My mates wife works in admin and says that she heard a couple of guys in suits talking about a player called huddleson coming in for talks on Friday

Believable16 Unbelievable24

Tom Huddlestone from Tottenham

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard this a few days ago aswell and posted it on here hopefully the guy would be awesome in the spl. jiggythetim

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy picked up a bad injury a few years back. At the time he was lookng good as an Engerland regular as his form for Spurs was outstanding. he's as broad as Lou Ferango ( the Hulk from the TV show not Hulk from Braaazeel) He can defend but he looked like the most offensive CB I have ever seen. Can hit the ball like a rocket. If this guy can stay srious injury free get his confidence back he IMHO would be the outstanding piece of business this summer and show some real intent. He really looked like a class act and a 20m defender at his best. I do think there is posibly an attitude problem or a motivation problem. Maybe he will be used occassionally in a defensive midfield role as I think he is capable of that too. Sopotcelt. {Ed001's Note - he is a midfielder, not a defender, he only played defence during injury problems.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Big bear of a bloke, outstanding a few yrs back, would take him in a heartbeat, think its still fantasy rumour time, would cost a hell of a lot and dosent fit in with our transfer policy. bhoywonder

Agree2 Disagree0

I stand corrected. I only saw him a few times but the guy looked like a class act. Do you think he is a talent and would be a good addition. You seem to know a lot more about him than me or e average Celtic fan. Thanks for the heads up. Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a great replacement for Vic. He's done well to keep fit recently as well, apart from a few wks in February he was out!

Luke murphy. Centre mid from crewe. Watch this space. noel

Agree0 Disagree0

Wolves have had an offer accepted for Luke Murphy. If that's his standard then we shouldn't be going anywhere near him.

Can someone please tell me were this mcfadden link came from as celtic said in April that they didn't want him

Believable6 Unbelievable8

25 Jun 2013 19:37:43
possibly the daily sevco, from wishful supposed journalists, if I am suspicious enough, not that I am. I reasonably believe that we can all live together, or am I thinking there is a conspiracy

Agree0 Disagree1

I seen it on teamtalk.com's celtic page they linked it to sly mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be pretty disappoint if we signed him or kevin Doyle to be honest.

Just read Mehdi Abeid has been released by Newcastle, creative midfielder, can go by a man, was on loan at St Johnstone last season and looked quite impressive IMO May be an inexpensive option as is still very young with loads of potential. What's anyones thoughts?

You answered that with the name left.

Hi Ed, was wondering, will the Cliftonville home game be on the season ticket? we usually get one of the qualifiers on the season book, have you heard anything? Drewzybhoy . {Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything official.}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

It is on the season ticket

It is 100% on the season ticket

Just saw that Liverpool are trying to offload Jordan Henderson to fund a move for big vic, if anyone hears anything similar let me know

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Heard it was a Liverpool player making way don't know who though

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we are getting way ahead of ourselves. No top 6 club will bid this summer one season in CL doesn't mean someone will shell out 15mil. I predict no large club bids for 1 more year poss jan then if VW performs more consistently they will swoop. Otherwise the best he can hope for is Cardiff. I'm sure supporters of top six are saying victor who

Agree0 Disagree1

Big Vic is a candyman he wants Celtic to take less so as he can get more, Celtic made him the player he is, no one heard of him until he signed for Celtic, chew on it Victor you'll have to accept £50,000 per week, I know it's hard to live on but you'll have to try.

Agree0 Disagree1

Reply number 2 sounds like a sevconian.

Claudio Pizarro, Ciprian Marica and Manuel Friedrich - All out of contract, have International and European experience.

Surely worth a pop?

HamiltonBhoy

Believable6 Unbelievable12

When Cipiran Marica played against us a few years back when he was with Shakhtar he looked like he was going to be a world class, never ever lived up to his promise but i'd def consider him if he is infact a free agent.

DundeeMichael

Agree1 Disagree0

If they like to live a life of plenty then they all are welcome.
What we need from them is 4/5 year contract and they must be a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds, a leader of men a team player but most of all a Hero is wanted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Claudio Pizarro and Manuel Friedrich are both in their mid 30's with their best days behind them, not doubting their ability, but do we really want to go down that road? A young vibrant, hungry team is what we want . Drewzybhoy .

Agree0 Disagree0

A young team will only be successful if they are kept together for 4/5 years, we will walk the league most seasons so our aim should be europe? An with young guys wanting to jump ship as soon as a EPL offer comes along isn't the way forward for celtic, yeah I like our signin policy but if the mcfadden rumour is true, I'd rather we went for someone that was past it that had a bit of class, than have someone who's had more than a faie share of chances to join and isn't even that good! Pirlo, scholes, riquelme they were aparently past it but pirlo is still doing what he does best for juve, riquelme is lightin up the arg league and scholes done what he did best in his last 2 seasons as a footballer, fair enough he didn't see much action in his last season due to injury but when he played u seen his class. Just because freddie or keano didn't work out and I mean roy keane, but they were here for a last pay-day. pizarro still has a few years left and would no doubt want to prove himself on the european stage again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I've always liked the idea of a young CB with an experienced head, same in CM. We have to explore our options for a FW as well, and if we could cut a deal with a guy like Pizarro it could signal intent!

Does anyone know who is currently on trial with us, if anyone?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

As far as I could see from the training photos, Steven Mouyokolo from Wolves - who was on trial in April, appears to be still there. He was in the pics from yesterday's session. (As far as I could tell). jean-Pierre Laguerre

Shenanigans coming from Big Vic's camp folks. As expected I suppose and all part of the game to get the best deal for themselves and the player.

"We are not in talks with Southampton and have not been since their final offer of terms, which was more than two weeks ago, " his agent Ivan Modia told tv.
The news of the fee being agreed may just be coming out now but we see little sense in a fee being agreed if there is no reasonable prospect of the player's terms being met.
To suggest we are talking with Southampton is totally false, their offer was way below Victor's expectations. There is no chance of him signing the deal on offer and, in fact, both Celtic and Southampton were informed of this some time ago.
The player will not be forced into a corner to accept the Southampton deal, just because it is good for Celtic. Remember, he has been with the club for two years now - without a pay rise - and has given them wonderful service ever since he arrived.
Added to this is the fact that by Celtic refusing him permission to join Queens Park Rangers last summer, Victor lost more than £1m in potential salary earnings - yet he just kept his mouth shut and continued to be a model professional. Many other players may not have adopted this attitude, in the circumstances."

Modia confirmed there was interest from elsewhere, adding: "We know there is interest from elsewhere and Victor is obviously open to those prospects - he is currently back in Kenya and hopes that Celtic will adopt a more reasonable approach and take into account the service that he has given the club so far and the rest of these issues.
Nobody at Celtic can question his attitude and he is hopeful he can leave on good terms with the club. He loves the club and its fans, he's played his heart out for the jersey. but he didn't quite expect that it may end like this."

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Wow his agent is a dick lol
"2 years with out a pay rise" again wow the poor guy he is only on £5 a hour. oh wait
and also he was offered on but rejected it

Agree0 Disagree0

Greed is always motivation. Clubs should be able to see whoever they want if the terms are right. Players are assets like houses and should be moved if it suits the owner. The tenant should then be told they can continue to play for same pay plus relocation. Agents are judas and kill the game

Agree1 Disagree0

The difficulty for Celtic and Wanyama is no club will touch him with a barge pole if they think he has an unreasonable Bolshevik agent.
Most agents know this and stay out the public limelight. This guy appears amateurish and is doing Wanyama harm as no one will want his troublesome agent near their club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor signed a 4 year contract why would Celtic give him a pay rise?
Sadly Vic is being badly advised with it all coming down to money.

Agree1 Disagree0

Saints fan here.

This guy is a real "person", isn't he! Moaning about his client not being allowed to leave for QPR (what happened to them?) and now trying to engineer a deal to any other club that will give him a fee of £1m!

Rather sad that Vic allows it to happen-he is, after all, the captain of his countries football team, and should be careful of his image.

Pretty unlikely for him to stay with you now, and almost impossible for him to join us (he would need to fit in with our squad where we have a 17 year old who would sell for more, and would find his attitude just weird.) Where will his agent pick up his £1m, and if you find the answer to that then you will probably find where he is playing next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't like the agent running Celtics name in the mud saying he will not be forced out and that we owe wanyama so we should do what is best for him and what he wants. I can see this as being bad for Vic for if this stuff continues about talking bad about us the fans and everyone will soon forget him and dislike will set in. Vic should tell his agent to shut it when talking about us after what we did for him and the charity we did for his home town.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vic will surely need to go now after this latest rant from a amatuer agent, I don't see NL or PL being to forgiving for it, big vic knows the way celtic run and how celtic fc expect their players to conduct themselfs on and off the field. to let your agent speak out so often just shows me that vic quite clearly feels money will decide where he plays next season. for this reason I seriously hope he is moved on, I don't want a player that doesn't want to be here! I agree with the saints fan, it is going to be hard for Vic to get his move with an agent like that, and for him to stay at celtic NOW would be a mistake. Thank you for the srevice vic, you were offered your wage rise last year and said no. there will be more big vics to come to celtic in future. so see you later son!

Agree0 Disagree0

He is waiting for a move to the 'biggest club' in his eyes. And from all the names mentioned so far, I'm guessing he's holding out from an offer from Liverpool, as they appear to be the 'biggest' club rumoured to have shown interest?! Just a thought? {Ed007's Note - Big clubs don't need to be in England.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If this agent is to be be leaved every team from united to barca have an interest in him but the facts are the saints are the only ones to put a offer on the table and that has complications for him, with big vic he is obviously telling him that he can get him to the mother load but vic is smelling sh"t and his next move is to blame Celtic, it's tactics these Peaple have one thing that motivates them and that is his cut, I hope big vic boots him and asks Celtic for an existent ion, a move to Southampton would be football suicide

Agree0 Disagree0

A move to southampton would not be football suicide, that's a bit harsh. Neil Lennon knows that Saints are an up and coming team of the future. Do some research. Big Vic wouldn't being going to the saints of old but the forward thinking meteoric rising saints.

Morning Bhoys,

Rumours from down south Wenger is about to start splashing the cash, Huigian, Ashley Williams and apparently 15m bid getting slapped in for big Vic? Does anyone have any news confirming this? I would bet my house if this was true, the bid will be accepted and the wages and contract would be enough to satisfy Vic's demands. (I hope it triggers a bidding war! HH ShottsBhoy

Believable8 Unbelievable8

ShottsBhoy

I suspect that if Celtic had, as reported, agreed a fee of £12m with Southampton and it is personal terms that are causing problems then any club matching the £12m will be allowed to speak to Vic. The bidding war (if there is one) will only benefit Vic with his personal terms, not Celtic with the fee. Why would Arsenal offer £15m when £12m is clearly acceptable by the club?

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy {Ed007's Note - The extra £3 million could cover agent fees and other expenses, wee don't know what the £12m fee was actually paying for.}

AGAIN ONLY SPECULATIVE RUMOURS, BUT I STILL THINK 1 OF THE BIGGER EPL TEAMS WILL STEP IN AT THE LAST MINUTE FOR BIG VIC, WOULDN'T BE SHOCKED IF LIVERPOOL THROUGH THERE HAT IN SOON, THERE LIGHT IN CENTER MIDFIELD AND GERRARD NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER PLUS RODGERS WILL have MONEY TO SPEND when SUAREZ GOES, IF VIC GOES FOR LESS THAN 15 MILLION I.'L BE GUTTED, BUT LENNY and LAWELL KNOW THERE BUSINESS. HAIL HAIL,
KEIGHLEY BHOY

Agree0 Disagree0

@ChrisBhoy I reckon it's his agent stoking the fire. I read your main post with all the bollox he has been spouting. Vic seems to be a gent in all this but his puppet master is spreading nasty rumours. I would like to see a direct quote from Vic regarding this. 15m is just what I heard so I don't know why arsenal would bid over 12 (if indeed they have made a bid at all) but Vic's signing on fee increases in line with the overall fee paid so it makes sense. HH ShottsBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The extra £3 million could cover agent fees and other expenses, wee don't know what the £12m fee was actually paying for.}

Yes, you're right Ed, we don't know. The actual transfer fee is in there somewhere. And it's nowhere near the anticipated £25m everyone seems to think we can command for him.
My point is that any club just has to match the transfer fee for Celtic to be happy, and somewhere in the supposed £12m offer Southampton matched the expectations of our club.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy {Ed007's Note - Not necessarily Chris. Say Southampton agreed to pay £12m + any agent fees, for example. Arsenal could bid £12m but say they are not paying any agent fees so it is between the buying club and the player to pay the agent fees. Then there is the player's loyalty bonus, they are due unless they have handed in a written transfer request, these usually cause trouble and is basically they only reason Samaras is still at the club. There are taxes, agents fees, taxes on agents fees, residual insurances, relocation expenses, arrangement fees all to be considered in addition to the transfer fee and then the wages in any transfer transaction.
This is the reason why I hate the way red-tops just throw out figures and everyone jumps on it and takes it as gospel.
Never mind that your average football supporter, pundit or writer doesn't understand transfers, the majority of players don't even understand the process, figures are dangled before them and they are told where to sign. The players have the simplest part of the deal, as long a they are not Wayne Rooney who is as thick as a box of rocks and struggles to write his own name :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite right Ed. Well explained.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy {Ed007's Note - Thanks Chris.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi ed,
Just a question. what do you mean regarding the only reason sammi is still at the club is down to the tie in with loyalty bonuses and transfer requests. Have I missed something with sammi?

HH
pfb79 {Ed007's Note - Samaras a given new contract on the agreement that he would be sold last summer. When it came time to negotiate Samaras severance payment (loyalty bonus) PL offered the player a lot less than has been agreed in the contract. Samaras refused the amount and went on to fight for his place, and most would say earn it. In simple terms PL tried to stiff Samaras and it back-fired on him.}
