Where the **** is this story of EPL teams wanting ambrose coming from he's one of the worst defenders I have seen in a long time positional sense is all over the place takes to long to put a pass out the guy maybe good but i'm yet to witness this 6m price tag that's been said by people

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Just the usual paper talk, tryin to unsettle our players before big games. it happens all the time, last year before spartak game hooper was linked with liverpool, wanyama linked with man utd, that didn't unsettle us so they will try another stroy. no other players in scotland get linked with moves all year round apart from the celtic bhoys and it all seems a bit suss to me as these stories always pop up before big games.

You don't have a clue about football if you don't think Ambrose is a great defender. His ability to play the ball is brilliant and he gives you a lot more than a centre back who just clears the ball, he can get goals and almost act as another midfielder, don't get me wrong he can improve like his postioning sometimes is bad and his judgement on when to pass, but he wouldn't have an olympic sliver medal, and an african cup of ntions medal for being bad.

Looking forward to game tomorrow and getting back to all things Celtic. Hopefully NL puts out his strongest team and puts game to bed early then he can make changes that are necessary for Wed. I also hope if Charlie is fit and playing he is made captain. We need a good showing tomorrow to gee us up for Juventus and to wipe out the memory of Wednesdays poor showing. DH

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Was at the Murderwell game, could see the reasoning for benching Hooper. 1) rest him 2) show him Celtic can score and win without him (contractual leveridge) 3) give others a chance 4) show the competition we can beat them with squad players.

Well we couldn't score. We put him on which shows we need him, Stokes got his shout and blew it. MWell beat us.
Lennys reaction to it was strong and good, but hopefully we never hear it again. The quality of guys r in how they bounce back from setbacks.

Agree0 Disagree1

DH,
With all due respect, its exactly that attitude - approaching games with the Champions League in mind that has caused us most problems this season.
So FORGET Wednesday and Juventus until after full time today. This game, right now is more important - till its won.
If we do not play our strongest (fittest) team and respect St Mirren we will be papped out on our ar£3 today!
And we will be out the CL at 2200 on Wednesday night anyway - barring a miracle.
This is a Scottish Cup QF and will be played as such. Neil Lennon MUST have his team up for a real battle today.
If I am being honest - I am not too confident. First 15 minutes will be so important for us. kbt1978

What are all your opinions on players possibly leaving. Wanyama, Hooper.
If they leave I hope Lennon keeps them until at least after the CL qualifiers.
Also what about Ambrose, if Liverpool offer anything like £6m I hope Lawwell will drive him there himself.
He is not the long term answer to our problems.
I have faith in our scouting system that replacements are already lined up. Timalloy

Believable2 Unbelievable4

What I can't get my head round is Hooper not signing a new contract and to a lesser extent Wanyama. It would mean more money for them and it would benefit Celtic in the long run. I honestly can see a few players moving on apart from the two mentioned. The likes of Lustig and Rogne are too injury proned and not much cop anyway IMO. I would like too see a bit of experience in the team to bring the young ones on. I would also like to see a strong leader on the park and that's not a slur on Scott Brown. But someone like Big Billy, or Roy Aitken who when things are going against us would take the game by the scruff of the neck and urge the team on. Someone posted the other day about under MON we were never beaten till the whistle went. Even under GS if we were two down with 20 mins to go the fans were still confident we would win. Sorry to rabble on but I think NL will be planning changes and targets right now especially with the CL coming so early. DH

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the board will keep them for cl and so the longer they play and do well the bidding will continue and get bigger, plus getting to cl is more money and important then selling them rigt away. As for Ambrose if I would take 6mill, I liked him and the look of him but whether it's winning the African cup or thinking the season is over already he is making dumb moves and after getting by 4 guys he always stops and makes a pass to the other team. Hope we convince wanyama to stay and get him on a long and big contract

Agree1 Disagree0

I would say give away hooper and ambrose. ambrose isn't actually worth 6 m and we'll find a better plsyer for that price. hooper doesn't want to stay and has been nothing special this season. I would much rather get rhodes for him since he's a great player who is also celtic fan and has said that he would love to play for us. I would love to hang on to wanyama for at least 1 more year because he belongs here and can still develop here before moves on. forster was wuite disapointing since his injury which is really a shame but I hope he'll start beeing how he was before that injury but I would really like to keep him for about 1-2 years.

Agree1 Disagree0

1. buy a new striker and a new defender (preferibly with experience).
2. sell hooper and efe.
3. keep wanyama and forster.
4. give dylan more playing time.

Agree2 Disagree0

Keep ff for a year or two? Like wanyama I would want him around for 4-5 if not more. These are the type of people you want to build a team around and they are still young

We note yesterdays decision that Rangers FC has been found guilty of contravening the SPL rules on disclosure of payments over 11 years between 2000-2011. The scale of this amounts to a deliberate non-disclosure of £47 million in payments to players and staff. We also note the penalty of £250,000 which has been imposed.

Like many within Scottish football, including supporters and other observers, we are surprised by the parallel conclusion that no competitive advantage was gained from these arrangements.

However, the implications of this verdict are for the Scottish football authorities to address since the rules breached were specifically intended to defend "sporting integrity".

Throughout this matter, Celtic has refrained from comment on the affairs of Rangers FC while the various tribunals and commissions went about their work.

We will continue to concentrate on our own affairs, and assure our supporters that at all times we will operate within both the rules of our governing bodies and the law of the land.

Our Club is in a great place at the moment and we are enjoying a fantastic season, maintaining our position at the top of Scottish football and enjoying huge success and profile across European football.

We ask our fans to unite with us once again as we look ahead to the rest of the season, to the Scottish Cup on Saturday, to the UEFA Champions League next week and to an exciting future with a young squad of high quality players and a talented manager in Neil Lennon.

Our fans have been magnificent this season, home and away, and as we head towards the end of the season, now, more than ever, we need our fans to be with us and to back the team and the Club. We sincerely thank our fans for their continued support.

Statement from CFC

Believable13 Unbelievable5

What kills me is Minty Murray's reply about how unfair everything is to bring the oldco down if things were so honest, why did he not take liability for the tax case and sell the club for a £1.

Agree0 Disagree1

Thought this statement lacked class. We can't have everything our own way. Whether it is a refereeing decision, or Lord Nimmo smith's decision, we always cry foul if it does not suit us! I wish Lenny would concentrate on the Cup tie, or we will end up losing again, then we will have to listen to more nonsense from him, like we did after being thumped by Juve! Davo 88

I posted for first time last wk and mentiond wee jamsie naw performing anywhere near his potential to warrant getting in team b4 certain other players, I mentiond that a possible spell in under 21s might help, now somebody posted I was taiking bo##cks, fine entitled to own opinion but same poster yesterday posts that he watchd the HIGHLIGHTS and jamsie had a great game, now highlights only tend to show the good bits, not many Wednesday, now jamsie did OK, which looking at a lot of the other performances wasn't that hard to do, but let's see if he can follow that up for the nxt 5/6 games and then I might change my opinion of him, don't want to be a SILLYBILLY again as was suggested. hail hail, GOD BLESS THE CELTIC+

Believable10 Unbelievable10

I think your taking what I said a bit out of context, but you were well to quick to jump on his back. And you will be proved wrong. What was that only his third start in four months. 3 starts man!, give the lad time to recover and get his sharpness.

And yes I did only see the highlights and I felt there was no point lying about it, but even still everything we created came from Forrest, he's getting there with every game.

Quack

Agree1 Disagree2

Forrest has had more average enough games than good games, when he's a bit more consistent he'll get more first team action. don't think the op was slagging Jamsie just suggesting a wee run in the under 21s might bring his game on?. TTTS

Agree2 Disagree2

Are you jamseies dad he is over rated mcgeough showed last weeknd he is far better

Agree3 Disagree1

He's still a young man, give him a chance to mature

Steve

Agree1 Disagree0

I was at the game and the first decent ball he put in was when big Sammi scored, now what time was that, to me it say's it all about Forrest, not denying he has got talent but he need's to do more of what he's good at, running at opponent'sand decent crosse's into the box.
