The south Korean team was told if they won the bronze they would not have 2 do national service ! Ki will b happy :)

Fullybhoy

Believable9 Unbelievable1

With that I think he would be an even bigger target knowing he doesnt have to do it. That being said I think there might be a chance of us signing him to a new contract because he has no service to do, he really has looked good and with us close to cl we may hold on to him cause he is fit for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another 3 million on to his price.

Agree0 Disagree0

He will surely be given a rest period.. maybe till end of month

Agree0 Disagree0

I have never been happy about selling Ki, he is one of the most talented young players playing in Europe and if it was not for the lack of protection given to him in the SPL he would have played many more games for Celtic. He shone against quality teams last year and adds a different dimension to the team. If he is sold I hope the board get a very good price as this bhoy is class. Sopot Celt

Stef, since 1967 is your IQ, can we expect you to start a page letting us uneducated plebs know everything that you clearly know. Must be nice letting everyone know that you are great and we are all below you. Ps, I am being sarcastic in case you didn't get it, I hear people who are so intelligent, like you, don't always get sarcasm.

Hi all, I come in peace,I'm a Gooner and just have a few questions about Wanyama. I know what it is like when a player you would like to keep ends up leaving, (we've had to contend with that for the past several years,) but could you give me your opinion on these points.
How good is he? Haven't seen much of him.
How do you think he could get on in the epl?
What are his strengths and weaknesses?
Do you think he could end up at Arsenal, and if so how much would it take to get him?
Any genuine answers to these questions would be very much appreciated.
All the best for the up'n'coming season.
Flybo :-)

Believable6 Unbelievable3

My opinion is he is better than song already and he's only 20,he's only going to get better playing with and against better players every week, this boy is going to be a star, the type of player you's have missed since viera

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy is genuine class. he is a tank when he needs to be and can play a pass or score a goal if its on. only cost us £800k last season and I think he is as good as most midfielders in the EPL. Would love him to stay but we are in the SPL which Rangers have ruined so I think £8m will be enough. He will go to Spain one day and be worth £50m

Agree0 Disagree0

He is an excellent young player who has been a bit of a stand out up here. Good passer and tackler with a physical pressence and decent engine. Love to see him stay but he seems destined for the EPL. He is worth 12-15 million..so we'll probably take 8

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate IMO he is going to be the best dm in the world in a few years such a class act!
I hate the thought of loosing him but he will cost over 10m if not we are robbing ourselfs! Goes foward very well and always looks in space and unnerved.

Brian

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama is a strong midfielder and a great tackler which wouldallowwilshere the freedom to push on if he gets fit. He is far too good for Scottish football young man who could only flourish under winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Wanyama is a class act, probably the best centre midfielder we've had since stan petrov. He is very strong for a young man, appears to have an old head on his shoulders. Very comfortable in possession. I think Celtic will sell for 7-8m with a sell on fee

Agree0 Disagree0

Pressed wrong button - I am hoping we get into the group stages of the champions league and he stays for another year. Ian L

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for your time guys. Very much appreciated. Flybo

Agree1 Disagree0

He is good, could do a job in the premiership. He is very strong, good passer and reads the game well. His main weaknesses are that he is a raw talent and can be naive with some of his challenges. Has the potential to develop into a great player, would be sorry to see him go but reallistically Celtic couldn't refuse any bids of £10m +

DG81

Agree0 Disagree0

Class act would probably take van persie and £5m and you could have him.

Briggs ( sitting in the garden with the chiminea roaring any the beer flowing!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Qualify for champs league he will stay...if not will go but some advice for Mr Lawell....sell on clause! Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi mate. Wanyama is a quality player and will definitely blossom into one of Africa's top players within the next few years. His form at the start of this season his dipped but that is understandable as he has been linked with moves to many clubs down South. Wanyama is composed on the ball and can play at centre back or in centre midfield, although centre mid is his preferred position. He is a likable character and I'm sure if he did go to Arsenal that your supporters would warm to him very quickly. One of his weaknesses is that he sometimes makes poor decisions and his tackling can be rash. However, after watching Victor's performances in the Europa League last year against top quality teams, I am sure he can perform at the highest level in English football. To get our man I reckon you would need a bid in excess of £10m. Celtic picked him up for £900k and we have found this to be an absolute bargain.

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy will go on to be world class and considering the money they pay for diddies like carrol we should take no less than £10 to £15 million .

Agree0 Disagree0

Flybo, I am also a Gooner...honest! Luv Arsenal (Not as much as Celtic) but have been a fan since 1988. Wanyama looks class up here. He is a big, strong boy who can hold his own.....problem is he is untested in a top league.....however what I would say is this, given some of the transfer fees going around just now....anything less than £9m and you can forget it. Beleive me, we r quite happy to keep him. God bless Celtic and Arsenal!

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor is a very good player just now with real potential but still rough around the edges. Needs to learn not to dive into tackles (see red cards v Rangers and Helsinki). If we qualify for CL group stage Victor will be going nowhere. If not and we do sell around £8 million would get him with at least a 25% sell on clause. Hbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we decided to sell i dont think arsenal would be in the hunt the big spenders in the epl would edge them out, and with the boy moura going to psg i can see ferguson making a move for him , i personally would put a 20 million price for him because being in the spl has no bearing on how good a player he is, arsenal want him to replace song and instead of mvilla both priced more than vic and he is better than both now ,,,,deep river bhoy {Ed007's Note - The only way Man Utd will get involved is if their attempts to sign Axel Witsel fails.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure he'd want to leave us but you could try offering Van Persie for him

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if Joe Allen is worth £15m then double it for big Vic. But seeing as his plays in Scotland i'm sure English arrogance will surface and we'll de expected to sell for about £3m.

Agree0 Disagree0

The boy is a class act, would flourish in SPL, I think another season with the hoops and teams from Spain will be looking at him surprised barca ain't looking at him....after all they want song, and I rate big vic higher than song.... Vic in still young and I agree in a few years time with the right clubs and managers looking after him, he will Defo be best dm/m in the world.. He's that good already the only way is up for him! Wouldnt want him to go, but if a wee 15-20 mil bid came in I'd let him go and become world class! If Liverpool will pay 35m for diddy Carroll we shouldn't expect any less than 15m for vic!

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor does the simple things well. His passing is never Hollywood balls, but the simple ones to keep possession and spray the ball around. Great strength and stamina and still 20. For his age he is amazing at breaking up the play in his own half and going forward he is more dangerous than our defence - minus Mulgrew. For the game he plays, he does everything brilliantly. However, he needs to mature in his tackling when chashing the ball as he tends to be off of timing and picks up needless cards. He's better than you've had in Song and he's far better than Yann M'Vila. In any other league he would be worth 15-20 million, but due to him being here then teams will only value him at 7-10 which is a massive injustice. He will be one of the best in the World in a few years. Greg.

Agree0 Disagree0

To op,aye Wanyama is a class act but fur fuk sake troops, I thought I was reading about ZIDANE with half those blinkered eyed posts. JW80

Agree0 Disagree0

Ill say one thing... slick vic is superb. not in anyway shape or form like zidane but if u want a stalwart defender or a resolute midfielder then under the right guidance this youngman may just become one of the most recognised names in the game
all the best to vic wherever he goes, just hope he stays at the hoops. valuation £8-12 million and thats a bargain
ParadiseAndy

Agree0 Disagree0

Joe Allen 15 mill andy carrol 35 mill jordan henderson 20 mill(I think) Stuart downing 20mill the reason the transfer fee was so high is the fact they are English players well joe Allen is welsh but swansea are and english registered club he's played there since 2007 making him a home grown English player so basically the high transfer fee for Victor would only happen if he was English wee would be lucky for 6/7 million although he's worth more in my opinion,

According to TV Huddersfield knock back £2m bid for Jordan Rhodes from Blackburn

Believable4 Unbelievable3

We should go in with £3m or £4m with some add ons. would tear SPL up and get us past Helsingborg no problems

Agree0 Disagree0

H/field have stated that a £4m offer is on the table from B/burn. The h/field chairman has said that Rhodes will be going no where as no club has come anywhere close to making an acceptable bid. I would think we would need to bid nearer £6-8mil to get him and thats not going to happen. Hbhoy {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't believe the prices getting bandied about for Rhodes too seriously Hbhoy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's the case Ed and we could get him for around £4m would snap him up. Would probably mean that Stokes would be surplus. Hbhoy {Ed007's Note - All this talk of £8 million deals to mediocre clubs is all just nonsense. CFC have as much chance of signing him as any the teams that have shown any concrete interest. Look at Blackburn's situation just now, the owners don't know if they want to own the club, the fans are protesting every game to sack the manager and for the owners to sell the club. He would need to be off his head to even consider moving to them, especially if they don't get promoted, he would bear the brunt of that.. West Ham don't have a pot to pi$$ in, they even made up a story about trying to sign Jelavic to try and win their fans over and BFS's style of football neither suits Rhodes or is going to help move his career on by fighting relegation. Fulham can offer him good money and a mid-table EPL comfort zone. CFC can offer him playing for a higher profile club, European football, trophies every year, keep him in the international set up and the chance to further his career by attracting higher levels of interest. At his age he could play up here for 3/4 years, raise his profile no end and then move on and still be only 25/26. Sorry, rant over buddy.}

Great move in the pricing policy for the Helsingborgs game.Lets get these snapped up Bhoys and Ghirls, more income even before, hopefully, we qualify for the Big League.Just had a look at the potential third pots, man, some scary teams even in there! However,we are young, learning all the time and it might be the making of us.It also raises the profile,as does tomorrows game.Let us all play our part, who knows what might happen?Come on you boys in Green!..........green jhedi

Believable7 Unbelievable1

There is something special about the team and I feel deeply that we will make a lot of noise and open ppls eyes, Lennon is the perfect man for the job and has developed a great squad and he will make sure the players do the club right. I also think big ff will prove to ppl that Lennon was right in wanting him cause I feel he will stand tall and keep us in it.
I hope we go through cause I will fly across the sea to get the feel of the European nights at Celtic park. Its just the beginning as a wise man said and the future looks bright lets just keep the focus on Celtic.

Wow! If we get thru we could be in real trouble! Would def have to sign at least two big names if we got in there. Or it could be embarrassing ! HH

Agree0 Disagree0

IF we get through, in all honesty it doesn't really matter if we lose every game in the Group Stages, although I don't believe that would happen. The aim this year was to get back into the CL and if we can beat Helsingborgs over the two legs than that is a massive achievement. I suspect we would go into pot 4 but there is no reason why we can't beat some of the teams in the pots above. I mean we ran Inter Milan extremely close at Parkhead and should have beaten them a couple of weeks ago. I wouldn't worry too much about who we get if we do qualify for the CL. The aim should be 3rd place so we can go on a run in the Europa League. HH!

Agree0 Disagree0

The teams in this competiton are excellent. This is where we want to be. As for results I would expect us to do very well at home to any team. For me if we do qualify we should aim to get to the last 16. Hbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Holy Burritos!

i hope all you bhoys and ghirls use the celtic store for club merchandise. rather than , oh off the top of my head, sports direct or jjb . that would be sending your hard earned in the wrong direction.. shamrock

Believable15 Unbelievable2

I used to work for JJB. still get discount. I'll still be getting it there

samson

Agree0 Disagree1

Jjb haven't had a penny off me or my family since they got into bed with the dark side....sports direct will be the same

taco

Agree1 Disagree0

Jjb no longer have a deal with rangers its now sports direct

sweeney 007

Agree1 Disagree0

I spent 60 quid on the new long sleeved home top, was a tenner cheaper in other shops including jjb, but no chance is anyone getting my money apart from Celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Taco . Official Club merchandise should be bought from Superstore and official outlets . Nothing - not even a pair of Sport socks from Sports Direct. Does Ashley realise how much business he is going to lose by associating himself and his Company to Scotland's Shame ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bought myself, son and daughter the Hoops just last week at Tic store. Cost £5 dearer than elsewhere but my £'s go to Celtic FC. I might add my weans (23yrs and 34yrs) are season book holders as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

You bhoys have got to grow up. This is why most of Scotland laugh at Glasgow. Regardless of who sells the merchandise it's a business. The fact that you are willing to spend more in the celtic stores is admirable but your team knows the advantage of selling in bulk to a much bigger national sports store at discount. So why not ask your board of directors to boycott selling to sports direct and lets see what they're answer would be, f*** off probably. Funny that you would like to kill off another revenue stream weird. Anyway, why not look at the bigger picture and rather than constantly looking in the past, look to the future. I mean you have been banging on The Rangers are a new team, they have no history etc so why does it bother you? Or do they keep they're history through association and constantly making comments as if they are still here. It seems to me the celtic support doesn't really know what they want, I mean if Rangers didn't exist then what would you have to complain about a new club a new history, no more sectarianism etc. But with your comments today it looks like this old fashioned bigotry is still there. My god you got your wish but as vic reeves would say....you wouldn't let it lie! {Ed007's Note - It is nothing to do with the club selling strips to Sport Direct, that is Nike that do that. I have no idea what the rest of your post has to do with this thread though. }

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh ed I understand that. But do celtic not receive a huge sponsorship endorsement by letting nike sell their image? And surely your board would have some sort of rights on where they'd like it sold? I'll let you answer that, but really the same difference. My bottom post is all about perception and mindset, if you didn't hate the other side of your city so much would you then decide to shop at sports direct? The main reasoning I can see is that its because they are aligned with Rangers, that's why celtic fans are not shopping at sports direct, your own fans have said so in this thread have they not? Why not boycott tennents and not go to t in the park or if nike decided to offer rangers a deal in the future would you boycott your own strip lol . Come on ed you know what I mean, surely you understand. {Ed007's Note - I think every body should buy direct from the club no matter what team you support, you are maximising the income to your club by doing so. The 'boycott' of anything to do with your rivals isn't exclusive to Glasgow. Not many Sunderland strips or tops are sold by Sports Direct annually since the Mackems also boycott Sports Direct, it is just part and parcel of the parochial football in general.}

CELTIC have submitted plans to demolish a listed former school next to their stadium and replace it with a superstore, museum, theatre, cafe and ticket offices.

The club want to knock down the Edwardian B-listed London Road Primary School as part of their plan to regenerate the area in time for the Commonwealth Games.

The proposal also includes the formation of a landscaped avenue, essentially a wide walkway leading from a revamped Dalmarnock railway station, past several key 2014 venues, to Celtic Park.

Parkhead is hosting the 2014 Games opening ceremony, which will be attended by the Queen.

The club submitted a masterplan, dubbed The Celtic Triangle, almost three years ago with a view to enhancing the area around the ground.

Helsingborgs is a tough tie and I hope we add a couple of quality additions to strengthen, as we are still early on in the season and a few players have yet to peak.
With Euro football a certainty in some form it should be a factor in attracting good players.
I know The Celtic have always been associated with Glamour Friendlies/Testimonials, but I really hope we don't get a hammering from the classy Madrid team.
The drubbing away to Ajax was bad enough and it may harm moral to take a heavy beating IMO.

delighted with draw, Helsinbergs should be beatable, glad to avoid Cluj after thier exploits a few seasons ago and would have been trickier, and Limassol was a banana skin aftet what Apoel did last season and i dreaded that tie, maribor i would have taken, and since i dont know much about the Isreali side in a way glad to avoid them, so overall its a winnable tie, we know about them and scandanavian teams are usually well organised and physical, again they are half way through season, but now with a few competitive games ourselves we will be more than ready for this tie and can only see a huge improvement over the Helsinki games, and i fancy us to get the away goal as well

Good Morning ED007, just wanted to
give a plug on here for Sell Out Saturday
I am taking my two nephews to the
game at Cappielaw, Morton v Livingstone
(team plays in hoops ha ha)
I hope all other Tims will support one
of the smaller teams, if you cannot
manage along bhoys, send a wee donation
to your local team, even a fiver can
make a difference. hail hail Timalloy

Oh get a grip honestly, you should be supporting your local team instead of glory hunting. If Morton is your local team why do you support Celtic? Scottish football would be in a better state if everyone supported their local team. Raith fan her by the way before I get the usual lot thinking i'm a gers fan.

Starky {Ed007's Note - Really? Strange that you also posted as Stegco a Rangers fan in another post.}
