Hi ed n fellow tims, there's a comment below about loovens,Wilson and big dan all leaving Celtic today? I'm aware of Dan going (wish him all the best) but I ain't seen nada bout the other two actually leaving? Can anyone confirm this for me?
Cb {Ed007's Note - Those three and Dom Cervi left the club today.}

Utter p*sh...

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, where oh where is this info about the other players?

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we getting our "Wilsons" confused ? Mark is away but Kelvin is still with us , right ? By the way what about a punt for Danny ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm actually sad to see Loovens go. Hasnt put a foot wrong this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loovens has not been released. Dan has signed for AIK. M Wilson has left

ED007, some of my bear pals have told me that the QC hired by RFC(IA) has apparently been boasting that he has found some rules the original panel never followed, all the bears sites are going big on this that they will win the appeal. Not withstanding this, I have a horrible feeling SFA will back down anyway and lift the transfer embargo.
What are your thoughts ED007?
One last thing, my mates actually boasting about RFFF paying for this
QC, I bet ordinary RFC(IA) fans are glad their hard earned money is being
so well spent, oh and by the way, who is keeping a record of RFFF monies and will accounts be published.. Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I have no idea if Rangers lawyers have found something, I would think the boards/panels know the rules and why hasn't it come out since the original verdict? The panel have lawyers working for them too. As for the RFFF, wasn't that initially started to make sure any tickets for games would bought and gave away to ensure Ibrox was a sell out for every game? Unless the free tickets they were giving away came with a free seat disguise kit, it didn't seem to work out too well for them.}

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Honestly mate that story has got Rangers written all over it. So they have hired a hot shot lawyer to fight theyre corner ok I'll have that bit. And now said lawyer is shouting his mouth off about an upcoming case (aye like all good lawyers do don't they) he's saying he's found a hole somewhere that he's sure can win the appeal with. I'm sure they must have heard him tell them that at the louden last night eh. Then the typical Rangers bravado and shouting they're odds before they have heard the verdict only to be left embarrassed AGAIN. Honestly these people learn like pidgeons. They have a complete inability to hold they're water. Don't believe a word they say mate. The appeal WILL Be upheld

Agree0 Disagree0

Think there argument is that it does specifically list a transfer embargo as a punishment so IMO the panel should just go with one that is removal of membership I.e chuck the cheating, tax dodging bill avoiding, racist , sectarian thugs out of football

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007, Pot, kettle and black spring to mind! the first title in 4 years and there were spaces all over Parkhead (as there have been all year) {Ed007's Note - Pot, kettle and black springs to mind, what were you trying to think of for that to pop into your head? So what was the RFFF set up for exactly? Along with the red/black scarves sales the money was to buy unsold tickets and donate them to good causes to ensure sell out crowds, so did they buy tickets and couldn't give them away?}

Simple maths, sell Stokes, Samaras, Bangura, Murphy. Even if we only get 1 mil for the 4 we will save about 60K p/w save £3 mil in wages. Sign Jordan Rhodes for £5 mil up front and extras too about 8 mil, they cannot knock that back and it is value as this kid is 6' plus, built and been scoring left right and center (header).

Believable6 Unbelievable15

Keep Sami, been consistantly our best player since xmas.

Joeshmo1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't understand why anyone would want to sell Samaras. He will be critical to our play away from home in Europe playing wide left. Agree that I would like Rhodes but not at that price and feel you would get better value on the continent. Think we missed a trick by not signing Jellyfish when he scored 3 against us for Rapid because he is exactly the type of player we need but there will be another like him out there. I think the Rudnevs guy might have been the one but I trust Lenny to find the right man.............martyc1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be daft mate- this is a business we're running, we're no longer a charity!
Stokes is already a 2million player to any prem club, possibly a Reading or another newcomer. Big sam - 1m to la liga and the rest we could bring in some dosh for. The lad henriksson looks good and might be the kind of ball paying forward that Hopper needs to play alongside.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think accept the money for sammy if we get it. yes i agree been consistently our best player since christmas but what about bwfore christmas? what if that happens for all next year? personally i wouldnt mind either way. stokes 2 mil? easyil 3/4 and bangura wont be sold. whoever the first post was from needs there head looked at asking 1 mill for 4 players. also saying rhodes fee rising to 8 mil? think wud take that 8 mil and spend it bit wiser. maybe rise to 6 mill tops cause top goalscorer. what happened the boy salihi ed? any chance of us going for him? {Ed007's Note - He only moved to the MLS in February. I think he is out the picture.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No way in hell is Sammy leaving for £1 million. Lennon MIGHT consider 5 million.
He will probably be our most important player in Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

Football a squad game! geeez pal probaly let Murphy go out of those four tho

Agree0 Disagree0

So let me get this right you want to sell our second top goal scorer. a guy who hasn't really had a chance and I can't believe I am saying this but sammy who has been vastly improved this season and bring in one striker and all this for a million....... are you on drugs

hail hail

Marco1888

Agree0 Disagree0

You need to do the math, you want to sell 5 of our 7 strikers and bring in one to leave us with 3? hooper, rass and rhodes. hmmmm, i think someone needs to go back to school.

Agree0 Disagree0

I knid of get where you are coming from as Hooper is worth more than when we bought him, what other of the strikers mentioned is worth more now, Samaras works hard but cannot score in a barrel of f*nnies. Rhodes is ideal and would re-sale for a large sum. Plus agree trim the wages we will walk the league with a trimmed squad and if we can make players more valuable we can grow the club like Porto, they make half their 70mil Euro budget by moving on players.

Hi Ed,

Do you have any information on the lad Mills Celtic are interested in? He was apparently outstanding for Reading and joined Leicester for £5 million but has been a complete flop according to Leicester fans. I have heard that he is a bit of a drinker but I dont know if that is true. Have you heard anything about him?

Mac {Ed007's Note - From what I have seen of him he is no better than I remember Wilson in the Championship. As for his drinking habits, I have no idea. If you have visited Leicester you could understand it though.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

I've got a mate who went to school with him said he doesnt think his drinkin isnt as bad as people made out. wilson doesnt look capable. the main problem is they paid £5 million last year and if they would do a swap they would want money aswell. matt mills was a captain at 21 so he must be able to do something right

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed. It may just be some Leicester fans refusing to acknowledge that the bust up with Pearson is the reason that their £5 million player is not playing.

I hope he signs. He reminds me of a Martin O'Neill signing. Lots of potential but things not working out at his current club.

Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a bit of a sleeping giant is Mills. Could be a great* signing. *N.B. 'great' not used lightly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like a interesting buy, especially if we can get him on the cheap

Players I'd like Celtic to sign for next season :
Fraser Forster - £2m or Craig Gordon .
Matt Mills (Leicester) £2m or Alex Milosevic (AIK) £2m
McDonald Mariga (Inter) loan
Marcus Henriksen (Rosenburg) £3m
Jordan Rhodes £4m (plus O'Dea and McGinn)
Sell Ki for £5m leaves a net spend of £7m less other sales .
Drewzybhoy .

Believable5 Unbelievable13

Ki 5 mill ffs get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no danger lennon will be allowed to go anywhere north of 3mill in the red .......

Agree0 Disagree0

We could easily get £5m for Ki , there are several EPL clubs interested , Roma are keen , at 21 years old with his range of passing and shooting he would be ideally suited to the premiership , a vey skilful mid-field player , just not physical enough for our game though , I'm sure with a host of other players for sale or out of contract we could easily bring in another £2m or £3m plus reduce our wage bill enough to get 3 or 4 quality players in to improve the team to retain our title and have a decent go at Europe next season . Drewzybhoy .

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunno if your 1. a person 2. Joking that 5m is too much or 3. Joking its not enough. Celtic will get 5 million for Ki any day of the week. if your arguing they wont you obviously dont realise his value. He is the bast passer of the ball in the SPL, He has 45 caps for South Korea at 23 and just incase you arent aware they are a good team. Teams in Russia, England, Italy and Germany have all registered an interest in Ki in the last 12 months alone. A great professional and ready made to play in any of the top leagues. You will see his value when we play Champions League football next season and he is the poster boy of South Korean sport a country of 50 million people....like naka he is of great commertial value. If you were arguing he should be worth more you already knew this and good day to you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know McDonald Mariga is Wanyamas big bro?

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think ki is worth 5mil personally but I do believe we will get close to that as he was Asian player of the year and clubs all over Europe are trying to break into that market. He has lots of ability and would suit a slower more technical style.
DB77

Agree0 Disagree0

Ki for 5, the Bhoy will be worth 20 in the future

Agree0 Disagree0

If we could still get £5m for Ki grab it with both hands and run as the guy is p*sh.

I seriously doubt some of the other players mentioned would come to play in the SPL however...

Iain

Agree0 Disagree0

Get at least £10m for Ki

Agree0 Disagree0

Ki defo worth more than 5million! Defo! He's a worldwide star!

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think Ki is a 5m player , hope we get it though, id bite anyones hand off for that.

Joeshmo1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would have thought we would have got more than £7m for McGeady?I think if Ki was to be sold then Peter Lawwell will manage to get top dollar for him,my guess £7-8m.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of the players i mentioned , i think Victor's brother McDonald Mariga would be the hardest to convince , don't think we will be able to buy him outright , but a loan deal would maybe suit , Victor and champions league football could maybe help convince him . Drewzybhoy .

Agree0 Disagree0

Must agree with the poster who said ki is the best passer of a ball in the spl, also has a great shot on him, think we will see the best of him in europe when he would get time on the ball rather than some clogger trying to boot him off the park in the spl. johnbhoy79

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rhodes is worth 5 million then Ki is worth more.

The guy has it all. I would not sell him though as in 3 or 4 years time he will go for 10-15 million

LinDogg 83

Agree0 Disagree0

You would probably get 4m for Ki. he has been sitting on the bench most of the year. even broony is getting a game before him.

Well with the news that some of our players have left today m wilson big dan and loovens and with fojut deal being cancelled.It looks like we may sign 2 cbs i have heard us being linked with mills but imo i dont think it will happen so who do you think/want us to sign.I personally would like to see us go for hanley at blackburn (although i think there is epl teams interested in him) he is still fairly young but is a big strong lad who would do well up in scotland. Also what striker would you like to see brought in i know the type we need but tbh there isnt many big strong target men available hopefully neil has something up his sleeve.

p.s heard that we are looking at resigning ross wallace( i dont belive it myself) has any one else heard anything ?

davie c

me for one i travel from cambridgeshire as much as i can with my boy to watch my beloved celtic i have spent a lot of money on watching the bhoys but nowhere near as much as some of my mates from corby, we have put up with the curruption of the sfa spl reff scandles but i hate to say it but i mean it if rangers get away with this i for one will consontrate on celtic in europe ,the last thing i want to do is hurt my celtic in anyway but everyone has a limit and mine is if these currupt parasites dont get punished then i will leave the spl and the cups for a few years on princable ,your english tim jodrok

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Well said Sir, I totally agree these bar stewards must not be allowed to get away with their bully boy, corrupt behaviour! The SFA/SPL along with ALL the other SPL clubs need to grow a pair & ensure that THE SHAME get what they deserve, Lets also home the HMRC & the majority of the creditors stand strong & reject any cva as these scum have stolen enough from the people of this country.

Agree0 Disagree0

So whats a few years m8 1, 2 , 10 , i really dont get this attitude, we believe what we believe , if the rest dont agree what do we do , spit the dummy out and hurt our club........ it dont make no sense , we are celtic and let them all bring it....... faithful through and through

Agree0 Disagree0

HMRC will not accept it so they're goosed, HMRC do not have a track record of accepting paltry amounts on monies due to the pulic purse

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the only way forward' we as fan base need to stick together this lad jodrok has hit it straight on the button if your not happy show it with your feet' i jump on a short bus trip too paradise how must it be for these bhoys from down south iv had the pleasure of meeting a few of them and they are pure dyehards that spend most of ther wages too watch the celtic hopefully it doesnt come to it jodrok but i can 100 percent see where ya comming from hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally understand the thoughts behind this but unfortunately, the only people who will suffer is Celtic. SFA,SPL are all to encapsulated in their own little cocoons to notice the damage they (and continue to) do to Scottish football in general. The rest of the teams in Scotland know that Celtic and Rangers are treated differently. Celtic also know that this also happens between OF with Rangers seemingly looked upon more favourably. To hurt the SFA and SPL then the rest of the clubs should resign and then set their own leagues up and apply to EUFA/FIFA for license. Short term pain but long term credibility and success.

Agree0 Disagree0

I personnaly will not be renewing my season ticket if they get off with this missed 2 domestic games all season and if they get a newco in spl or transfer ban lifted and a fine i wont be giving scottish football no more of ma money

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi jodrok is this jamesy iv talked too you a few times on the flight up from luton with his young bhoy if so this is paul from well garden city iv lost ya number and could do with a contact for the old firm games if they go ahead next year i know ya pi--off with whats going on with them but if any one that wont stay away its you ' i take it you will be at the norwich game so get in contact through are club and we will meet up on tues at norwich hope ta hear from ya soon paul the patch hailhail {Ed007's Note - If you guys know each other and want to post in contact details I'll forward them no probs. Nobody will know your details apart from me, not even other Eds.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a joke i have too agree but celtic need too pursue and use ther connections in europe to bring this too light celtic fc has an obligation too its fans and beyond to make sure justice is served .as the sfa spl have pursued this in every manner when it comes to punishment for are lenny . but have no doubt the boys up at hampden will pull every string ther is too lean in ther favour they have a choice right or wrong and if they go down the wrong road it could be the start of the end for scottish football ther has to be a proper punishment for the crime .or why have govening body in place its as simple as that

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2012 18:40:37
Pity we missed out on the Poznan striker as he looked good, but it shows we are still looking to bring in bright young talent and NL seems to want to get guys in early. Obviously we need to hit the ground running for the CL qualifiers and not get caught cold like past 2 seasons and if we wait until the Euro 2012 tourny then players prices inflate like a dose of the 'Duke of Argyles'.
There will be a good few on the way like Wilson, Dan, Paddy Glenda and Cha who had their moments good and bad and all the best to them.
Juarez, Rasmussen and others never got a chance for one reason or another and there are a couple more like Murphy, O'Dea and McGinn who were out of favour long term. So I look forward to a trimmed down - but better quality squad to go for even more silverware next season. Hail Hail Tommy Burns.

Just looking through the free transfer market for this summer and a few names caught my eye.. The boy Pogrebnyak is available from Fulham (wages probably an issue but he looked topnotch). I've always rated Jonathan Woodgate who's also freee, problem with his fitness however. Andy Johnson is free and is still producing great performances at Fulham (good experience for CL and still something to prove at that level). Personally I would go for Cuellar and Bosingwa....both free and although on high wages (esp. Bosingwa), these guys have the experience and class to shore up our defence. (better to pay 3 million in wages and get quality at the back than taking a risk on a younger player and hoping they develop.....we have enough youth already. Just my thoughts.......

Logan33

Believable2 Unbelievable9

You make a valid point with all those players , wages are the main issue and we need to keep a tight control on them unlike our tax dodging, bill avoiding neighbours from Govan

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you sure Pogrebnyak is a freebie?If so we should definately go for him,really impressed by him last few months.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogrebnyak was only signed in january for 5m so a doubt he is a free

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow! Are u actually serious! Each one of the players you talk about you even have a sentence after it stating but he's....! There's not one name on there I'd be happy to see at Celtic!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2012 18:10:07
May just be paper talk but i seen the name Matt Mills being thrown around. Anyone know much about him, is he a player we should be looking at?

Believable6 Unbelievable4

He built a really good reputation playing for my home town club Doncaster and helped them gain promotion to the Championship

He left to go to Reading where he got even better and just missed out on promotion to the EPL in the play-off final against Swansea.

Joined Leicester for £5m and had a bust up with their manager and hasn't really featured much since.

I think he could be a great signing for us and think Lenny could get the best out of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted on this earlier from an article @ 15 May 2012 12:38:24.
It stated that we are looking to do a swap deal with Kelvin Wilson so it would be a decent piece of business as KW hasn't settled or looked the part.
HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Spoke to Reading fan about him. He's too good for the Championship, problem is, he knows it. Sure Lenny could sort him out though. Be a great signing.

Yep kelvin ain't the answer for us that's for sure IMO!

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2012 18:08:09
Heard we are in for Matt Mills. Personally i think he would be a great signing. What you think Ed? {Ed007's Note - I'm not so sure about him, Kelvin Wilson was highly rated in England and hasn't done too well. If it isn't a personal thing (not settling etc) I would rather give Wilson another chance than sign Mills.}

I know I'm gonna open myself to a lot of scrutiny here but Kevin Doyle would be an absolute superb signing for Celtic; A big strong Cf to threaten in the air and hold up the ball and proven himself against the best in Europe.

Participation in the CL would surely be an attractive prospect for a player of his quality and age.

Regarding money and competition, I can't see him go for more than 3/4mill with wages around maybe 25-30k. I would imagine there would be some competition from the PL but I think CL football could swing it for us.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Cant believe Doyle gets his place in the ROI team ahead of Stokes .....TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

I love the idea... I just think a Premiership club will outbid us. I would definitely like to see him sign. He has had one bad season where he has been in and out with injury.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes is average ,cant even hold down a game with the hoops.doyle your having a laugh.we have to be more clever with our money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes is a good player but come on now doyle is far better all round player holds it up runs the channels stokes scores a few tap in and sometimes he misses alot of them he has to get 3/4 chances to score 1 goal! Doyle to much money we have to realize we cant compete with the premiership and some championship clubs we are going to get a cheap foreign player and hope he a gem but that just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Loovens wife has put a picture on twitter of a removal van with the caption cioa cioa Glasgow. Looks like he is the first to go! Pedro {Ed007's Note - Mark Wilson, Majstorovic, Loovens and Cervi have all left today. There will be more to follow.}

Believable6 Unbelievable3

I would keep Mark Wilson, Injury forced him to miss this season but last season he was one of our best performers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mark listen mate it time for you to go good luck though,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Mark wilson has been a good servant to this club and is it just me thinking we are missing a trick by letting a player with CL experince walk out the door

Agree0 Disagree0

Permanently injured, he averaged 1 in 3 games for 1 in 1 wages, a luxury, hinkel would have been better kept and wilson let go, he never missed a game til an unlucky injury.

in and outs in the summer
in
paul dixon (free)
chris humphrey
johnny russell
a experienced center back
back up right back
a pacey winger

out
paddy mccourt
anthony stokes
ki
cha
mark wilson
kelvin wilson
and i expect a few more

Believable2 Unbelievable10

We wont really good players not s**ty 1s like russell and dixon there good for united but not for celtic remember we are trying to get into the champions league

Agree0 Disagree0

You have got Chris Humphries on that list AND a pacey winger.....have you seen him running. Hes grease lighning.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have lustig and matthews, why do we need another right back

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on give those players a wee bit of respect. Russel is a right decent player with good prospects and Dixon is no slouch. Of course we want top players but I would suggest a so called sh**ty player would be a Carl Muggleton or Wayne Biggins. I remember those days all too clearly when guys of that standard played for the hoops and luckily for all of us those days are gone... hopefully forever.Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

Back up for right back we have lustig for back up to matthews,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

And really Sell stokes? Not a hope in hell, would rather sell hooper, in my eyes stokes offers so much more than hooper! Johnny Russell? Is this Sally's wish list?

Agree0 Disagree0

A back up right back, weve already one of them: lustig

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely that's a joke? Sell Hooper rather than Stokes?!!

Stokes is a squad player, and if a few accounts are to be believed a bit of a disruptive element! If we can get cash for Stokes and get a replacement (Russell would be a good addition IMO) then so be it.

Livingston threaten legal action against Scottish FA over Rangers situation
----

Livingston were relegated two divisions by the SFL, a decision which was upheld by the Scottish FA. Livingston have written to the Scottish Football Association warning they may take legal action if the governing body fails to act upon Rangers' financial woes appropriately.

STV understands the First Division club have outlined they would pursue up to £1.2m in lost revenue for their relegation to the Third Division in 2009 if the SPL side are not dealt with in a similar manner.

The decision to demote Livingston, who were in administration but in the hands of prospective buyers, was made by the Scottish Football League prior to the start of the 2009/10 season.

A failed appeal to the SFL was followed up by a submission to the Scottish FA, who ruled the punishment was fair and reasonable.

The governing body’s judicial protocol was given a complete overhaul last year and insolvent clubs, as well as any appeals processes, are now handled in a different manner.

Nonetheless, Livingston believe a precedent was set in the judgement and have now stated they are monitoring how the Scottish FA are handling the Rangers situation, as uncertainty over the future of the club continues.

If prospective buyer Charles Green is unable to strike a deal with creditors to take the club forward via a CVA, it is possible the businessman will pursue a ‘newco’ route to ensure the club continues as part of a new company.

The move, which would be unprecedented in Scottish football, would require Scottish FA approval to go through if the new company wished to inherit Rangers’ membership of the body and could be subject to further sanctions.

Rangers have already been punished by both the Scottish Premier League and Scottish FA for being in administration, with the latter recently administering a 12-month registration embargo and fines reaching £160,000.

Rangers’ appeal against the Scottish FA’s sanctions, which were described as to have “struck a balance which was relevant to the mischief and proportionate to the breach†will be held on Wednesday.

The independent panel set up to consider the initial case against the club stated in their deliberations that "only match fixing in its various forms might be a more serious breach†than Rangers’ failure to pay tax contributions for employees, amongst other discrepancies.

Termination of Rangers’ membership to play football in Scotland was also considered at the time, something which was ruled to be “too severe†a punishment.

Both the Scottish FA and Livingston declined to comment on the letter.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Cant see livingston getting anywhere, the fact the decision was made by the SFL, not the SPL, both completly different bodies with different rules. T he sfa merely upheld a decision made by a different body.

Where Dundee relegated for going into administration?

Mulgrew ledley mathews can all cover LB

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont need him not good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring him in to cover or replace? Izzy could have his eyes set on a move south of the border?

Agree0 Disagree0

The rumour did state it was to cover izzy not to replace. 2+2 do not make 5.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair Dixon is not a bad player. Great left foot and crossing is excellent. Better going forward but with a 3 man CB defence that may suit.
he may excel at Celtic, we've got proven record of improving players.
I'm from Dundee and lot of talk of him heading down south but if we picked up for a few grand a week I wouldnt be disappointed
Stevo

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but just because the rumour says its to cover, doesnt mean it cant be a replacement? just as 2+2 doesnt equal 5, 2+2 doesnt always equal 4 in football either

i wrote an e-mail a few months back, when Salmond was sticking his political oar into the fiasco surrounding that mob, and pleading that HMRC should show leniancy.....here is (eventually) my reply....

April 2012

Dear Correspondent

Thank you for your correspondence to Scottish Ministers about statements made on developments at Rangers Football Club. I have been asked to reply.

The Scottish Government fully recognise that it is vital that both individuals and organisations pay their taxes in a timely manner as taxation is essential to the economic and social development of Scotland.

I would like to reassure you that any comments made by members of this Government have always stressed the fact that we expect Rangers FC, or any other football club or business for that matter, to meet its obligations to the taxpayer. We have also recognised the importance of an agreement being reached between the club and HM Revenue & Customs which ensures that tax liabilities and debts are met.

Duff and Phelps are the appointed administrators and we want to see an outcome in the best interests of the staff at Rangers, their supporters and the game of football in Scotland as a whole.

We have offered the administrators the support of our national programme for responding to redundancy situations, Partnership Action For Continuing Employment (PACE) to assist any employees who may be facing redundancy and PACE representatives are maintaining close contact with the administrators.

PACE support is always available and is always offered to anyone and everyone facing redundancy, PACE have offered this type of assistance to Scottish football clubs in the past and stand ready to assist any football clubs and other companies in the future.

You will appreciate that the administrators are taking forward the process of assessing the business and securing an outcome in the best interests of all the creditors.

It is therefore too early to comment on potential outcomes however I want to be clear that no public money would be offered to bail out any football club and this remains the case with Rangers.

Yours sincerely

I meant to add that, as a typical politicians answer, they never answered my many questions about why it was suddenly ok for politics to be involved in football, and that it was breaking FIFA & UEFA rules in doing so, why was member of parliament requesting leniancy to an institution devoid of morals and decency, would the same first minister publicly support me if i suddenly decided that paying my tax was an unnecessary burden?
these, and many more questions remain unanswered...

Hi ed, was just wondering if you thought it would be worth while in Lennon looking into joey bartons future? Don't think to many English teams would be interested and miby he will be looking to get away from the epl for a while?? What do u think? {Ed007's Note - No. He is a disgrace. Half the things that he has done over the years aren't in the public domain. He has forced countless young players out of clubs by his bullying. The cigar incident with Jamie Tandy is only the tip of the iceberg. I personally hope he never kicks a ball again.}

Believable5 Unbelievable14

I would take joey barton in a tic, doesnt anyone think this latest thing has been blown outta preportion? after all tevez was at it aswell(punch on back)pure handbag stuff. Id take him before that mob fill their midfield with gattuso and barton not that iam afraid of the former think hes past it, but we all know the goalposts will be moved again for that mob so they can sign players and if they are moved then we should no matter who differs boycott every AWAY ground in spl,!.kbarry

No way Barton never seems to learn his lesson, I wouldnt want a disruptive player like that at our club, especially within such a young side that we have - Quacksandpiper

I agree he's not the type of player we want think NL has drilled good team spirit and discipline into the team and that is more important than an individual player. I think Barton is a talented player who lets himself down as a man.

Joey Barton!! The man is a complete disgrace as a man and a footballer. CFC has certain standards, common decency being one of many. I for one would be ashamed and humiliated if this ignorant and immature fellow ever desecrated the Hoops by pulling one of our hallowed shirts over his extremely thick and abusive head. Get a grip bhoys this man is bad news and there are not enough adjectives in the English language to describe his behaviour! Sopot Celt

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy is a total scumbag. Any team worth its salt should never touch the guy. He should be sacked and left. No team should touch him.

Celtic signing Joey Barton would be the equivalent of When Rangers signed the sewer rat DIOUF. Barton will never get near a celtic jersey, the management, the club officials and the fans wouldn't have it. And THAT is the difference between US and THEM

Agree0 Disagree0

Tevez did punch him a bit but what did the other guy do when he kneed him in the back or the headbut he tried to give another player, he will not and should never be part of Celtic that been said i still cant believe he hasnt been a rankers player cause it seems like there type of player like douif.

With the ed on this one, disgrace is too polite a word for Barton, Stein once said that the celtic shirt doesn't shrink to fit inferior players, I would add inferior human beings to that. johnbhoy79

Wouldn't want him anywhere near our team! Man is as low as Diouf if not worse! I wouldn't want him in the squad!

Hi ed, did you google the boy tandy or did you just remember his name off the top of your head? Me personally like a player who goes against the run of the grain on occasions,ed we've agreed before about keane being both our fave player he done haaland( alf inge ) on retaliation so a bit double standard there the cigar incident happens at football clubs all over the world all the time, this guys not afraid to stand up to ilks like lineker,shearer(media luvvies)and the likes. I believe that its down to underachievers around him,if he was at big club winning thing it would soon calm him, he doesn't need the dosh hes a multimillionaire,and if he was playing for us he would realise his potential, iam a celt same as every other replyer and aloud my opinion as i pay home and away,ps i would really love to know if there were any replys agreeing with me but we'll never know as ed doesnt like joey and ed has final say, as i posted my tommy burns thought but werent aloud through,ed? ,.,.kbarry {Ed007's Note - Maybe before you jump the gun you should learn some patience. Your Tommy Burns post is right next to this one and will be posted. No I didn't need to Google anyone's name, when you have had to deal with talking about drunken, bullying scumbags like Barton so often you do remember things. And F.Y.I. all replies about Barton were posted, it seems you are in the minority of wanting him anywhere near CFC. Go and ask fans from any team what they think of him, do you honestly think Newcastle would have freed him last year if there wasn't sever problems behind the scene? He was at least worth £5 - 7 million in the market, they 'released' him, which is a nice way of saying he had been reprimanded and sacked.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We cant have barton at celtic. he's worse than diouf.

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand where most fans are coming from but without falling into the mass hysteria circles of others I tend to side with KBarry.
There are many players who are not role models but still perform to a high level.
I do think Barton could do a great job for Celtic but equally I could imagine the flash points.
In some ways, fans love to see it.
Before I get fellow fans shooting me down what about keane, Hartson. Favourites of mine but guilty of offences if carried out on the street would be up in front of courts.the main point of this is there are a lot of double standard comments getting thrown about, probably because Barton siging for Celtic is highyl unlikely. I'd wonder what we'd be hearing once he signed and played a few blinders {Ed007's Note - Keane and Hartson don't compare to anything that Barton has done, even people comparing him to Diouf are wide of the mark, Barton is worse than him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Also Ed i posted my tommy burns post on the rumour page not the banter(ive never looked at the banter page)so no wonder i couldnae see it mate cheers anyway,.,.kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

Barton has never ever ever spat at celtic supporters so how can a celtic man say hes worse than diouf, the worse thing wich i dont agree with by any means that bartons ever done was the cigar incident(an bytheway ed can you tell me the full story of the cigar incident and what tandy said about a member of joey's familay?)we only ever hear the bad points of barton, hartson i player i loved kicked a team mate on the head/face that could have had more damage than a ciggie burn surely,.,.kbarry {Ed007's Note - Have you ever heard the saying 'The apple never falls far from the tree'? That sums up Barton and his family perfectly. The guy that he punched over 20 times in the face surely hurt more than anything mentioned so far. Have a look at this mate, and you want 'this' in a CFC top?

On that note he probs gets idiots come to him when hes out and hes not a guy for backing down, so what tear him apart and boil his bones? Ed we'll have to differ on this one mate. Roy keane was the same off the park too till he had his first kid that settled him down or hed have been the exact same,.,.kbarry {Ed007's Note - Let's compare Keane's criminal records with Barton's? Mate, you are the only person, from players to fans from any club in public, or in private that I have met, that has a good word to say about him. I bet you follow him on Twatter don't you? Starting any argument with 'And what' isn't a very good start, if a Rangers fan posted that you would be all over it.}

Hi Ed your 110% wrong on me, i dont believe in any social(i call anti)sites,face,bebo,t**tter,etc i use my tinternet for watchin football believe it or not this is the only site honestly that i tune into(kinda addicted)so dont be going betting mate ("i bet") and also i aint arguing and didnt start with "and what" i started with"hi Ed had a look at what you etc then follwed with and what, what part of start dont you understand? Iam only havin a debate not argue as ive said before i listen to what you say and respect you and your views. If i were you id phone roy hodgson and argue with him hes went an left carrick out of euros cant rate him that much,.,.kbarry {Ed007's Note - I'm not arguing either mate, but you did say 'and what' which is pretty dismissive of the scale of Barton's crimes and stupidity. Would you accept that from a Rangers fan as an answer for their problems?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi ed i aint talking about rangers fans whats rangers fans gotta do with our debate? The end of the line barton is not a war criminal wich i believe some to think he is and hes never in the same disgusting league as spit the dog duiof,.,.kbarry {Ed001's Note - you are completely wrong. Diouf has never attacked a young boy in the street. Diouf has never put an academy player at risk of ending his career by stubbing a cigar out in his eye. For outright comedy gold head on over to the blues page. This latest war chest stuff is pi55 your pants funny. They can't be that naive... can they?

On the sunnier side of Glasgow however, it looks like Lennon is getting quick off the mark with signings, a new forward and CB and if big goalie don't sign then Craig G will arrive. Not looked forward to a summer window like this for a while! Scott

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Makes you wonder why the "war chest" isn't going towards the CVA instead of the meagre £8.5m !!?? If I were a creditor I would ask this question at the forthcoming creditors meetine wouldn't you? It's them up to there usual spin. And another thing, Sally isn't slow in asking for transparency and for people to be named. Why isn't he asking the same of the so called "investors" from all over the globe?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's called BUSINESS guys. If a cva isn't accepted (be it with £8.5 million or whatever) then the creditors face getting zilch through a newco. Eitherway the new owners are perfectly within their rights to spend what they like to improve their new venture............remember new owners of ailing companies all over the world do the same thing. When wee Fergus got Celtic he put in £9.2 million along with some others like the Weissfelds etc but Celtic's financial position was much worse than the money they put in at the start........

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but i thought if a cva was not agreed then it would be liquidation time and ibrox and murry park and anything else of value would be sold off and they would probably get more than 8.5 mill also there no chance in hell hmrc will agree to it

Agree0 Disagree0

Get real mate and take off your blue tinted glasses! Firstly, before anything happens the SFA need to know WHO the investors are to allow them to conduct a "fit and proper" person review. Sorry I should have said "fit and proper people". There are so many involved it will take them to the start of the season to find out who they are. Bet you any money Whyte is involved and that's why Green hasn't given any names yet. Please check google properly and you will find the Green connection to Whyte!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic paid their debts in full. No CVAs or liquidation.

Agree0 Disagree0

The SFA cant do a fit and proper person test on investors, only people who run the club ie directors. If they were to do fit and proper persons test on investors dermot desmond would probably fail it. Have you seen his past? Tax court cases, fraud charges. There is alot about Desmond's past that isnt in the public domain over here. {Ed007's Note - You do know that Dermot Desmond is a 'tax exile'? His main residences are in Barbados and Gibraltar. I think you need to read things a bit better.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmrc will not accept the cva so thats it finished, they rejected one from port vale who owe them £190k, it is this guy being seen to do his best when he knows full well the money he has is nowhere near enough to pay the creditors, i would find the offer of a penny in the pound insulting

Agree0 Disagree0

Did portvale not offer about 8p in the £1?

Agree0 Disagree0

Henry McLeish report confimred that around 1989 Celtic's debt was around £36 million against a turnover of around £6.5 million. That means that the 'old' Celtic were living outwith their means to the tune of almost 600 per cent (NB - Rangers debt are considerably less on a percentage -v- turnover basis). Celtic's 'old' board compounded this deficit in the next four years by failing to significantly reduce the debt to a degree that satisfied both creditors and the bank and also failed to comply with the Taylor Report MANDATE to have an all seater stadium built by August 1994. When Fergus McCann and the Weissfelds put in around £ 12 million between them that money was used to take control of the club and to satisfy creditors. (NB - the later 'share' issue was used to effectively construct the all seater stadium. If anyone checks the debt levels of Celtic prior to the take over they will see that Celtic didn't just owe the Bank as people LIKE to think - if that was merely the case the Bank would not have tried to foreclose Celtic - it threatened to do so because Celtic were unable to reduce their overdraft limit which was being exceeded.

Don't need to take my word for it - just do a bit of research and check Celtic's history on Wikipedia etc.

Please note that this is NOT an attempt to score points against Celtic - merely an attempt to highlight that any football club can live beyond it's means and may need someone new and with a good head for business to come in and clean things up.......... {Ed007's Note - All I will say to this is Wikipedia is the poorest source to quote in any argument. Never trust anything on it, it can be edited by anyone. You shouldn't even let your kids use it for research. Any posts on the site referring it are just deleted, but if I done that you would take the huff.}

Agree0 Disagree0

A point noted Ed - although I'd be surprised if Henry McLeish's Report merely used 'wkipedia'. It might also be worth checking the Annual Accounts for 1989 - 1994.

As I said all I'm seeking to highlight is that Fergus McCann, the Weissfelds, Keanes and, ultimately, the Celtic support themselves had to pay for the financial sins of the 'old regime' and that things weren't quite as straight forward as people would like to make out.

Despite our differences I would also wish to spare a thought for Tommy Burns' family and the Celtic fans on the fourth anniversary of his passing. A gentleman sorely missed I'm sure you'll agree.... {Ed007's Note - The thing is though that CFC paid all their debts off. I won't deny the financial mess that the club was in, but there was no pence in the pound deals talked about or 'stiffing' anyone over debt. CFC paid their way out of their mess, Rangers as yet haven't even offered to do that.}

Celtic have made a bid for Leicester City’s out-of-favour former captain Matt Mills.

The Scottish champions are offering defender Kelvin Wilson in a possible swap deal.

The Hoops are understood to have made City the offer of 26-year-old Wilson in exchange for Mills, who appears to have no future at City under manager Nigel Pearson.

Mills was Sven-Goran Eriksson’s big summer signing last year, arriving from Reading in a deal that was potentially worth close to £5 million.

However, after the sacking of Eriksson, Mills failed to impress new boss Pearson.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has denied, in the Scottish media, that there has been contact with City about Wilson.

But the Mercury understands he is keen to land Mills and is prepared to offer Wilson in exchange.

Wilson has had a difficult first season for Celtic since arriving on a free transfer and has made just 21 appearances, mainly due to a torn Achilles heel injury, which kept him out of action for more than three months last year.

Was it not the case that similar allegations were made against Ibrox staff that at least one computer and some paperwork removed, do you think there could be charges brought over this if proven true?
Timalloy {Ed007's Note - It would be difficult to prove Tim, unless there was missing paperwork etc that could be tied into what was removed, I don't think there will be any legal action. If Mr Green has twenty wealthy investors in his group,why is he still approaching other people for investment? He stated that no one would own more than 15% of rangers,in these days probably a good thing,but if you were in the original investment group would you be happy? At the start of this you,as an investor,would own 5% of rangers for a stake of around 400k.Freddie Shepard has been approached and is thinking about investing.This will cut down on the shareholding already attained by the original investors,when would investors expect to receive a dividend from their investment of 400K? Could be a tax relief scheme and somewhere to leave money lying without tax,for a long haul investment vehicle.Then comes Paul Stretford,who is supposedly coming to take over football operations. Good Morning ED, not been on in a while recovering from operations, same as yourself, my ops were a success so now just having to have patience waiting on wounds to heal, much like yourself with your ankle.
Wanted to talk about a few things, firstly well done to Neil and the bhoys for winning the title.

Looking forward to Champions League already, Ed do you think Lawwell will give Lennon enough funds to strenghten team in important areas,

I would say minimum £5 -£6m needed. I think we need to offload at least 8 players Juarez, Mastovelic, Loovens, M Wilson, O'Dea, McCourt, Rasmussen, Murphy. If we get good offers for Ki and Stokes I would take them.

Lastly, cannot tell how how proud I was to see Thai Tims in glasgow and
how our global Celtic Family have made this possible. Neil T {Ed007's Note - Nice to hear from you Neil, I'm glad to hear you are doing well, keep it up. I think PL and the board will do their best to give NL what he is needing, whether that means selling before buying then fair enough, that is just the way things are now, and as you pointed out, we have enough players we could move on without affecting the squad. Take care Neil.}

I could be totally wrong here but the boy rudnevs signed for hamburg on 11th officially. why would lenny say that the bid is in for a player if he has already signed for a club two days before the hearts game?

Would of said we have bidded for somone already but deal is dead or not mentioned it at all. what do you think ed? i think its for either henriksen as u said earlier or another forward we have absolutely no idea about yet

He said we had a bid in last week and were out bid, not "we have a bid in this week"

Fair play to the guy who touted the striker Rudvens a good few months back, looks like we have missed out this time but shows good ambition that we are in competing with teams like Hamburg and Brugges for players like this. Quite like the look of the boy Henriksen. Can't think immediately of any defenders we could move for in Europe. Any whispers ? Ed do you think any of the following are realistic targets for us : Grant Holt, Marko Janko, guilfy Sigardsson, or even Ivan Klasnic or junior hoitlett on a free ? {Ed007's Note - I would doubt it mate, sorry.}

Cheers Glenn.I would say i am in awe of these kids.I love their carefree attitudes and if more people had their cheery disposition then the world would be a better place.Hope we see a lot more of these kids in their videos and maybe one day they will return as adults to see their team once again.
