as DD says new manager will be announced in 4 to 5 days. it needs to go through the AIM as Celtic are a plc. that is where the hold up is.

ED, I am not the greatest on this computer stuff so not seeing how to start a new post but.

Please A BIG NO TO KEANE, he has stated the only reason he came to Celtic as a player was to annoy Strachan.

Please anyone with sense read that, he did not come to celtic to play for the jersey or that they were his childhood idols. he did it because he had an immature playground grudge. Do we need this mentality as a manager? I think a BIG NO! Wonderful he has Irish heritage. who cares? Remember he didn't come to celtics as a player to help the club, just to piss off the manager. Tell me how does that help things. and why should we believe he will help the club now?

No. He said WGS was being a bit coy in saying how much he/ we needed him, so wanted to prove WGS wrong, not annoy him. If he didn't like Celtic he could have went to Real without even talking to us.

Remember Keane may have a managerial point to prove.

MON had never set foot inside Parkhead until he came up to sign his contract and the rest is history.

Lets not be to quick to judge the new man whoever this may be, support the choice, get behind him and let the good times role.

We've had a year (or two) of negativity, let's move on.

Reading that Rodgers is in Scotland talkin to club represatives today! Anybody else heard anything? It's on the bbc! Not like that makes it gospel lol. just wanted to see if anyone's heard Anythin?

Gary 92, the difference between Deila and Lenny is that Lenny knows what the expectation level is at Celtic, a draw is a bad result and a defeat is unacceptable to most Celtic supporters, Deila has never managed under those expectation levels before .

I suppose they need to be careful about what they say. People place bets on what they hear. If any clue slips out the bookies will have an avalanche of bets and would suspend betting.

This is what DD said for anyone who hasn't seen it.

"I can say we have talked to a lot of managers, all very good, we are excited about the candidates we have, " Desmond said.

"And hopefully the next four or five days, maybe early next week I hope we'll be able to make an announcement if negotiations are concluded. "

"We've spoken to a lot of managers, " Desmond said. "We like to think that Celtic is a very big club and it needs a great manager to manage such a big club, so we're looking for that type of person. "

"Ronny won two leagues, he added a lot to the club, and he found it difficult last year, which he admitted himself. But again, that era's over now.

Thought that myself kevbhoy . Usual mssm spin trying to put us down . Even on Snyde last nite it was a case of why would Rodgers or moyes come to the back waters of Scottish football? Then on the second hand what a coup it would be for Scottish football if " the rangers " pull off the signing of an epl player in the status of Barton! Championship team of the year, Barnsley player of the year . Pep warbuton spelling power of the epl! Total bias towards them.

Funny how higher and higher profile managers are being mentioned when season ticket renewals are ongoing. Hopefully this time we do deliver. Said Moyes a long time ago based on heads up and no reason to alter opinion

FOLLOWING some speculation regarding the appointment of a new Celtic manager, the facts are as follows:
The club has been and will be speaking to a number of candidates and we will take our time to go through this process thoroughly and in the proper manner. There is no 'preferred' candidate.
We will continue this process with the aim of identifying a new manager who we believe will deliver success to the club.
Clearly we will not be able to provide daily updates on this issue. However, our supporters will be the first to know when a new manager has been appointed.

there hardly gone come out and say BR or anyone else is the preferred candidate more likely there trying to keep media attention at bay and just incase a deal can't be done options are still open. and if everyone has known for about month ronny was leaving why haven't they already got new manager lined up especially since most names mentioned are unemployed!
