The Celtic-Kevin Davies rumour started this morning on Talksh1t. Irani and Brazil talking to the moose. about west ham targets. Irani suggested Davies and then suggested celtic might be a better fit for both. As it goes I think he would be a great signing, great experience and help out a very young celtic team. physical presence we've missed for a few seasons

Believable13 Unbelievable5

Great player , but out our reach, gets daft money even at Bolton, would love him up here

Agree7 Disagree5

Would have him here in a second, would add quality and fight to our attacking options.

They were a poster the other day saying Celtic should sign Darron Gibson. I've just seen he's away to Everton for £1.5m. That is funny money.
FF81 {Ed007's Note - His wages are even funnier FF81. When Brown and O'Shea went to Sunderland, Gibson was meant to go as well but Sunderland baulked at his £45k a week wage demands. Everton will probably be paying him about that.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I was thinking that was a snip for him until you said the wage he would command. Now that is funny money. Ed, where has Everton got the money from? Or is that the money they got for the sale of Arteta?
FF81 {Ed007's Note - Arteta took a pay cut to go to Arsenal. He was on £80k a week at Everton, hard to believe but he was.}

Agree3 Disagree3

That's not hard to believe Ed. Arteta was on £100k a week at Rangers but only got paid £1000 into his bank the other £99k got payed into a offshore bank account. I think they called it a EBT scheme lol. ;-). Night Ed
FF81 {Ed007's Note - Night mate lol.}

Agree7 Disagree1

Why would we be interested in signing Darren Gibson, we have much better players than him already in our midfield. The money we have would be better spent on a CF.

Agree6 Disagree2

Just signed for Everton.
Two bullets in two days.. goodtimes!

Now lets get someone in.
Nike Friday awaits. LOL

Kayal is the one who should be
transferred, but unfortunately he always
gets injured around about the New Year.
What good is a half season Midfielder,
when we have a surplus of them.
Sell him in the Summer and buy someone
to replace Majstorovic.
My definate not for sale players are -
Hooper, Ki, Wanyama, Ledley, Matthews,
Izaguirre and Forrest.
How about bringing Josh Thompson back
next season and giving him a go,
he's served his loan deal apprenticeships.

Believable1 Unbelievable24

Bring back josh thompson wtf are you on
The only good thing he should be serving is tea

Skinnybhoy

Agree14 Disagree8

Actually I think Josh Thompson might be worth another look next pre-season. When he was thrust into the team I think he showed there's potential there. He was raw as hell and he looked a nervous wreck most of the time but I'd hate to see him just offloaded as I reckon he'll end up a decent centre back. Whether it'll be at Celtic or not I'm not so sure but nonetheless for a 19 year old I think he did a job and could come back a better, more composed player. Got to remember as well he was playing for Mowbray...

Agree12 Disagree6

Totally agree with the last comment, for him to be thrown in a team playing so badly he showed more balls than the highly paid experience internationals (Mr. Braafheid) playing beside him. Had the makings of a good young player, it all depends if he's developed since then

Agree9 Disagree3

Kayal is our best player in my view!!

Agree12 Disagree1

Ur talkin as if kayal done his own ankle ya puddin! he got injured in a 50/50 challenge in an old firm game ffs! Then u sayin bring back Josh Thomson confirmed uv not got a clue way ur talkin about.

Agree5 Disagree2

We have a young CB already at Celtic Park with much better potential than Josh Thompson and his name is Thomas Rogne.

Agree13 Disagree0

Josh thompson is dyno

Agree3 Disagree4

The Injury sustained to kayal this year was due to a THUG's tackle. Surely thats not Kayals fault?!?!

Sass

Agree4 Disagree3

I'm not having a go at anyone but I often see the term " Celtic class" being used then I see people wanting josh Thompson back. I don't blame Josh Thompson for anything and he might be a decent centre half and age is on his side but he is not the answer for cfc

Agree2 Disagree1

Thug tacle its was a 50/50 ball which lennon has already said kayal went in jst as hard

Agree3 Disagree3

Watch the thug's leg, its straight and going nearly over the ball. McCulloch hits the top of the ball and follows through. Straight legged tackles are straight reds. This clown knew what he was up too. BTW Lennon has learned to shut up and not give the media the amo they require

sass

Agree5 Disagree5

Sass.....

Considering McCulloch was going in for a challenge against TWO Celtic players I can understand why he went in on the rough side, but still, it wasn't a maliscious challenge. Stop yer Fleckin' whingin' ya wee wumin, it's in the past!!

TTG

Agree2 Disagree7

Well said ttg

Agree0 Disagree3

Josh thompson will be an excellent cb i defo think he should be in the squad next season

Agree1 Disagree0

If he is that good a centre half I wonder why he can't get a game for Peterbrough, a team with the worst defensive record in their league .

Agree1 Disagree0

IMHO i think kayal and wanyama are head and shoulders above the rest of the team.if we were gettin rid of a midfielder then my choice would be ki.

Agree1 Disagree3

Kayal was injured for around 10 weeks well before Christmas last season, and broke his wrist near the end of the season. Him and Broony coming back at the end of 2010 helped the team overcome the nerves they suffered from with Shaun Maloney running the show in midfield.

my mate at st mirren has told me celtic have enquired about st mirrens Marc McAusland, think he would be decent back up but not good enough for a start.

Believable3 Unbelievable18

Nightmare

Agree4 Disagree0

Could be worth a shot in a better team

Agree2 Disagree2

Not likely. Not even as good as Broadfoot (yet he is young). Darren MacGregor was being considered but he is out with a long term injury.

Its a wind up

i said a couple of days ago that southampton had a bid for hooper rejected they have apparently placed an improved bid

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Where did u hear this
Cb

Agree3 Disagree0

There was NO bid just an enquiry, were would they get the 6 or 7 million from to buy him?

Agree1 Disagree3

Heard it from a friend whos usually spot on with these things told me about a few signings before they happened and as for where would they get the money from how do you know how much money they have or dont ? {Ed007's Note - Southampton's record fee paid for a player is £4 million, that was Rory Delap in 2001. They are wealthy but their chairman is not noted for splashing the money around.}

Agree4 Disagree1

Is their chairman related to ours?? lol

Agree2 Disagree0

Cortese has only been at the club (SFC) for less than three years, two of which we were in L1. Hes frugal yes but nobody really knows how big the coffers are.

Just heard on Radio Snyde fone(y) in that Jellyfish has a buy out clause of..... £2.5M!!
THAT'S JUST MADE MY FECKIN' NIGHT!
LMFAO
HH
/BB

Believable7 Unbelievable14

A hope thats true.wid pi55 ma self laughin.would serve them right

Agree4 Disagree3

This would be the icing on the cake if it was true. Their £10M striker (so they would have us all believe) going for £2.5M If this was the case does that mean that the summer bid of £6.5M they rejected was BullS**t?
I hardly think it is true though, why spend £4.5M to put a buyout clause of £2m less.

Agree6 Disagree2

Exactly.so obviously not true

Agree8 Disagree0

We should buy him for £2.5m, give Jellyfish a £1m payment as a thank you and then punt him on for £7m, making a £3.5m profit. lol.

Agree8 Disagree2

Can't be true
Cb

Agree6 Disagree0

Utter rubbish seeing as they paid 4M for him and thus the team that sold him could make 2M out of nothing if Jelavic was willing to go back to Vienna.

So unless he renegotiated his contract (which I don't remember him doing) it's nonsense.

Agree4 Disagree0

Who is actually daft enough to believe this? why would anyone, let alone them, pay £4 million for a striker and put in a clause were they make a loss intentionally?

Agree4 Disagree0

Yet another rumour about Rangers on a Celtic thread.

You bhoys really cant get enough can ya?

PMSL

Agree2 Disagree5

Aye enough of your destruction is cracking to watch from a birds eye view at the top of the table and why are you on here anyway what a contradiction that we care what you rejects are up to and you are on the celtic page!

Edd any idea what wages Alex is on at Chelsea? a bid of about £3mil would prob be accepted, but I think the wages would be a stimbling block! {Ed007's Note - He is on a reputed 50k+ a week.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Likely to go to QPR.

Agree4 Disagree0

Did you Seriously think we could possibly afford this guy? It was a cert he'd be on stupid money!
TT88

Agree7 Disagree0

Robbie was on 60K+ and dermot paid for that. Lennon has mentioned they would look in to a marquee signing if it became available! {Ed007's Note - Spurs still paid a percentage of Keane's wages.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Keane signed on loan with Villa.
Another bullet dodged IMHO.

Please let's stop the feckin short termism and stupid loan ideas and get a player like Salihi in a build for the future.

We have the momentum now we can't give the shame a chink of hope of getting back in here.
HH
/BB

Agree7 Disagree2

If we were really serious about our team! why are we even considering "marquee" signing's? We should put that money in a transfer fee and place a £6m+ bid for Jordan Rhodes! Rhodes is amazing and he will only get better and then all we need is a centre back.

If we did buy a marquee signing like Alex it would cost us the transfer fee plus his wages at 50k per week for a year and that is £2.6m + the £3m transfer fee that got mentioned so that is £5.6 for a "marquee signing"? why are we even considering this as an idea?

Jordan Rhodes is only 21 years old and if we did place a £6m bid for him and a 4 or 5 year contract! It makes sense to me so I dont see why the board are not making a bid like this and when he does leave we will atleast double our money on him! Its a win win situation in my eyes.

If our money men were really serious about our team he would be here already. {Ed007's Note - Huddersfield don't need or want to sell, plus Rhodes isn't looking to move in this window. It's not as simple as throwing a bid in.}

Agree7 Disagree1

The days of bids above 4m are gone

Agree3 Disagree3

We dont need another CB at the moment. What we are crying out for is A big strong CF in the shape of a Hartson or a Sutton.

Agree12 Disagree3

Evening gents, IMO we I would just like to see one more big f off main CB in there. Think we should scoop this guy from rapid v ASAP.
CB :)

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with u Ed that they prob wont sell him in this window caus they will make more money from promotion and then they can still sell him in the summer but Ed if u dont try u dont get! in reallity the board r just too tight. and to the poster that said we dont need a top cb wake up! we've needeed a good cb for years! we need players that can also compete in europe not just for spl. we defo need a good cf and good cb.

Airdrie hitman Ryan Donnelly is struggling to come to terms with the interest surrounding him, but is dreaming of a move south of the border.

Donnelly, who grew up following Celtic, has been watched by Premier League scouts as well as those from the SPL after netting 24 times in 25 games.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

He is division 1 player tops.but i think you should go for him to give the diamonds a wee bit more money. airdrie bear.

Agree2 Disagree5

He is division 1 player tops

you wouldnt be saying this if he was signing for you lot though would you?

Agree3 Disagree2

He also said he wouldnt turn down rangers or celtic

Ed-Any truth in Kevin Davies from Bolton?

Def the type of player we need but he's no spring chicken so 18 months at best out of him if we did.

Cheers

Richybhoy {Ed007's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable11

He's on big wages,so probably a no,but something different to what we have up front

Agree1 Disagree2

I thought he was of to west ham

Agree1 Disagree0

Your thinking of kevin nolan

Agree1 Disagree0

Bernie nolan maybe or one of her sisters..cool

Agree0 Disagree0

Bernie Nolan...lol.. My sides are splitting...!

I def heard Kevin was being considered. Same mould as Sutton so thought it maybe true as that's the type we need.

If Ed said it's a no then i'll take his word for it.

All this talk of a CB coming in makes me wonder who'll play beside him as I can't see Lenny leaving Charlie out and Thomas Rogne is shaping up nicely.

Spend it on a no7 Lenny

Richybhoy {Ed007's Note - I've said the same Richy, I don't see where a new CB will fit in with the amount of players we have in that position. Unless it is going to be a 'top drawer' signing.}

Agree3 Disagree2

To the poster above you r very easily pleased if u think the CB we have r good enough! loovens is a diddy, Majstorovic is too slow and makes too many mistakes, mulgrew is a left back, wanyama is cm, i do think rogne will become a good CB he would benefit from with a good cb. i really cant beleive some of u say we dont need a a good CB. ED hit the nail on the head by saying that if we get a CB then he needs to be top draw.

Agree1 Disagree4

So you would drop Rogne? Charlie will be a permanent feature at CB as his delivery is top drawer and leads by example. I'd be very happy going into the title run in with the defence that we have and use the funds for a CB on a top drawer CF.

Think we would have sold ki if we got a bid of 7m but not now kayals outas for hooper u just cant sell top scorer halfway thru title challenge especially trying to stop 4 in a row mon the hoops

Believable10 Unbelievable2

We wont sell Ki now that Kayal is out for the rest of the season.

Agree11 Disagree1

Never say never, rangers sold millar last year and still win league plus planning to sell jelavic.

Agree1 Disagree5

The difference being their need for cash.......

Agree0 Disagree0

That's right we did! N jela was injured for a while last season. ha, how embarrassing for yous.

Agree2 Disagree3

Being skint is embarassing.having players fund their own transfer to you is embarassing.getting suspended from the stock exchange is embarassing.having diddies like broadfoot, edu, whittaker, aluko and healy in your team,is embarassing.being a rangers supporter is embarassing.

Agree16 Disagree0

And you talking like Embarrassing, they've won 3in a row with them all playing, thinking before you speak.
