Can't believe my ears, just heard after match press conference with Lenny. He states we were fantastic tonight and were unlucky and was very pleased with performance.
I'm sorry Lenny, but that tonight was total tosh, not acceptable for my beloved Celtic. If you think that's acceptable then says a lot for remainder of season. The only guy with pass marks was Kayal.
We are seriously lacking an out and out physical striker and someone to partner k Wilson in defence, Big Dan can keep walking, don't come back.
If there's no transfer business before window, we are in serious trouble. Success starts on the park, get ure fecking finger out Lawwell/Desmond, failure to invest has cost us greatly over the years, don't fall into the same trap again.

I totally agree with the original post, 100% spot on. Lennons faith in Sammy and Dan could cost him dear but not nearly as much as it will cost him if he continues to treat the fans with contempt and keep spouting such rubbish.

On another perspective i and i'm sure many others are feeling the financial pinch. i couldn't go to the game last night but i've been to every other game and to be quite honest i'm finding it quite tough to continue forking out the vast amounts of money it costs to go to games to watch us deliver pure and utter garbage against Sion and St Johnstone.

Pay up and give us the team we deserve or run the risk of hard up supporters saving there money for other and i dare say more essential things than watching second rate football on a regular basis

And why the board don't invest in the team so we can at least make a go of it in Europe where the prize money is obviously greater than in Scotland... {Ed007's Note - As far as I can see the money on offer is this (it is in Euros and a cut and paste from something I have on file), it does not contain any TV money, this is from UEFA:

2nd qualifying round: €90,000
3rd qualifying round: €90,000
Playoffs: €90,000
Group stage: €1,000,000
Group match victory: €120,000
Group match draw: €60,000
1st knock out round: €180,000

Ok you get your million for entry, but some of these "prizes" for games wouldn't even cover appearance fees, i.e. it's in fact COSTING clubs to play a game in the Europa league, especially for the bigger clubs like Spurs.

The Europa league should give more money and take it from the CL. For a lot of the clubs in it they're not spending 10 and 20M+ on players.

Daniel Majstorovic should never play for Celtic again. Sent off after 40 secs for firstly gettin caught under a long ball once again then making a tackle in the area that he didnt have to make. Them scoring first made absolutley no difference to the game. Let the guy go, Forster mite make the save but if he doesn't we still only need 1 goal and we still have 11 men. This is supposed to be the most experienced player in our team. Utterly shocking Less said about Ki for the 3rd goal the better i think.

Whoever wins the league this year should enjoy it because after next season will be the last we will see a scottish team in the champs league ever. Our game is in serious decline. Soon there wont be even a qualifying champs league place up for grabs and we will be in the same scenario as Fulham were this year. 3 europa league qualifiers with the difference being we wont get there. Very concerned.

I actually hope sion don't get kicked out of europe, because we are an embarrassment. How many years have we watched centre halfs make a fool of us (balde, tebilly, caldwell, mcmanus, the list goes on. Lenny will get himself sacked for sticking with clowns who let him down time after time (Sammy, maloney, etc) . I really feel sorry for the poor fans who follow us to all those away games, and spend their hard earned dosh to watch these prima donas.

As I said a couple of days ago, Scottish football needs some serious investment very soon or we will be having to go through all qualifiers like the Irish/Welsh teams. i know we r all hurting but it is down to the board not making money available. neil lennon prob has a list of targets the length of his arm but ther is no money available. as usual we r let down by players that shouldnt be anywhere near our club. I agree that no european football for 2 years running is unacceptable for a club our size but lets hope that we can get a few good players in and focus on stopping 4 in a row. Keep the chin up

ive never said a bad word bout lennon but where were the changes tonight how can stokes mccourt and commons sit on the bench when were chasing a game and on top of that samaras can shady his way through a game with little or no effort at times im beyond annoyed il support my team through good times and bad but when lennons bringin the trouble and the criticism on himself its hard too stick up for him.... i hope this doesnt mean theres no budget for new signins or we may as well hand the title over too the forces of darkness right now if were lookin for players within a tight budget why arent we lookin at jamie murphy le fondre or paul dixon there the problem areas right now and mayby zaliukas or ashley williams at centre back i know they dont make u sweat with excitement but theyd be practical signings that would improve our squad and wouldnt break the bank any thought ed ?

Ed you did not say yes or no there did they break the rules if so what would there punishment be {Ed007's Note - What Sion have done is a serious breach of FIFA/UEFA statures (laws), CFC don't need to lodge any form of appeal that I am aware of. Sion knew the consequences of fielding any of the ineligible players. It actually breaks FIFA/UEFA stature to take them to a court of law also, which they do not like as it is seen as undermining their authority. The Swiss FA fell in line with the court ruling although FIFA/UEFA did not. If FIFA/UEFA stick to their own laws then Sion should be expelled from the competition and there will be serious repercussions for Sion and the Swiss FA.}

Even if they do get kicked out i wouldnt want to go into the group stages as we cant even beat them its a bit of a joke really

It is never to late to remove a team from a competition, the hearing is tomorrow and there is only on factor that will decide if they are chucked out or not, UEFA are hoping Celtic do there dirty work tonight, by beating them means they don't need to chucked them out, if sion go through then they will be disquilfied from the competition as so far they have fielded 4 players who are not registered with UEFA as sion have a transfer ban at the moment

Surely if UEFA were going to kick them out they would have done so already. Think they are scared of the Swiss courts who backed Sion

Really hope your players dont go into tonight's game with the attitude that it doesnt matter about the result. UEFA are a law unto themselves, yes i am a Rangers fan but know that its important that BOTH teams go through or we as a nation drop 12 places in uefa rankings and end up having to playing qualifying rounds in June which canny be good for the future CAREBEAR

Firstly I am a rangers fan and hope Celtic go through tonight with what they do on the park.
Sion are taking legal action over a decision to punish them. Paul Mcbride showed us all last year that footballing governing bodies cannot operate outside of the law by dishing out unfair punishments. I wouldnt be to surprised if FIFA / UEFA back down just like the SFA did last year. Just a thought and good luck tonight

i just seen some good news, izaguirre had his ankle operated on successfully last week and could be back playing in november.

Rangers fan here.... Glad to hear Izzy's back in November. Really god player and by far the best in his position in the SPL. Having him back playing can only be nothing but good for scottish football. Best wishes Izzy

A club can not spend more than they make or they can not participate in European competition. Everyone is saying how it will have an impact on the Man Citys, Chelsea etc but it will also have implications on CFC and Rangers.

Hi Ed, I think as Celtic fans we have all been frustrated over the years by the fact that we have these very wealthy people on the board who appear reluctant to use their own money to support the club in terms of transfers etc as we have seen in the EPL.

Yes the UEFA regulations will have an impact but there are ways and means around this as Man City and Man Utd have recently demonstrated with large corporate sponsoirship deals which inflate the turnover. (one of the business which Desmond or O'Brien are associated with could do the same ?)

Surely at the level these two guys operate they could come up with some ways to provide some more funds for us to enable a long term plan in terms of acquisitions to be completed which would benefit both the success on the park and also the financial performance (e.g. purchase of Steven Fletcher and James McCarthy at the time would have generated substantial profits on resale and given us several years of these players contribuition on the pitch, these were players the fans were crying out for and we had a failed bid for Fletcher and a little more would have sealed him).

I understand the current climate and difficulties all round the football and financial world but certainly share the posters frustrations (as many of my fellow celts will) of having these people on board while 'they appear' not to support us more financially (unless of course things are going on behind the scenes that we are not aware of)

But despite the frustrations I and most of us are behind the team 100% and we need to ensure the 'negative' posters and supporters do not derail the good work already done and get behind the team for Lenny's first title which is paramount and more important than a run in Europe.

That will never happen EUFA can't even punish clubs for fielding ineligble players ffs

The guys are billionaires for a reason. They are excellent businessmen and therefore aren't going to just throw money at the club. I remember Dermot Desmond using millions of his own money to cancel out what we lost by not making th CL. So be thankful we have sensible owners and not someone like David Murray who will run our club into the ground.

Hi Kev, I agree we need to be sensible and I am gald we are not a 'Leeds' but it is also frustrating to have these guys on board with no apparent support above the shareholding.

I am not asking them to stick in 100 Million but a decent investment can also bring them/the club a return from both commercial activity and sell on values.

Well said ed it's ridiculous Celtic and rangers are a business and have to adopt a practical approach.some of the debt clubs in the epl have ran up is just obscene.in saying that spl wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the big 2. It's time the sfa got it's finger out and brought the country into the modern world with institutes of sport.etc.etc....

I think it woud be worth the risk this season to give Lenny £8-10m to buy 3 or 4 quality players and that will give us the best chance of a long run in europe (meaning more money) and winning the league (meaning champions league money). That way the fans get a winning team on the park and the club and shareholders recouop their money next year.
