Awright Ed, how goes it? Just thinking about our striker options here - stokes, bangura, murphy all injured, plus I hear Hooper was carrying an injury last night (prob why he didn't feature) I suppose the gaffer could play gorgeous george up front. The reality is we are thin on striking options. Do you think NL will bring Tony Watt back into the first team squad? Or would NL maybe tempted to go back in for McFadden? Personally my nose is still out of joint as we know he knocked us back to join everton. Not even sure if he's the answer anyway. We need a Chris Sutton type centre forward, and old fashioned centre forward. Ian L {Ed007's Note - I would rather see Watt in the squad than Murphy any day Ian. As far as I'm concerned McFadden's career is finished, his injuries have caught up with him and he would offer absolutely nothing to our squad IMO.}

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Aye your prob right about McFadden, think his best days are behind him, he was more or less begging us to make an approach for him. Let's get young Tony Watt in the squad again, we've seen what he can do already. In an ideal world he would prob stay in the dev squad a little longer...but needs must. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know who told daryl murphy he was a striker? I shouldn't have even included him when I was talking about 'strikers' NL got set up with that one. As for Bangura....I really want him to come good but I've not seen one positive in any of his performances, his injury record has been terrible since he signed. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd try murphy as central defender like Martin O'Neil did with sutton...........sorry I tried to be serious bt murphy should not be in a celtic shirt for anything, give watt a chance. if we need to or spend some money

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcfadden would maybe be worth a short term pay as you play deal to prove his fitness if he can't nothing lost but if he is then Celtic would have a guy who has played at the to level for nothing

Watched Helsingborg game today they won quite comfortably they are no mugs and it will be a hard game away for us I just hope the players don't think we are already in the champ league and take there eye off the ball. Sweden haven't had a team in the champs league for 10years and helsingborgs will be determined to change this.

Can i pick your brain ed?at old firm games at paradise,we always gave them a sizeable away ticket allocation.how would it go now if we got drawn against THE rangers in a cup competition,home or away.what are the minimum tickets we would be required to give,and receive,bearing in mind they are now a div 3 team.and a new team at that?artybhoy {Ed007's Note - Under SFA rules Arty the visiting team is entitled to up to 20% of the capacity of the host's stadium.}

So we will take 12,000 from you then please?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd sooner pay a mil for a tin of salmon

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's a pretty useful player but not sure he'd be better than what we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet another big target man - in the Murphy / Killen mould with dreadful goal per game ratio. No thanks

Can anyone tell why we banned Hugh keveins work in London ad I think I missed the story thanks Hail Hail

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Was to do with comments he made during his match report from inter Milan pre season game. Spoke about empty seats and if their had been a few new faces - there wouldn't have been empty seats.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cos he's a t!t

Picked up an album from The Green Brigade datedfrom 1968. Does anyone know if this is worth anything ? {Ed007's Note - Is it called The Holy Ground of Glasgow Celtic?I don't know if it is worth anything mate but I have got an album they released when we won the European Cup called that?}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Is that the one with the rosette on the cover. hail hail

Firstly, brilliant news young Dylan is flying home with the team, was worried by the lack of instant news in this day and age.Shame for the boy as he done himself a power of good in my eyes. All things considered, injuries aside,i think it was a worthwhile trip.A lot of our players have just seen the standard you face in the Champions league, and now know they have much to work on.If you let real C/L quality players,in this case Alonso, time on the ball they will cut you up with quick accurate passing.Benzema also showed young Matthews, who i am a fan of,the consequence of letting C/L seasoned players gather a ball and face you.To be fair he did cost £25 million! Lucas proved we have a good back up keeper,Ledley, who lacked his usual dynamism, put in his usual shift and Rogne will learn a lot from this.Kayal, like most of the team faded in the near 90 degree heat, but another step towards full fitness was attained. All this and £i million banked.Just a note on my own personal crusade.Young Fraser looks like a player to me,i would hope Lenny will give this kid game time soon as i think in the long run he will become, with luck, what we lost in the fantastic john Kennedy..............green jhedi

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Agree with everything other than Rogne. I hope he will learn from this; although, when he is not injured, we seem to see similar mistakes time and again.

I would say Wilson showed he can play!

Agree with u about Fraser. Really hope he gets some time in the league to prove his worth

Good news everybody, young Dylan
will fly home tonight with rest of the
Celtic squad. He requires an operation
but will be out for 4 -6 weeks, Lennon
says no head or neck injury, so although
bad it could have been much worse.
Hope to see you soon Dylan in hoops
at Paradise. hail hail Timalloy.

After watching the game yesterday, although it was a loss the team didn't play too bad. The defence was a bit sloppy for both goals. McGeough played brilliant going forward and tracking back before he got injured. But attacking you could see a target man was needed to get past the defence, that should be our number one priority I reckon to attack well in Europe. Was also good to see McGregor and Fraser get a run out. KT

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Mcgeouch has got the ability to be better than forrest, wish lennon would give him more game time

Ibrahim failed in holland and portugal.....?he aint IT.....jimthetim....ps we where crap last night, ffs it wis a friendly at least TRY AND SCORE.................

Agree0 Disagree1

Jimthetim - sorry, but most big teams struggle to score against Madrid in competitive games when it matters, let alone money spinning friendlies. Holding them to two goals when they beat Galaxy and AC Milan 5-0 in both games says something about how well we played last night. Greg.

Agree1 Disagree0

Im sorry but yeah... cos ledley never came close with a chance and others like McGeough didnt try running at the defence (world class) and the whole team was pish.....
ibrahim failed in holland and portugal? the boy is 21 years old lol, to say he failed is stupidity man. hes only played about 4 professional games in his puff. give the boy a chance. give lenny a chance and a few injuries, we shall see the lad play. im sorry but everything said there just really annoyed me. i have just quit ciggies tho
failed lol (ParadiseAndy shakes head)

Agree0 Disagree0

Under 20 squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor post Jimthetim. Team played alright against a team that beat Barcelona over a whole season. Plus with half a team and youngsters I think we did ok. Were well organized at times but you could see the difference in class. Thats why they pay players over 100,000 a week and we dont. Good outing and glad we held our own at times.

He IBRAHIM, is now in mighty jockland ffs its crap if he cant WALK IN TO OUR TEAM WHATS THE PROBLEM?ALSO I DONT THINK WE ARE ON THE SAME PLANET AS REAL BUT PLEASE DONT STAND IN A CORNER AND GET YOUR HEID KICKED IN START PUNCHING AND GET YER HEID KICKED IN.NOT MY FAVOURITE PERSON IN HISTORY....BUT .....MUSSOLLINI SAID BETTER TO LIVE 1 DAY AS A LION THAN 100 DAYS AS A SHEEP..............jimthetim

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry Skooter agree, but ffs whits the point of getting pumped every time we play in the USA? AMERICANS DONT LIKE LOOSERS SO WHY? PLAY THE MIGHTY REAL WITH A 2ND STRING? THERE USED TO BE A SAYING AT CELTIC PARK..................CELTIC DONT PLAY FRIENDLIES........jimthetim.

Agree0 Disagree1

WHY PLAY HALF A TEAM OF KIDS AGAINST REAL WHEN WE DONT HAVE THE BALLS TO PLAY THEM AGAINST THE MIGHT OF MOTHERWELL ,ABERDEEN ,DUNDEE UTD,ETC FFS AM I THE t**t?POOR POST SORRY.

Agree0 Disagree0

Peter Lawwell can think of 1 million reasons why we go and get "pumped" in america every year. Read the papers sad sack

Agree1 Disagree0

Beginning to think Jim The Tim ain't one of us, or has he just lost a bit of grey matter. We were playin REAL MADRID FFS,use your noddle and don't talk crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was wondering the same thing myself mate, one minute he's the next best thing (I've watched his vids, he's a player) and then he seems to have vanished. What's going on? We could be doing with an attacker with forrest, brown, and now young dylan bbeing out.
Greentartanhoops

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree never like to watch the hoops lose but in all honesty I would have took a 10-0 pumping to keep our team fresh and injury free for the CL game next week. I think at this time of the year I have been more impressed by our squad and play as a whole than I have in the last few years at this time. Nothing to complain about so far. Keep behind the team and with a few signings could be a very good season.

Skooter

Agree1 Disagree0

Jim The Tim, from an older tim to a younger one,1957 my first game I apologise for questioning wether you were a tim or not,but any time i read your post's your slating CELTIC. All those player's you mention in your other post ie McGrain and company aint going to happen any more' we are in a league that is not competitive enough, to warrant any player with exceptional talent to come to us. Once again I apologise for questioning you being one of us. Let's all stick together and support the CELTIC.
Tambhoy ( original )

Agree1 Disagree0

Tambhoy,i will try to be more up beat in the future, sorry for being so down.but we always mess it up still believe WE CAN GET BACK TO THE GLORY DAYS.................jimthetim....

Agree1 Disagree0

Jees some of you Bhoys have got some issues tae say the least man! I thought we were good against Real fin Madrid ya nummties! Defence looked good most of the time IMO, Mathews only had ronaldo running at him all game n if it wasn't him they were taking shots running down that wing 2nd half especially. We certainly need a few new faces n I think that was a big part of why we went there in the first place, hopefully we get someone in quickly. These Swedish lot are no mugs they've just won 7-0 ffs! So need full strength team n that's looking unlikely by most sources : /
Anyway best wishes to young Dylan. Get well soon son.

The mcgrains and mcstays are a bygone era when youth footballers stood a chance of being signed for celtic youth and climbing through the ranks. or maybe the likes of aberdeen or clyde or dundee utd( the ones who i saw scouts for at my games) now its guys like ibrahim who we sign. so for every youth foreigner thats one less scots youth who makes it. the world is what it is and we should support ibrahim with confidence even without seeing him yet as i trust my teams scouts to find youth players that are far better than the crop in this country. clearly he must be cos lets face it, if it could be done cheaper ie signing homegrown talent, celtic would do it, you know it too lol.
