Not a bad draw to be fair.

Let's hope they're not as good as they used to be. eufa making it harder and harder for us.

To be fair that's the one draw I didn't want. Hopefully some reinforcements before the tie as this is a potential banana skin.

23 Jul 2018 12:35:31
Hardest team in the pot.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Bollocks!}

23 Jul 2018 12:37:51
As long as we don’t get Red Star Belgrade we should be fine imo.

Agree1 Disagree1

23 Jul 2018 16:21:03
Will this be their first competitive match?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah, with a new manager and they've also lost their CB pairing and star striker from last year.}

23 Jul 2018 17:45:37
I just think it's bollocks that we have to go through this amount of qualifying rounds to get into the CL And play the Quality of teams that we have to get to it yet England Spain Germany have something like 4 teams? Already Qualified with some of them not played in the CL for quite some time its just not right.

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 17:56:47
What was the other teams we could've got.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 20:54:10
The draw is what it is. It probably could have been easier but it could've been worse. Conecentrate on the Norwegians then think about the Greeks. Both will be worrying more about us that's for sure.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Jul 2018 13:08:28
Pardon my ignorance but how have the Greeks got a better coefficient standing than us?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They have more teams picking up coefficient points for the country on top of Olympiacos (29) CL participation while in Scotland we only have Celtic picking up any notable points. Look at AEK who got to the Last 32 of the EL last season with a record of 2 wins, 8 draws and no losses compared to TRIFC and Progress
As individual clubs Celtic are ranked 47th in the coefficient table (POAK are only two places behind us) and AEK are 123rd, the next Scottish team is Aberdeen who are in 236th place.
I'd be more worried if we had to play Olympiacos but thanks to their president being a nutter it's worked out quite well for us.
If anyone had offered me Alashkert, Rosenborg and AEK before a ball was kicked I'd have bitten their hand off.}

Cheers Ed!

{Ed007's Note - No probs buddy.}

24 Jul 2018 21:46:02
So what Kind of teams can we get in the last qualifier?

Another bid for Mcginn knocked back.

Getting embarrassing now to be honest!

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 07:39:57
Let's just wait till Jan sign him on a pre contract then offer hibs 1 to 1 and a half mill.

Agree1 Disagree4

23 Jul 2018 09:21:37
Isn’t really embarrassing. Why would we pay 4 million for a player we can get on a pre contract in 5 month.

Agree5 Disagree1

23 Jul 2018 09:25:24
Just lucky there are no other clubs sniffing around or we could lose him, had heard that Derby were interested a few months ago think the £4 million price tag scared them off.

Agree1 Disagree2

23 Jul 2018 09:43:23
I was very much in the camp of just pay the money and get the player but I've heard a couple stories that hibs have twice put the asking price up when Celtic have bid.
If that's true we should walk away.

Agree0 Disagree5

23 Jul 2018 10:25:10
The time factor is the real problem, “still over a month to go in the window to bring someone in” not good enough considering it’s taken this long to get 3 bids rejected for a player. Still think we are weaker than last season with no Armstrong and Roberts. Very very good options to have and we’ve lost both of them. We have injury problems and are uncertain of many players futures. Yet we still muck about with our signings. I don’t understand it.

KenLikeEh I'd imagine our transfer business will really pick up after August 9th.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Jul 2018 11:10:31
I seen Fabian Schar is now being linked with Newcastle for 3 Million. Why are we not going for this guy. Really does baffle me when quality players like that slip under our Radar.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 11:15:34
We should move to sign a different player (and just wait until next summer to sign John on a free) . I am hoping we have a plan B. We will need one for AEK if we get passed Rosenberg.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 11:18:14
Why tho? Why does the premier leauge determine when we buy players. It’s ridiculous.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 11:19:21
We all appreciate Hibs stance as they want the best deal for their player but 4 million seems excessive to me for someone with a year left on his contract. Personally I don’t even think he is worth that with 2 or 3 years left on his deal.

Armstrong was different as 7 million is sweeties to Southampton but 4 million is a lot of money for us.

The problem for McGinn is that he only wants to come to Celtic and you very rarely get 2 shots at that. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us bringing someone else in and that will be his opportunity gone unless Hibs come to some form of compromise or he pushes for the move.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 11:35:30
How can we be weaker than last season. Roberts barely played a game last year. We have morga who looks a talent and young Mike johnson.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 12:01:12
Ken maybe we ain't going for schar because he's not a player that Rogers wants? Just a thought.

Agree0 Disagree3

23 Jul 2018 12:09:51
True that Kev. We can be weaker than last season because we’ve lost two players in two positions that were borderline starters for the club. We have not replaced them either. Morgan is also injured for qualifiers. So we are weaker. That is a fact.

Agree0 Disagree2

23 Jul 2018 12:17:07
Unless we sell someone, no one else will be coming in imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 16:32:57
If you don't pay the money for him now you won't get him simple as that there is a bid on the table for £3m but McGinn wants to play for Celtic but if Celtic don't come in with the money he will be sold x.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 16:54:55
cannot sell the player if he refuses to go mate.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Jul 2018 19:13:36
Hibsboy that's not exactly true but a risk all the same.
There is no 3 million bid. There has been an equiry about a deal that would reach 3 million.
But like tompo said if Mcginn says he's going no where other than Celtic hibs are risking ending up with nothing.

Agree1 Disagree2

23 Jul 2018 23:34:46
Spot on Kev. It won't matter if a team except a bid. All the power is with the players these days, especially this late in their contract. If they say they are not interested in going then the club can do nothing about it.

24 Jul 2018 00:20:08
Two words, Rod Petrie.

Agree0 Disagree1

25 Jul 2018 11:13:15
Trust me guys if Celtic don't come up with £3m which I think they will he won't be sold to Celtic. anyway I hope yer team hammer these people back into place lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jul 2018 11:15:18
It's not a lot to do with Petrie it's Leanne.
