Hi ed, really enjoy the site and your input. What do you know about Rabiu Ibrahim? He looks a great talent ad could be a creative number 10 for us, but do you think he will get a run of games as he hasn't had much of a chance so far,
Kenny {Ed007's Note - As far as I know it is more his physical presence that is holding him up, he was seen as a bit lightweight for the SPL but I am hoping he will get a lot more game time in the coming season. There is no doubt about over his talent and the coaches have been impressed by him.}

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Have been told the boy can do anything with a ball ,short of making it speak. However, the issue has been moulding him into being a midfielder in terms of getting the same level of work rate as his teammates.

Maybe being shuttled out of Holland,where his promise is well known, can be a shot in the arm to him and drive him on to maximise his worth to his team.

How unlucky would we be to have the genius mccourt and apparent genius Ibrahim and not be able to trust them both fully when we are crying out for their sort of imagination?

Jamie Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

The biggest problem with the midfield is that the players in there are more functional than creative. Ledley,Victor, Brown, Kayal, and forrest is the most likely to start. Good players don't get me wrong and work effectively but lack a spark. McCourt on occasion has light the place up, from what I've seen so could Ibrahim. I think once the defence is a bit tighter then we can look to balance out the middle of the park more.

Can I ask if there is a reason that izzy hasn't as of yet been in the pre-season games?

Junglebhoy33 {Ed007's Note - He has been on an extended break and is due to join up with the squad this week.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Ah thank you ed, with all the rumours of left backs lately was putting 2+2 together and getting 5

does anybody know what players are starting 2day {Ed007's Note - Forster; Lustig; K. Wilson; Wanyama; Mulgrew; Forrest; Ledley; Kayal; Commons; Hooper; Stokes.

Subs: Zaluska; Brown; McGeouch; McCourt; Murphy; Bangura.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fraser Forster seems to be the best player in every game ! Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Back with a wee post ....Nice to see Big FF doing well Mrs E ...it will do the teams confidence no harm what so ever...Team starting this evening is getting closer to what will be starting line up bar maybe one or two ,me thinks .... any thoughts anyone ....TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed TTTS regarding FF, I'll be glad to see him get even better than last season. One of my fave games was 1-0 against Hearts last December and FF save..superb. I really, really want a defender. Not a right or left back but a solid centre half. Mrs E

Ed can you confirm or correct something for me? A friend of mine said today that the winners of this seasons SPL get automatic entry into next seasons champions league, due to Scotland overtaking Belgium in the coefficient a year or two ago! I didn't think this was the case! Can you clear this up for me mate??

Ice man {Ed007's Note - The winners of the SPL for season 2012/13 enter the CL at the 2nd qualifying round for the 2013/14 tournament, a round earlier than this year.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

This will probably result in us not bein seeded for the latter rounds

toshney blackman, rabui and watt all to go out on loan deals. celtic sham {Ed007's Note - Cardiff have asked about loaning Tony Watt and were told no.}

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Sounds like nonsense to me.............green jhedi

Think he put 2+2 together and got 5 because toshney, blackman, rabui and watt have left Germany to go and play in some development games back here.

with the sly deal hanging in the balance ive been trying to think who else could offer the spl an alternative. what about virgin or bt vision.im not sure what type of money would be on the table but id certainly be willing to cancel my sly contract if they do pull out and id take whatever company decides to show the spl. gives my an excuse to go to the pub for any decent premiership games too!

MK BHOY

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Sly are the biggest shareholders in virginmedia!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Espn will still want involved they made a statement yeasterday

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like the SPL to set up a tv channel. I remember getting a questionnaire about it a few years ago

Agree0 Disagree0

SPL TV could be the way forward and tell sly where to go, they don't value SPL even though per capita there are more subscribers. i would go with ESPN or prime time sports, or even get our own channel, plenty of room for it

Agree0 Disagree0

How are Sly Vergin's biggest shareholder?
I'm sure that would be a conflict no?
How do you know this information? {Ed007's Note - Have a read at these:

www.techradar.com/news/television/skys-purchase-of-virgin-media-tv-what-does-it-mean-694106

Add Lineakers,Hansens and Lawrensons wages together and the total is more that than BBC sre paying for Scottish Football Highlights ie £3m pa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed. So you can't even fart but BSB are charging you for it.

Why does Rupert The Bear wear Tartan trousers?

Cause he's a c**t.

Full page advert for sly subscription in press today for full coverage of spl +
scottish cup and three months access to espn would suggest to me sly arent pulling the plug on scottish football just press scaremongering as usual

I know there's a lot of talk of clubs losing money ect due to sevco being put into the 3rd division. I'm a rugby league player and down south they have Magic weekend which involves all teams playing against their derby team or closest team to them over two days in one stadium. Shoot me down if you think it's a bad idea but possibly next season or the season after I see this as a perfect way to kick off a season or a mid-season event at Hampden. Personally I think the stadium would be filled and all monies would be divided equally which could generate more publicity towards the SPL. Thoughts?

Chad

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Aye it would be like the gaza strip though. Football fans are different than rugby fans mate, its sad but true.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a big RL fan and I think the magic weekend is one of the best sporting weekends in the UK. But, have to agree with the above comment about the trouble, I just wish football fans could beahve the way the RL fans do. Last year at magic weekend I was supporting Wigan and was in between loads of saints fans, you could never do that in football. Good idea mate but sadly couldnt happen

CeltStu

Agree0 Disagree0

Consider yourself (and the idea) well and truely shot down.............. lol
Being a Celtic fan, EVERY weekend is a "magic weekend"!!

HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Chad, one of the problems we all face is the "it wont work so lets not bother" approach which we as a nation seem to be afflicted. Yes there would be challenges, but as a civilized country we should be able to pull off any sporting event without violence. If enough homework was done by the authorities and initiatives including a zero approach to violence message was adopted etc; then why not? To imply all football fans are violent or/and badly disciplined is really not helpful. One of the other issues of course is that to do something like this or to even suggest it takes balls. As we know the suits who run the game in Scotland are lacking in that department. For that reason alone your excellent suggestion will fall on rocky ground. Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough the violence could be a problem but the only way to solve a problem is to encounter it. I think people forget 95% of rugby fans support a football team as well

Chad

Agree0 Disagree0

A really think this is a good shout, be a decent avenue to go down

I totally support the sell out saturday campaign and as celtic are in the usa that weekend i hope a lot of our fans will go to see another game that day however to make it fair all the away teams on that day should sort out another date so that they can get the benefit from it as well. Tulip

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Celtic sell out most of the allocation for away games anyway apart from rugby park as we get two full stands

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction

Hey Ed, was there any truth in the Simon Cox rumours? I never heard anyone mention his name previously!

Also is Ki any closer to signing for anyone?

Davey {Ed007's Note - Cox was mentioned a couple of months ago by newspapers but I doubt there is any truth in it. QPR are still the frontrunners to sign Ki, they might be waiting to offload Barton before finalising the deal.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I would take Barton! For all his faults he would still be an asset to the team.

Ed, or fellow supporters. Do you have any idea when tickets for 1st game of the season go on public sale? I'm guessing things were slightly held up by all the lunch meetings between SFA, SPL, SFL?! My 2 sons won't sleep until they know tickets are in the bag, can we now all get on with playing fitba?!
Keep up the good work Ed in the upcoming season

Apologies if this has been posted before..

The word from Talk Celtic is that Celtic have booked a medical on friday afternoon...

Hopefully it will be one of the two defenders linked in the papers today, although I can see Lenny pulling a rabbit out the hat and producing a centre back that noones heard of like he did with Wanyama etc..

HH

Codgeyy88

Believable7 Unbelievable9

I heard it was booked for Monday (yesterday) but was rescheduled for Friday, possibly waiting for the ki deal to be completed

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope we get a couple in before the end of august. might need to wait until deadline day and see who needs to be moved on.

Agree0 Disagree0

My good friend in Norway works as a scout for Aalesunds and he tells me that Markus Henriksen is 100% headed for Celtic and soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm actually disappointed that with the Champs league starting very soon, we still haevn't got the new faces in working with the current players, once again it looks like we are hanging around and will end up bringing in a cpl of players near the end of the summer and this could cost us in Europe
