Seen us lose last minute goals at Milan, Juve and Lyon to name a few but this was the toughest ever.
Yes there were a couple of guys under par and we couldn't keep the ball long enough to stem the tide.
However they will not have a harder game for a long time and the jubilation and relief at the end by Barca spoke volumes.
I've seen The Celtic snatch a win many times in the dying seconds and when it happens to us it's agony and it will be the first thing I think about when I get up on Wed morning. But when I put aside the what if's and this player should have done this instead of that.....
I will remember how we took the Worlds best team (and player) to the 94th minute on their patch.
The next 3 games will be even tougher as the group is so tight for 2nd, 3rd and 4th, so I hope tonight doesn't deflate the Bhoys as they can take great credit and confidence from an excellent effort.

Well said JJ , i can't believe theres some so called jungle jims on tonight being negative about tonights performance......Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Good game gutted but more than expected before kick off we gave them a game and thats good enough for me ... but i think the next will be tougher being the home team we need to go forward more nothing to lose but i think they will have more room to pick us off with their passing

Agree0 Disagree0

Am a gers fan but well done

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers fan here i thought you played well tonight you definatly deservered a draw well played very unlucky

Agree0 Disagree0

Fraser forster played a blinder, any other game barca would of scored 5

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said mate couldn't have worded it any
Better. The bhoys done all is proud and were just unlucky in the end to lose at the death. The confidence we can take out of this but and install into our young team is unbelievable, they've certainly done us proud and made a name around Europe by taking barca to the very end on there own patch,
I genuinely think the bhoys can win in benfica if they keep the same desire and bravery they showed last night.
fear no one now, last 16hh

Agree0 Disagree0

You said "they wont have a harder game for a long time" well lets hope we give them an even harder game in 2 weeks at paradise

murphybhoy88

Agree0 Disagree0

I really think we can get something out of the next Barca match. The lads will be busting to avenge that last minute goal. Hopefully they still have some of those key defenders out cause then we could put their defence under real scrutiny at parkhead.

Quack.

Might sound negative, but here goes.this will also be my longest post to date.the difference between an england goalkeeper, and an england squad member,is summed up in barcas winner.joe harte would have thrown himself at that ball, and made the saves forster did,and probably have saved the first goal too.if we had been 2 0 down, and came back to 2 1,then ok.had we got beaten 3,4,or even 5 0,as expected, then ok.but to come that close, with the difference there is in revenue between the two clubs,is bloody annoying.so although im proud that we didnt get humiliated, and far from it,im disappointed that we didnt get a point.maybe thats a measure of how far we have come recently.and i know the big man had some great stops tonight, but thats just how i see it.hopefully we still go through, and tonight wont matter.but what a chance we had to make europe sit up and take notice.i think with barcas defence mostly out for various reasons, and not expecting too much from this match to be honest, we could have been a bit more attack minded.now lets get about them at celtic park.crunch into tackles.get the point we deserved tonight.sorry for the negativity guys, but im hurting like hell.p.s. watched it in a pub in birmingham, whos locals are now converted celtic fans.artybhoy

Believable7 Unbelievable19

It was a beautiful ball mate, no one except Alba read it, and even he hardly touched it. It was an enormous performance by Celtic, although there is a little dissappointment. Joe Hart doesnt just let in world class screamers mind.

Melb Bhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

I think you are off your head mate. Foster was world class tonight and above any form of criticism. I can't speak highly enough about that performance. You can't be attack minded against a team who has the ball for 80% of the game. NL got his tactics spot on. I will put your comments down to disappointment. We are all gutted which is a measure of our progress

Agree1 Disagree0

Forster was brilliant. That ball was so difficult to defend. Your right, you do sound negative!
No blame for the goal from me anyway.

Joeshmo1888

Agree1 Disagree0

The blame falls at forrest he is an imposter and never will be celtic class

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree with above post, forrest is caught sleepin for the winner. N how can u criticise forster? Best player on the night, could have been 4 or 5 without him

Agree0 Disagree1

Forrest is a right winger not a right back defense isnt his work, would jinky have cleared that?,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

To the original poster i think people over rate joe hart due to the media hes the first decent keeper england have had in years and hes let in plenty of howlers such as polands goal last week and forrest did fall asleep but to say he will never be celtic class is riduclous he won a few great free kicks tonight and worked his socks off but i do believe hopper could have worked harder i know its not easy up on your own but you wont make it any easier standing static and offside pull wide win free kicks and kill the game a bit!! so unlucky tonight though and the future looks bright!!
Donegal Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry artybhoy but thats not on. Forster was outstanding as was every man, including Forrest. This is THE best team of all time away from home and everyone fought for the jersey and played superb. Way, way, way too harsh. Gutted like never before but proud like never before of everyone of the lads. Hail, hail......martyc1888

Agree0 Disagree1

Artybhoy your talking p*** , why are you looking for scapegoats? ffs we've just competed with the best team in the world , we're all gutted that we never held on for what would have been up there with one of Celtics greatest results for many a year ,hope the newly converted Celtic fans are a bit more optimistic than yourself......Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Arty bhoy stop talking nonsense. Cast ur mind back a few weeks to Madrid. Did hart not make a major blunder in the last min to lose the game 3-2? Ur the only person I know that blames Forster. Obviously hurting and looking for a reaction.

Agree0 Disagree0

Joe harte would have thrown himself at that ball, and made the saves forster did,and probably have saved the first goal too.

Sorry Arty but I think you had 1 or 2 to many beers. No keeper would have got to the ball for that first goal. Those short crisp passes were outstanding. I would agree with Forrest being a bit slow for the second goal he never knew that he was behind him and should have been more aware of what was going on around him.

Other than that evry man on that field last night was outstanding.

Ian

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Fraser Forster was the reason we were still in the game up until the 94th min. He made outstanding saves to deny Messi and co. Well done big man!

JJ Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

What a ridiculous post. To blame that drivel on being disapointed is utter garbage. Every single one of us would have been devastated last night but I am pretty sure 99.9% would still be very proud of our players after that performance. Big FF was outstanding and cant be faulted for any of the goals. To say any other keeper would have done this or done that is just ridiculous and I hope you were just drunk last night and very embarassed today when you realise what you wrote.

As for the post blaming Forrest...dont even get me started on you

Absolutely shocking from the both of you

Mikey Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster who said Forrest is and imposter and not Celtic class. Did you take in much of last season when Forrest won a number of games single handed? In my opinion he has already done more in his Celtic career than the vastly overrated Mcgeady did. He is still learning and granted got caught out for the Alba goal but he is a top player in the making.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mikey it is all about opinion and i would say that Forrest was caught ball watching for the second goal. I am not slating him just making a point he should have been more aware of who was around him.

So proud to be a Celtic fan tonight. Every player from start to finish gave they're all. Football is a cruel game and we deserved a draw. But tonight I hold my head high, we defended heroically for 90 mins and stopped the best player on the planet. Celtic football club under Neil Lennon, this is truelly just the beginning of something special. Hail Hail

Celtic have the youngest average aged squad in the Champions League, no outfield players over 30 and they matched the best team in the world

Mrs E

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Fair enough 1 shot one goal but to say yous matched them is maybe just a tad missleading backs to the wall for about 88 mins out of 94 isnt matching your opponents brave and last gasp tackles yes ok but no hold up play loss of possesion and punts anywhere... any way from a bear unlucky and best of luck in a fortnight
jammydodger

Agree1 Disagree1

Jammydodger you are a kn*b,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Kbarry why just comment that he is a knob he is entitled to his opinion and he made a genuine point but manys a team cant match barca you only have to look at chelsea they won the competition and played exactly like celtic! No teams goes out to play that defensive but they are that good that you have to play like that
Donegal Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Jammy is in his jammies watching Corrie whilst we are watching our team in Barca against Europes elite. Away against Europes best team EVER we were outstanding. Good luck in D3 ya nobody.....martyc1888

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a rangers man aswel just wana say a big well done to celtic and neil lennon as much as i dont like him you gotta give credit were its due your doing scotland and yourself proud in europe long may it last and all the best for the return leg

Agree0 Disagree0

We were slightly unlucky to lose last night, but lets not kid ourselves, the goal was coming. Ninety percent of the time we won the ball, we just gave it straight back. Best chance we had to get something from them tonight with their defensive issues. I don't think we should kid ourselves on, in two weeks time it won't be any easier and if barca click we could get battered.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can u say tht when oldco got praise from media for doing the.same on route to ripping up manchester take ur div3 tinted specs and realise no other scottish team could have done what we done in the nou camp

Every player and every fan of Celtic should be proud tonight. Although we got beat it was an amazing display especially by forster, Wilson etc. We've proved we are a force to be reckoned with holding the greatest team ever until the 94th min!!

Jeeze! CL heartache again. But lets get it straight, every player can hold there heads high tonight. We were disciplined and organised and gave everything for the cause.Could have been a bit more accurate in passing coming out but lets remember who we were playing. Some of this team have two Euro championship wins with a world cup in between!Lets hope we learn and move on.In Lennon we trust? You bet!.......... green jhedi

team for tonight

forster
lustig ambrose wilson izzy
brown wanyama ledley mulgrew
sami hooper

4-4-2 with hooper dropping deep. looking for sami to win the high balls. easily go to 4-5-1 with hooper going up top, sami playing left mid and mulgrew moving into the centre. good attacking options, we can change formation quickly and have some great options on the bench. just shows how fluid this celtic team can be and the great strength in depth at our disposal.

got a feeling in my bones that were gonna do something special tonight. or it may just be my arthritis playing up!

No matter what the result is tonight id just like to say that im so proud to be a Celtic supporter and be part of this wonderful family.
I'm sure there are others who are in the same boat here and I know it sounds corny haha but its the truth. Win lose or draw I,ll always be proud of these buoys and our gaffer.
Lets go out and hope the bhoys play the way we know they cam and get the result were all dreaming of hail hail! X

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Good luck tonight.

If there was a time to play this team its now. They can lose goals.

I have to grudgingly concede that Neil Lennon has built a good young squad (still dislike the man greatly though)

outside bet 1-0 to celtic Samaras to score the only goal.

You "still dislike the man greatly" well get back to your own 3rd div page we dont need your stinking luck,.,.kbarry

I had 5 on sammi and 1-0 at 400-1. Was good while it lasted. Looks like a bad injury to sammi. I think they lost a bit of concentration when he went off.
Yorkiebhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol! Take a pill kbarry. I'm sure you dont like some people from our small div 3 team. I have my reasons for disliking him. Some football based, some personal. I however am mature enough to see past this and appreciate the job he is doing. A little extra luck would have you see out those last few mins. Grow up or man up!

So excited for tonight's game. I just hope we manage to get at their makeshift defence tonight. And we have to try and keep the ball for as long as possible as against barca every minute they don't have the ball counts
