Decent young player! Not seen a lot of him but know he's really highly rated! Where u hearing this mate or is it just a suggestion? Would prefer a more experienced player if I'm being honest. i'll be so glad when this transfer window shuts by the way! All this guessing and wondering does ma box in lol.

Agree4 Disagree3

20 Aug 2016 08:27:15
Or why not enjoy our club being ambitious again? This is an exciting time and u want the transfer window to shut? Your nuts lol.

Agree3 Disagree1

20 Aug 2016 10:18:21
Ambitious? Sos bhoy? two projects ajer and dembele . identified by delia tenure. was that not ambitious then? . . wvee signed a gk who half the fans don't agree if better than Gordon or will Indeed replace Gordon. . a 27 year old winger who has floated around epl and championship loans never living up to his promise and a cb at the end of his career. all signings were needed but not the most ambitious imo . between now and the window will tell how ambitious the club is . I want class buys not to be a development club for epl sides .

Agree1 Disagree3

20 Aug 2016 12:27:10
Any GK is an improvement on CG and was he not Nottingham forest player of year last year?
Toure is 35 but from what I've seen is a class act and what the other defenders at club can learn from him in invaluable.
I've been impressed with sinclair so far and couldn't care less that the previous couple moves didn't work for him.
Deep river your the only celt I know not satisfied with our signings so far. Not sure what you want the club have invested heavily on a manager and so far have backed him all the way. IMO replacing Delia with BR shows big ambition.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Aug 2016 17:03:58
But they are hardly ambitious signings which was my point . ajer is far from 1st team dembele is back up striker they are projects . de vries better than Gordon? Toure when all fit will he play every week? but I agree he was needed short term sinclair starts great every team he plays for then falls away (I hope he changes here) . out of 5 one guaranteed starter in sinclair.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 23:02:25
Ed the two players I've heard being mentioned regarding marquee singning is between gerard and yaya toure I think out of the two more likely gerard can you shed any light thanks mate.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

{Ed007's Note - No. I've never mentioned either of them as possible signings.}

20 Aug 2016 01:21:21
IMO yaya toure looks more realistic. Guardiola will probably not play him much, he can play with his brother again, he can win some titles and play in the champions league. The only question is if he would accept the wage cut like his brother.

Agree2 Disagree3

20 Aug 2016 01:41:20
Might send him up and pay his wage. As they will be paying it to have him there sulking causing bother might be best to have him away playing. Pep ain't a fan was one of 1st away at Barcelona with Ronaldinho and replaced with sergio busqutes.

20 Aug 2016 08:08:36
Imagine it was Ronaldinho how amazing would that be.

D. Yedlin right back
J Hendrick creative midfielder
D. Ings goal scorer
that would be nice.

19 Aug 2016 21:40:43
Yedlin is rapid, certainly wouldn't say no.

19 Aug 2016 21:56:59
Well it's weird 3 of they players u listed to leave has allready left the club.

19 Aug 2016 22:00:01
Sorry mate. that's an unbelievable for me 😞.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 22:05:17
BR stated 2 more and on getting De Vries stated he would like 1 more guys.

I think a midfielder is the priority.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 21:42:45
If that all happens I will find Jesus again.

For there truly is a god if that comes to pass, and I know he is super busy right now helping all those Olympians win medals and shit, in Rio. Easier really being stood on yon hill, quicker. But I'm sure he will maybe spare us a thought about the fitba too.

Hundreds of assists over the years. Both Allah and Jesus love the fitba.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Aw ffs, not Scott Allah!}

19 Aug 2016 22:26:40
Sorry but Yedlin can't defend to save his life and if Hendricks didn't play for Ireland we'd never have heard of the bloke.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 22:28:31
Aye Brendan just hands out lists of players he wants to punt and bring in to random agents! Nonsense!

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers doesn't have the authority to decide which young players go out on loan, John Park and Chris McCart would be a lot more involved in that process than the manager.}

19 Aug 2016 22:34:48
Canny see it BR said he wanted 2 more unless he wasn't including the keeper? So i think its p1sh, but it is a rumour site so everyone has their opinion or rumour be it 100% or Bullsh1te.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 22:47:03
How gullible are half of u getting excited about a bull shyte rumour?

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 22:53:33
It's got to be a really decent central midfielder as the marquee signing. Put a young dynamic box to box guy with Broony (5-6million range, maybe higher? ) and we're looking good.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Would you not have the young dynamic box to box player Rogic in there beside Brown?}

19 Aug 2016 22:54:20
Bailly's crocked whos he going to sign for. He wouldn't even pass a medical with us. that's saying something too.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 23:09:35
Ed what about Brown, Rogic and new CDM as our 3 in midfield?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd be happy with Bitton in the CDM role mate with Ajer as his understudy hopefully getting some domestic game time in there. If we're bringing someone else in they don't just have to be better than those we've mentioned here, they need to be better than Armstrong, McGregor and perhaps a fit again Johansen.
I have a sneaky suspicion that it could be a replacement for Johansen. I'm not buying into all this marquee signing if we qualify for the CL talk, I think Rodgers is holding off to see what happens with Johansen regarding any new deal.}

19 Aug 2016 23:12:47
At least this is better than all the no-name marquee signing nonsense we keep hearing.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 23:16:03
is anyone buying into this list. is this what we do now? just give lists to agents of who we want and who we are trying to punt. if that's the case it would appear in all the MSM.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 23:18:14
Rogic is barely in our half never mind our box. I think he's a good number 10 but never really trusted him to play as one of two central midfielders. Don't think he has the engine. Maybe he'll develop into that role in the future. Agree with consensus though that we are a centre mid and right back away from having a very good team. Gunter and Lucas would be ideal.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 23:20:50
Rogic ain't nowhere near box to box ed!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Have you watched him? Rogic is all over the park when he plays in the CM role. Obviously when he plays in an ACM role he doesn't track back as much but if he's fit he's more than capable of doing it.}

19 Aug 2016 23:49:08
It would be interesting to find out how many games Rogic has actually played 90 mins. Not doubting his talent but for a young player his fitness levels are shocking.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I know mate, I know :( But his talent is unquestionable. I'm hopeful the sports science RD brought in and Rodgers new backroom team with Glen Driscoll will help him to reach his potential. I suppose it would be a bit of a gamble relying on Rogic but what happens if we end up bogged down with numbers in there again?
For me personaly a fit Rogic must start, ability wise he will have no problems playing at European level and his scoring ability could be priceless on that front.
His goal against Motherwell the other week was almost Batistutaesque!}

20 Aug 2016 02:22:07
Lads I know/ meet now and again (I live were he's from) a lad that is trying to tap my lad up (for bohs an irish team) and he says hendrix is looking for away (before you start I knows he's a st Kevin lad) . He hasn't being in Last 2 squads and supposingly has said his good byes. Now I don't and he don't know we're for but as an irish ( obvious and patriotic) he's the closes we will get to yaya.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Jeez oh young Ciaran are you on the goldies as well? Comparing Hendrick (loving the assorted spellings btw lol) to Yaya Toure is like something Wee Pat would come out with on giro day. And that's coming from a man that said Rogic's goal against Motherwell was like something Batistuta would have done.}

20 Aug 2016 04:17:58
Saying Hendricks is a creative midfeilder must be the biggest exaggeration ever, agree with the line that if he hadn't played for the republic then we wouldn't look at him twice, as for Rogic, if he 's not tearing up and down the field at the age he is now then he is never going to do it, think he is going to be stuck in the, not guite good enough to be called a top midfielder category.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Aug 2016 07:46:58
Jeff Hendrick has been in the Irish team for a couple of years Viking Tim, and I've been watching him for longer than that. We would have got him for around a couple of million then but he signed a new contract then has went on to do well for Derby, then at the Euro's. He's a box to box type, very energetic, he reminded me of a young Scott Brown when I first seen him. As for the guy with the list with him name on it, - do you know that Burnley were told that £7 million wouldn't get him? For me he's not worth that and also not what we need. I think we have to get someone more disciplined who will sit deeper and can dictate play, ideally someone who is aggressive also but the way the manager wants to play we need a passer in there who plays with the head up, Hendrick isn't that type of player and has become well overpriced. As for the rest of this list - it's all players who are in the papers every day in England that are on the move. Yedlin is linked with a different club everyday. As for Ings, well we all know Rodgers rates him, he bought him. It's the sort of typical list that anybody could have come up with - all these guys agents will be trying to get them a move/ better deal! I'm sure they'll have different agents as well, and they'll all be selling their souls to get a slice of the pie, not just the one who our manager knows.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Aug 2016 08:34:05
I love Rogic but hopefully we can keep him fit as a few have said! And I say this slightly as we are all making wild comparisons that he glides past players like zizou used to do it's wonderful to watch and his vision is excellent!

19 Aug 2016 18:06:08
So the fowards would be Ings, Grifs, Dembele, Sinclair, Roberts and forest a BR fav. That is overpower of talent but can you keep all happy and would they all be starting? Does Sinclair play in mid? I'm sure BR can fit them all in but could cause lil problem. Or is this a move cause they know they won't be able to keep Roberts?

Griff is proven dembele is not and ciftci is starting all over from a very low base
A griff injury? We need to be careful

Obviously we have goals from left and right and a fit and mobile ( emphasis on mobile ) Rogic but I would still like a proven second striker or a creative midfilder who is prolific

I think it will be a free scoring central creative midfielder

Makes sense.

Do you know the way the other big European clubs (but much more expendable cash) can justify spending massive amount on 1 player by saying they make the cash back in shirt sales (which I never believe as you wide not buy the Lil one a new jersey with the name but you spend the small amount to add the name to already purchased jersey) . Do you think the is any scope for that.?

0r would there be scope to purchase a say 10million player for say 5 million up front plus installments as this is another ply that is used quite often, an example would be Suarez didn't Barcelona only pay the last installment at February or so of this year.

All these 1-3million euro players that we take punts on do add up both in fees and price tags. Surely better course of plan instead of buying 3 players for 6million and paying 12grand each a week, would not b.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Any money from extra shirt sales goes to the kit manufacturer unless bought through official club outlets. Celtic could sign Messi tomorrow and New Balance wouldn't even need to up the money they give us as the sponsorship deal is already signed. Adidas sponsor both Man Utd and Paul Pogba which is a dream for them but the club doesn't get a single penny if some wee dude in China buys a Utd/Pogba top from some online sports retailer or even from Adidas' own shops/sites.
99% of transfer fees are paid in instalments - a lot are paid over the duration of the contract e.g. A £5m fee paid at 4 x £1.25m installments over a 4 year contract - but any outstanding monies monies must be paid up if the player is sold on.}

19 Aug 2016 21:59:11
Maybe Celtic shouldn't make their shirts so expensive. If you can get one from somewhere else for less then I say go for it. £60 for a tshirt? No thanks.

New poster but always a keen reader of the site.

My mate works with a well known train company and had McGeady on it going back down south. Said he would love to come back to the Hoops (which I wouldn't go near) but he also said McCarthy would also love to come to us bearing in mind him and his family are big Hoops fans. can't see it happening considering the fee would be 10-15 mill but would love to see him in the Hoops.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 16:53:18
Was it GNER? Or ScotRail?

It won't happen

Of the two McGeady could be feasible as he's out for favour and unwanted ( never been a well liked lad because he doesn't play for the team) McCarthy for me is a poor mans Paul Lambert IE a very poor mans Lambert

He showed tremendous promise but I think he plays a very sluggish game and isn't particularly good at anything. I thought he looked one paced at the euros

Now it's probably cooler to say he is this and that and that its all relative since he plays in a more competitive league but EVEN if we had £25m I wouldn't go near him with a barge pole

In our world, he's worth about £2 m or to put it another way, if we wanted that type of player I think we could take a punt at £2m on someone less well known and probably end up in the same place

For a young boy ( McCarthy ) he actually plays like a player going nowhere as though he's ran his race already in football terms

So not for me ( not just because of the silly price ) but because I don't think he's that much better than what we have ( which inadvertently destroys the value perceived in the price we would otherwise have to pay )

Agree1 Disagree1

19 Aug 2016 16:59:18

From the OP

I remember the days when you couldn't give up the source

Now it seems you can't even come up with the train company

What next?

I know someone who knows someone who may be in a public sector job who bumped in to a player with no name who apparently ( not not confirmed ) is a Celtic fan who would like to play for us one day

Hilarious doesn't do it justice

My dad ( who loves mince and frank Sinatra ) works for Celtic in an executive marketing role and he says he saw a lookalikey albeit my dad's eyes are a little unreliable, anyway he says he saw regi blinker Mark 2

Any thoughts?

19 Aug 2016 12:14:52
Just getting a hint of a possible new signing, depending on CL qualification, from what I'm hearing it will break the current transfare ceiling and will be a player that has played under BR previously, the player is a defensive midfielder who has already had informal talks with the club, everything is being kept under wraps to avoid any hi jacking by other clubs, so we are looking at a forrmer or present Chelsea, reading, or Liverpool player who is a DM can't be to many who fit that criteria . HH.

Hail hail

1st time poster, long time reader.

Presuming by wording from Connolly above the answer is lucas leiva. He Brown would be very strong, would give no excuse to Bitton and McGregor not to excel (McGregor has being highly impressive recently)

Was in Derry yesterday talking to someone who presumably knows Duffy and said the move was never on the cards. In all fairness lad was in bar all the day so may be just giving it the big I am.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2016 12:58:47
Hope your right connoly! Been sayin if we get someone in next to brown I'll be happy. where u hearing this buddy? Been a few saying this! Skinnybhoy being one of them! Just hope we're not setting ourselves up for dissapointment with this! Would love it to be true but the sceptic in me says don't get our hopes up! Question for everybody, would you all be dissapointed if we didn't bring in a marquee signing or would u be happy with our business?

Hail hail

First time poster last time reader. Great site lads. Good banter and info.

By the sounds of info/ opinion of Connolly above Lucas Leiva possibly. He would be great addition and compliment Brown. Would be very solid. Would give McGregor and Bitton no excuse to progress (being impressed with McGregor lately) .

Sad to see Brown retiring from international seem to drive him (can't question his loyalty, but hey Celtic's gain

Was talking to a young lad out for his gcse results in Derry yesterday. He had a good few in him and was giving it the big I am, but anyway claimed to be cousin of Duffy and said the was never any contact from Celtic. Luckily seems he done an Ambrose in the last 2games, considering one of last 2 was champ league qualifier. Still believe Duffy is a decent player but maybe when he settles, considering we already have a current quota of bombscares.
