thanks for the reply ed is o dea on a seasons long loan and do you think he will wear the hoops again {Ed007's Note - It is a season long loan, I doubt if he will play for us again.}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Is odeas contract not up at end of season? I'm sure mowbray gave him a 2 year deal when he sent him out which will end this season. Also think mcginns is up too so doubt we'll see those 2 again

does anyone else agree darren o dea better than any other cb we have playing just now {Ed007's Note - I didn't want O'Dea to leave, I said that all summer.}

Believable12 Unbelievable7

I agree but dont you think that only shows what little quality we have central defence {Ed007's Note - I would rather see O'Dea in a CFC jersey that Majstorovic.}

Agree0 Disagree0

O'dea falls into the paddy McCourt, big bobo, niall maginn and god knows how many others......they seem to get better the more they don't play. O'dea has found his level down south in the lower leagues. Its time decent money was spent on two cb's and a keeper. As the old saying goes....you pay peanuts you get monkeys!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I'm not disputing the fact he is better than big dan I'm just trying to point out that if o dea is the best centre half at the club than surely that in itself shows the problems we have at centre back. O dea is just the best of a not so clever bunch. He is not the answer. Just my opinion of course

Agree0 Disagree0

For the poster who mentioned big bobo, rangers were terrified of him, De boer complained he tackled to hard, i wish we had him now rather than loovens who plays like a 7 stone weakling

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of the rubbish here is unreal. K Wilson has looked good for us sadly the old firm game was a bit much for him and he had a bad one. All in all i say he will turn out good for us. X bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we need a partner for Kelvin Wilson. He looked decent in a lot of games this season but was awol against rangers. I think we need to shell out for as good a Central defender as we can afford. maybe £3million or £4 million {Ed007's Note - Why do they need to cost £3/4 million? Ability to defend is far more important than the price tag.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not Od'deas's bigest fan, but is he really any worse than Loovens, Big Dan or even K Wilson?. Come to think about was McManus any worse. Not saying there better but have we really improved at the back in terms of personel? Not sure on that one.

David

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont make me laugh o dea my a*** we have been there and done it ,he was not up to it,Although I doubt it will happen we need to spend some real dough on an experiance centre back or 2. All the names current and past are not the answer we need a BOBo Balde type to put the fear of god into them not the powder puff defenders we have at the moment

Agree0 Disagree0

I mentioned bobo only in the context of o'dea....because if you remember back yes big bobo would win almost every header that came into the box-and god knows we could do with that type of defender just now- be also got slaughtered because he struggled to pass water never mind a ball, and when dropped over the contract crap became a better football with each passing week. Before he left he was getting mentioned in the same class as maldini! Let's face it o'dea tried but never really had the class to back it up. {Ed007's Note - Who compared Bobo to Maldini? I've never heard that in my life before!! If anyone said that to me I would seriously doubt they actually knew anything about football what so ever. It must have been Bobo himself that said it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ed I hadn't finished that post and I know my spelling was dodgy {Ed007's Note - I've not posted it if you want to repost it

Agree0 Disagree0

We cried out during the summer 4a striker now its the same 4 a CB.

No 1 will come in till next summer when we find out if it's us or them in CL

Sorry but the money isn't there 4a CB so it's time to back the bhoys with what we have.

K wilson and Rogne ( Speling ! lol ) will form a decent partnership when fit.

hi ed you heard anything about commons ,cant get in before mulgrew and dropped from scotland squads something doesn,t add up is there something neil isnt tellin the fans {Ed007's Note - Commons said he was fit and NL has said he wasn't. He doesn't look fit to me.}

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Think Commons said he was "Fat" not fit! He's about a stone overweight, lack of professionalism on his part that we're well into the season and he's not in shape {Ed007's Note - I did think it was maybe a typo.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We had Commons at Forest, he is just bone idle if not in the mood to play. Once he wants a new contract you will see a different player

Scott Brown reckons the celtic support need not worry because they can play better than yesterday. May I say that if that is his attitude then he can F off. You can't expect to win all o/f games but the least I expect, as a paying Celtic Supporter, is that they play to the best of their ability in every game.
Ben Bhoy 1916

Believable15 Unbelievable4

I'm not worried that they can play better...i'm a tad worried about how many times this season they are going to show us this better play ?

seen a few posts on this page for weeks now talking about administration for gers (ed says ... really?!lol). but were the rules not changed now that if a team goes into admin they get relegated straight to div 3 ? just thought id mention it cos everyone goin on about the 10 points thing ?

Germinator {Ed007's Note - No Germ, it is only a ten point deduction, here is is a link for an article from the Herald in May (you need to be registered but it's free:

www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/rangers/the-notion-of-rangers-going-into-administration-may-be-unthinkable-but-the-circumstances-are-ripe-for-drastic-action-1.1029326?75304

Believable3 Unbelievable2

So we could potentially go into admin and still win the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yup, would be tight tho... we would only win by 6 or 7 points. Might make it a bit more interesting!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont need to register. once the page loads press the "X" for close beside your refresh butn and you can read the full article {Ed007's Note - Cheers for that, I didn't know that lol.}

I might be being a bit dramatic but I think Celtic have little chance of winning the league this season unless they get there act together.
The players showed no commitment even Lennon didn't show much passion yesterday.
Praying this is the team by next summer
Craig Gordon
Adam Matthews new cb Charlie Mulgrew Emilio
Forrest new cm Ledley (new captain) McCourt/mcginn
Stokes Hooper

Outs samaras big dan Rasmussen(didn't get a chance) cha du ri daryl murphy (sell Ki and Kayal only if 5million+ offers)

CelticBhoy1967

Believable3 Unbelievable23

U woul play McCourt/McGinn well I rest my case
I wish you were pickin the manky mob's team

Agree0 Disagree0

U couldn't pick yer a*** never mind celtics first team. Why would we sell ki and Kayal when we don't have to. They are two of our best players. As for the Old firm game, we didn't show up in the second half and it was a poor performance but 4 goals was flattering and they showed signs of weakness as well. We just have to move on, up our commitment and make sure we demolish them next time. I also don't think Gordon would be a good signing because of his injury troubles.

Lubo67

Agree0 Disagree0

4 goals was flattering? what about Laff's disallowed goal and 2 sitters plus Davis hitting the bar? shud have been more than 4! Plus Shagger gifted the 2nd goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon is tactily naive some of the signing are a joke most fans have bought in to the irish thing wae lenny its time we had amanager with abit of stature cause we are going nowhere fast

Agree0 Disagree0

You want to keep Adam Matthews and Niall McGinn, get rid of Ki and Kayal and think Stokes and Hooper is good enough for next season? Wow you are clueless

Agree0 Disagree0

Ki was anonymous again yesterday, you cant have a passenger in central midfield against them. Stokes simply doesn't have the physical requirements to compete against rangers. Cha is the best right back at present, mark wilson was dreadful yesterday, he let wylde cross the ball at will when he should have been closing him down, kayal seems to be playing for himself more and more each week

Agree0 Disagree0

dont blame lennon blame the board lenny was always the cheap option............ thats the way we,ve always operated

Believable16 Unbelievable14

Lennon keeps picking samaras and loovens you cant blame the board for that

stephenmiller1967

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon tells the board who he wants, he also picked that team and as for tactics I don't think he's got a clue

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish,,,lennon always changes winning team. y loovens and m. wilson at back when mulgrew and mathews were doin perfectly ok. oh then dumps ledley to bring brown back and moves mulgrew wide left.... then tops it all by playin samaras who has plated once instead of stokes or bagurna to partner hooper, so dont blame board blame the manager

Agree0 Disagree0

It is lennons fault, that is a good team we have got, apart from the goalkeeper, that team with a good manager would not have lost at ibrox

if celtic want rid of scott brown then i would happily accept him as a rangers player, the guy is a class act

I Would like to see Rogne in the starting line-up, would like to see what Wanyama can do. I would bring in 2 new centre backs that are quality and play Zaluska. I would sell Samaras

Believable22 Unbelievable7

I'd love to see Rogne in the starting line up, him and desperate Dan would be great.

GovanFR

Agree0 Disagree0

GovanFr

Rogne is better than ALL your centre backs...

Agree0 Disagree0

Look guys this is the problem, all our centre halfs have been tried and all have been found wanting. It seems that if they stay around long enough the guy in the team makes mistakes and then people shout for them to be brought back. They haven't got any better while they are out of the team. Until we buy someone to play there NL should play big Dan, he is the only one with a record of success against rangers, every time loovens plays against them we get beat

Agree0 Disagree0

Whos stupid enough to want him after the last week ?

Badr got lucky with his goal but honestly what a poor show he never won a single header and has only played 142 times in 10 years if u go with what wikipedia says.thank god it's just a loan and we never bought this guy

Believable4 Unbelievable5

I worry about the direction we are heading under peter lawell and lenny, we seem to have blind loyalties to his failings, if not sorted soon I can see gers having the better of us for a while. Any other celts agree ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I dunno mate, I thought he had a so-so game (sometimes he was alright, sometimes he was poor) but he looked good in the motherwell game, and as I recall Izaguirre had a shocker the first time he played rangers. Thank God we didn't give up on him straight away...

I think the jury's still out on Badr, give him a bit of time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree he looked good in the Motherwell game but looked like a different player against that lot.fingers crossed we can get a half decent back line set up and get a run without many injuries

Agree0 Disagree0

We had 2 Old Firm Debutants playing at the back. that means three players that don't know what its all about and it showed. Give the boys time and they'll get there.

Howdi lads. Ive got another little snippit from my mate who works at lennoxtown. Hes told me we're gettin a boy over from the states, matt or mark horn, one for the future apprantley. The boys suppose to be a machine, lighting quick aswell, and drills them in from all angles/positions. I believe theres a nominal fee involved, which should be sorted soon.
Thought id bring a bit of decent news today. Mon the hoops! {Ed007's Note - The only Matt Horn I can find is from the Winthrop University team?}

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Hi again ed, im not sure if.thats the same guy, my mate says he was with N.N.J.C or something? Are they a college team? {Ed007's Note - Yeah they are:

www.winthropeagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2010&path=msoc

Agree0 Disagree0

If the guy only plays for a college team then there wouldn't be any fee involved

Agree0 Disagree0

Another one for the future ! Lennoxtown must resemble a kindergarten by now. Yesterday showed us that the need is HERE and NOW.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that rumour aswell, that's the same area that Leeds Utd had that trialist Adam Mickson from im sure. Dont think it worked out though.

Hope we go for real proper players, sick of hearing about youngsters who have no future at our amazing club.

Hail Hail!

see the Record has apologised for Saturdays headline regarding Lennon and the tax man

Believable4 Unbelievable5

I posted keith jackson was a touble making scumbag on here the day before the lennon and taxman hate jibe.
the record have apologised but this means nothing to me and i will still not be buying that rag.

It wasn't Keith Jackson that wrote it .......

let's hope we see banboura & wanyama get a runout in the next couple of games, if they cant get a game against ross county &i c t then why sign them.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

19 Sep 2011 10:06:45
Yesterday I was gutted and calling for wee Lennys head some of the tactics he adopts are awfull. I could go on all day about them. However a love the guy and want him to do well but just cant decide if he is right for the job. What do my fellow hoops fans think?

Believable27 Unbelievable9

I would always say, CELTIC are far too big a club to have a Rookie Manager, reguardless of the person. Lenny has too many games were his decision making is questionable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Argee with your post mate, think he needs time but taking in the pro & cons.if Lennon never took over from TM then what state would we be in ? Last season was a full new team that just lost out on winning the lot? Ok Sami at ibrox, the ICT game that most folk had written off & the cup game we lost too rangers in Extra time ? Call it fate or just seriously unlucky.

Think he should really give hooper & stokes up front next time Lennon has always said he thinks Sami give rangers real muscle in these games but I personally not a fan of the guy. Think if we can square up the back 4 think we should be ok.not 100% sure about Forster put he did have the most clean sheets last year ?

But think Lennon is on the same boat as AVB at chelsea, young manager big club if u don't bring home the league/cups then ur off.

Lenny.
Come on you bhoys in green!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm still really undecided, he's still a rookie making rookie mistakes. Ally might be in charge for his 1st season but he's been under WS for 6 yrs with rangers and scotland, NL doesn't have this experience. Having said that, I don't think he'll take back seat now & let someone else come in..I would like to think he phones Martin O'Neil for advice. He might have brought back the thunder but i would prefer the league title. rangers are an average team & played the best they have all season in the 2nd half, didn't help we fell asleep (literally). But there for me is the difference in the experience of managers - the half time talk. - Chrissy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok we lost and probably deserved to in the end. We didn't come out in the second half for what ever reason. We seem toi have the tendency to lie too deep in situations like yesterday when if we had have pressed for the third goal at the start of the 2nd half it would have been a different outcome. I feel there was poor team selection. Ledley (Mulgrew move to CB) on Mulgrew should have remained at the back (Loovens out) Would have probably gone for Stokes instead of Sammi. Mosy of all I'd get the center backs to defend set pieces by picking up there known danger men and stop this zonal marking it aint working

Agree0 Disagree0

We were well beaten in the second half to many players didnt show up,they are good against the lesser teams but big games posted missing,would have mulgrew and wilson cb,mulgrew for me has been the most improved player and you can see that,he was a bit heavy with the takles but didnt give up he needed help,its only one game i love NL but he is under more pressure this season,i hope he does it

Agree0 Disagree0

I love Neil and want him to stay but perhaps he needs someone above him for the big games euro games. I think you cant get any better coach and man manager but not sure if he has the tactical experience for us in europe or big crunch games

Agree0 Disagree0

Lenny always lets his heart run the team. maybe needs to be an assistant manager to someone with experience. I would bring in someone to be a sounding board for him. not above him though or it might make him angry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen to yiz! He is not a rookie, Sally is a rookie! Lennon has had time AND money to get it sorted. He has lost us one league already! Just because he is a Celtic man u all LOVE him! Great way to run a club eh? As long as the wee fella talks the talk and laps up the "you can't touch Lenny, coz he get's a hard time" you lot will be happy! Better that than to have a "non" Celtic man like Strachan eh? 3 titles but dizny greet about refs and "clarification" enuff so, ta ta... idiots! Pump him and get ANYONE who understands the game! Don't care who, don't care if he never played for us, just as long as he know's how to win FFS

Agree0 Disagree0

I replied to initial post to say CELTIC are too big a club to have a Rookie Manager. My point being we should never have given Lenny the position in the first place.
Unfortunately we are where we are, and because he is one of our own it does seem most people are more willing to give him a chance. I do take your point though I would much rather be winning and could not care less who the manager is as long as he brings home the trophies.
Perhaps the day after such a pathetic defeat is not the best day to get sensible argument?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s, however I have more concern over Mr Lawwell?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s ability to pick the right man for the job, so maybe that?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s a better question to be asking?.
