In fairness he did say it would be a surprise

This is clearly a bam up. No doubt about it. One of the worst left backs to play for Hibs in recent years, so why the f*ck would be get a move to the champions?

The Bhoys getting their well deserved mid season winter break in Marbella and already signed up Gershon and Rogic, its just great to have such a well managed, successful club. One of the top 16 teams in Europe, focus on football, knowing the club is being well run by an outstanding board of Directors, awesome sponsorship deal, its just all great.....

To The Celtic Fans Who Don't Have
Season Tickets And Didn't Get A Ticket
For The 16 I Feel For You
But Celtic Have 3 Games This Week Including
A Semi Final At Hampden I Suggest That
The £49 You Were Willing To Pay For
The Last 16 Go Along And Buy A Ticket
For Either Hearts On Saturday Or Dundee Utd
On Tuesday And Get Your Ticket For St Mirren
At Hampden

We Love You And Where You Go We Follow
Cause We Support The Celtic And That's The
Way We Like

Well said?don't think so mate, think its scandalous, the empty seat brigade I.e season ticket holders should be limited to 2 tickets, some of us non season ticket holders get to as many games as them, spend as much on merchandising, doesn't mean we are less of a Celtic supporter or deserve to miss out on seeing our team.

Goldenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Well put Goldenbhoy, you could have went down the route of some of the other "season ticket holders" on here and had a dig, but as I read it, it's a fair point! I also agree with the nameless post tho, not that I think I should be due a ticket before any season ticket holder, but there should be no goading of I'm this or that, I've not got a ticket for the Juve game and I'm over the moon it's sold out, but it doesn't make me any less of a supporter.

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

That's quite a smug response goldenbhoy for someone who probably was fortunate to get 3 tix for juve. Circumstances dictate that other fans, no doubt as strong as you or more, can't afford ST or to be honest were prepared to spend a lot of money to see a top euro side but won't want to spend ott pricing to see spl games. Factor in transport etc and Dundee united for me, coming from Dundee, is not appealing on a wintry tues evening. you attending all games or using ure ST to cherry pick

All Fans Of A Great Club I'm Just Saying

My grandad has a season ticket and he was going to take me and my brother with his 2 additional tickets! He started to phone at 9.30 got through after 7 attempt was on the phone for 1hour 45minutes at 15p/minute to be told sorry we are all sold out! Its terrible how they treat there own fans sometimes!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but I had a season ticket from 2002 up until 2009. I stopped going to the game because the person I went with died and I am younger so struggled to afford a ticket.

I agree that season ticket holders deserve first option without a doubt

but i'm confused, why do they get to buy extra tickets to their pals who hardly go to games. it's just a bit rotten imo.

me and family gave 7 years of consistent backing financially with season tickets and due to unfortunate circumstances couldn't continue.

I always plan on coming back when I get myself back on my feet but to not even get the opportunity to attempt to buy a ticket, it's been given to season tickets holders pals who a lot of probably hardly ever go to games.

Agree0 Disagree0

The whys and wherefores are quite simple. CFC are rewarding people for buying season tickets. CFC are only interested in supporters who will shell out for season books and want to encourage more to do likewise. I am not saying the club does not care about the casual supporter or the supporter who cannot afford a season book it's just that they for financial reasons see them as less influential in the affairs of the club. Season book holders buy in make the effort required and show faith and get rewarded its that simple. I do think CFC should consider more ways of looking after poor and poorer fans. For example say we have 2000 seats that just don't sell. People can apply if they are for example unemployed or on low wages and then a lottery is made every home game week dependent upon availability that week for a free ticket for one of these unsold seats. I know the guys who make extra sacrifices working an extra shift or doing without in order to afford their book may be a bit peeved but most people could see merit in this sort of scheme. Of course there has to be safeguards to stop abuses but its 2000 genuine fans who will probably buy a coke or a burger or a programme so it's not all negative financially and it's 2000 more supporting the Bhoys. The figures are only examples and the suggestion is only an example taken off the top of my head so don't hang me if you don't agree but give it some thought and maybe your ideas will be much better than mine. Sopotcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody is saying season ticket holders shouldn't be rewarded.

but why should they be able to purchase 2 extra tickets to give to their pals who obviously don't have a season ticket?

Agree0 Disagree0

Pi$$ poor in my eyes ! go to every home game when I'm home from offshore with my 2 boys ! Due to staying in the north east of scotland it cost a fortune to get to games ie travel costs as well ! A voucher system should be in place for non season book holders ! Instead the glory hunters that never turn up to the games that matter to get us there, go too the big games !

It wouldn't surprise me if Newcastle bid for Hooper now that they've missed out on Remy. He isn't going to sign a new contract so we must try and get as much money for him as possible and this is our best window to do so. £8million and they can have him

LM67

Believable13 Unbelievable11

Looks like norwich have ended their interest...have made a 5mil bid for Danny Graham.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hooper's in good form at the moment. Defo a £10m player just now, however, if he plays well and scores against Juve then he's defo £15m

Any truth that Juve tickets are for sale on the net for a huge mark up? If so i would hope Celtic take action against ANY fan trying to rip of our own kind.Jeeze, no one tried it in Seville. It is not our way!..........green jhedi

Believable11 Unbelievable7

You're joking about seville? there were tickets being sold for way over the top prices.
davy

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard about a fella offered a (Seville) ticket for £700, said he'd take it and the seller met him at the airport (Glasgow) and told him it was now £1000! pea

Agree0 Disagree0

Its been online about touts selling them on gumtree, they left there number wanting £200& have been getting abusive calls since posting, deseves all he gets.as he also posted f*ck celtic.....I was in milan & witnessed a few touts being attacked& tickets took of them&gave too the guys who where after them....stevo

Agree0 Disagree0

There were hundreds of so called celtic fans ripping their fellow fans off in Seville. going rate was 500 euros

Agree0 Disagree0

I cannot believe this! It makes me so sad. Pathetic individuals, low life impostors and NOT football fans never mind celtic fans!

I really hope people do not pay this price. It's a scandal people would abuse their "privilege" for extra tickets to profiteer.

I do wonder, however, how many tickets are listed and how many are genuine? Can see the boycott brigade being unhappy at the coverage Scotland's premier clubs fans received on national telly. I'm half joking there

No fans of our club and should be challenged by the club.

Jamie mac

Agree0 Disagree0

I got offered tickets in Seville for £1000 and others for £2000 so fans do rip other fans off.I never managed to get a ticket for Juve game either.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many of the people trying to get tickets are glory hunters that won't shell out for tickets for hearts hibs ross county e.t.c as far as i can see all the tickets have been bought by season ticket holders they should get first chance at the tickets but they should have set some aside for people who bought the 3 game package and others by not allowing season ticket holders to buy more than two tickets per season book/card.
bigD

Agree0 Disagree1

I blame the club for this. I am not a season ticket holder as I simply can't afford it so I guess idon't have as much of a say as everyone else. What did we expect though when they allowed 2 extra tickets per season ticket holder

Agree0 Disagree0

In answer to the touting claims in Seville I must just have been lucky. My bro in law and two nephews were there a week before the match with tickets.I arrived the day before the game and we could only manage one ticket which a guy from c/nauld sold for face value..............green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2013 20:59:51
I am a season ticket holder however I was attempting to get an extra ticket today as a gift for someone. However the way it was run today was farcical, they allowed 2 per season ticket with up to 3 season tickets allowed to be used each time. Realistically there would have been about 12000 tickets left by the time season ticket holders, uefa dignitaries and segrigation is taken into count. With the majority of people in the que getting 6 this only meant around 2000 people getting tickets. Personal opinion is for massive games like this where your guaranteed a sell out it should be ran in a similar fashion to the away games, where you apply for tickets and put in a ballot and if successful charged.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see both sides of the story but here's my opinion. Season ticket holders get preferential treatment for being season ticket holders ... Fair enough ... But .... Does that mean their friends and family should also get preferential treatment over the genuine fans who in this climate couldn't afford a season ticket but DO go to as many games as they can afford, I for one don't think so.

There will be many fans out there who have been to a large percentage of games this season who will not get a ticket yet a season ticket holder can take along their wife, husband, kids or friends who quite probably have not been to one single game this season but simply fancy going to a glamour tie..... That's simply not fair and I fully understand the disappointment of many of our fans

Gary

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the last post, Gary, is making a fair point. Season ticket holders should receive preferential treatment. They have shelled-out cash in advance. However, glamour ties like this should be restricted to ensure the loyal supporters get a shot at a ticket. Set a number of attendances as proof of being a club supporter and they should be next in line. The club will get the cash for the ticket regardless but will also be seen to be caring about the supporters who attend the "not so glamorous ties" week in and week out. Not only that, the atmosphere created by true supporters at Celtic Park is second to none. Hail Hail. TinyTim

Cant believe this thers actually fans on gumtree sellin ther extra juve tickets for £200 fkn shockin that fellow celtic fans would would do this 2 fellow supportes chargin scandalous prices when good honest folk couldn't get any extra tickets today coz they ended up sold out and what's more shockin is the fact that it was our fellow season ticket holders that wer ther today so its 1 of our own doin it totally disgusted by it if your not usin the ticket then at least sell it face value 2 a fellow fan. Tickets are dear enough as it is without other celtic fans rippin the complete p1ss out other cetic fans. Some may not agree but personally a think its out of order. Sorry for the rant folks just thot it was terrible that's all

gunniebhoy

Believable18 Unbelievable4

Celtic must have the seat allocation against the season book. They have to take action on this asap.Contact the book holder tell them to return the tickets or they will void their seats and re sell it. This is disgusting, and as you say this is season ticket holders here. There were people in that queue since 5 am!.............green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

I think its disgusting. I bought the three match package and gave to a family member as on holiday. I stupidly bought two tickets through Gumtree for Spartak game, both turned out to be fake and ticket office were so unhelpful. paid over the odds and a trip to Hamilton and Aberdeen petrol money down drain by rip off supporters

Agree0 Disagree0

Crooks tend not to care about their victims. CFC should never have allowed ST holders to purchase two extra tickets. I mean, what on earth did they think would happen. Simply, the registered purchaser of those tickets should be banned and turned away at the turnstiles.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2013 16:02:32
Juventus tickets sold out. Each Season TIcket holder is allowed 3 tickets. Say we have 40,000 season ticket holders, that is a potential demand for 120,000 tickets. Then there is the non-st holders that have bought the 3 match package that haven't got a look in Somebody somewhere has got it all wrong.

Samson

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Mostly everyone will know someone with a season ticket though Samson. Agreed not all but most and selling direct to st holders eliminates the oppurtunity for touts to a higher degree.

It's more or less a public sale anyway when you dig into it- all the tickets left over were sold to a st holder yes but will, of course, be passed on to a non st holder.

Jamie mac

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see the logic in selling tickets to people you know for a fact isnt going to use them ( because they already got their own ) then wonder why they are being touted the fans who bought the 3 game package should have got first shout imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Majority of people trying get tickets in person today would have borrowed someones book to buy!! the whole point is allowing to many tickets per book plus 3 transactions, therefore we who chased and forked out at the home group games feel hard done by. danny

Agree0 Disagree0

Am a season ticket holder and iv got my tickets but I still feel it was the wrong way their wasnt a problem with the barca game or any other so why change it this time all it has done its caused a few problems and tickets being touted for stupid money

With the news that the Juve tickets have sold out get ready for moaning fans being fast tracked onto clydes phone in tonight.I really do hope im wrong but i would think some fans will be moaning about this. While i feel sorry for any one who will miss it, what else can Celtic do? The only thing i can think, to save fans queueing in the freezing cold, would be postal applications.First come first served, pay when applying and add three quid for courier delivery to your door.Seems workable to me...............green jhedi

Believable7 Unbelievable1

I think the decision to allow season ticket holders to purchase 2 extra tickets each was a bit misguided!

Surely 1 extra is plenty and would allow everyone else at least an opportunity to purchase 1.

Those who purchased a 3 match package for the group stages, in my opinion, can feel hard done by to not even have the opportunity to purchase a ticket for this round.

Ah well, maybe the ticket sales will be structured differently for the QF !!

Armagh Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately you could be right GJ, another great days work done in paradise, no fuss, no hassle, just working away on our own fortunes and yet there will be negativity drummed up by certain media outlets!
I disagree with the pricing of tickets for SPL but still go when I can because celtics my team, £49 for CL last 16 isn't too bad (for some/most people), amazing to see the turn out for tickets this morning and it could probably have sold out twice over! What a Club and what a support, how can anybody put a negative spin on that? It also wouldn't surprise me if we get slated for "only" spending £450,000 on Rogic instead of 2-3 mil buy, we'll see who's laughing when this guy banks us another small fortune, if we sell that is :)
Like I said another great day at the office.

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry GJ, I veered away from your point a wee bit ha ha... As a club with a support as big as ours it's inevatable there will be probs with tickets for games of this size! Even if you had limited it to 1 extra ticket which would have been a better idea, there would still be problems and unhappy supporters.

Bigbadjohn

Agree1 Disagree0

NO doubt the media will somehow find a negative story, i.e fans arguing jostling etc..stevo

Agree0 Disagree0

The most annoying thing is some 'fans' who purchased extra tickets are now offering them for sale on certain websites for £200+. so did they only buy them to make a fast buck from fellow fans who were not as fortunate?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think £49 for general sale tickets is a bit steep especially as alot of people are struggling to make ends meet these days. The club will probably make one the biggest profits they have ever made this season, but will any of it be spent on players who are ready to walk into the team? I doubt it.

Agree0 Disagree0

For anyone dissapointed at not getting a ticket for juventus,

Celtic are for life not just for europe,

so please feel free to suport us at another match throughout the year!

too many big time harrys!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

To big time harry 100% bang on my man.......hh ynwa....jimthetim.....

Agree0 Disagree0

If you do postal votes it would end up like away tickets and the same people and fans groups that get tickets just now would get priority

Agree0 Disagree0

Jimthetim, I get your point mate but i've already made a point. Some people can't afford a season ticket and to go every week but do go as much as can be afforded yet have no chance of a ticket for Juve game. Don't be so ignorant as to say go every week or eff off, that's a ridiculous statement mate. If I could afford to I would go every week and take my kids like my dad took me. I was a season ticket holder for 12 years but due to financial restraints and work issues had to give it up this season and trust me it was certainly not through choice so maybe think a wee bit before coming out with such a distasteful comment

Gary

Agree0 Disagree0

And what about those who don't live in Glasgow or nearby, who travel when they can with the added cost of flights and hotels. Are they less entitled to a ticket than someoned who is fortunate enough to know a season ticket holder?

Armagh bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Am a season ticket holder I get my tickets throu direct debit scheme for all competitions and ill be at the juvy game ... but even I think the arrogance from some fans is disgusting I thought it was only zombies that where as pathetic as that and just because we got a ticket doesn't make us any better or more of a supporter as anyone else

Strong Rumours going round that Neil Lennon has struck a deal to sign Patrick Bürger from SV Mattersburg in Austria. He is an Austrian international player. He has been in talks with Reading Wigan and West Ham but has been said to be excited at the prospect of winning league titles and playing Champions League football surely this must mean one of the strikers we already have must go. Personally i would say goodbye to Miku abs useless should never have got the number 7 jersey

@ Antony, his record before that was even better than 17 from 40!! 1 goal every 2 games! Before that it wasn't great, but he would just be making his way in the game at that point. Hoopers record wasn't great until he went to Scunthorpe.

Not far off with the numbers, so to say the guy has a "very poor" scoring rate when it's 1 every 2 games for the last 4 yrs is a wee bit off! There will be no general sale for the Juventus CL tie after demand this morning for the tickets.

Massive queue down london road from 7 o'clock this morning. Club officials stopped anymore people joining the queue at 9am.

£49 a ticket clearly not putting the fans off.

Fantastic response at that price during tough economical times. Anyone with a brain would see this is where the the fans are spending they're cash and why the SPL attendances are lower this term.

Gonna be an amazing atmosphere, hopefully get a result to match it. Hail Hail
