Have been well informed that Celtic will move for Charlie Austin when Gary Hooper leaves in the Summer. Rami Gershon will sign a permanent deal, as will Viktor Noring.

Who is Viktor noring??

Agree0 Disagree0

Yasssss! The old well informed rumour patter is back. Was bored talking about the corruption in scottish football and that illiterate mob in the 4th tier masquerading as Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

When you say 'well informed' you really just mean uv made it up.

1. Gershon scored for israel today against portugal. looks to me like a great player and I want to see him play more for celtic. 2. Rhodes would be to me THE player who would replace hooper. scores goals non stop wherever he plays and also plays for scotland and is a celtic fan! I couldn't imagine us getting a better striker at the moment. please make it happen!

1. Gershon looked a nightmare in the takle vs Inverness on his debut, benefit of the doubt though (hopefully)! There must be something there for us to sign him, but its too early for me to say he's mince and too early for u to say he's great, here's hoping tho.
2. I would also like Rhodes in our team, but Blackburn will still want decent money, at least £5 mil!! Which in my mind can be recouped if sold on again in 3-4 seasons, but our board don't work that way so doubt it, Lefondre would do well up here too but he's another we missed the boat on, £400. 000 sounds cheap now when should have taken him.

I have to disagree bbj I thought he looked a real prospect on his debut and for my money will go on to be a very important player for us. if he's getting into the isreali national side he must be a decent player when you think he's not in our starting 11 proudcelt

I see a lot of the posts are about players leaving Celtic - and most of our better players too. I know Hooper is a certainty and probably Wanyama, although I don't know how much truth is in the Ledley, Forster and Kayal rumours and Commons is another, while Izzy has had apparent admirers?
Then we have Rogne and McCourt and the loan deal (s) that will terminate at the end of the season.
After such a great CL run and a chance of a League and Cup double I find it difficult to understand why so many could possibly be on the move?
Obviously money is a big factor, but the manager is trying to build and maintain a young successful team and I wonder if there are other factors why these guys would not want to stick around and become one of our finest teams for over decade?
Most teams lose a few and gain a few each season, but I hope we don't have a mass exodus.
We are very healthy financially and I hope the manager is given total backing, when trying to keep players or adding better quality where required.

Who do we think the front runner for Hooper is going to be in the summer? Looking like Norwich have tied up a deal for Van Wolfswinkel

Apparently Chelsea now interested in Forster too

Read in The Times today that Chelsea are going to move for big Fraser Forster, this cany be true can it ed? They have Cech, one of the best and that gadge on loan at Athletico Madrid who's quality tae Valued at 20 Million. But First time I have read The Times was at the Dentist don't know if they're full of s**t or there a Zombie paper or something. Hail Hail GhreenBhoy1888 {Ed007's Note - Chelsea are looking for a home-grown GK put I think the story is just someone putting 2+2 together and coming up with 5.}

So your you tellin me thit 2 and 2 isnae 5?

With regard to potential summer signings - Jordan Rhodes should still be our number 1 signing target IMO.
If Blackburn continue to implode they will get relegated. They are in a financial mess. As transfer fees are paid in installments, we could get lucky and pick up Rhodes for the original fee Blackburn paid. The full amount was based on appearances, goals and PROMOTION.
He has not really set the heather on fire there - although the team is sh1t£ to be fair. There might not be the scramble for his signature this time round (if there even was one last time).
Still a lot of money but he is THE outstanding candidate to replace Hooper PLUS ticks all the boxes for the guys on the board who sign the cheques (mainly his age). He is also a big enough 'name' to satisfy the section of the support who will no doubt be demanding Lawell spends the millions we have made (plus any fees for Hooper and Wanyama).
I won't hold my breath as we all know how we conduct our business these days - and I am confident John Park will have cracking prospects lined up already. BUT if the deal could be right for Blackburn, and right for Celtic - Jordan Rhodes would be a great present for the fans. Goals equals bums on seats after all. kbt1978

Not set the heather on fire? he's scored 20 goals in 32 games for a messed up side. Some record if that's him off form. he would scored 30+ in SPL no bother

Agree1 Disagree0

Rhodes has scored 20 goals in 32 games mate he's on 2. 184 Million a year tae, 20 goals in the Championship is like 30 in the SPL lol It's sad but true (Then again they do play like 8 extra league games than SPL and EPL) there's a guy at Birmingham who's on 65k a week and they were in Administration a while ago I think lol, It's crazy the wages down there. I am sure a Premier League club would get him as they would offer more cash Celtic would probably offer less, which is sad mate I'd love to see him in the hoops. Hail Hail GhreenBhoy1888

21 goals and counting I would say is a good return. would like to see him wearing the hoops. Austin is another one I like to see at park head. Mackay Stevens would be a great addition! I'm sure we will fill hoopers boots with quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

He will be on a huge salary - not to mention his last fee of £8M may have sell-on's?
I would say although the supporters would love to see him in the Hoops, he will not be on NL's wish list. To make it worse Kevin Doyle IS! More's the pity.

Fraser Forster likely to leave this summer to an unknown English team, most likely Liverpool if pepe Reina moves to Spain.
This will clear the way for a swap deal involving victor wanyama to man its and Anders lindegaard heading to parkhead.
£8m plus lindegaard is being mentioned but I would personally hold out for at least 10m, lindegaard is a fantastic keeper though, unlucky with David de gea in the team but he could do a job.
That just leaves us with a replacement for victor and I trust John park to unearth another gem in the wanyama mould. can see wanyama leaving albeit I really don't want it to happen, he isn't signing a new deal so get the big bucks while we can.
Would love to see serigne Kara at parkhead, only joined genk in January though, great replacement.

Any strikers do you guys think could do a good job if Hooper leaves? Realistic

Macdonald mariga to replace vic and rhodes to replace hooper. noel

Agree0 Disagree0

I really think Adam Le Fondre could replace Hooper, I really like the guy not the most consistent I am sure that would change when he plays for a huge club like us and experiences European nights at Paradise. When he was on form super sub every week I thought he was really exciting every time he had the ball and even off the ball with his movement he was a predator, something we really need. Hail Hail GhreenBhoy1888

Agree0 Disagree1

Greenbhoy, I also think Lefondre is more realistic price wise but could also be the better choice? We should have singed him when we had the chance (ok it was 2 yrs ago, so nothing certain! But we've still got duds in the squad) for £400. 000 there was no risk/gamble.
There's now EPL teams sniffing about, but will he play week in week out or be supersub?
