{Ed007's Note - Have you been on Twitter?}

Valued at 12 million from West Ham- he's not worth the cash! so much better than him out there for that money! Villa had a bid rejected the other day! Can't see us going near him!

would rather have valencia from man utd, heard he is available.

Wouldn't take either. It's not the priority.

valencia been playing RB the past few seasons shug, better than what we have imo.

25 Aug 2016 14:04:39
At present I would argue that RB is our priority. If Lustig can't hasn't got the legs for it and Janko keeps up his last 4 displays then we desperately need a new guy in. Someone in the dependable Andy Hinkel mould.

You all seen the CL draw let us bring in three or four 30 plus year olds on £10 or 15.000 a week that have got some thing too prove that are going give there all for the club at home and in CL, the money is there and the club go get there men now.

Bastian schweinsteiger says man utd will be his last club in europe.
Source. Sly spurts news
Now we can out that rumour to bed.

{Ed007's Note - Must be off to Govan, TRIFC won't be in Europe for years.}

Henrik sorry not spoken to her yet! A friend from Liverpool told me that rumour down there is we are after Sakho and Lucas? Don't know how reliable maybe Ed can confirm I thought Sakho was a defender. There will also be a further few leaving Celtic.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything about us being in for a Liverpool player.}

24 Aug 2016 14:04:43
Spoken to a friend in Liverpool apparently rumours down there are Sakho or Lucas to us? Maybe Es can confirm if this is a rumour on Liverpool forums.

{Ed091's Note - Celtic couldnt afford eithers wage

24 Aug 2016 19:32:53
ed091 maybe winning trophies, the CL and good wage is what they want rather than money and no medals? I know they have the cash to show for the career.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed091's Note - youre right, theyre both signing so they can win a 1 horse race.

24 Aug 2016 20:31:52
Cheers ed091 with regards to wages I was told the marquee signing was not coming for the money but for the prestige of playing for club in Europe and to win trophies! Which makes me think this particular player may not have won much in career having played at high level 🤔🤔 what's your thoughts?

Agree1 Disagree8

{Ed091's Note - a club in europe after 3 seasons out despite being the only team capable of winning their division.... A scottish team in the CL is simply making up the numbers. If sakho or lucas want a massive wage drop, to move to scotland and be embarrassed in the CL group stages, then sure, celtic are signing them both. you heard it here first.

26 Aug 2016 07:32:37
Wrong ed091 we have not had 3 years out of Europe. This is the first time in three years we have qualified for the group stages of the cl. Can I ask you a question too ed091. What would have to the EPL if sky decided to pull out . and the only reason your league is bigger is because of sky TV money. If we had that kind of investment up here from sky our league would be as just as good as yours.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed091's Note - are you as deluded as BR? There are many reasons, which don't include money, as to why the spl doesnt come close to the epl. Location: who'd live in Motherwell over London?
Who would want to play in front of (majority) of minuscule grounds when you can play in front of old Trafford, anfield etc.
The weather, the food, the lack of home grown talent in Scotland and the fact it's a 1 team league, makes it an unappealing league.
It's really nothing to do with money.

24 Aug 2016 09:16:47
Ed, One name that hasn't been mentioned this transfer window is Martin Odegaard at Real Madrid. Is there still an interest in him or did that end when Ronny left.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - He'll either be loaned to another Spanish team or stay at Madrid.}

24 Aug 2016 09:47:45
Cheers Ed, One more question if you have time. If we draw Man City in Groups stage can we play Roberts against them, Assuming we don't buy him this week and its still the 18month loan deal.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Going back to when Atletico Madrid had Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois on loan, UEFA said that:

'Both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations contain clear provisions which strictly forbid any club to exert, or attempt to exert, any influence whatsoever over the players that another club may (or may not) field in a match. It follows that any provision in a private contract between clubs which might function in such a way as to influence who a club fields in a match is null, void and unenforceable so far as UEFA is concerned.
Furthermore, any attempt to enforce such a provision would be a clear violation of both the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations and would therefore be sanctioned accordingly.'

Basically even if there is such a clause in the loan deal it is not enforceable under UEFA statutes.}

Might not be able to inforce it but think it could wreck our good relationship with city though.

Roberts stated at the start of the season that if the situation arose then he would play against them.
Also remember Courtois being allowed to play for Atletico Madrid v Chelsea when he was on loan a few years back.

Seen somewhere than man city won't stand in his way if he wants to play against them.
