Right hoops celtic have gave cliftonville back 500 tickets, if there's any hoops on here from belfast that don't have tickets get upto solitude tomorrow morning as they go on sale first thing. disappointed at our scottish friends not taking up the allocation, yas are going to miss out on some party. belfastbhoy!

Believable8 Unbelievable10

With what's going on in NI right now wouldn't want to be wandering about their pished at night after a celtic game mate probably be fine but you never know not worth the hassle IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Given the events of the past week and warnings from locals including regular posters on this site, I think its quite clear why some people have decided to give it a miss. It's fair to say the game could pass without incident, but some people don't want to take the chance.

MgC

Agree1 Disagree0

It's a shame, but you can't really blame the Celtic fans for not wanting to risk travelling to Belfast with what has been going on in the last few days.

JD

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes they say all the best partys are held in war zones . fab1

Agree0 Disagree0

C'ville website says Sean Grahams Bookies in King St are selling them from 10am
Tommy Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest most celtic fans did not get an offer of tickets A list travellers or some rubbish like most of the people who would have went did not get an offer been to Solitude many a time to see the Reds when over in ardoyne good luck I personally would have came over but sadly have to work HH

QPR have made an improved offer for Gary Hooper.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Hopefully this situation gets sorted out soon. We need to have confident and focussed strikers for the road ahead.

Ontario Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we have to draw a line under this and let him go unless he has said categorically to Niel he wants to stay

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2013 20:03:40
Why did Hooper say last week that he wants to stay last week yet this week Lennon has said he's more than likely going to leave. Think we should sell now and get either Sharp or Austin

MikeyBhoy88

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Austins medical failed with some other club a few days ago it was a knee problems something quite big so he's ruled out

Agree0 Disagree0

He never said he wanted to stay! Read the statement again, knowhere in it mentioned celtic.
(never thought I would be lost withought my phone, I hate laptops)

Bigbadjohn

Agree1 Disagree0

He's not brilliant for a player who failed a medical. I wouldn't mind Sharp either. Played for my home town club Doncaster and was great

MikeyBhoy88

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we don't sign doyle or sharp austin I would take but I also think federico macheda from Manchester United could be worth a loan deal with option to buy still very young and could help kick start his career also santa cruz is a free agent unless he signed somewhere I think he would be a much better shout than the strikers were linked with hail hail gbnl

eric1888

Agree0 Disagree2

To be fair he's quoted in the article saying we want to retain our title does insinuate that he means Celtic which would suggest he want's to stay

MikeyBhoy88

Agree0 Disagree0

Good luck to GH I get that feeling he is going need it, same with VW good luck.
If they do not hit the ground running then backwaters they will be, and Celtic will have made a mint from the two likely lads.
Now let us talk about who is here and who is coming in.
We want Heros who want to become Legends.

Forward line Outs: Hooper, Miku, Lassad and talk of Watt going out on loan.
Inns: Balde

Midfield outs: Wanyama & Mccourt
Inns: Nil

Defence outs: Rogne and arguablly Wanyama again
Inns: Virgil and a free tranfer player whos only played aout 60 games in the last 7 years.
We quite clearly need to sign at least one new striker, Central midfieder, a game changing winger of some sort and Cover at left back just to get our squad back to last seasons size and quality.
Plus more if we want to build on last year.
Bring in James MacArthur(2M), Gary MacKay Stevens(1.5M), Jordan Rhodes(4M) and Phil Bardsley(2.5M), all sorted and all scottish internationals.
Tht still leaves 2M in bank plus 5M from sale of hooper
Kevbhoyo

Believable5 Unbelievable20

Apart from MacArthur I would be happy here.

Think Bannan is better in terms of creative skill, MacArthur more of a Scott Brown without the ability and dig.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mc Arthur for 2 Rhode's for 4 get in the real world man, and as for Bardsley, you must be joking
Tambhoy

Agree3 Disagree0

Yeah because we will sign a player Blackburn paid 8m for, for. 4m what u smoking u maniac?

SOS BHOY {Ed007's Note - I'm not wanting to get bogged down in all this again but Blackburn did not pay £8m for Rhodes buddy, the possible total of the deal could have reached £8m. That figure has already dropped because Blackburn didn't get promotion. A lot of the deal was made up with performance related clauses, both for Blackburn and the player. I'm 99% positive that the guaranteed sum was in the region of £4m - 4.5m
If I was Lawwell I would see if Blackburn fancied a straight swap for Hooper, but then again I'm a brass-necked sod and PL is the shy, retiring type :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

You have made a good point about the amount off players leaving compared to players arriving remi gearson and victor noring have also left I think we need 4 players still a left back paul dixon would be a good player to get I agree about gary mckay steven sol bamba can play as a ch or cm and the striker I would go for would be conner sammon all players we could afford the fee and wages

Agree0 Disagree1

Phil Bardsley. you having a laugh? Remember who he played for? Plus he's mince. McArthur wouldn't fit in with the number of centre mids we have. Mackay-Steven isn't quite good enough for Celtic yet and Jordan Rhodes will stay at Blackburn this season.

Agree1 Disagree0

No to phil Beardsley used to play with them so no chance

Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's the case ed 4m is still a ridiculous sum it's less than what they paid, I would love Rhodes by he's out our price range I wish we bought him when Blackburn did

SOS BHOY

Agree0 Disagree1

Bradsley is a thugs, he definitely isn't Lennon's cuppa tea. We never get MacArthur at such a low price nor Rhodes. He is old.news we missed our chance to get him. He'll move for big money or see his contract out.

I don't think Lennon will replace Wanyama, I thinly he sees enough in Kayal . I don't tho.
Bee Bee

Agree0 Disagree1

FFS, FFS, FFS, were do I start? McArthur, please you can't be that THICK!never in 1 million years is he good enough for the hoops.BANNAN FFS.Rhodes ok goals but he cost 8 EFFIN MILL, DOES ANYONE THINK WE CAN GET HIM FOR HALF THAT?IF YOU DO FONE THE EFFIN SAMARITANS because i'm CLOSE TO IT READING THIS MERDE.OHHHH NAW PAUL DIXON?ARE WE A BIG CLUB OR NOT?ARE WE . A GIVE UP THE WILL TO . al geri.

Agree0 Disagree2

Charlie mulgrew is cover at LB, Matthews played a blinder there against barca too - covered. Mckay-Stevens i'd take, him and Forrest would cause havoc. 6mill for Hooper i'd put 5 in for Rhodes. Midfield i'd take bannon or possibly the Scottish WBA mid, black hair forget his name but he was trf listed last year. ledley or kayal will fill vics role.

Agree0 Disagree0

Graeme dorrans! That's the guy, creative with a great dig.

Agree0 Disagree1

I can just put this post to bed jordan rhodes for 4 million quid your having a laugh the guy has scored something like 80 goals in his last 2 seasons so your going to be looking at at least 10 million. the guy is a class act and the thing about him is he is still a young guy. I reckon one more good season with blackburn and he will be destined for a top four team in the epl.

Agree0 Disagree0

McArthur would never sign 4 us anyway. Rangers daft
Craigy

Agree0 Disagree1

Paul Dixon? You want izzy to share his spot with the guy that broke his leg? Get a grip buddy!

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

No chance with dorrans, he was at glasgow airport a few weeks back and I jokingly asked him if he fancied joining the tic, the look he gave me told me he won't be joining us EVER . fab1

Agree0 Disagree0

Need to ask yourself who is going to come to the spl? Cheap foreign imports that are utter rubbish. EPL isn't much better, its all predictable. Any player that just want to play should go to Italy, Spain, France, Germany or even the MLS just for the lifestyle. This league is f****d!
Realist

Agree1 Disagree0

Was it not Peter Pawlett that broke Izzys ankle?

MgC

Agree0 Disagree1

Darrenbhoy, izzy broke his ankle up at pitoddrie.
Dixon played for utd then moved on to Huddersfield .
Before slating the poster get facts right.
As it happens Dixon wld b fine cover. Suggested we went for him before he headed down south,
Stevo dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree witht what youve write KevBhoyo untill you said about bardsley and MacArthur, i'd rather splash the cash on McCarthy in midfield and Danny Rose

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets promote u21 players and invest the money back into our youth development fund. Is it any wonder why the likes of barca, real madrid and a host of other big names have like a great youth policy? We want to have great young players coming through and given the chance to shine so that we can reap the rewards, not buy foreign just for the sake of it

Celtic have rejected Norwich's Gary Hooper ultimatum. A club spokesman said that they would not be pressured into selling any player and that they are not going to be "pushed" into any deals.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

The club would be stupid to reject this offer. Celtic won't get anymore than the £4million offered. Hooper will turn down QPR which will mean Hooper stays at the club, isn't committed and leaves for free next year.

Celtic need to stop being stubborn because currently there fighting a losing battle.

when the f##k did a team like norwich start dictating to a team like celtic its owned by a f##king cook for f##ksake tell them too f##koff sorry for french meagle tim

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoopers goal threat could be worth 4 million to get group stages then sell January let's see joes bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

What has the owner of Norwich got to do with anything?

Any Celtic fan with any sense would see that the team is not in a position to think that they are in control of the situation. Hooper wants to leave and he will do. Be it for £4million or free next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

In answer to the person who asked who the F*** Norwich City are, they are a premier league club playing against top quality opposition every week and the first season back in premiership generated £78M income, last season it was more but this has not been published yet, so expect revenue this season with new PL TV deal to exceed 100M income. Oh and by the way we were the first British team to beat Bayern Munich in their own stadium and only Arsenal last season have managed it since.

Celtic have been offered Luciano Becchio in a player plus cash deal with Norwich for Gary Hooper. Deadline of 5pm today and Neil Lennon said not to be keen on the deal.

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Depends on the cash amount offered but I have to say I generally like the look of Becchio when he was at Leeds. Either way if / when Hooper goes we need a striker and unless Lenny has someone else in mind I reckon Becchio could do a good job for us

Gary

Agree0 Disagree0

You are talking rubbish! A player cannot play for 3 club's in a callender year rule fact!@! {Ed007's Note - That's incorrect, the ruling is regarding a season, NOT a calendar year.

Article 5 Paragraph 3 of the Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, the regulation should be applied as stated.’

Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during
one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play
offi cial matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player
moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping
seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to
winter/spring) may be eligible to play in offi cial matches for a third
club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with
his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs.}

Helder Barbosa is NOT a free agent. He is contracted to Braga until 30/06/2014. So if we want him we will have to stump up a decent amount of money

LM67 {Ed007's Note - He seems to have recently signed a year's extension, or there was an extension clause the club triggered. He was on every 'official list' of possible Bosman's (players entering the last 6 months of their contract) since December.}

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Yeah it looks like that's what happened, probably the club activating a clause in his contract. Just wanted to point it out as many have been calling for us to sign him because he's free

So celtic have been given the 5pm deadline for hooper today. Will be gutted when he goes. don't think a lot of people realise what a contribution the boy has put in for us. Would have absolutley loved him to sign a new deal and go in a year but these things happen.

Bite the bullet, all the very best to him and good luck on the new clubs offer and what they have to offer you.

@jockdj83

Believable9 Unbelievable4

How he's going to manage with just stokes and blade for the cliftonville game defies me. can see him going one up top against them, joke!

this hooper carry on should have been put to bed weeks ago, and had a decent replacement in for this important qualifier. blade looks not wuite upto it and stokes is no hooper although a good player nonetheless.

King E

Agree0 Disagree0

His over-all contribution was massive, but when his head was turned in the January window it did affect him for several weeks and it was clear when a new contract was never signed, he would be off at the first opportunity.
I only hope we can attract another 30 goal a season man right away.
NL has done his best to build a hungry and successful young team, but within a week we now have lost 2 key players at the start of the latest window just before a new season.
He must be as frustrated as we are.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

This hooper carry on should have been sorted out weeks ago, a decent replacement should have be in already before preseason started. I think we will be ok with stokes for now if he puts his head down and plays football. Gazdcelt

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha ok with stokes, u kidding? The guy is spl class at best, and at that its only when he's not in a huff! We need a new striker now, get hooper gone had enough of his BS should have shown him the door in january and took the chance of winning more medals away from him. We are celtic football club and will not be held to ransom by some guy that will go and be forgotten about, he's no Henrik Larsson who will always be classed as a legend not just for his goals, but for the commitment he showed to a team that gave him a chance when things weren't going well in holland! Goodbye Gary Hooper u will be forgotten about come Xmas!

Agree0 Disagree0

@jockdj83

I think most people DO appreciate his efforts for us. I have always thought he was magnificent for Celtic and I think we all think that way about him. What's souring the relationship is the way he seems to be playing things to get away. It might not all be his fault though, the club are perhaps contributing to matters. I don't suppose we'll ever really know.
Like most fans I'd love him to stay, but only if he were to be the player we knew before last January. He seems to have gone off the boil since then and in that case he is no good to us. We need committed players and he doesn't fall into that category any more. I wish him well but when the story is hanging over the club I just want it over.
It's like having a girlfriend who tells you she's thinking of dumping you if a new man comes along. You might wish she'd change her mind but it gets to the point where the pain is too much and you need to know one way or the other.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

82 goals in a 136 games. not Larsson class but a bloody good striker none the less. Who have we seen as close to Larsson class since he left Celtic? If we got one more season from him and he got to a 100 career goals for me he will got down as a Celtic legend. Not in the Larsson class as I've said but he would deserve his recognition none the less. Would love to see him commit but who knows what goes on behind the scenes.

I heard Lennon arrived in Portugal yesterday, anyone heard why? I don't think we have friendlies there so I was wondering if it was a business deal to sign a player

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Hope its to sign Helder Barbosa

Agree0 Disagree0

Somehow I doubt it with a CL game in 2 days time.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Helder Barbosa or else asking Vitoria for our money back from Balde

Agree1 Disagree0

You've heard incorrectly. Lennon clearly said the other day that we would be doing no business until after the Cliftonville games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tony Watt sent NL to Portugal to pick up a flip flop that he left in list and found because he's turned on to a demanding premaddona.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt he's left the team 3 days before a Champions League qualifier

LM67

Agree0 Disagree0

I should have said I know for a fact Lennon did arrive in Portugal yesterday. I was at Celtic park and was talking to the people who worked there. He asked his boss "are we expecting Neil today" the boss said "No, he arrived in Portugal this morning"

I obviously dunno what it's about but I know for a fact he was in Portugal yesterday

Agree0 Disagree0

My uncle saw NL and Garry Parker last night in ashton lane so whoever told you this is telling porkies.

G93

Agree0 Disagree0

Who knows, I am only going on what I heard from the people who usually look after him when he arrives at Celtic Park.

He could possibly have been there during the day before coming back here at night. Transfer periods are usually crazily busy like that.

Hopefully we are signing Jackson Martinez from Porto with the Wanyama money haha or Cardozo

Agree0 Disagree1

OP: What were you doing at CP? And how come you were talking to someone who would have been asking his boss if Neil was coming in today? What was your business there in the first place? Were you wanting to speak to NL or something? And why would the boss have revealed such information when someone like you was hanging around?
Please clarify your claim or go away. Possibly to the club at the other end of town? It's hard to tell who you are when you don't leave a name.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I need to be careful in what I say ChrisyBhoy. I had an interview at Celtic Park yesterday. A discussion was happening between people above me, they kept details concealed but mentioned that Lennon was in Portugal yesterday morning.

I can't say who I am or what I do because I don't want to mess my chances up.

No need to give me a hard time and suggest i'm a zombie just because I said Lennon was in Portugal yesterday. It's not like I'm here making up rumours or I'd have the name of a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the thing is, it's kinda hard to take your comments seriously. You might be telling the truth but if I told you my uncle was my mum's brother you'd probably want proof before you'd believe me. Do you see what I mean? Anyone could say anything really, AND, those people having the conversation didn't conceal it well enough if you heard it, did they?
Are you by any chance Lionel Messi and you were there for the vacant position of Striker?

I don't see what the big deal is, I heard a guy saying Lennon was in Portugal. It's not such a far fetched thing.

Also If I was going to make something up believe me it would be far better than that.

According to people inside Celtic Park he was in Portugal that morning, I was simply asking if anyone knew of anyone we could be after from there, or if any deals were going on.

I never came on to get abuse on who I was ffs
