Wasn't at the game today, would I be right in saying our fringe players were not good enough today? Didn't grab their opportunity? I hear people asking about Ibrahim, Miku & others on here on a regular basis and asking why they are not playing. Personally I don't think Miku is anything great. Don't think the board backed the manager enough in the summer. If we do make the last 16 on Wednesday night, which I'm sure we will, I wonder if we might splash some of these millions I keep hearing about. (Wont hold my breath) Ian L

I concur! Ever since you pointed it out I've dreaded seeing them in black socks. Send them an email! Footballers and managers are all superstitious so they should take it on board

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets get a petition going called BIN THE BLACK SOCKS.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was just me that hated they fekin socks!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Black socks responsible for saturdays result, for goodness sake get a grip, not for the first time this season our back up players have been abysmal ,truth is they are not good enough.neil lennon needs to get it sorted out pretty quick, other spl teams have no fear going to celtic park these days. we have not beaten an spl team convincingly at home this season in the spl,so get it sorted neil before its too late.jimbhoy

Don't know what's more frustrating, the performances & results we are getting out the players or Neil Lennon's apparent lack of concern in post match interviews. His clichéd filled post-match interview today would have been better suited to Craig Brown/Stuart McCall, not Celtic drawing at home to Arbroath. He better just be saying this stuff keep the media from branding the situation a crisis while lambasting the players in the dressing room. If not, the players are going out without any fear of a backlash from the manager and a lack of urgency and complacency has resulted if that is the case.

Also, I'm starting to lose the rag with Lennon regarding Scott Brown. If his injury is as complicated as made out then rap him in cotton wool between big games and stop playing him in the league cup and before CL games. Apart from that thought the selection was spot on and should have won 4-0 today.

Hopefully a draw will be enough to get us through on Wednesday, although no doubt we can expect a very, very nervy 90 minutes. It's not a crisis yet but the mood on Thursday morning will surely determine whether the first half of the season has been up to scratch.

Stop listening to radio negativity.
not even going to even mention the !!!!!!
An old old wise legend used to ask,
"caller,,, were you at the game"

Short shrift, no nonsense , pure put down.

Nowadays it seems not to attend games gives more importance to speculative, disparaging ramblings.
I'll comment further if this is posted

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok so we all stop listening to radio negativity ... the score on the radio negativity was 1 1 ... what was the actual score at the game ?? did we thrash then in real life ??

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 talk about disparaging ramblings, what does that have anything to do with what I said? did the negative radio report a falsescore or doctor Neil Lennon's interview?

G93

Agree0 Disagree0

So you weren't at the game then OP lol. Result wasn't acceptable but they scored a jammy deflected goal and we were wasteful in front of goal, these things do happen from time to time when you rest half a team. We are not out, we will put it right a week on Wednesday. You were probably wetting your dengies and flapping your gums at work on Thursday morning about how good we were against hearts. You have a right to be angry after that result but your post is almost word for word what the f*nnypad army on radio snide was saying. It was as if they had lost money on the score today the way they were going on. And when ever does NL ever use cliches in a post match interview, not exactly something he does often is it. Maybe this IS just football sometimes, maybe he HAS learned something about some of his players today, we ARE infact still in the competition and we WERE infact wasteful in front of goal. If it was a league game at home today I would be raging but given the team selected with one eye on Wednesday I'm not losing my cool over it. And to answer your queries regarding Broony. Him and Neil Lennon have both said in interviews recently that if he stops training and playing his hip will seize up. Brown has himself made the decision to postpone his operation till after Spartak so this is how they are having to deal with it. His form is suffering because of it there is no doubt about that but I imagine they believe his presence and influence on the park is vital to us beating Spartak.

Agree1 Disagree0

They scored a 'jammy goal' not like ours, right off the training ground. The OP is right NL interview was full of cliches. I take it that you were raging after league games agst ICT and Killie. As for being wasteful in front of goal, at home in the league and cups I would say that is pretty much every game so far. No matter what Celtic team where put out today they should be able to see off Arbroath. No excuses from players, manager or fans. Hbhoy. And yes I was at the game today.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Lennon did use cliches? I was at the game today, just couldn't decypher your ramblings. Has it ever crossed your mind that all this "negativity" on Snyde is maybe a fair reflcetion on the fact we did not beat Arbroath at home?

The results are similar to that of Mowbray, maybe worse, and I accept that Europe is the priority and today nobody wanted to risk injury against Spartak, but I've paid for and attended every home game this season, same as the last 11, and if you can say you have received value for money this season then your heeds in the sand with the sevcos.

Don't know what your beef is with the radio but disagreeing with them purely because it comes from Snyde makes you look like a deluded tit.

G93

Agree0 Disagree0

Not too concerned. At the end of the day we could do without extra games if we are to mount a challenge on four fronts but it is hardly a crisis or a disaster. What today's result does say to me is that this young, inexperienced side have a long way to go before they will be considered top drawer (they have skills but not the necessary mental fortitude - one the reasons great players like Matt Le Tisser never went to a winning club).

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't actually believe the snidey wee
Poofy replies my post got off you 2 d*cks. Celtic fans, your having a f*cking laugh. So let me first get this straight, me a die hard Celtic man put my point across and didnt name call the OP. what I got is 2 a*seholes calling me a "tit" and get this...sticking up or the blue noses on the radio and showing them more respect than me. What a pair of PR*CKS you 2 really are.

I was very disappointed with the performance today and the level of commitment shown, what Celtic supporter wouldn't be. We should strolling games against Abroath but I have no doubts over our manager and players, I believe in them and that they like the rest of us aren't perfect. We haven't lost a thing today, not a single thing. In the grand sheme of things the result today means absolutely F*CK all. We will beat Abroath and progress into the next round of the cup. We WILL progress into the last 16 of the champions league and we will win the league, possibly even a treble. And when our leader gets manager of the year again at the end of the season you 2 will be claiming you never doubted him or the players. But even through that don't ever forget you took the side of the biased, 2 faced, bitter ex rangers players from the phone in's over one of your own. If you aren't intelligent to see what they were at after that game today then I'm wasting my time. 4 days before the biggest game of most of our young teams careers and you think our manager should have been "honest" and slated the team today in the media as opposed to in private. Lennon is playing them the way any one of the top managers would have played it, keep it in house and avoid the old Celtic crisis bull**** they are dying to write, because it sells papers. Open your eyes for f*ck sake.

P.s I've watched Spartaks last 3 full matches. They are a f*cking mess. This game is an irrelivance to them. And Barca hate...f*cking hate not winning at home. they are 3 YEARS undefeated in the nou camp in European competition. Benfica will get a draw if they are lucky. Maybe on Thursday you can come on here and spread a bit of positivity after we qualify instead of giving the zombies something to laugh about and peltering your fellow supporters over a quasi offensive / critical post.

Stevensee88. F*ckin Celtic through and through

Re further comment G93
I was not am not happy with today's draw with Arbroath, I was just as unhappy after the ICT game. I've been fairly unhappy with a lot of the homes this season but I've also had some tremendous times culminating with the Barca game and Spartak will be just as exciting and memorable.

Today I was unable to go so flipped between Radio Clyde and Radio Scotland only changing when their garbage became unbearable (know your enemies)
G93 your initial comments regarding cliches and general criticisms were uncannily similar to an ex player from an ex club.
The following poster had a similar view.
Everyone can and should voice their opinions and concerns if unhappy. I just despise those that can only see negativity, constantly find fault, exaggerate and magnify foreseen and unforseen problems. I hate when these so called journalists and ex players say they speak for the Celtic support against Neil Lennon. They do not.
I endured the yearly fraudulent robbing of titles by an ex club, the many wrongs committed against the Celtic both on and off the park by "looking on the bright side"
Today's result was poor, who can disagree but the level of criticism orchestrating towards Neil Lennon is shameful.
Ex club players openly gloating about celebrating an 140 year history for a team that was liquidated but condem Neil Lennon for what they think was not a truthful post match media interview . You cannot make it up.
Keep the faith, faithful thru and thru

Stevensee I only sped read this thread but I like your style man. Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

Flattery's like pi$h in the pool to the big man sopot but cheers anyway lol.

Ive had 1 or 2 heated debate's with fellow Celts on here before but when the name calling starts and folk start taking Gordon Dalziel's side over mine i'm not having it, I'm sure you would feel the same way mate.

At the end of the day though, now my knickers are untwisted, the 2 boys are Celtic orientated like me and yourself sopot and i love everyone of my fellow Celts when it comes down to it. After all its us against them innit. Hail Hail troops

Stevensee88

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Steven, was up the twist after freezing my baws off and paying for a day out that could go towards better things to watch my team to draw at home to the mighty Arbroath.

I don't seek Gordon Dalziel's guidance for football matters, but saying that the results have been boggin and Lennon hasn't kicked off is a fair point.

Anyways, bring on the Spartak.

CFC = Complaicency Football Club.

Its Neil and his teams job to get them up for EVERY game. Not just the big ones and Hearts away etc. I cannot remember the last time we won a game we were expected to win comfortably.
Yet all the so called closer games on paper, we come through with flying colours.
This is the area NL and the team are failing the fans. We cannot just expect to win every game, we need to show a hell of a lot more.

Hey folks

I posted on here last week re the squad depth quality not being good enough...today we had only a couple of players who don't regularly get first team games yet we still struggle. An absolute joke, fair enough we had our chances but if we can't take them against Arbroath then god help us on Wednesday. Home form in domestic matches is Cr*p!

Players and Management need to take a look at themselves and ask are they giving enough to the cause!

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Some of the fans like yourself need a good look at themselves as well

Some fans nothing ... that was an important game today in a major competition theirs no excuse their shouldnt be any players in our squad that isnt capable of beating a 2nd division side 90 % of our games are domestic if they cant cut it get shot of them

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll think you'll find its the players that need to have a good look at themselves. As for faithful through and through didn't see many of these fans at todays game. Hbhoy.

I don't think I need to take a look at myself Dannybhoy, no one at this great club of ours is above criticism! I agree with the untagged reply to my OP, our reserves "SHOULD" be able to dispatch a 2nd div club, I also agree with the comments ref NL's post match interviews, i hope its a double bluff! I know we had our chances but the lack of urgency is worrying.

ED have you heard anything about Wanyama throwing his shirt at lennon? Its doing the rounds on twitter? i know its not your fave medium but thought i'd ask.
