Someone told me tonight that man utd were preparing a 10 million bid for wanyama and to sweeten the blow for us offering Powell on loan till end of season. Remember it's a rumour site, just sharing what I got told. No reliable source just what he said

Believable7 Unbelievable23

Im pretty sure powell is already out on loan

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take Van Persie on loan...? :)

Who's Powell? What position does he play ? Most importantely can he play?.......Stevie {Ed007's Note - He came from Crewe and plays as a CM/CAM and yes, he can play Stevie. He is one of the best young English players in the game just now, Crewe have a fantastic academy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't want Powell, we've got plenty better. {Ed007's Note - Who, we are crying out for a creative/attacking CM player so who do we have that is better in that position?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Tv isn't the greatest source but they made a good point after the game on Tuesday.

Man utd & arsenal are looking at victor wanyama however the Kenyen team is not in the FIFA top 100 (or something like that) so a work permit would be hard to complete before the 31st so if a bid was due in for him I would expect it to be Saturday/Sunday at the very latest due to the amount of paper work involved.

However there's always the summer but I think teams down south have took note that we don't sell cheap & IMO wanyama will be a Scottish transfer record

Lenny {Ed001's Note - there is one issue with that Lenny, the paperwork only needs to be submitted before the deadline, not completed. They can do the deal subject to getting a work permit, as Sly very well know because it happens every single transfer window!}

Jordan henderson-20m
Stewart downing-20m
Joe allen-13m

If any united fans see this then start the bidding at 15-20m

Wanyama won't go in this window...fergie will let him finish the season with celtic before making a bid. An I'd take powell in a heart beat, quality young CM....is he not being compaired to be the next scholes? I'd take that...some folk just don't watch enough footie or watch too much footie but don't understand the game properly.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he stays but we have to be ralistic. I honestly believe Wanyama could play for any team in the World. I hope that if/when hegoes it is to United/City and not Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reckon we all know he's probably off in the summer and like you say he can play at any team but United and Arsenal are both seriously crying out for someone like him. Arsenal could do with trying to rebuild a whole team round him but United would be formidable with him. Far cry from the Saint Johnstone game 2 Augusts back where the Gers press wrote him off after 90 minutes. Not an exaggeration to say that he's irreplaceable for us at the moment.Daviebhoy77

Agree0 Disagree0

Is not true
Man Utd are waiting till the summer and then they will swoop for Wanyama for (what they would consider) a bargain price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanayama is good but for arsenal to build a team around him lol, his long range passing aren't there, he's big, built yeah, but xavi he aint

Manchester United fan in peace. Rumour with us is that United might try to buy Wanyama now & loan him back to Celtic til the summer. No idea if true, just saying. Also heard the Powell on loan to Celtic' rumour separately, so may be true>

Hi Ed...heard this one? Heard from 2 different reliable sources that stoke plus cash are off to Leeds for becchio....stoksie reluctant as he thinks he can still do a job and is willing to knuckle down after heart to heart with Lenny....but Lenny has heard it all before!

Believable18 Unbelievable19

Too late for Stokes at Celtic, he's now excess baggage.

Agree1 Disagree2

How do you work that out ? was a regular scorer before he got injured, now he's back lets get him to full fitness and I have no doubt he will continue to score

daviebhoy08

It's been said before but i'll say it again.

I would be hugely surprised if we are interested in Becchio. He does not fit our current signing structure. Lennon & Lawell have both said that the plan is to sign youngsters, build on their potential then when possible move them on for profit. Becchio is 29, there would be no advantage to selling him on. This is a non-starter.

Terrible Beauty

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah PL and NL said that...but they also said if the right player became available at the right price they would see what they could do....the signing policy at celtic can change, we don't always need to go and buy young players and sell them for profit? Are we a selling team now? In a way I think we are but I'd like to think that PL and NL sign these bhoys with more of a view to keeping them than selling them on all the time. Celtic would only need to sell one top class player a season if we couldn't get to europe on a regular basis, and buyin young strikers isn't always the best idea unless there is a real talent there, we need a guy who knows where to be and when to be there...not a young boy runnin about trying to make things happen and not being where he should be at the right time in the game. Those who say becchio wouldn't be good enough for celtic clearly don't watch leeds play, for who they have in the squad he does ok on the goals front...I'm not sayin he would light up CP on a euro night, but he would get past a few SPL defenders and bag more goals than...bangura, miku and sammy put together. Not slagging sammy I love the big guy, when he can be bothered playing mind u....but becchio would out score all of them in a season. And as for stokes I think he's had more than a few chances....everyone mentioning the injury and goals, but no-one mentioning his off-field antics that clearly have upset NL, and I think NL has gave him more than enough chances to sort himself out, there are plenty of strikers that would love to pull the hoops on and not extract the urine behind the scenes, give them a chance.....get russell or that wee american agudelo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to agree with Beauty, we have a recruitment model now which Becchio does not fit into. Reckon Stokes will stay and may surprise a few people if he keeps his head down. Daviebhoy77

Agree0 Disagree0

If the right player comes up for the right price Celtic will do what's best for the club! Agree that their doing the right thing singing young and tryin to develope them but also nothin wrong with singing a player in their prime 27-31? Why bid for Maor Melikson 6 months ago if the club are so against it?

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with our new stratagy but as well we need to sign people that would play for the shirt even if they are old. The older guys can teach the young ones and the older players would stay longer instead of buying a new club of players each year.

Agree0 Disagree0

Folks what's with all this we have a strategy and he's too old for us. For goodness sake the guys only 29 ... Yes a whopping 29. Surely we might have to field a team with at least one or two players over the age of 22. I get the whole buy young promising players but we still need a mix in there. Stokes plus a million ( or something similar) for Becchio i'd do it in a second !!

Gary

Agree0 Disagree0

Depends on the fee for Becchio, stokes plus cash! i`m not stokes biggest fan, I wouldn`t mind seeing Becchio in the hoops, Keir

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon Stokes deserves another chance. He is still young and can hopefully still mature both mentally and as a player. All he needs is a few league goals and 2 show he is working on his attitude.
