I see we only have four (weekend) fixtures in March - obviously no European game - I take it there's a bloody International break soon?
If so I hope we tell big EBT where to go, especially with players struggling for fitness.
There's far more important things to concentrate on than risking injury and wasting energy for that dick.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2019 21:12:42
You can guarantee Mr EBT will pick Christie and McGregor and play them the week before we play Sevco.
He will say the Scotland Team Medical Staff have said they're fit to play.

Is the Celtic physio not Scotland's as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Is it not still Michael McBride who's at Chesterfield, Scunthorpe or some other wee diddy team that works for SFA? Tim Williamson is still our physio.}

10 Mar 2019 08:49:50
Ed am sure a read big Kennedy saying the other day that if ebt took our players that are just coming back there was no issue because our physio works for Scotland and knows the players better than anybody.

What is it with Hibs fans now. It's getting out of hand. No player should be attacked irrespective of leanings. Sinclair then Tavernier (admittedly more serious) . What's happening to football?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2019 18:09:52
Always amazing to me I’d situations like these are taken so seriously now but when Lennon was physicaly attacked on the pitch five years ago by a baby want to be person and griffiths booked for picking up a bottle thrown at him while taking a corner against linfield was treated as football banter πŸ₯΄. I assume you protested then?

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Mar 2019 18:11:38
Not an excuse for the idiot . but he never actually attacked tavernier he tried to kick the ball away. why? probably steaming. but his actions did nearly caused a physical confrontation. what's happened in the last few weeks has been unsavoury. but it isn't a reflection of the supporters here. scottish football is as safe and as sanitised as I can remember .

I thought that with Neil Lennon back in charge, and with injuries in midfield, we might have seen Scot Allan get a game, don't understand how Bitton gets a game in midfield, not a fan of his, and think he is better as an emergency centre back and not a lot else.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Mar 2019 18:35:50
Biton is a stop-start slow-tempo guy who is fine when you're winning 5-0 but not when we needed a goal and a bit more pace and drive.
I know we are down to the bare-bones in midfield right now, but an extra forward in a home game would have maybe been a better idea?

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Mar 2019 20:59:23
Biton has a great eye for a long pass and should stay as long as he can.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 09:43:34
Scott Allen has never been at a level where he is good enough for Celtic. Not in bitons league.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 11:48:57
Celtics midfield will starved of creativity and slow of movement, if Biton continues to back a part of it .

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Mar 2019 20:03:36
With 4 very decent midfielders out injured and each of them a certain amount of creativity it's no surprise we suffered . I am not sure Lennon wants to play Briton and Brown but needs must . Henderson can play part of 3 men midfield and do it well, but I doubt if he would be effective as part of a two man midfield.

Huge missed opportunity today to put league to bed.

09 Mar 2019 17:57:04
It could have been worse - given Fridays score, but it was a great chance for clear daylight and ending any wishful thinking.
I think there was possibly a reaction to the past weeks events as the players have been running on adrenalin and emotions are high.
However, we had more than enough of the ball but couldn't create an awful lot or the final ball/ pass was missing today.
KT is still finding his fitness and we are missing the creative craft of a Cal-Mac, Christie or Rogic, although we should have had more than enough to win this game today.
A wee reminder of the effort, imagination and composure that's needed every week but no time for panic as the other teams will all take points off each other as has happened so often.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Mar 2019 18:56:10
When you think Sinclair weah Burke Forrest eddy were all on the pitch at some point today and still couldn't get the elusive goal but Callum and rogic are major misses as is Christie.

Hi ed hope u are well, quick question.
I am a big fan of Burke and I am wondering could we go for him.
I realise 10-12m is not our usual price tag but while I don't want to lose him it looks like Ntcham is off.
Possible 10-12m for Ntcham so would be a free really and we still have 50m in the bank.
Whats your thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I can't see us signing Burke permanently unless WBA do us a turn on the fee but I don't see him having much of a future down there either. If Matt Phillips is keeping him out a Championship team what chance does Burke have of getting into a PL team if WBA go up?}

09 Mar 2019 21:54:39
West Brom manager has been sacked so that may aid our chances of getting him as I know Darren Moore said he wanted him back for next season.

Ed do you know what the total outlay was on Burke for Weat Brom? The figures I read were around 15 Million but not sure if that was an upfront cost or total cost including clauses ie if they return to the premiership etc. Probably clutching at straws but hopefully if they recovered most of their outlay they would be keen to do business as the boy is a baller and I think he would only get better with more games under his belt and being a key player in a winning team.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The money is of no relevance.}

10 Mar 2019 02:25:48
Cheers ed002, I'm confused what you mean by that though as ed007 just stated West Brom would need to do us a turn on the fee for a permanent move to be possible, suggesting money would be relevant.
Are you of the opinion that a permanent move is out of the equation overall? Or, if the player asks to move that West Brom would put a price on his head and it's up to Celtic to see if they can afford it?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - what he was saying is that it doesn't matter how much they paid, it only matters how much they are asking. Clubs do not base asking price on the amount a player cost them, they base asking price on how much they think they can get for him when trying to get rid.}

09 Mar 2019 14:16:35
Good Afternoon Ed, hope all is well. I'm not sure if this has every cane up among our posters but does anyone play Fifa 19 Ultimate Team. My mrs got me a PS4 for my Xmas and even at 32 years of age I still like a game now and again. I even got my old PlayStation gamer tag back from the ps2 days! My gamer tag is King_Prawn_67 and I'm happy for any of the Celtic posters to add it for a game. (Dunno if I'm allowed to post my gamer tag or not) . HH.

{Ed007's Note - I tried to get a FIFA 19 FUT league going but sadly it didn't work out. I've added you to the FR FIFA Group on the PS too.

We also have a video games page mate which used to be busy until everyone went into hiding rather than play each other lol:

{Ed007's Note - Oooftt I can only dream about getting Gold 3!! I try and get Silver 1 to get enough points to qualify for next weekend's and then I'm happy. I've played the whole 30 games a couple of times and the best I done was 13 wins.
As you can guess I'm not exactly challenging the pro players πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Whilst I'd happily take burke and weah the defence is an absolute priority imo.

Everyone knows what today starting lineup will be if Burke has fully recovered {I hope Weah may get a chance if he is unfit}
But who would you put on the bench,
Gordon, Hayes yes but Commper Allan Rogic Griffiths plus two youngsters Johnston and a. n. other Aitchson Oko Flex or Dembele love to see Ralston there if he is back in training.

My team would be:

Bain

Toljan Boyata Ajer Tierney

Brown Henderson Bitton

Forrest Edouard Sinclair

Subs: Gordon, Lustig, Benkovic/ Simunovic, Rogic/ Johnstone, Ntcham/ Allan, Weah, Burke/ Bayo

Think Lennon will go for something similar, although we might see Lustig in ahead of Toljan. Where I have listed two players is on account of one of the players being doubtful.

The only reason I have included Allan is we have a lot of midfielders out just now.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Mar 2019 12:22:26
Do ye think we will see commper before end of season. Did something happen between himself and Rogers. As he never had a look in even with all the injuries. Lennon said he was impressed with him in the reserves game. He could be a decent back or not. Would like to see him when the league is won to know what he is like.

Some great (and silly) comments being made about some supporters actions at football games. I won't repeat all the points made as it is obvious that the majority of us recognise the problem and the need to do something about it.
How many of us have watched the documentaries on the admin and liquidation of rangers with the voice over telling us all about who did what and where etc. etc.?
I for one, do not want to be watching a documentary in 5 years time and some voice over telling us how
"Celtic, having won the treble treble, were then going for a record 10 in a row. Then some idiots ran onto the park and Celtic then had to play games behind closed doors along with a points reduction. This, along with coin throwing and pyrotechnics being thrown on to the field of play, cost them what would have been an amazing achievement. "
Some idiot tosses a coin, some idiot tosses a flare etc. SOME one sees them. If the witness (es) do nothing then they are condoning the actions and basically showing their contempt to the Club, players and supporters.
We, the supporters, have a duty as well.

tiny tim. excellent post mate we need to open our eyes to what the establishment will do to us to stop us getting 10 iar so come on true CELTIC fans don't give them the opportunity to hurt us.

With big changes expected in the summer here's a possible outcome for ins and outs and possible team for next season.
Just my opinion so interested to hear everyone elses.

OUT
Gordon
Hendry
Ntcham
Morgan
Rogic
Commper
Bitton
Approx Β£20m in on transfer fees

EXPIRED CONTRACT/ RELEASED
Lustig
Gamboa
Boyata
Hayes
Izzy
Mulumbu
Benyu
Allen

LOANS RETURNING
Benkovic
Toljan
Weah
Burke

LOANED OUT
Kouassi
Bayo

I've counted 21 players that could possible leave in the summer
Out of the 21 i've mentioned above the only players I would keep are boyata if he somehow signed a contract and benkovic and weah but only if we could get them permanently. I'm not a fan of these loan deals as although it's a quick fix at the time it leaves a bigger rebuild every season end which will be evident at the end of of this season.
Looking through the names above it just shows how much dead wood there is and the amount of money being wasted on wages is crazy. There must be about Β£150-200k pw being spent on the above players wages and in all honesty would any of them be a big miss?

Now onto the possible squad we could have come September

Bain
New gk to rival bain
Hazard

New RB
Ralston
Perez
New CB
New CB
Ajer
Simunovic
Guttman
Tierney
LB cover
Mcgregor
Christie
Brown (I think depending on new manager brown may eave/ retire depending on who manager is)
Henderson
New CM
Forrest
Sinclair (same as brown, depending on who manager is weather he will stay)
Shved
Dembele
Oko flex
Johnston
Miller
Arzani (I hope we can somehow make his loan permanent because the boy looks like he could be world class)
New AMF
Edouard
Griffiths (I still think he's our best striker if he can get himself sorted out but again could be off depending on who manager will be)
New striker

I've counted 8 new players we will probably need in
Gk
Rb
Cb x2
Lb
Cm
Amf
CF

That leaves approximately 20 out with about 8 in. I understand it's very unrealistic but it's probably what's needed. Our squad is clearly far too big and in desperate need of a major overhaul and below is a potential line up we could maybe have in a season or 2

Bain

New Rb New Cb Ajer tierney (c)

New Cm Mcgregor

Shved dembele arzani

Edouard

New gk
Ralston
New Cb
Henderson
Oko flex
Johnston
New Cf

Despite the massive overhaul needed, at the same time it can't be overlooked at how much young talent we still have on our books many of whom are about to breakthrough into the starting 11 over the next season or two. All the below are 21 or younger

Tierney
Ralston
Ajer
Henderson
Arzani
Dembele
Calvin miller (if given a fair chance at his real position)
Oko flex
McInroy
Atchison
Edouard (yes he's just recently turned 21. Considering his age some of the stick he gets from some fans is uncalled for)

Regardless of who the manager will be come the summer, they will be well aware the squad numbers need drastically cut but they will soon know that with the amount of young talent already at the club most of the talent needed to push us on is already on our doorstep.

Obviously there will be disagreements on this post but looking forward to hearing some views.

Not Bad but you forgot Dvries out and Bitton Hendry and Hayes unlikely to leave. Commper will only go if someone offers him more money again unlikely. Gutman should provide cover at LB and I expect Weah and Burke to return either permenently or on loan depending on CL qualifacation. It could also be a makeor break season for Kouassi and Morgan.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Mar 2019 11:23:59
Can't see Kouassi or Morgan making it with us. Rather than buying 2 or 3 risky signings I would use transfer fees in and saved wages to get Burke. Right age, loves club, bags of potential, will scare the st! t of the mobs defence. No brainer for me. And he can make it happen by doing a "Van Dyke" . He made it clear to Southampton it was Liverpool or nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Mar 2019 15:42:11
Would like money spent on 2 x CB and a RB. With the outgoings we can always loan a decent winger, CM and LB as cover. Although on his day Ntcham is a baller but his sale could cover most of our outlay. New manager in would probably want to keep hold of him and may get the best out of him. He's not the best domestically as he's too slow on the ball but suits European games.
