Martin Oneill to make Craig Gordons contract renewal a top priority and apparently already informed NL of this.

Believable4 Unbelievable21

O Neil is too clever to offer a new contract to Craig Gordon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Too clever.......30k a week for 5 years for bobo balde??? wasnt too clever eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah, Balde was clever there, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually he WAS clever. Balde was still a good player, Oneil left 6months later and it was STRACHAN who froze balde out. Get ur facts right!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon it was Lawwell's decision to freeze Balde out if I'm being honest! {Ed007's Note - October 2007: Bobo Balde: 'I don't want to be at a where I am not wanted, but I want to make it clear I am not just taking the money. I have been told that I am not in the top two defenders and I am now down to sixth on the list, the manager and then Peter told me this.'

Strachan didn't rate him and Balde spat the dummy out and went to Lawwell. I think Strachan was proven right going by his record as manager.}

Hi Ed great site as always hope u r well. Any news on Halliche he looks a player, quick and aggressive just the type we need. And whats ur views on Lustig (another right back?) why lol and Blackman. {Ed007's Note - I'm good thanks apart from the cold/flu. NL has said he has 'other options' than Halliche. I think Lustig coming means that someone (Cha/Matthews/Mark Wilson???) might be leaving next month. Blackman is young, he could be one for the future if he knuckles down.}

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Thanks ed i def hope its not Mathews he been 1 of our better players and why wud we sell him so quick surely his value can only go up. Rayman {Ed007's Note - Liverpool have watched him along with Fulham. Glen Johnson will be sold next month or in the summer. He has a stipulation in his contract that he plays a certain percentage of games and KD doesn't like it. He has watched a LOAD of RBs though.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be amazed and disappointed if Matthews went anywhere. Halliche; I was never convinced about his credentials so I am delighted NL has called it that way. Wilson is out of contract in the summer? I think so anyway.I would hate to see MW go as I am a sentimental type. Ed can you confirm please? Cha has done well and I personally like him as a solid squad player. I would rather we had a big squad of players vying for positions unlike in MON day when we all knew the team week in week out and the squad was actually very poor as the second string were always poor replacements. {Ed007's Note - Mark Wilson is out of contract in the summer. Cha and Ki's international duties are causing some problems because of the travelling etc.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed,
Hope you're well.

I'll be very surprised if it's Matthews who leaves.

I think Cha AND Wilson could go but it'll be in that order! Lustig is a good signing as he can play both right back and centre back.

JD

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks good and strong but with a footballing mind so I think we could do a lot worse than him. Nick him now before someone else does.

BBC Sport - Mjallby says Celtic watching Baba Diawara of Maritimo - talks have started.

Believable26 Unbelievable2

I didn't think this move would be on as I thought the fee would be out of our reach as there's no doubt about this guys credentials. If talks have started then that's very positive. Hope the board move fast and not let other clubs sway his mind.

Is the deal for the Jan window?

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard this deal could be tied up before the window opens. wouldn't mind seeing him come in. Also heard Sammy off in January to an Italian team.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the type of calbre of player we should be persuing.

So please stop with the Andy Johnson type rumours, they just bring folk down!

celtic to sign andy johnson in january for 3 mil

Believable5 Unbelievable39

Hope not. This guys been going downhill since his time at Crystal Palace. Think not. Even Neil Lennon has indicated the type of forward Celtic are after, and Johnson isn't it.

i picked up mccoist at airport in my taxi ..he says rangers will be entering admin on january 21st

Believable23 Unbelievable30

He'd sell his story to the Times before he told you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye allys gonna tell a taxi driver something he probably doesnt know much about, dam what a load of pants

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard hes got £13.5 mil to spend in tansfer window after Liverpool double swoop for Jelavic and kayal

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, ofcourse, because Ally McCoist just hires random taxi firms ... not that ally would know about it ... craig whyte wouldn't know either because the verdict won't be reached until februray

Agree0 Disagree0

Is your suspension okay after that fare ?

jimi88

Agree0 Disagree0

Right so the manager of rangers tells random taxi drivers the intimate details on the future existence of the club?? if thats true, he must be as stupid as you think we all are.

Funny wee clip with some ned getting kicked off the train. Good to see they get what they deserve sometimes. Karma ;)

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Some report that the guy who chucked him off is getting into trouble now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rightly so. The big fella has assaulted the alledged fare dodger so why should he get away with it?
The transport police should've been called and checked out the boys story when they apprehended him at the next station.

It is feasable that the boy was indeed issued with the wrong ticket and could've been sorted out easily.
I wouldn't like it if my son was thrown off the train by some fat pranny just because they saw themselves as judge and jury and made their mind up that he was a fare dodger.
Incidentally, the swearing is not acceptable but still doesn't merit being assaulted and thrown off.

Agree0 Disagree0

When I seen this yesterday..I thought it was a bit harsh as well ! My daughter's about the same age & would hate to thing she would be thrown of a train. Imagine if something had happened to the young guy. His language & attitude is unacceptable..I would like to think she wouldn't have done that - Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

The big fella will get charged and the ticket inspector could be fired for not doing his job properly, I work for the same company and the s**ts hitting the fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was there I would have knocked that fat guy out. that boy could have been stranded or lost his fare or had it stolen and could only get home that way. If he was a wee ned starting trouble then Id be on the fat guys side but from what we can see the boy is just trying to get home.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen the clip this morning i think the old conductor is to blame when the guy refused to get off he should have just had the transport police waiting at the next stop instead of holding up the train till the guy gets pissed of enough to lob the guy aff so they can get going ppl's teas might have been getting cauld

Agree0 Disagree0

He deserved it

Agree0 Disagree0

This wee sh&t is on the radio claiming that he was sold the "wrong ticket" aye right, the sad thing is the big guy who did the right thing will get charged for this too! The system works eh?? Madness man absolute f*kn Madness!! Lets just let the wee neds do whatever they want so the rest of us can live in fear, as if you try to defend your self or home you get the jail! Great stuff eh??

Agree0 Disagree0

For the alleged offence this is way too heavy handed. Transport police should have been called and they deal with it. The guy thrown off is supposedly pressing charges and the "Big Man" could be in bother

Agree0 Disagree0

The BIG MAN is just a big bully hope he gets it tight. it should off been left to the polis

Agree0 Disagree0

Too right they should get in trouble... the wee guy looks 14 years old if hes a day, all that for what a couple of quid. Im sure it could have been sorted differently. I would be raging if anyone manhandled my son like that over a train fare sorry. Think this is over the top

The latest regarding the wee Ned getting thrown out train. They have an interview with him, just gimme 2 mins with him and he'd pay his fares next time I assure you.
Can you believe its had over 1.5Million views! That's amazing.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is just another example of the disintegration of standards and decency in society. This "poor wee guy" is in fact a young man of 19 and a University student. He thinks its acceptable to dodge his fare and swear at an older man carrying out his duty as a conductor on the train (poorly paid I am sure). SO he swears and lies in front of women and little kids and holds up the whole train. A completely shameful situation. Some people actually have responsibilities. You know jobs, families to feed, elderly relatives to look after etc etc. So its OK to inconvenience everyone? This precious young student and his rights of course have to be maintained over the rights of the poor conductor who is basically being abused and the other rail travellers. I think we all have to get a grip I have had rougher treatment and sustained greater injuries playing volleyball than this young student sustained due to in the most part his own selfish and disgraceful behaviour. Yes the big man probably could be criticised but his intention was not to injure or hurt the young man only to assist the conductor and allow the lawful business of the rail company to proceed. If this young man had any decency he would apologise and learn from his silly behaviour and stop acting like some wounded victim. Its amazing that the train passengers were generally supportive but as we sit isolated and sanitized from the situation we sit in judgement of the big man and the elderly conductor. If any of my sons acted in such a way I would be horrified.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the above poster.Get a grip of yourself.The "Big Man" had no place sticking his nose into the situation.As a train driver we have procedures to deal with situations like this.What if the youngster had fell under the train?You have seen the "Mind The Gap" signs haven't you I take it.The conductor was 100% in the wrong according to company policy and the member of the public should be charged with common assault.No member of the public has the right to assault anyone.It wasn't exactly a damsel in distress scenario.What horrifies me is that you would blame your own children in a situation like that.If it was my son I would be demanding to meet face to face a complete stranger who thinks he has the right to manhandle my child.What about you Bond? {Ed007's Note - Whatever age I was the 'Fat man' would have had a bit of a sore face as soon as he laid a finger on me. Then I would take my chances with the police/courts. It would be self defence I would be claiming and I agree with you that my father wouldn't have been happy if I was assaulted in this way. The Fat Man should have sat where he was, shut his mouth and kept out of it. He had probably finished the last of his steak-bakes on the journey and hunger was kicking in!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems everyone is a "big man" as both you (poster above) and Ed 007 are condoning or threatening much greater violence than the big man in the train ever did. But maybe I misunderstand the intent and tone of your comments. Oh and I will try to get a grip. Thanks for your advice. {Ed007's Note - If a stranger lays a finger on me surely I am allowed to defend myself? He deserves a good slap for manhandling another human being without having the relevant authority, he obviously feels it is acceptable to get involved in a situation that has absolutely nothing to do with him, his energy would be better served visiting a gym. Members of the public have no right to behave like that. Would he have acted like that if it was a young woman with a kid that had an argument over her ticket, or a 6ft 2, 15 stone guy? Because it was a younger guy he decided to get involved.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd have thought more of him if he had offered to help the young man out by buying him a replacement ticket instead of assaulting the boy

David {Ed007's Note - Anything could have happened injury wise when he pushed him him of the train, he could have been seriously injured, even a a broken neck is possible from a short fall. Would people still say he was right if that happened?. I can not see how anyone can defend The Fat Man in all this. He is not exactly Charles Bronson is he?}

Agree0 Disagree0

And according to media reports today (21st Dec) the big fella's been charged. Not sure with what exactly but huckled he has been! {Ed007's Note - He has been quite rightly charged with assault.}
