Ed007 - You heard anything about a deal with Sammy going to Trabzonspor and Marc Janko coming the other way?
One of my mate txt'd me about it.
I remember that we were interested in him years ago when he was at RB Salzburg when he was banging them in but think he went off the boil since then.
Cheers!

{Ed007's Note - No.}

Cant see Sami moving to this team, they are not that great. Especially with At Madrid supposedly in talks.

Not a hope in hell that Athletico will take Sammi, far too good a side to even contemplate signing the Greek Tragedy. Stevie

Good shout GourockTim. Not sure if he's a target but he is quoted in tomorrow's papers stating he would walk to Celtic if they wanted him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bunch of quotes from Janko basically saying, he'd walk over broken glass to join Celtic now, and wishes this had turned up differently in 2009 and he'd joined then. I don't think it will go anywhere though, I think we'll end up with someone younger, I wouldn't be mad if he turned up though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think a swap deal could be one as janko scoe record s ten times better a samaras and he is on roughly same wages. sounds good buisness to me

Agree0 Disagree0

Too late Janko. Simple as that.

Agree1 Disagree0

My mate has now heard no swap deal just a straight buy.
Price he heard is £500k.
Think I'd take a chance on a player with his experience and goals record at that price.

Agree0 Disagree0

Played 194 games and is 30 years old, that ratio will only get worse now he is older. Had his chance and never took it and after seeing him struggle against us, he is not the player he was or the player we need.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dont give is the too late janko patter haha!, apparently in 2009 he had a gentlemans agreement with the chief executive at RB salsburg that he would stay for an extra year as they were the team that gave him the opportunity, it was firmly between that and not him thinking he was better than us or money or anything.
30 years of age, international striker 6ft 5 with 104 career goals in 204 apps? do we have a striker right now that's better than him? i'd sure rather take this guy who has also played in the cl for 1m or so than that waste of crap pukki or 2m man bangura the flop.
Dont tell me you wouldn't want him and finnbogasson up top nxt season if we managed to shell out and pay heerenveen the 5m or so.
stokes and pukki or janko and another striker?
i know which i'd prefer

Not "too late" as in he's had his only chance. Too late as in I'd rather just go with Amido. On a one game basis he looks the better player.

Agree0 Disagree0

We went after him TWICE & he knocked us back, despite him praising the club! He's has his chance, after all he's now a 30 year old, (no sell on value which doesn't fit into our current buying policy) he can fook right off as far as I'm concerned, Lennon should be getting the kids involved as the league is already won, that way we will know what we have coming through! & therefore hopefully saving us from enduring more of the overpriced duds we have bought recently!

Not all players signed need to have a sell on value, a couple of experienced players could be valuable to the younger players

Agree0 Disagree0

As his goal scoring record is in serious declines, he's not the answer to our need for a goal scorer, we'd be better of keeping the money in the bank & giving what we have a run.

Apparently Trabzonspor have joined Atletico in taking an interest for Sammy, his representatives have spoken with both clubs over a possible £750k deal this month? Lennon + Stromsgodset have both confirmed there's interest in £2m rated Norway international Stefan Johansen (DM) who won the Norwegian POTY award last season. There's reported interest from Roma, Villa + Everton - with John Carew strongly recommending him to former gaffer Paul Lambert. Also looks like Rogic will be allowed to move out on loan to keep his World Cup dreams alive, sadly we probably won't see or hear from him again if that's the case. Other paper talk is that we're interested in Falkirk's 19 year old Stephen Kingsley (LB).

Believable16 Unbelievable2

Johansen wouldn't be joining until next season is that right? After our European exit Lenny said we'll be seeing a lot more of Rogic. We haven't, and I'm disappointed. With his futsal background and the way the Aussie International set-up talk about him I really thought he would bring something fresh and exciting. I know there are people better qualified than me watching him everyday, but he should have had more exposure to first team footy than he's had.

It was the young Egyptian boy "Hassan" that wouldn't be joining us until next season. assuming we actually make a bid for him.

Johansen would be a signing for here and now.

Kingsley is a good young player. I've seen Falkirk a few times this season (my local team) and he's pretty much a stand out.

Don't think Carew was anywhere near Villa at the same time as Lambert so that's BS! Maceybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't put it forward to Lambert directly, but to Villa fans. Here's his Tweets from 6th January, or are you going to tell me these are BS as well?

@JCarew10: Well Villans, we should defo take a closer look at norwegian midfielder Stefan Marius Johansen, would be a good addition to our team

@JCarew10: Player Of The Year* back home, young, heart of a lion, duracell rabbit with tekkers, humble and hard working

Agree0 Disagree0

Carew's quotes are also in todays paper! Maybe a bit of research before slating other people Macey Grey!?

'strongly recommending him to former gaffer Paul Lambert'. Lambert has never been Carew's gaffer and nowhere in those tweets does he say he has recommended him to Villa. All he is saying is he rates him and would like to see Villa sign him. Larsson said he would like to see Bangura at Celtic - then the media have it that he personally recommended the player. When in truth Celtic had been watching AIK for ages. Macebhoy

Agree0 Disagree1

My opening post was supposed to say stongly recommended to old club Villa, but I was in the middle of doing something else + you can't go back and edit them once submitted. Either way, Carew thinks highly of the lad which is the point he was mentioned.

Left footed centre mid. Joe ledley replacement? Noel
