Any squad news reports suggest Allan could get some game time?

Seemed like he was talking about after the league was wrapped up to me Rich T.

Why would that happen?

Wheve our own boys that night game time not someone who is away to another club.

Wee shouldn’t give game time and progress them for a different club *.

Unfortunately Allan never really got a chance at Celtic which surprised me as he always looked like a lad with real talent. I know we could all say that he wasn't better than what we had in his position but how do we know for sure? He never got a run of games to show what he could really do and I suspect we only signed him to piss Sevco off. He's going to another team because we didn't give him a reason to stay. No-one can blame him for wanting to play competitive games. HH.

{Ed007's Note - Unfortunately Allan still has the same problems that have dogged him his entire career - lazy & unfit with a serious attitude problem.
I said when we signed him that he wasn't good enough for Celtic and would be lucky to make our bench yet if he had went to Ibrox he would have been their star man, even Stubbs who managed Allan during the best season of his career blasted his attitude and commitment when he took him to Rotherham on loan.
Let's not try and rewrite history regarding Allan, he'll go down as one of our worst and most pointless signings in recent years. I'd actually put him in the same bracket as the likes of Compper and Benyu, the difference is that we should have known exactly what we were getting with Allan.}

Ed i got ripped to pieces on here and on a few other Celtic sites on Facebook because I said he wasn't good enough.
Liam Henderson was a million times better than Allen and we sent him to hibs on loan then lost him altogether.
Celtic fans were blinded because we got one over the mob.
Was just an expensive up your 🖕 basically.

{Ed007's Note - That's the only reason I can think of too, Kev. It certainly couldn't have been a footballing one imo.}

If he is the most creative midfielder available, and he is getting paid by Celtic, it is crazy not to play him just to satisfy you guys that don't appreciate his ability's, he always seemed to play well at Hibs, didn't see any evidence of him being lazy when playing for Lennon,

Aindoh I've seen you back Allan a few times. Sorry, but there's a different class between being a Celtic player and a Hibs player. Different gravy. Given that he was a JP signing though I'm really surprised he hasn't cemented a place for us by now.

He was worth every penny, just to annoy the bluenoses. ;)

Jimtim, the same thing was said about LG, think the Ed was most voiciferous in saying that LG wasn't good enough, just because he was a good player at Hibs didn't mean he would be good enough for Celtic, LG was almost sent back to Hibs on loan by Superronnie, but instead was given a chance to prove he was different gravy, unfortunately for Allen, he got sent out on loan, and never prospered at Celtic, while others like Biton, (who should never be anywhere near a Celtic midfield) , were given a chance, Allen's chance is now gone, but if we are short of creative midfielders, it's madness not to play Allen.

There's probably a middle ground Aindoh and JT. I don't think Allan is good enough to be a Celtic player but we do know he can do it against Scottish opposition. Added to that, I've seen other players given games who shouldn't have so it makes you wonder just how bad an attitude he might have.

I think the difference is Aindoh LG came in and changed his attitude, worked hard to make an impact. Allan hasn't. Nor did he even make an impact at the likes of Dundee or Rotherham.

Griffiths ablitiy was never in doubt, it was his mentality and there is still major question marks over it.

He should look at the giving Weah more game time rather than Allan. Might end up ruining future loans from PSG and Co because we don't play them.

I wouldn't have a problem with Allan playing or on the bench if he's the best available player for the imagined role. Hard to see how that situation might arise, even with the injuries; Henderson has shown up really well.

I was one of those who were wrong bout Allan. I saw him a bit because my Dad's a hibee. Its a shame he's languished so deep in our squad. Good player, if not good enough. Who is!
