Neil Lennon has told Peter Lawwell that if Celtic do lose Gary Hooper he wants either Adam Le Fondre of reading or johnny Russell of Dundee utd

Believable11 Unbelievable10

How do you know this ? did lenny text you after he spoke 2 peter lawwell lol readin wouldn't sell le fondre anyway especially in this window fightn relegation get real

gunniebhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we dropped interest in Le Fondre when he decided on Reading ? As for Johnny Russell I'm not convinced, I'd rather stick with young Watt. Also what about this Juan Aguelda from the States, what's the story on him now ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive said it time and time again
russell and mackay steven should be top on our transfer list.
hear me out.
lennon said we wouldn't be signing anythng major because he ddnt want to upset the team harmony.
fair enough, i'm sure ud all agree that's nice.
if hooper leaves we still have plenty forward options (maybe not for winning the CL but that's no hapnin...this year anyway) but the addition of russell would strenghten that force, especially in SPL. feel we could do with mackay steven to give us an option in that lefty winger forwardy role samaras plays, now that sammy would be moving up front with hooper mayb away.
not to mention they are both emerging scottish talents! which we lack.
and the fact russells a hoops fan!
bring them both now!
neil lennon, when your not txting the guy who posted here (lol @ gunniebhoy btw), gonae read this mate!
enough said for now
am away before ma potato wedges burn.

So nothing's changed from a few days ago, Hoopers still the best we've had since "The King" Totally different kind of Striker but for goals scored he's up there!
Don't want him to leave but the writings been on the wall and Eds been spot on, he just wants to play in Engurland!
Anyway get to my point, hopefully Sunderland bid for him as they usually pay over the odds, but this time they will get a player who can deliver!! Lennons said"I can't guarantee hell stay" If he goes in this window hopefully it's soon so we can get someone else in not a rush job like Miku!

Bigbadjohn {Ed007's Note - Sunderland have asked to be kept up to date on any developments on Hooper's situation.}

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Hope mon goes for him if he's as good as you say safc

Agree0 Disagree0

If sunderland comes in for hooper, i'd take 6.5 and Connor Wickman as make weight .

So is that Gary hooper has a release clause of 8m is this why Celtic are trying hard to keep this under the radar and get him to sign a new deal. I'm so upset that this has been mentioned report has it hoppers agent emailed Norwich with this details. Strange one if you ask me but if someone bids 8m has to be accepted.

Foreverceltic {Ed007's Note - £8 million has been the asking price since May last year.}

Believable4 Unbelievable11

8 million is good business for Celtic. They better make they're move sharpish though because we'll need a replacement brought in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed007 didn't realise new to site and how all the Celtic fans on here have been and how rude they have been to Norwich fans seems like they want 20m lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

8 million should be easily enough to bring in a great replacement.. Charlie Austin anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

I find it hard to believe that a player signed from Scunthorpe would have a trigger that high in his contract.........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Op I thought the same thing but the asking price is 8m and I belive he is worth more and all I can think is that Celtic put such a high trigger on him incase he turned out a superstar so fast and to stop bids like norwichs bid but I wonder if Norwich can afford 8m on one player if so yes they will have a very good striker but surely one player will not be enough. I also heard that we are intrested in cms and Rhodes but can't see him coming. I would love Austin but I think a good gem would be Murray from crystal palace little old but would score goals for fun.

Agree0 Disagree0

Total nonsense Hooper does not have a release clause in his contract - why would he from Scunthorpe ..I have broke news before a lot of media on here and 100% no clause ... i'm led to believe 7m with add ons will be enough to buy hooper in this window with player turning down Celtic final offer lastweek.
Scottish Agent

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally would say 8m is fair, can't be sentimental with players as Lennon says every player has his price. If he doesn't want to be here sell him, personally would buy Russell and GMS with the money and move on

Junglebhoy33

Agree0 Disagree0

I've very much doubt there's any 8m release clause in Hoopers contract! There was no way of knowing the kid they signed from Scunthorpe would be such a success, therefore no way an 8m clause would be put in his contract!!

Ice man

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not unusual for players to have buy out clauses I think I read somewhere messi has one in his close to a billion. but these are usually installed in contracts to either get close to a clubs valuation or to scare off clubs.

hail hail

Marco1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper aren't no messi marco, anyone offers 8mill, hands should be bitten off

john

Agree0 Disagree0

Every player in spain has a buy out clause . it's a rule . But it's not common in the uk unless its a higher player going to a lower club . but clubs do use this as an excuse to sell player so the fans don't kick off

Agree0 Disagree1

If hooper leaves, watch out for vastly inflated prices being put on any player we may have an interest in, I can see Mr Thompson at D.utd asking for 2 million or more for russell or any of his players due to their need for finance and I suppose that applies to most clubs who know we have a few bob, just a thought.

With a defender& midfielder being brought in.i hope we put a bid in for Gary Mackay-Steven in the region of 2million..Sammy&Commons give us different left sided options, Mcourt inconsistent, Mackay Steven would give us a tricky left sided player with pace too burn & with forrest on the other flank it would be ideal.what you think, worth a punt??stevo

Believable15 Unbelievable11

Like mackay stevens fits our signing policy would prefer to go for the boy rojas from the A league plays on the left bags of potential

Agree0 Disagree0

2m wouldn't be accepted. And fair play to Dundee Utd for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barbosa from braga left sided mid and going for peanuts. Out of contract at end of the season as well. Would tear this league up.

Raff

Agree1 Disagree0

I've been a big fan of MacKay-Steven for a couple years now. Proven SPL top notch winger, has most right back's in his back pocket, made Bartley at old Rangers look schoolboy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still not keen on Sammy playing on te left but at the end of the day it looks like its best suited to him so fair play! But 2 mill for McKay-Steven!! Your havin a laugh? He would fit in well for us, 1mil max and utd would take it, play hard ball all they want but they need the money as most teams in Scotland do!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see us go for both GMS and Johnny Russell, good be a good bit of business plus keeping money in the scottish game

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope celtic sign both mckay stevens and jonnie russell

Agree0 Disagree0

Tom rogic is left footed

Agree0 Disagree0

Love to get mckay stevens and russell and pay united 3 million up front they will bite your hand off for that

Anyone else think it's a bit strange that big Fraz is suddenly 'injured'? Don't think he has missed a game yet. Funny timing?????

Davie Blantyre Bhoy.

Believable8 Unbelievable23

Or maybe he's injured.......ohhh

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope he's not being sold :(

Agree1 Disagree0

How dare he get injured at this time7

john

Agree0 Disagree0

NL stated in the press conference that he'd injured his neck in training.
Think it was just precautionary with some big games coming up.
HH
/BB

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's a genuine injury and would hope we take the same stance with him as Wanyama and Hooper IF any enquiry was made and protect our investment.
Obviously his CL and domestic performances will have attracted attention, but he is at a Huge club in the last 16 of Europe's elite. However, should he still wish to go - start the bidding at 10m....

JJ

Agree0 Disagree0

If it is an injury just let him take it easy this week and next keep him ok for juve

Agree0 Disagree0

Barcelona are looking for a replacement for Valdes who has said he will not be signing a new contract. We all remember the plaudits the big fella received from them.

Agree1 Disagree0

The guy that said about barcelona . get a grip thay will be looking fora tiop class keeper who can play in top games not a wee micky mouse league like scotland . ok he has played in the champions league but one good game will not get him a move

Agree0 Disagree0

This is getting ridiculous, Hooper isn't trying (2 goals next game) now Fraz is off. Wish some Celtic fans would get a grip. Hooper may go but he gives his all for this team. Fraser is injured, believe it or not it does happen. No wonder people say we are paranoid. We don't need to sell and if we do sell it's on our terms.

Aldobhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

"The guy that said about barcelona . get a grip thay will be looking fora tiop class keeper who can play in top games not a wee micky mouse league like scotland . ok he has played in the champions league but one good game will not get him a move" = FUD.

Micky Mouse League whomes teams still attract you to their forums? Think it's you that needs to get a grip.

The Barca comment was clearly tongue in cheek.

Agree0 Disagree0

They will be looking for a keeper who is good with the ball at his feet, so FF probably isn't what they want . That said, as far as goalies are concerned it doesn't matter what league they play in with regard to making saves, particularly when he does it week in week out . As for a aMickey Mouse league Celtic have assembled a squad for approx 15 million and made the last 16, unlike diddy teams like Chelsea and Man city from the over hyped and over paid EPL

Agree0 Disagree1

FF is a "tiop" class keeper ya plum!, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

The divvy up above has obviously only seen fraz play once ! he has been outstanding for the last year week in week out as we all know bhoys. wee mickey mouse league is good enough for roy hodgson and barca saw first hand how good he is. twice ya plum !

Agree0 Disagree0

Has forster or hooper been capped?, more chance a terry butcher getting his boots on again

john

Agree0 Disagree0

Won't be any Rangers ones getting capped anyway
