Manchester, he said the McTominay to Celtic rumours are hotting up down there too.

Believable19 Unbelievable15

25 Jun 2018 00:45:28
We just don't need him imo.

Agree12 Disagree15

25 Jun 2018 01:33:56
I'm with you partly on that shug. Added to that the sources are questionable. IF he was to sign there would probably be an appearance clause, maybe? It wouldn't do the dressing room any favours but that's football . We have plenty of lads going for the cm slots. If we do bring someone in for cm he has to be exceptional or worth it financially with a resale.

As a swap for SA there's no harm but SA barely featured last season. We need mfs that can carry the ball. We missed that dimention last season imo with Roberts and SA out the picture . Its an option we didn't have and in many games we were stagnant. If given the choice of having a loan or buying I'd opt for the latter. To be kind to contracted players is standing still. If any player comes in and cuts the mustard then that what has to happen. We have a cracking domestic squad but we will need to put a few noses out of joint and be ruthless if we want to move up a level.

Agree10 Disagree18

I really like McTominay. A loan deal without an option to buy though wouldn't make a huge deal of sense to me. Unless, there is a possibility to sign McGinn for free next summer?

Agree4 Disagree17

25 Jun 2018 10:57:15
No more loans mourinho rates him so there would be no option to buy just go and get mcginn simples.

Agree14 Disagree4

25 Jun 2018 11:01:11
What questionable sources are they rglen? The scotsman? The bbc? The manchester evening news?

Agree15 Disagree11

25 Jun 2018 12:18:17
He seems a decent player but why sign him on loan and potentially send out Kouassi who plays in the same position? Doesn't make sense.

Agree11 Disagree2

25 Jun 2018 12:41:25
So it's your mate who stays in Manchester now makes a change from your usual rubbish about your mates on the coaching stuff or mates son that plays in the youth team. jamesbhoy you've never got a single prediction right in all the time I've been reading here

Agree11 Disagree14

25 Jun 2018 16:50:03
I'm with bravetart on this. Would rather give Kouassi a shot. And who would we drop to fit him in.

Agree8 Disagree0

25 Jun 2018 17:15:40
I don't necessarily see McTominay as a CDM either to be honest bhoys. Yes he plays deep for Man U. But so does all of Mourinho's midfield because their CBs are suspect and can't control large areas. You can see McTominay used to be an attacking player because he likes to carry the ball when he gets an opportunity. He's dynamic enough and has the skill set to be a box to box midfielder for me. We need another option at CM with Armstrong away. All my thinking was, is if McGinns agent is given an indication that we'd be interested next year, then getting McTominay on loan for a season could save us a few million. Plus McGinn would play every game for Hibs, he wouldn't for us.

Jamesbhoy67-I read it early from some dark corner of the internet in a blog. At the time I searched everywhere and couldn't find it anywhere else. None of the papers or websites you mentioned had printed it at that time.

Well spotted finny. James Bhoy talks absolute nonsense on this on a daily basis with his make believe pals.

25 Jun 2018 21:59:17
Have you noticed that his posts are always full of thumbs up as well. for someone that spouts so much rubbish I wonder where they come from but it'll wee sad jamesbhoy himself sitting there in his Celtic jammies all happy clicking them thinking he looks popular.
My mate in manchester lmfao aye right son, put the bottle down it's bed time. Wouldn't suprise me if theres a post on the man u pages saying it's coming from his mate in Glasgow.

Agree10 Disagree8

25 Jun 2018 22:05:24
I would rather stick with what we have than loan McTominay. Wouldn't want us hampering the great players we already have in midfield. Broony, Ntcham, McGregor, Rogic, Kouassi especially if we don't even have a chance of signing him once his loan expires. Plus if the McGinn rumours are true too then it would make even less sense signing him on loan. Unless as JimTim says it is until we get McGinn for free next season and he continues to develope at Hibs in the meantime.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jun 2018 10:06:07
Everything true finny, i have 2 family friends on the coaching staff, my mates bhoy is ross doohan, and i've actually got 2 mates who live in manchester, both married manchester lassies and work there, my mate who told me about the rumour is a season ticket holder at both CP and OT, and im a friend of the mcginn family too, so if you want to make allegations make sure they are true, and it wasn't a prediction, it was a rumour, i obviously want john to join celtic, when did i say mctominay was definitely signing? It's a rumours site.

It was in the scotsman on monday rglen, as i said its just press talk just now, as i said my mate said the story is doing the rounds down there too.

26 Jun 2018 10:17:46
Do you want my mates names who stay in manchester finny? One has been there since the 80s and one since the early 90s, so get your facts straight, and incidently i don't use the thumbs buttons, i just have a lot of friends on here, i also just happen to have a lot of friends in football too.

its not many people who have friends who won the english premier league and who are in the sfa hall of fame for having 53 caps, and its not my fault me and my family have been friends with the mcginn family and 2 members of the coaching staffs families going back decades, so you believe what you like.
