Neil Lennon said on tv that Forest are in for Hooper.

It seems Forest are after the strike force as well as defense!

Believable3 Unbelievable18

Tv made it seem like that. Lennon was talking about Wilson and Forest. Saying kelvin played well tonight and doesn't want him to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets face it, there are only a handful of clubs bigger than Celtic and it is only with there tv money deals that make them bigger, most are in huge debt, just think what we could do with 30/50 million before we kick a ball.

And NF are not even near any of them.

You should not be able to run up 10s of millions and in some of the so called big clubs like MU.B.they are in hundreds of millions of debt, when will this stop, its a big deal to get hold of a billionaire owner but they run up hundreds of millions in debt how come no one has called it in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Forest in for Hooper?
yes they can bid 1.5 Mil for Wilson. Or even Forster, Lustig, Matthews, Mulgrew, Izzy, Ledley, Kyal, etc. It's just NL rattling 'Billy the handsome person 'Davies peas. Is there a link with Billy ansdScottish MSM or is that paranoia. Eamonn 1967

Does anyone have any idea who the striker we're in talks with is seems to be most msm outlets seem to be leaning towards Doyle, but Rudnevs has been mentioned by one. Has a bid been put to hamburg for him. Think I would prefer this guy over Doyle any day. Is he only coming up here to escape playing in league 1 pk1888

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Suspect it might be one of the evian guys. Have been saying for a while, that Evian have several players who could work well in our squad. Rudnevs would be great, but suspect he is too dear. Jean-Pierre Laguerre

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure I read somewhere (here?) that Baba Diawara is available again? Thoughts? Too pricey maybe. dopeydavey

Agree0 Disagree0

Dopeydavey - he didn't do well at Sevilla - don't know why, but can't see us going back in for him. jean-pierre laguerre

Agree0 Disagree0

If its based on money it will be the lesser of them, however if its on ambition Rudnev would be my shout.

NL says on Tartan Radio " we hope to get a couple of players in by Thursday and one for next Tuesday " . I hope so too Neil . DH

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I think he's just saying this to keep us fans happy! He said he hoped to get one in before tonight's game, then he changed it to two in by the end of the week, now this! Think we could be waiting until (if) we qualify.

Agree0 Disagree1

If he keeps adding players every time he sets a deadline then we we will be signing another 11 players

Agree0 Disagree0

He said the same last week, I didn't believe him then and I won't believe him now! We all know PL pretty well by now and we know that we will wait until the last minute to get a deal done at the cheapest price. We have made a small fortune in the last 12months, time to pay the faithful back for all their support with a decent player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fork out the dosh for rudnevs and the tunisian

So Ibrahim has been released by man city does that mean the loan contract is terminated? Don't know how good he is but so many u g talents get lost at teams like that if he's good then I hope we go all out for him, heard he's very highly rated

anyone know when tickets against elfsborg are going on sale for those who don't have a season ticket?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Tonight after the game, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Tickets go on sale after the Cliftonville match. The ticket office will be selling them straight after the match.

Heard through my little cousin currently playing for U21 at Sunderland that the Hoops have agreed a deal for Steven Fletcher on loan

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Aye right . So Celtic are taking players that have serious injuries and aren't even training yet . Talking sh@@e . DH

A lot of nonsense, stop posting rubbish, this is a Celtic site, we don't listen to rubbish ahim!!

Celtic ticket office open after game tonight to sell Elfsborg tickets £ 20 for ST holders . Would rather have had this game as a freebie instead of meaningless friendly on Saturday . DH

Heard hooper close to agreeing a contract extension with a clause of a top 10 prem club buy out prob lot of crap as we don't do clauses HH. jiggythetim

Believable3 Unbelievable19

Hooper want to goto engerlund at any cost so he won't sign a new deal. {Ed052's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

If Hooper is to stay because he is not happy with the standard of club coming in for him then he should surely sign a new contract as a matter of good faith, after all, if he does not then we are losing out on £5 million quid just because he thinks he should be playing for a top premiership side, not saying he will do that but just my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper should just sign a new deal, stay at Celtic for now because he ain't gna get a better team period.
unless he wants to go back to england for family reasons.Gbhoy

I have it on very good accord that the Striker Celtic are close to signing is Shane Long of WBA. Celtic have apparently made a £4.4million move with WBA looking closer to the £5million plus add ons. Also have heard talks with Gary Hooper last night were positive and Hooper stated he doesn't want to sign for a championship club but however has asked Celtic to respect his hopes of signing for a premiership side.

Believable10 Unbelievable24

After losing Lukaku back to Chelsea would seem strange for WBA to sell their main striker at a loss. Understand Anelka has signed but he is 35 and doubt any Premiership team would pin their hopes on a 35 year old scoring enough goals to reach their targets at the end of the season.

Maceybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to guess Long will cost a lot more than £5m.

Joeshmo1888

Don't want long I want rudnev

Agree0 Disagree0

Long is a terrific player. In my opinion. For whatever it's worth.

Agree1 Disagree0

For that kind of money you could get Adam le fondre and McKay Stevens

Agree0 Disagree1

Let's get real, we will probably never sign another player from the EPL, now or in the distant future, they all all on far too much money to come to us.Tam.

Agree1 Disagree0

I would certainly prefer Rudnevs, Long or Hosiner to Le Fondre & Mackay Steven. We need Quality (first team picks) not numbers. We have good kids coming through-any signings need to be better than we have. As far as I've heard teams are getting quoted 4 million for Le Fondre, no chance-he is an impact player, and Mackay Steven does something brilliant then disappears for 5 matches. Rudnevs will be better now for the experience in the Bundesliga, and would be a cracking signing - I feel with him you would be getting more for your money, Long is very quick/technically not great though and doesn't score as many as Hooper, Hosiner would probably score the most goals. We have had plenty off time to think about it though, let's get it done, to say i'm becoming impatient and exasperated is an understatement! Paul

Agree1 Disagree0

Thats a real Long shot.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm going to believe this merely because you used the word 'accord'. Well done!

SL

Agree0 Disagree0

We absolutely cannot compete with EPL transfer fees and wages under the current financial climate and healthy running of Celtic Football club.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know why people keep talking about le fondre. He is a lower league player at best. Far too small and light. Long has a great work rate but is very limited technically.

Agree0 Disagree1

To the owner of the post about Le-Fondre and Long, your having a fekin giraffe bud! Both would score for fun especially Long Gon bury yer heed plz

Bigbadjohn

Agree1 Disagree0

BBJ How much have you seen of these 2 players. Longs control is like banguras. Le fondre is a pen box predator but doew nowt else.

Agree0 Disagree0

More than u obviously ha ha?!
I'm not even going to go into why because your at the wind up bud.
Stick to what you know. Not a lot by the sounds of it!

With Lennon saying that our number 1 strike target is "someone we have liked for a while", we are being linked with Doyle and Rudnevs. Rudnevs would be the better signing but Doyle is far more likely in my opinion

LM67

Believable10 Unbelievable9

Anyone but Doyle. People get carried away because he's Irish.

He's pap.

Better off without him.

King Erse

Agree1 Disagree0

Lennon also said its a player that there has been no speculation on, so that should rule out Doyle aswell?!

Bigbadjohn

Agree1 Disagree0

Im not sure that it is Doyle that we are looking at as our no1 striker. If anything it will be someone that has potential to go on and earn the club a potential windfall in future. Who this may be I have no idea but Lennon said its soneone that hasn't been linked with the club.

Dannybhoy84

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Doyle is a bad player. He'll get stuck in and work his socks off up front, which is a necessity in the Champions League. I just don't think he'll score 30 goals a season

LM67

Agree1 Disagree0

Hamburg are in for Jelavic so it may depend on whether they get him if we can possibly get Rudnevs. Lenny also quoted as saying the target will score goals in the same manner as Hooper - this is defo not Doyle who has never been prolific. Maceybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be more than happy to take Kevin Doyle. He's a good goalscorer.

Henriks Tongue

Agree0 Disagree1

He'd get no more than 10 goals a season. Hardly prolific.

We have stokes, sammy, Forrest, commons all who graft chances etc.

We need someone to stick away the chances they make. Doyle is not the answer.

Johnny Russell was the answer but that shop has sailed so hoping its the Latvian lad he's speaking of.

Agree1 Disagree0

Telling ye its Jamie mackie

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't care if we end up with Hamish McTavish's wee sister's boyfriend's milkman who bought a pair of boots at a jumble sale.
If he can score goals he'll do for me.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the media have put 2 and 2 together with regards to Rudnevs - Jelavic linked with Hamburg + Lennon after a striker he's liked for a while = Celtic want Rudnevs

LM67

Agree0 Disagree0

With the level of of scotish journalisim I doubt they could add 2 and 2 lol
