just got told from a mate on another forum that on Portuguese tv the maritimo president says they have agreed a deal with Celtic

Believable19 Unbelievable8

Celtic are still negotiating to have first refusal on the player. Good job, Sochaux are interested and will be looking to use the 6m they will receive off Newcastle for Maiga.

Once again the Green Brigrade dragging Celtic through the dirt I cant understand the people who say teh bring more good to Celtic than bad they are a disgrace.

BertyBhoy

Believable42 Unbelievable31

Green brigade begining 2 b like dare i sayit the tartan army they think every1 loves them ive been going 2 c tic over 30 years we dont need them brining great name of celtic through the dirt take their season tkt off them now

Agree0 Disagree0

So you would rather the whole stadium sat in silence?
I never go to a game to watch Celtic I go to support them.
Unfortunately too many people inside the stadium are not supporters but merely customers who pay their money to be entertained.
When Neil Lennon said he wanted to bring back the thunder, it's the Green Brigade who are backing that and bringing the noise that has been missing. {Ed007's Note - Singing songs that are getting the club into trouble is 'thunder' the club can do without. Have you not listened to our manager? Or do you only back him when it suits you to play the 'everybody hates us' card?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ed yes the green brigade bring atmosphere to the stadium but these people need to understand the damage they are causing to the reputation of the club they claim to love they seem to think they can protest about anything and everything in this day and age not all of us feel opressed maybe when they are out of their teens and grow up they will realise the error of their ways

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that the songs that are getting us into trouble has to be cut out. but it doesn't matter what club you support their is a minority that sing the wrong songs.
At the moment it's the Celtic fans that are getting the bad press but at the end of the day it will get stamped out from within. And in any case it's not the songs that have been highlighted in the most recent case. It's and anti-uefa banner (which was daft) and flares (which if uefa have a problem with then they will need to fine most clubs in Europe. I agree with most of what you are saying Ed except the only backing Lenny when it suits us.
Lenny is a hero to us all and through thick and thin will receive the backing of the support. {Ed007's Note - Well why not stop singing these songs as he has asked? That is not showing him the respect he deserves as, you rightly say, a hero to our support.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I enjoy the atmosphere they create but the only way i can see them stopping is by making them pay the fines they earn us {Ed007's Note - Fines might not be the only punishment if it goes on. The club could always just shut down 111 and give it back to general supporters. It was given as a singing section, not a political platform. Nobody is bigger than the club, especially a group of fans that are more trouble than they are worth.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lawell to move the green brigade to other parts of the ground to break them up. Love the green brigades passion for the club but their current messages are disgusting.

Agree0 Disagree0

These same clowns bring trouble to the club every time.Are they disciplined NO they are rewarded with tickets for every away game the want including sought after tickets that lawvabiding well behaved supporters are not given a chance to get.It's about time the club stamped out this minorities behaviour.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know for certain it was member of the green brigade that had the banner could have been some hangers on for all u know found guilty before trial {Ed007's Note - Does it matter? Whether it is a GB member or not, he is being dealt with, isn't that good enough? As for your hangers on and guilty before trial guff, do you realise how pathetic you sound you complete mug! The GB are fast becoming the hangers on to the majority of the CFC support. I wonder what would happen if people said they wouldn't be renewing STs until the GB are under control and not dragging the club's reputation down. For the good of the club and in this financial climate I think you will find that 111 would be split up ASAP.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is the GB mentioned, there is nothing that suggests it was GB who were in attendance. GB is becoming a generic term for any fan who sings or puts his head above the parapet. Please believe me, I am not a GB or a section 111 member. {Ed007's Note - It doesn't matter if it is a GB member or not FFS can't you read? Anyone who behaves like that and thinks they are above the 'law' at matches deserves all they get. The GB have been highlighted again because they have previous and are gaining notoriety for such behaviour i.e. illicit chanting, causing the club to be fined, bringing the spotlight onto our club, embarrassing the club and their fellow fans with questionable banners etc.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I,m nothing to do with the gb ive been going to game every week for 35 years dont call me a mug ********************........

{Ed007's Note - At your age then I would expect you to have a better grasp of the written language then you illiterate tosser. If I've offended you by calling you a mug then is tosser better suited? Don't even try to threaten me you complete plank.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets Boo the GB when they start singing illicit songs. There's no place 4 them at CP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed why are you being so aggressive to other Celtic fans!! It`s not called for after all we all have Celtic`s best interests at heart. Do you really need to be abusive?. {Ed007's Note - When it is required and I am getting abuse then yes. If you have CFC's best interest at heart you would agree with our manager, the majority of fans and our Chief Executive that this nonsense is dragging the club down. If you don't like hearing the facts I suggest you use another site. All of us editors are facing one of our busiest times and we can't be ar5ed listening to idiots as we have better things to do with our time than listen to morons who don't have a clue, even about their own club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ed, first poster but this nonsense is ruining good celtic reputation think what T.B would say to them {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site. TB would probably the same as NL is saying. The good of the club should come before anything else. Take pride in being a CFC supporter rather than sully the name and reputation we have built up over the years. There is no excuse for tarnishing the club's good name. If you love the club so much why would you want to harm it? It is basic common sense.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Take every season ticket off the green brigade , we dont need a mob like them bringing the clubs good name down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen ed and the rest of you pc brigade
sticks and stones, i love lenny my kid is named after the guy but he asked for the thunder hes gettin the thunder, the songs
were sung before lenny(B.L) and will be sung after you,me and lenny are gone.
i am not part of the green brigade but for
heavens sake let the people sing their storys and their songs,,,,its history and the song says if you know your HISTORY its enough to make yer heart go,,,,, {Ed007's Note - I am far from PC mate believe me but if you are happy enough to be banned from future European competitions, the club constantly paying fines and other sanctions against them that is your choice. Let's hope we never have another Seville though because fans might not able to go and support the team. Since he asked for thunder has he not also asked for these chants and songs to stop? Consider the fact that maybe somewhere higher up the tree there has been a quiet word that this needs to stop before it starts affecting sponsorship, European participation or any invite to another league in the future. It's a bigger picture than a singing section at CP, let the club deal with it, there will only be one winner and that will be the club, they are fed up asking now and are starting to take action. The GB never have been or ever will be bigger than the club, nobody is. Obviously you don't know your history. I take it you also think Rangers fans should be allowed to sing the songs that they have been in trouble over? Maybe the GB could get in touch with Rangers, Hearts, Hibs etc fans that feel the same and form an alliance after all their aim is the same is it not? Throw in Man Utd, LFC and Leeds Utd fans who think it is ok to sing about Munich, Hillsborough and Turkey and you could have quite a tidy little group there. They can all get together and have a right old sing song, I'm sure it would be trouble free after all it's all just freedom of speech isn't it? Or do you think Rangers deserved to be fined and banned from travelling but the CFC fans that do it are being picked on?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ed! I admire the enthusiasm and atmosphere the GB bring to the game but sadly they are believing their own hype. The problem is they think they represent the opinion of all Celtic fans and sadly everything they do reflects on all of us. I was mortified with the poppy banner, as were all of those who sit around me in the Jock Stein stand but the latest stuff is just stupidity. You can't take on UEFA and win, as Sion will now find out. Let's be proud of our club, proud of our Scottish and Irish heritage but stop hijacking the football club for personally held political beliefs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether it was the GB or not I'd drive them and theil like out of Celtic for good. If they seriously care for the club and have any grasp of history they would know this has no place at Celtic. Fed up with their like and fed up when anyone who critisises them is told they are in someway a lesser supporter. There is a place for morons like that but it can be found on the South side - NOT at Celtic Park. End section 111. {Ed007's Note - If they leave the politics at the gate and concentrate on supporting the team I have no problem with them. True supporters have the club's best interests at heart.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I havent seen such a hotly debated issue on here in a while but i agree 100% with you Ed007. The GB need to be removed before we are punished further; the sectarian chants and banners are not needed or wanted by the majority of fans and if they continue our clubs good name will suffer. i have never been back to Celtic Park since the anti-poppy banners were on display, that was a disgrace to the club and the league. I have a brother in the navy and a cousin in the army, both have fought for their country in Iraq and Afghanistan. i am proud to call them family and they are both Celtic Fans and attend games as often as possible, i guess the GB would not like them as there hands are "blood stained"! Football beleifs and Political beleifs should be seperate, leave the hate filled vile chants and banners at home and simply support the team by singing many other songs that are about the Clubs History and Acheivements, Not about ancient religeous conflicts that have no place in football. They say they are responsible for the thunder coming back to Celtic Park, well if they continue this course of action then they will have over 50,000 bringing the thunder to them and forcing them out of Celtic Park as there is no place for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not part of the green brigade but for
heavens sake let the people sing their storys and their songs,,,,its history and the song says if you know your HISTORY its enough to make yer heart go,,,,,

---------------------------------------

What do the I*A and stuff like that have to do with the history of celtic?? Why sing songs about and the like? they have NOTHING to do with Celtic. We have plenty of songs about the club, and former players that we cansing. Ban the green brigade, before we get banned for the stupid views of a mindless minority, who sing about irelands freedom, yet the clostest that they have ever been to the place is having a pint of guinness in bairds {Ed007's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed you asked me a question then didnt
text my answer for other people to see
whats up did my answer stump you ................
{Ed007's Note - You do not have the intelligence to stump me going by your posts. Your post was edited like this one simply because you are a twisted little bigot.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We were at the game last weekend and if the Green Brigade hadn't been there it would have been a quiet stadium. They had the ground buzzing

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed: that's what were up against mate, too many he'll bent on destroying our club {Ed007's Note - I have no problem with the atmosphere created, just cut out the stuff that is bring the spotlight on our club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed it was me who said we should drive them out. I agree with you they'd be fine if they left the politics out of it but the probblem is they've been given chance after chance to do so and keep letting us down. Its once too often - I'd not give them another one {Ed007's Note - Some people do feel like that.}

I see we might be in trouble for waving an anti-UEFA flag at last nights game. Yet again the idiotic minority think they are bigger than club and can do what they want. Getting sick of talking about our fans instead of football. We seem a million miles away from our fair play award we recieved in 04.

Joeshmo1888

Believable32 Unbelievable5

Why should they get in trouble for displaying a banner though? Football games aren't dictatorships people :S

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps not but is their any need for it. These people are morons and they should know better. There is a way to protest and using that sort of language isn't it. Also, its not just the banner. They were warned about flares but used them anyway. These are illegal in Italy so I hope those involved face the full force of the law. What a pity we have to discuss this after a great showing from the team. Paul {Ed007's Note - Well said Paul. It's a sad day when off the field problems over-shadow a great performance.}
