Rangers Fighting Fund has finally reached £110,000. Congratulation to the Shame. That means that the 250,000 of them who had a "nice day out" in Manchester have donated the grand total of 44p each. Now that is how you love a club. #ScotlandsShame

Believable17 Unbelievable4

Rangers average attendance this season is 46,242. If each of them paid in £10 the fund would be £426,420. It looks like they actually do walking away after all. Will their Flag Tax on Sunday backfire on them, they don't do paying taxes do they?

Agree0 Disagree0

Read some where that total donations to date was 150k and that 6 number donations made up a total of 130k leaving a massive 20k donated by the 250k that travelled to manchester or the 44k that "attend" home games ...well done lads TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think you's paid the correct taxes under the kelly regime holy 1 pots & kettles, & I think you will find the fighting fund will rise considerably on sunday as most fans have been asking 2 make donations at the matches, hows willie getting on with the death threats from the worlds greatest supporters doesn't matter he's just a referee from scotland so lets just get on with it

Agree0 Disagree0

My mate, a Rangers fan, won £100 at the bookies after Killie beat Celtic. When I suggested he donated it to the Rangers he said "I already pay enough to go watch them." Loyalty is amazing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yesterday afternoon it was over £150k the problem is no Rangers fans will donate heavily in case of liquidation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its no twitter

Agree0 Disagree0

The club will always be here, that post is just through jealousy . Myself as a season ticket holder - when you pay £418 pound for a season ticket , go to away games and my travel from northern Ireland every other week... I still have donated to the club, I purchased a red and black scarf and will be buying a few union jack flags at Sundays game and will be attending the legends game next Friday nite! So you worry about ur club we will worry about our own!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've heard about the red and black scarf but think I have missed the boat on that one! Can someone tell me what thats for??

ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The shame above we will talk about anything we want on OUR site , dont like it piss of back to the dark side ,fab1

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do the flags have to be union flags could they not just have sold ordinary rangers 1s

Agree0 Disagree0

There selling union jacks for the simple reason we are a British club !! Same as celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

It's actually the "union flag", but i suppose when you think about it ibrox is some sort of sinking ship, so why not call it a union jack!?
The point i think he's trying to make is that no club in the UK endorses the union flag as much as rangers! and also, at a time when marketing and solidarity would do you the world of good to entice a prospective buyer, there's nothing that would look better than thousands of rangers flags rather than a large display of nationalism! keep it about the football.

Struggling to understand the use of the term "Shame" when refering to Rangers. Granted the riot/fight/behaviour of a small percentage (0.02%) of fans in Manchester was terrible but hardly constitutes the use of such a powerful word.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree when it comes to shameful events I believe the honours are about even. There have been some truly disgraceful events from both clubs and both sets of fans over the years. People in glass houses and all that....

Getting worried about Sunday, we've been terrible against wee teams lately. Na not worried. Maybe cup final will give the players a kick up the arse. Glad to see Brozek scoring in a bounce game against the pars and Izzy playing the full 90.

Think we need to start big Sammy against Rangers, he always seems to pull something out the bag against them.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Play the development squad against them. The team that beat Dunfermline. That way if we lose we lose with the second string. If we win or draw what a Shame! Lennon can show he is afraid of no one in the dressing room and he sees who in the second string is able to cope at Ibrox. Remember the way we played against Kilmarnock we could lose with a full team!

Agree0 Disagree0

I will get probably get pelters for this, but I do think we have a problem with 'bottle' in that dressing room before 'big' games and it has been evident since the Ross County game.
Ok we won the Cup Final last season, but Motherwell were pretty awfull if you remember?
I don't know if it stems from the management team or the expectation is too heavy on a few young heads but I worry going into crunch games every time and I hope we turn up this time...

celtic at war with the rest of the spl bout split in money that is recieved from sponsors

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Its about time we stopped going to away games lets see how clever the other clubs are without 5-6000 away fans! Im sick of how they raise the price when we are due at there grounds....AS

Agree0 Disagree0

This is why it's important for rangers and Celtic to work together - everyone else is trying to make a move as rangers are in bother. Neither of us are getting outa this league so we may as well bite the bullet and work together.

J

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats what i've been saying all along(i'm a gers fan btw) if rangers vanish which is still looking quite likely then the other teams will do their utmost to hang celtic and get a much higher cut as in everyone gets the same. it has always been the case that the old firm back each other up against the rest as they have the biggest draw for sky etc IF gers survive this needs to continue IF they don't it might get rough for celtic as they will be outvoted all the time

DJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we could divy the tv money up a bit fairer

David

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as I am concerned TV money is divvied up correctly. eg. Dunfermline this season will be on TV a maximum of 4 times if they have 2 home games against ourselves and Rangers prior to the split. A maximum of 2 tv games if they only have 1 home game against us both prior to the split. If they made the top 6 they would possibly get another 2 games. A maximum of 6 games a season at the very best so I ask why are a team like that entitled to more money. Celtic and Rangers are on TV every single week and including playing each other 4 times a season, quite possibly our games could be on TV 30 times a season. This is the reason we deserve more TV money.

I have a dream for Sunday. Hearing the vile chants and singing at Dundee on Sunday from that mob (WONDER IF THEY WILL GET PUNISHED) my dream is that ALL Celtic fans sing the wonderful reportoire of songs that have made us welcome where ever we go in the world. Lets show Sky and the worldwide audience that we are a dignified team and our
supporters are in party mode.

Believable19 Unbelievable6

Totally agree. hope the green brigade put on a dignified show for the world to see hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it would be great if the Celtic fans would leave the Pro IRA / offensive songs at home and make the orcs look bad in the eyes of the rest of the world. But it will not happen, We should be going there to celebrate and really wind them up about the state that they are in. I hope that I am proved wrong. Lets have 2 hours of nothing but songs about Celtic and finnish off with a huge 7000 fans huddle.

We are all ever so quick at turning on people are we not? Fair enough forrest hasn't been at his best, but this lad has quality and pace? As for not lacing mc geadys boots, mc geady was quality, but did he not go through a spell where u were as good as a man down and still played every game? And samaras is this the same player we were desperate to get rid of less than a year ago, very short memory lads! So quick at jumpin on the managers back, what if's and what could have been's!

Believable13 Unbelievable4

I couldn't agree more, all of this negativity towards the players and management is pathetic! Yea, a lot of players under performed against Killie but we lost because of a fantastic goal keeping display and nothing should be taken away from Killie! Lennon will have the players fired up and ready to take on rangers this weekend! Time to move on from league cup and concentrate on the league!

Well for once i was disappointed in the journalism from C4 last night, expected them to dg up something new. That said Regan was squirming in his seat and i think theres a lot more to come from that angle. Can but wait i suppose. ut still no hard evidencve however i really doubt any evidence about possible mideeds in the EBT's due to the probable legality of these documents being aired when they are being used as evidence in the tribunal. possibly.

Still like my idea of selling the SPL/EPL rights to North Korean state tv! can just imagine a wee official coming out " this does not please our glorious leader, this match will continue untill there is a scoreline that pleases, if there are anymore 0-0 draws or teams parking the bus players will be punished with 3 months labour down the mines!"

Evinguu {Ed007's Note - There is a lot more to come out Evinguu according to Alex Thomson.}

Surely Rangers have all the necessary paperwork before their begging begins on Sunday?

licensingBoard@Glasgow.gov.uk .

Good Morning , As a Glasgow Citizen and Council Tax payer i was concerned to hear that there may be issues regards Rangers Fighting Fund Group and their attempts to raise money for the club by demanding minimum donations in exchange for a Union Flag at this weeks Old Firm Clash. A Learned colleague has made a few points and I hope you can ease any fears that this fund raising is perfectly legal as obviously no-one would wish to break the law.

1: For any charity collections, 8 weeks notice should be given to the Council. Has this been received and approved?

2: Ibrox Stadium and its surrounding area is an exempt area for street trading. Does demanding a minimum £2 per flag contravene this decree? My colleague directed me to

www.glasgow.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/ 13337ADE-189B-4B19-84F1-7F17BC85CAC5/0/PCCGUIDErtf.doc

and refers to section 3 regards Charitable status.
My colleague also points out Section 15a of

www.glasgow.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/ 13337ADE-189B-4B19-84F1-7F17BC85CAC5/0/PCCGUIDErtf.doc

Can you confirm this fund raising is entirely above board and approved by Glasgow City Council please.

Believable16 Unbelievable5

Is this classed as a charity collection as the monies collected are going to Rangers, who are not a registered charity. Is it not a straight forward sale of goods by Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

If is a Sale of Goods, then liable for TAX or are they exempts....I guess the kids will need to skip lunch another day...

Im loving the press blackout at Celtic. To sell their rag, the DR have
published a story from a game in 1999 featuring Vidar Riseth. Bottom
of the barrel me thinks. LETS ALL LAUGH AT THE DAILY RECORD.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Its getting beyond a joke, tae try and take the heat aff the fact the walls are crumbling at ibrox they have tae try make us look bad.

its amazing the amount of manky mob on a social network site coming out their shell since we did nae get treble......they r that thick they seem tae have forgotten whatever we win will be mare than them fur a few seasons. HAIL! HAIL!

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality up to date journalism.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems to be only good news coming out of IBROX lately and you cant handle it , heard anymore about keans contract, part payed for by desmond that brakes SFA rules ? thought not

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly what good news has come out of Ibrox:

Craig Whyte has agreed to sell the club? NO

Craig Whyte's floating charge has been ruled invalid? NO

Rangers have agreed a CVA with their creditors? NO

Rangers have won the Big Tax Case? NO

The Ticketus deal has been ruled invalid? NO

You've paid of your £15m to HMRC for unpaid PAYE, NI and VAT? No

So exactly what good news has come out of Ibrox? NONE that changes the current position for Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Mar 2012 08:57:14
Good Morning ED007, on the subject of SFA now asking all SPL clubs to declare any and all contracts and payments going back 10 years, do you think SFA are
1) trying to find other clubs using similar methods and group them with Rangers
2) one of my friends said Celtic used an EBT for Juninho and perhaps others do you think SFA are hoping to tar Celtic with unethical usage also
All this smells of SFA trying to get a get out clause for Rangers by saying
look other clubs used dodgy methods lets give everyone an amnesty and
move on, digging them and Rangers out of a deep hole. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - Regarding Juninho using an EBT Tim, Brian Quinn looked at it, decided that it was not good business practice so it was cancelled and all outstanding monies were paid in full, there is no case to answer. It smacks of SFA desperation, trying to cover their own failings of doing their job properly.}

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Celtic came out months ago and said EBT's were looked at but the were "too dodgy". SFA trying to bail Rangers out and say Celtic were up to it too. SFA and Rangers will be hammered from Uefa for this. Celtic really need to get out of this courrupt league and start the Atlantic league or make a decent push for England

Agree0 Disagree0

ED007, it seems we had good people in place looking after best interests of Celtic Football Club, good to know our club never stooped so low. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - If a Governor of The Bank of England thought EBTs weren't worth the risk it shows that they were always a questionable method of payment.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for clarifying that one Ed and good Question Tim. I think many of us are breathing easier. {Ed007's Note - You're welcome.}

Agree0 Disagree0

These desperados at the SFA make the Corleone Olive Oil Co. look like The St Vincent de Paul.
Campbell Ogilvie is an absolute disgrace and these other cronies closing ranks and sabre rattling are just buying time to invent a plan 'B' to assist the Manky Mob in yet another cover-up. We all know the past dubious deeds and the culprits at the SFA over the decades so we know what to expect from this 'crime family'.

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

According to the films the Corleone family had honour and balls...this lot are like vermin and parasites with no honour and there are more balls at a Eunuchs convention than we see from that lot!

Agree0 Disagree0

JJ you've got it in one , Rangers and the SFA are as one , a cabal of cheating torags who are now trying to cover up their corrupt dodgy dealings by implicating others .

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would that be tha same sfa with Liwells lap dog Regan, and the impartial compliance officer Lunny? Septic fc the establishment club.
