Anyone know why Gary Hooper is left out the squad tonight?

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Because QPR didn't want him to play!.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

Hamstring injury.
gbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he is joining a team down south. He just wanna get out b4 the season starts and talking to Bruce again. Its time for him to leave and everyone knows it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thigh strain and might not make Cliftonville which is a big worry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Injured and will miss champions league match

Agree0 Disagree0

Norwich allegedly interested. We are likely selling so may be a precaution to keep injury free for a sale. Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he hasn't given a toss about Celtic for the last 18 months

Agree1 Disagree1

Another loss, bad habit to get. friendlies or not.al geri.

Agree0 Disagree0

A vastly over rated striker 4 mill bite yer hand of get rid. weres jonnie? al geri.

So that's clear then, it's a thigh injury to the hamstring that he got in Hull, Norwich and Shepherds Bush .Andymac.

Agree0 Disagree0

After seeing Stokes and Balde in the 4 pre season friendlies I'm petrified of losing Hooper for these qualifiers. Infact without him we have no chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jul 2013 02:48:25
hooper wants away we have to sell.i would have sold him in january, I just hope we spend the money wisely

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure we can manage to get by the first qualifying round without hooper if he goes if he doesn't want to play for celtic get rid of him and play sammy and stokes up front. Then get someone else in that realises how lucky they are to play for Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is injured. simples

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon in the papers this morning saying it will be hard to keep him. Get him sold now and get his replacement in ASAP. He clearly won't sign and we are better getting 4.5 million for him now than 1 million in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stokes.has he EVER kicked a ball for us. His best game in the Hoops was Scottish Cup final. He's just another passenger and to be fair we seem to have a train full of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree sick of reading speculation about him hope we get rid and get someone else in who wants to play for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes ****ed mate and plus looks like he's on his way out

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree hooper should just go class act but can bring in boys that want to play for the club an that's coming from a gers fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoops is going, lenny has said it will be hard to keep him! I say pack his bags and show him the door, if he wants to leave let him be gone. we are CELTIC FC and no one player is bigger than us! Get a decent replacement as stokes won't give us his goals and balde still has to learn the Celtic way. Bye bye hooper u will never see a medal again, FACT

See posters again talking about jordan rhodes as a possible replacement for hooper this is cloudtcuckoo land as far as wages and the transfer fee goes.get real fellas we are in the bargain bucket even as big as we all know we are.rhodes is not even proven quality, championship only so far, but because he has played in england his transfer and wages are treble the actual value.people need to get real on here and lower their expectations of transfer targets.

tv seem to think Celtic are interested Javier Saviola but QPR are leading the chase. He would be a good signing, but I'd think his wage demands would be high considering the clubs he's been at and QPR could pay more than us.

Believable1 Unbelievable16

I've said it before and I'll say again, that guy would be immense up here, I don't care if he's 31/32 its what we need! How good would this guy or Honda (ok 27 but should be 32 lol) be experience wise? Sammy and Forrest/mcgeogh would look like world beaters playing wide of these guys. I'm all for the way the board want to go, bring in, develop, sell on, with a few from the development sqaud also and I mean a few as some just won't cut it, but there's no harm in 1 top class player either side of 30 helping out! Commons and Sammy are our most experienced player but u can't count on them when it matters!
Anyway. saviola doubtfull but what we need or similar.

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

This would be a great signing especially in Europe

Agree0 Disagree0

Hop on, ., .kbarry

Agree0 Disagree0

We seem to have been linked with him since the MON days and I don't think he ever fancied Scotland. Doubt it - but who knows?

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Would of been ok signing 3 years ago. Let John park decide every over 30 been a flop. Lubo not included hail hail

Agree0 Disagree0

I very much doubt Park has to make a serious decision on these type of players. ?
but at least the no name poster agrees that someone the wrong side of 30 can make an impression in the such high standards celtic fans are looking for, get a grip!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Javier Saviola your having a laugh he would not waste his time at Celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

Wants to play in london acording to Argentine press but isn't looking for big wages so who knows

Ed I have heard that we are looking at Hendrix from Derby County, I don't know much about him. have you heard anything about this?

kenny bhoy {Ed007's Note - No.}

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Is he experienced?. green jhedi

Agree1 Disagree0

Age 21, midfielder, 91 Derby County appearances with a goal or two thrown in along the way and 4 full Ireland caps. The guy must have something about him but he hasn't came under the radar yet. Haven't seen him play.

Anybody think we could afford Valentin Stocker from Basel. Would be perfect for us at left mid.

Mikeybhoy

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Basel have said they want £2.5 million. If he can pay more for Van Dijk then we can definitely afford Stocker.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would do me mate. very tidy player with a great work rate. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Celtic fan I would think Celtic is a step up from Basel, but would Stocker? They can get in the Champions League, coming in at a later qualifying rond than us and also got to the Europa League semi finals last year. I wouldn't be too confident we could sign him but for £2.5m ( if that's true ) it's worth asking.

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I had seen of him over the last 6 months, I thought he would have been worth a wee bit more than that, so would be daft not to be interested, not an out and out winger but left sided, tidy and solid. Great addition if happened?

It's a shame Hooper won't settle himself and be content with playing in Scotland. The success he's having with us is clearly not enough for him and he seems intent on returning south in the hope of an England call up. And that's fair enough if that's what the lad wants but at this stage he has only attracted serious interest from Hull in the PL and now QPR in the Championship and I can't see either team earning him an England cap. Can't he see what he's walking away from? You'd think so, wouldn't you, but his mind seems to be made up and his sense of ambition appears to be somewhat disorientated. But there you go, you can't please players all the time. I hope we ship him out sooner rather than later because his heart is not in our jersey anymore. Giving him a game now is simply taking the chance away from someone who really wants to impress. His past form is definitely not a guide to his current performances for us so let's not jump to his defence.
We wish you well Gary, but we've got a football club to run. Adios!

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Believable14 Unbelievable2

And so say all of us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hull say they will not be making an improved offer - but they will be testing Celtic's resolve by looking to sign him on the cheap. Norwich have gone quiet, but they may come back in if the bidding is around £4m?
That would leave QPR who would pay the £5m+ but would Hooper go back to Championship? Possibly with a London club with promotion prospects
Maybe both parties missed the boat in January when we may have got more money and Hooper would be in the EPL? But then he wouldn't have scored 2 goals in a cup final and added another medal to his tally.
We should never keep a player that is keen to leave, but sometimes the grass isn't always greener etc.
The bottom line is, if he goes we need a replacement NOW; as we don't have another 20/30 goal player.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

In his last interview he said he was staying mate.

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes Darren, but he doesn't seem to want to sign a new contract so if he stays it will only be to walk away for free. Is that what you want to see? I'd love him to stay but apparently the dogs on the street know he wants to go.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye hooper has already came out and said last week he was staying and was looking to beat his goal tally from last season as he wasn't impressed not getting to the 20 mark in SPL, and that he was also looking forward to another champions league campaign. But I agree with Jungle Jim if he is going to go we need to have a decent enough replacement already lined up I also think he should be brought in before hooper goes, don't want to be leaving it to the last minute and end up with another Miku or Lassad.

S

Agree0 Disagree0

When he said he was staying did he mean he wants to stay for another 2-3 years or did he mean he wants to stay for another season then walk away? He didn't say one way or the other and he didn't say anything about committing his future to Celtic unlike Joe Ledley who has publicly said he wants to stay for the future. That's the kind of commitment we need and therein lies the problem, no-one seems to know what Hooper wants. There don't appear to be any signs of him even discussing a new contract never mind signing it. He could still stay for another season and have his crack at goal scoring records both domestically and in Europe. and still walk away for free. Am I the only one who sees that?
The guy needs to commit one way or the other and the fact that he seems to have a problem doing it would suggest he is playing a waiting game and looking for a move that suits him if it can be engineered. He can't be blamed for looking after his own interests and it looks to me that Celtic are also waiting for a decent offer before pressing the button on the exit hatch. I honestly don't see him staying at Celtic beyond the closing date for English club transfers. Watch this space!
I sincerely hope I'm wrong because if he signs he will rediscover his form and commitment that has made him so good for our club.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't say he was staying! Read the statement properly, Wanyama said he was happy to stay, look what happened there!
Hopefully with the 12.5mil and countless other millions, hopefully we could offer Hooper enough for him to reconsider, if not take the money now but it'll cost more than the 2.2mil that Hooper cost to buy they goals!

Bigbadjohn

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares if he walks for free tbh, if his goals get us into the cl then there 15milion, I'd like him to sign a new contract but if he doesn't and still fires us into the group stages then so be it. 2.2 million very well spent. Your waaaaay to quick to crucify our players Chris. Every post of yours I read is a negative one. Maybe your on the wrong side of the site buddy.

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Darren l care more than you could know. I'm not negative, l'm a realist. He doesn't wanna play so he won't be firing us into the CL group stages. If he signs l'll be his biggest fan but l have no time for messers. I suspect you're a bit naive yourself if LM being honest. But that's just my opinion.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Your moaning over around 3 million pounds of profit when we stand to make 15 if we get into the champions group stage. Whether hoops is here next season or not I don't give a flying fudge. We are a selling club now, like it or in this case lump it. You might think it naive but I like to think I look at the bigger picture. There's a plan in place that is working we have made a fortune all ready 3 million quid won't change that mate. I'm more worried over who his replacement will be if I'm honest. Move on.

Darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I would prefer to sell a half-hearted player for £4-5m instead of letting him hang around and drag everyone else down with his poor attitude and indecision. I think you'll find that those who call the shots at Celtic will agree with me Darren.

Upon Celtic's return from Germany, the away kit for the new season will be unveiled. The club will also announce that Anthony Stokes has signed a new contract and that Steven Mouyokolo has signed a one-year deal.

Heard celtic have enquired about former Manchester United youth player Magnus Eikrem. {Ed007's Note - He left Molde and signed for Heerenveen only last month on a 4 year contract. He hasn't kicked a ball for them yet so I seriously doubt CFC enquired about him.}

Celtic looking at Tomas Bruns a dutch 21yr old midfielder too replace Wanyama, he plays for Heracles at present

Daily record mince, they are guessing as usual,

Ska Bhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

He's got a lot to live up to with a name like that if he signs for Celtic. there's only one Tommy Burns.

The lad has a bit of a disciplinary problem on the pitch. Picks up quite a few cards, of both colours.

Where did u hear this? Or u just making it up because STV put a list of 5 players to replace big vic, most of players mentioned in past few posts have been mentioned on STV website LAST NIGHT. I think some people are just making up mince as they go along when the actually don't have a clue who they are talking about.
