I am absolutely delighted to announce that Malky McKay will not been announced as the new Celtic manager!

Believable8 Unbelievable4

20 May 2016 18:46:48
But he had a 5 year plan!

Heard from an extremely reliable source that brendan rodgers will resign by xmas and be replaced by the one and only malky mckay.

Agree1 Disagree2

20 May 2016 20:04:44
As much as I am really happy Brendan Rodgers is our manager I think Malky McKay did a stupid thing he has paid for it now. ( He who has no sin cast the first stone) Is every one that has slated the man not passed a bad joke about some one or a group of people? not directly meaning what was said about them just saying as a joke Maybe I am old school (not as politically correct) as some but I know I have but not meant it as harm to any person or group and I am sure a lot of people that have condoned him have done that to.
I just wish people would let him get on with his life he did not say it to the person Directly it was just meant as a joke
He did not Kill any one. AND I AM DEFINETLY NOT SAYING HE WAS RIGHT IN SAYING WHAT HE WAS ALEGED TO HAVE SAYED.

Agree8 Disagree2

20 May 2016 20:34:49
Tony, people aren't slating Malkay Mackay for the jokes he may have passed, it's more on his lack of managerial ability I feel. What has he done that tells you he should be manager of our great club?

Agree2 Disagree0

20 May 2016 20:44:57
Totally agree tony. Everyone's entitled to their mistakes. What was done in private should have stayed private. No good came from it.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 May 2016 21:37:47
I agree to an extent, but if you are a figurehead/ role model/ spokesperson for any institution you have a greater responsibility to act accordingly.
Obviously everyone should be treated the same, and we should all treat everyone as we expect to be treated, but if you in a position of responsibility you have to set the example.

I personally think malky is a good manager and agree with tony that he has paid for his mistake, but I don't believe he was the man for the Celtic job. Good luck to him anyway.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 May 2016 01:08:59
should Brendans misdemeanours be scrutinised as much as Malky's?

Agree0 Disagree1

21 May 2016 11:45:07
Aindoh- neither are as bad as Lennon's.

Agree6 Disagree1

21 May 2016 14:39:01
PTT what relevance is NL tot this discussion! you are coming across as a self righteous bore with in an insatiable hatred of the man. Let it go and enjoy the future at Celtic Park.

Agree0 Disagree4

21 May 2016 16:05:33
It's not his past actions that I'm glad he is not coming but the fact I do not rate him as a manager one little bit!

Agree1 Disagree0

21 May 2016 17:04:41
Grout64 what PTT said IS VERY RELEVANT. Topic is about misdemeanours. NL threatening physical assault towards women (and that's just one of many vile things this thug has done) is worse than what both BR and MM have done. PTT was just highlighting fact as NL was also interested in return to job

Theres a clique on this forum including yourself, who are happy to run through other managers yet it is forbidden to critise that thug!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 May 2016 18:41:43
Cheers DN30, you saved me saying it. It was about context and hypocrisy - which is why it was directed at Aindoh.

One thing though Grout, I think you are confusing me with someone else. I have no hatred for Lennon, let alone an insatiable one, nor am I constantly bringing him up.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 May 2016 22:22:20
PTT perhaps I am and if so I apologise. I am delighted to have Rodgers as our new manager, it's a better appointment than I could have imagined. I just think we should focus on that and not have it as an excuse to malign NL who was a great player for us and a successful manager. anyway it's been an excellent few days.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2016 22:27:30
DN 30 you are so right everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mine is a man is innocent until proven guilty can you direct me to any convictions NL has for his thuggish behaviour? he is undoubtedly the victim of many crimes.

For your information I am not part of any clique my comments about RD never once referred to any personal issue or criticism. I only spoke about his ability in relation to managing the team. But I can say now to you I was right and you were wrong this is incontrovertible.

please also stay away from the caps lock key it is just bad manners.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Come on Grout, Lennon publicly apologised about it all and was lucky to keep his job at Bolton over it.}

21 May 2016 23:01:59
Fair enough Ed, I don't have as much knowledge about this as others. just out of interest and not to start a debate did he admit to making threats to harm this woman.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate he admitted it. If he hadn't he would have been sacked. He also wasted money on lawyers and court costs trying to put a D-Notice on the story.}

21 May 2016 23:21:34
No worries buddy. It's been a good few days right enough.

Heard from a few sources than Lennon has been given the GREEN light today to start planning for next season. Rodgers unable to resolve contract situation at Liverpool and Lennon to be unveiled on Sunday/ Monday.
Hope I'm wrong and I will be logging in after an announcement is made 1 way or another and will be happy to take the flak if wrong but 1 of my sources is in the know and rarely wrong about these things.

Believable0 Unbelievable12

20 May 2016 16:24:14

20 May 2016 17:06:35
youll defo be taking flak bud, lennon isn't wanted by fans or board apparently, stupid decision and since it looks like DD is taking the reigns on this one i'd expect keane or rodgers, didn't mind lennons tenure but backwards step imo,

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 17:09:34
Psychic, your source is rubbish. Brendans just been announced as the new manager!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 17:10:58
You're never a Celtic supporter Psychic sid - I knew it from your first post. Anyway we don't read tea leaves and rub crystal ball's - that's left to that mob from Govan, who we all know are in league with the Devil.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 17:13:47
Sid you don't half come out with them mate. I actually thought you may have been psychic until you told us you had a source! Let me down there. Anyway, this morning you posted stating you were worried about the prices bookies were placing on potential candidates. What I think and tell me if I am wrong, you have watched Lennon's price fluctuate and decided to come up with that ' the dug ate ma homework' type story to get a reaction out of idiots like my good self.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 17:16:42
Just confirmed Rodgers! Psychic go back to blackpool reading crystal balls.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2016 17:17:15

20 May 2016 17:18:43
Your source is a big fat liar mate. just been announced Brendan Rogers.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 17:19:06
Nae luck Psychic sid - Rodgers is the man. Get in. I'm the first to slate Lawwell and Desmond, so fair play, especially to Dermot. If it doesn't work this time then at least we know we gave ourselves a better chance than previously! Have a great Friday troops. I'm in a good mood as I head to the boozer after work. I'll be thinking of you Psychic sid as I tan my first pint of the black stuff. 😜.

20 May 2016 17:28:26
Hey Sid let us all know when you are back.

20 May 2016 18:39:23
Right Sid I'll just get my gun.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 22:54:53
Fair play, guys doesn't really matter all that matters is that BR is the man to get us into Champions League.
Hey 1st post as predicted by crystal ball from Blackpool 🙈 was Rodgers was signing on £20k per week, £500k league win bonus and £1m champs league qualification bonus after he sorts compensation with Pool within 48 hrs, the crystal balls never wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 13:44:37
I've just been speaking to Ed002 and according to her, if it hasn't happened yet Celtic will soon receive an offer from Arsenal for Kieran Tierney.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

20 May 2016 14:14:30
Will it be accepted? We will see the clubs real ambition now.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 15:01:03
I'd accept no less than £15mil. Prices in England are going up year on year so ours should too. I'd hope he'd fancy another few years here though, with Liam Miller and Danny Wilson the reminder that big moves at a young age don't always work out!

Agree2 Disagree1

20 May 2016 15:43:35
£15 mil and at least a year back on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 15:55:20
Kid seems to have a sound head on his shoulders and his Dad is his agent would have his interests at heart rather than his pocket. With Izzy off it would be a ridiculous move for the board who would only see his value increase if we make CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 15:56:13
He need only look across the Lennoxtown pitch at Scott Allan.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 16:15:02
It's a big risk. He's had 1 really good season and £10million is a lot of money for a good season. Would you have taken £10 mil for emilio after his first season? Prob not, Would you have taken £10m in hindsight? I'd personally keep him, I don't think you can put a price on the heart the Wee fella has. We could maybe replace him with someone of the same ability but it'll be really difficult finding someone that has the same motivation, dedication, work rate, desire etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 16:25:42
Seen where Izzy will be back for pre season training. Has new boss been in touch?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 16:55:25
It's a full house of great points here.

@TTTS, it will be a test. If I were PL I'd say come back in a few years. My pesimist head tells me we'll negotiate a deal now though.

@LM67, i know it's meaningless really but £15m is the number I had in my head, PLUS add-ons and sell on %. This is where PL shines. The money the BPL has now is crazy, it's them that should be exploited, not us.

@GreenOak, if we do a deal now, we should really be looking to keep him temporarily.

@Daviebhoy, that's important to note, his dad being his agent; however the decision really will lie with PL now.

@PP, nice one. Again.

@Adman, it's hard to buy passion. We wouldn't replace KT with 10m. And that's mainly due to the total fantasy scenario of us spending that on a replacement.

@Ed007 and Ed002 a. k. a Natalie Sawyer, keep up the good work (yes)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 17:00:26
How much will they bid Ed? What do you think it would take to prize him?

Given he is just tied down to that new deal surely it would be a record Scottish fee? No point letting Izzy go then either (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea mate, Ed002 doesn't talk much about money involved in deals because it just complicates things.}

20 May 2016 12:19:06
Hey Ed some other reports saying manager be announced Monday at the earliest or Tuesday at the latest plus I heard that joe allen n Jordan ibe couid be BR 2 sginings.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

20 May 2016 12:41:49
Pinch of salt (for obvious reasons! ) but I'd take those two all day long.

Slight tangent. If (still big if) it is indeed Rodgers, I think Roberts will really flourish.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 May 2016 10:54:26
Read on sly spurts that motilivo from Milan is about to become a free agent this summer, his wages would probably be high but surely it's worth paying for a player of his quality what's everyone's thoughts on him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 May 2016 11:32:29
Hopefully if the board are going for a top manager then the wage cap might need to be smashed to get top quality players in . What do you think ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't hold my breath on it but stranger things have happened.}

20 May 2016 13:46:37
He's been suffering with injurys so the last thing we need to be doing is paying a fortune for another player in the treatment room!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 14:13:42
I'm hopefully not going to come across as one of the "if we spend money we will end up like the real Rangers" crew but where do we draw the new line?

Hooper wanted something like 32k to stay, we lost Ledley because we wouldn't offer him a pay rise above the wage cap. Those are certainly 2 recent players We should have considered breaking the wage cap for at that time. Both were sold under market value and giving the new contract and selling after a year would have been more cost effective.

If we didn't do it then I can't see it happening now.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 08:14:15
Rodgers odds on becoming manager have drifted from 1/ 50 at Betfair to 1/ 4 from high street bookies 1/ 9 to 1/ 6 still odds on but then again Keane was the same before KO the move.
Malkay McKay has went from 16/ 1 to 8/ 1 hope this doesn't make a difference but it is a tad worrying.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

20 May 2016 09:58:49
I wouldn't be believing the bookies with their odds, are they not designed to make people place bets? They also said a Liverpool player was favourite to score the 2nd goal on Weds and we all know what happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2016 15:43:39
No odds are reflective of probability, the greater the odds the more money they have to pay out and the less likely it will happen. Rodgers is now 2/ 5 from 1/ 50 essentially 20 times less likely to be appointed manager than he was yesterday meanwhile Lennon is 3/ 1 from 8/ 1 more than twice as likely to get the job.
My mate the bookie also advised that even small bets change the odds on these markets a fair bit as there is no form to go on so Bookies cut the odds when a particular candidate is backed as they think the person placing the bets have inside info.
