Looks like Kelvin Wilson could be out for Sunday, hamstring pull. Thats a blow.

Drew

Believable3 Unbelievable10

If this is true then fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu :@ would go with wanyama/rogne and mulgrew but expect majstorovic

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is this true about big Kelvin?was working backshift last night didnt see the game how did we get on i know we got beat 2-0 but thats it.MACCA {Ed007's Note - Not 100% sure about Wilson yet MACCA. We actually played quite well mate, and wait for it, Samaras had a good game!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Smamaras had a good game. Do you have a white stick and a labrador, he never chased, tackled or got involved. Passenger throughout {Ed007's Note - He had a good game, how can anyone fail to see that?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed,just cant believe what the papers say,hope big Kelvin is ok,did he not play the full 90mins.MACCA {Ed007's Note - Yeah he lasted the full match.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed the irony! the guy implies your blind but cant even look at how you spelled Samaras.MACCA {Ed007's Note - I never even noticed that lol}

Agree0 Disagree0

How bright you are you spotted the deliberate mistake. buy that guy a coconut

Agree0 Disagree0

If Wilson doesn't play I expect Loovens and Mulgrew at centre half, El Kadouri back in at LB. I think Lennon rates Loovens more than most of us. If you think back to the start of the season, Cardiff then Hibs the starting centre halfs were Loovens and Wilson. I think that was his first choice for the season. Also, I thought Samaras had a good game last night.

Agree0 Disagree0

Deliberate mistake, made me laugh easy to say that once you have made it ;0) MACCA

Return flight to Madrid £200. Ticket to the match £40. Hotel £180. Listening to Atletico Madrid fans sing Glasgow Rangers champions. PRICELESS
Bazza

Believable12 Unbelievable10

Pi55 off back to your rock. Anyone called bazza obviously has issues. {Ed007's Note - Big Issues?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think cause you changed the prices that gives you the right to put your name to It, at least be original YA MUPPET

Mark

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed why do you let posts like this on the Celtic page. {Ed007's Note - Why shouldn't I? The site isn't exclusive to CFC fans, that would defeat the whole purpose of a banter site. Strange question!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thing is celtic will still make 4-5M from gate receipts and Tv rights! And lennon will receive funds in january due to this bonus.....AS

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that what you paid to get there just to sing your wee song ? Should have given the money to the tax man silly billy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather lose in spain than lose in court to bain

Agree0 Disagree0

What hotel you staying at for £1800! You could stay at Ipox for weeks for £180!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think most Celtic fans were realistic about what they thought would be the outcome of lasts nights game. A draw would've been great for the club but Athletico are a class side.

However, the people of snake mountain choose to be unrealistic about the impending tax case, believing that if they continue to say 3 in a row and we are the people that the tax case will disappear.

Rangers FC not in Europe and on its knees financially. PRICELESS just doesn't sum up how we Celtic fans feel right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who said Celtic will get between £4m-£5m in gate receipts, is that supposed to annoy Rangers fans ? at least we get to watch a comedy show every Thursday when Celtic are playing. BTW DO NOT start going on about the tax man etc, do you honestly think Whyte wouldn't have known all about the accounts records before he took over ? that's why it took so long to complete.

Agree0 Disagree0

It would have to be PRICELESS as yous dont exactly have the funds to pay them:0) MACCA

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely its a compliment for these cretins to be on OUR (glorious Tims) page and watching OUR European Campaign because they must be bored reading about how their miden of a club is going into insolvency. "for every £5 Celtic spend, we'll spend.......eh, eh, well nothing cause we're skint!"

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not a compliment, it's banter & btw, there are a lot of Celtic fans on the champions page but hey it's all good banter.
I have family members who are Rangers & Celtic fans, we hate each other for 90 mins but will have a beer & a laugh with each other after the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Might be banter but its s**te banter! Regurgitated carlsberg jokes.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm thinking he/she just wanted to post the joke and have no reply...didums. There's no doubt CW had a plan but does he have a plan B & what is it ? Administration, as the main creditor he would possibly benefit from this ! Buy the club back from the Administrator debt free however, does he have the football acumen to rebuild it after what will defo be a major setback. {Ed007's Note - It is doubtful that Whyte would be the main creditor.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Other than the business with HMRC..I think he is {Ed007's Note - It is not clear who controls the floating-charge on Rangers assets. It is Whyte or Lloyds, no statement has been released to determine which.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to laugh at you Celtic fans, you seem to think you know everything about Rangers finances, tell you what, stick to worrying about your own team, especially for Sunday, 3-0 Rangers. {Ed007's Note - Another Rangers fans that has a very jovial outlook. Why do they feel a need to tell us they 'got to laugh'? It's not Twitter where people tell everyone what they are doing. Just laugh away, you don't need to let everyone know.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Like it ED007. "GOT TO SAY" i highly doubt that this guy is a rangers fan because there is nothing to laugh about from maison de manky mob Ibrox so he cant be laughing. Just stick to your own page ya tumshy!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know this should be an the banter page but i have to say. rangers have been skint for 3 years and outperformed celtic. lennon has less money this year than last year so no problem at this end. as far as the tax bill that everone is going on about not even the tax man has a total so people are only ever saying it could be up to blablabla. not a worried rangers fan -__- looking forward to sunday should be a good game.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the orc posters on this site why bother. unlike the poster who said it was a "hate" thing for 90mins I'm afraid for the majority it goes way beyond that and I have absolutely no interest in what drivel uve to post. Its banal, idiotic, mumbling, cringe worthy diatribe. Toddle off back to ure own site while uve still got a team to talk about.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers on their knees you say. I believe that has been the case since Smith came back. Honestly, makes celtics pitiful achievements since then, look even worse. Face facts guys, we have been poor for years, yet have won 3 titles in a row. Reality check.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Sep 2011 22:05:39
Disappointing result but alot of positives to take out that game, thought we defended pretty well for the most part and Samaras was tremendous as was Ki. Probably our hardest game on paper in the group so all in all not too downbeat about the result and even more confident about Sunday.

Mark

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Im a gers fan and expected a 3-0 for madrid. thought samaras had a crackin game, hooper had nuthin to work with.

Agree0 Disagree0

Samaras tremendous? i think you have lost the plot, he was better than his usual p**h though. when is neil lennon going to realise that garry hooper can not play up front on his own and does anyone else think that hooper is overweight as well as commons? and why have we signed wanyama if we arent going to play him?

Agree0 Disagree0

I said before we started anything less than 3-0 loss would be positive. I agree with the above however I cannot help but be critical of NL team selection. Juggling the back 4 is always dangerous. Accepted we had no left back but there were options without bringing that useless bacon seller Loovins into the team. He has hardly kicked a competitive ball this season and his pathetic mis-timed jump led to the goal says it all. He is also spoiled and lightweight. A disaster waiting to happen and it did after 3 mins!! Where was McCourt? Why does he persist with Commons?. Hooper was off the pace from the start and why when he came on was Bangura on the left? Samaras does what he always does plays well in big games, we all know he is an enigma but well done to the big guy. For all that AM were forced to play dirty and clever and we played some lovely football but as ever alas no product. I cannot help but think if Bangura had got the Hooper chance early doors he would have taken it.Having said that and as an eternal optimist there are lots of positives and apart from some tactical naivety and in my opinion poor team selection I was happy and proud of the boys. Mulgrew gets better with every game and I am rapidly becoming a big fan. FF pulled off two world class saves and with a full squad available I think we may just have got a result last night. I am still a NL fan HH. Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree wit hthe origional poster Samaras was a standout as for the joker knocking Samaras its clowns like you who wont get behind the team. i know he can be frustrating but last night he was our best player by a country mile,and perhaps the Fraser Foster knockers will now see that maybe wee Lenny is no a bad judge after all. Summing up we competed well for long stages,more of the same will see us pick up some points

Agree0 Disagree0

Lenny is a great judge of a player his record speaks for itself. He has had a couple of notable failures but his record is outstanding. Mulgrew for me is a huge bonus and it says a lot for the laddie that he came back and is proving not only that he can hack it but that he is a very talented boy. A few performances like the one in Milan and suddenly he will be worth 5 million. I only hope O'Dea gets the same chance as I think he can also prove himself at Celtic Park. HH

hey i dont think you sold we malloney i think commons ate him look at the size of that guy

I think your right mate unless he had three or four sweaters on under his shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree although i think there is a few others at celtic looking overweight and off the boil/uninterested.

dear oh dear this is what happens when scottish teams try to play a little bit of football against quality

Believable3 Unbelievable1

You said it your self. quality.

they are a top european club, not many better - even though there in the EL - and our performance has been assured except for two slips and celtics pool away run shouldnt last much longer imo

kev88

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we gave a good performance. Athletico are a team that would give anybody in Europe a game and I think we done Scotland proud.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality you call that quality no chance atletico Madrid were quality Celtic weren't and commons was a disgrace when he came on bangura a thought larrson recommended bangura to Celtic a player who was very good player for yous has recommended bangura well am quite happy with that because he doesn't look the buy yous all thought he was samaras dreadful Hooper didn't look great today ki am not gonna lie he did look not bad today kayal was OK

15 Sep 2011 19:46:38
big sameras gets the nod tonite hopefully he puts in a good shift .....

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Thought he was our best player tonight against top opposition. Well done to the guy. I've always thought he's played his best football for us on the flanks.

ref

We're in by default mate but its 5mil in the bank. Far as im concerned thats buyin us a striker or creative midfielder in Jan to help us win the league.

Drew

you must be on drugs drew if you think Celtic will pay anywhere near 5 million for any player those days have gone i think the last time you paid anywhere near that was way back in 2007 for scot brown im afraid you will be digging around the bargin basement looking for Bosmans like Rangers

Tony {Ed007's Note - £2.2 million on Bangura Tony?}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

You hardly get £5m for winning the thing - take it you're one of the financial advisors that like commenting on Rangers - you know feck all about it but just comment anyway. Comical really. {Ed007's Note - Enlighten us then and tell us how much it is worth? Include TV rights, sponsorships etc. Remember Sion are looking for £3.5-4 million compensation for lose of revenue from UEFA. Come on Einstein, give us all a laugh.}

Agree0 Disagree0

1st qualifying round: 90,000
2nd qualifying round: 90,000
3rd qualifying round: 90,000
Playoffs: 90,000
Group stage: 1,000,000
Group match victory: 120,000
Group match draw: 60,000
1st knock out round: 180,000
2nd knock out round: 270,000
Quarter-finals: 360,000
Semi-finals: 630,000
Losing Finalist: 2,000,000
Winning the Final: 3,000,000

You have ticket sales - but operating costs have to come out of that,
Obviously you have tv money too - find it hard to see where £5m comes from. {Ed007's Note - I didn't say £5 million, add on TV money, match day income, sponsorship bonuses for being in Europe, it all mounts up.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh - and sion thought they could play inelligable players so i wouldnt worry too much about what they think . . . {Ed007's Note - Don't be so blatantly ignorant. To come to a figure it needs to be justified with figures, did you not read about Martin Bain?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course it all adds up, my simple point is not to the tune of £5m. And really is there any need for the insults? Or just a natural defence mechanism because someone doesn't agree with ye? {Ed007's Note - Well is there any need to come out of nowhere and insult a fellow poster's knowledge 'You know feck all about it' without even having the common decency to leave a name? It's a defence mechanism against anonymous people with double standards. You insulted one of my regular posters and then moan about being insulted back. Deal with it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well considering we had a bid of £4.5 million accepted for diawara it means we can afford it, go away back to the tax dodging page

Agree0 Disagree0

It wont be far off the £5million especially after 3 large home gates. I think lenny will get a few quid in january. Not 5 million for one player but maybe 2 or 3 million. I'd rather be in our position financially than most teams in Scotland.

Commons bulked up during the summer to withstand some of the tackling up here. Think he needs to get to a more natural shape though cause he cant get on with his game the way he is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just been reading the dribble this guys been coming out with lol cracks me up, due to rangers not being in Europe Celtic receive all monies from any sponsorships ie tennents, Audi and so on, the tickets are being sold at a price of £69 for three matches, at parkhead it will be near sell out if you break that down that works out at roughly £23.33 a ticket, but some ppl will buy individual tickets at a higher cost round the £35 mark, so being the nice guy I am I will use the lowest figure which is 69 x 55000 which equals 3,795,000, nearly £4 million itself, then u got the sponsor money, the revenue from selling food and programmes also merchandise, plus winning games or drawing, the money getting through to group stages in the first place.

Yes there is going to be a cost to Celtic fc but due to rangers not being in europe we getting more money and it will easily be around the £5 million mark, so away back to your page n worry about your debt that whyte is bouncing between companies, the two tax cases you got and the fact your team are s**t, see for beach ball Sunday.

Cumby Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think some of our visitors are in the wrong job, as they seem to be good with figures why dont they apply their competencies dealing with their own money problems at home. The real bottom line nobody knows until the final credits and debit figures are available but we do know whatever it is will be invested in the team and with any luck a new centre back may be bought to generate some competition for places in that area.

I think it is time all you celtic daft supporters out there should start to look at your own team before critising other team. getting back into the europe league is going to be embarssing for the celtic mob. remember this message {Ed007's Note - Remember it? does anyone know how early I'll have to show up at Failte in Glasgow on Sunday to make sure I get in, normally go elsewhere but heard in there is good for a game but you need to show up early.

Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

No later than 11.00 mate sounds daft but they usually let in 160. If the que is round the corner then try else where. Lenny

Agree0 Disagree0

You will need to be there about an hour early. It gets to busy otherwise and regulars come first.

Cheers bhoys. Will head down for about 11 then.

Tonights team (4-1-4-1).
Wanyama to protect the back 4. Ledley to play full back and protect Forrest

Foster

Mathews (rb)
Ledley (lb)
Wilson
Mulgrew

Wanyama

Commons
KI
Kayal
Forrest

Hooper

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Good shout. Think I'd rathher push Ledley into the midfield and play Mark Wilson at left back. Would be intresting to see how this team goes but. Like the idea of Wanyama playing in that role.

Hammy1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama should not start. He is far to inexperienced and will cost us IMO.

I do think we need 5 in the middle though, personally I would go with...

Foster

Mathews (RB)
Ledley (LB)
K. Wilson
Mulgrew

M. Wilson (C)

KI
Kayal
Forrest
Commons / McCourt

Hooper or Bang Bang - Did he travel and is he fit?

I also think that Lennon should never of let Juarez go on loan as this game is ideal for him. Thoughts ED?

John Linnie {Ed007's Note - Bangura has travelled but missed training last night with a groin problem. I'm not sure if he will be fit. It was best for all concerned that Juarez left.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd go for this line up:-

Forster.

M.Wilson,K.Wilson,Mulgrew,Matthews.

Wanyama.

Forest,Kayal,Ki,Commons.

Hooper.

Heres hoping we can get a result tonight,no matter what team is selected.
Even a draw is a fantastic result in this match.IMHO.

fatbhoy67.HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi I'd make a wee change

Forster

Matthews, K.Wilson, Mulgrew, M.Wilson

Wanyama

Forrest, Kayal, Ki, Ledley (strongest 4 imo)

Hooper

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic cannot play with one forward, this has been proven many, many times.

My 11 for tonite would be -

GK Forster

RCB Loovens
CB K Wilson
LCB Mulgrew

RWB Matthews
LWB M Wilson

RCM KI
CM Kayal
LCM Ledley

AT Bangura (if fit, if not Samaras or Commons)
AT Hooper

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the look of the team above, 3-5-2 / 5-3-2, I think this would work
