more of the subs he used in the big switch should be starters. hoping he may of been resting them so they get a bit more game time in the qualifier.

Forrest and rogic were good.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 21:13:24
Forrest crosses were terrible Mr green under hit or over hit his passes went behind our men which is a pity as he made some decent forward runs.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 22:06:47
DRB: true, however the real problem is this. right footed on left and vice versa, so unless you have a great left foot to put the crosses in you have cut inside every time, and if the full back is in any way clever he will know this and force you onto your week foot every time.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 22:09:53
His crosses would be better if he was on the right plus it's pre season players need time to get things up to speed.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 22:40:31
Drb it's pre season and it takes a bit of time to get up to speed plus he's right footed would be better suited on the right hh.

Rogic was very good when he came on forrest took a shot that went for a throw in enough said about him the better any word on rogic getting a new contract signed?

10 Jul 2016 08:22:46
That was there 4th pretty season game and the qualifiers are on Tuesday so they should all be upto speed just now.

My Dad is pals with a fitness coach at Celtic and apparently he is just thick as mince. It's not through any lack of try apparently he just cannot follow simple instructions.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 19:36:30
Fitness coaches have never been noted for using their brain intelligently .
The strange thing I find is that forum posters know more than any of the last three Managers and their assistants about which is the correct side to play Forrest.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 20:07:56
Team I'd like to see start in midweek
Gordon
Lustig
Shevvy
Ajer
Tierney
Christie
Mgregor
Brown
Armstrong
Biton
Griff

I don't think dembele is ready to lead line yet. let the league start and ease him in. and to move griff out wide is a waste of our top scorer. Christie I think has looked sharper than roberts so far. brown ahead of biton for his leadership and he has looked fitter and more mobile as has armstrong . mgregor our best passer in mid imo and I think he reads and moves the game well. rogic looked great last season in behind Griffs . and Griffs 40 goals our main striker.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

09 Jul 2016 20:38:00
Griffiths will play up top of its 1!
Dembele will and can play wide all day long, and it won't be like squeezing players in to suit i. e. Armstrong who should be centre and will play there for years to come if he gets a shot?
If it's the same as last season, wide players need to have goals or don't play it at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 01:39:41
Crazy you didn't pick dembele and to be honest your reason is shite. you do know who we are playing? Why break him into league but not this game . this team wouldn't challenge in our league . to many people trying to think like managers . You have to put in a player you think is going to be. Massive factor for how we play this season . Rest him till he's ready? If he's not ready he's not good enough . Ridiculous assessment drb.

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 07:19:30
Rogic has to start best player in hoops by far today and with less than 40 minutes on the field more shots on target than the whole team had the previous 60 minutes.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 08:51:53
How is it razy Bobby ball if we don't win these qual no cl football. bezt team for these games and if lucky to be up 4-0or so at ht bring him on . do yoru want him ayi g because of the dou le hat trick a nd 4 sssists he's got so far? n. o keeper has made a save from dembele in
Pre season . he hasn't had a shot or header on target . I fact I don't think k he hit the ball towards goal once . I didn't say rest him I said ease him in. he's done nothing to justify inclusion whereas rogic has and has played well behind Griffs last season. grift a 40 hoal striker moving out wide to accommodate a you g boy who is yet to prove himself nowthat is ridiculous. .

10 Jul 2016 13:30:14
Wrong he had a shot last night on target aftera nice lay off from Janko.

09 Jul 2016 19:59:18
Not enough penetration.
Rogic should be a starter.
Can't see the fuss people are making about Janko. Unconvinced he is a defender.

There is no fuss Kev, it opinions, and mine matches yours!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 21:02:21
Janko bombed past their LB a few times but wasn't picked out. He played a good ball to Dembele who didn't finish. In terms of getting forward, which they will be encouraged to do in that set up, he'll be fine. They got in behind him a couple times though and a better side would cause us problems.

Only caught the last 20 mins after taking my wee squad out for a slap up after working them too hard all week and giving them two of them time aff to go to see the Celtic on Tuesday (y)

Don't like this set up 433 with this set of players . ypung dembele has to yet prove his worth and is leading the line with our top scorer out wide mostly out of the game . midfield (brown biton johanson) as last year too slow to move the ball hopefully it's just a try out and not starting line up / system for season ahead as I think we could struggle as oppossitìon gets better in cl ties . hopefully lustig is back fit soon as janko is nowhere near as good as him.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

09 Jul 2016 18:42:05
Can someone tell me how johannsen starts in front of rogic! It's like johannsen has picked up from where he left off last season, totally anonymous in the games so far! Rogic or Allan should be miles ahead of him! Griffiths on the right hand side aswell is a strange one!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

09 Jul 2016 19:01:33
Because it's a pre season friendly

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jul 2016 19:24:18
Think we will see that in the settled 11. Dembele as more of a target man than LG. Not sure how they will all fit in unless we go with 2 up top in a 442. Roberts rm and a lm that can cover KT when he attacks?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 19:24:48
Although it's a pre season game it's the last one before Lincoln game this will be his formation . LG is wasted out wide . I would rather a 4 3 1 2 with rogic behind the front 2.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 19:39:31
What the first half proved is that Brown Biton and Johansen shouldn't be on the same pitch together again but we knew that last season, hopefully BR can see this unlike his predecessor

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 19:45:27
Wouldn't mind that formation dempsey. 2 defensive mids with Roberts on right, Rogic linking with LG and dembele.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 19:55:33
Dembele has looked what he is a young man learning his trade . he has shown nothing in pre season to deserve to lead our attack .

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 19:57:01
If ajer hits the ground running then for me there is only room for one of them. I don't want the same mf line up next year, it wasn't working.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 20:31:50
Aye good answer Stevie, must racked your brains thinking up that one! A didn't realise it was a pre season friendly either, Thanks for letting me know!

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 00:50:33
Griffiths maybe wasted out on the right, but remember he scored our last two goals coming in from the right on Wednesday night . It could well be he needs more time perfecting the role that B R has for him . IMO Dembele is likely to be our first choice in the centre and we need ( another ) goalscorer up front some where with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 08:54:14
He's a youngster just starting so why move our main striker until we know this bhoy is capable of a similar return.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 10:52:01
We've moved a 40 goal striker to put dembele in centre now you want another striker to help him . is this other striker going to play wide left?

I see GMS is out in the papers today saying that he played injured last season. Add that to Armstrong saying the same last week, Brown being rushed back early, Johansen struggling with a hip injury, Lustig the same and Jozo playing with a broken bone in his knee.

Considering at one time that could have been half a team is it any wonder we were so poor last season?

Also with the number of midfielders on our books it is unforgivable for guys to play injured and not do their best when there are so many other players to come in.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2016 11:48:09
If that was the case then the club medical staff need talking to. Players should also declare themselves unfit, managment should never let players play injured either. So we were rotten off the pitch aswell as on it.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 12:03:56
Managers will always let a player play injured if he thinks it is best for team.

Agree0 Disagree4

09 Jul 2016 12:13:01
The diet consultant was not all he seemed to be, infact he was nowhere near what he seemed to be. Building a team of cloned super strong athletes seems now but a pipedream. Thank your gods that experiment had been shelved.

Agree1 Disagree3

09 Jul 2016 12:54:12
Why/ how is that a pipedream TTTS? If more of our players have it in their routine and mentality from an earlier age there's no reason it can't work. And anybody that can't adjust their attitude towards diet, for their own progress and career, probably aren't ideal professionals to have around anyway.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jul 2016 13:05:44
Sounds like GMs making excuses for poor performances, Johansen was out injured and failed 2 recapture his full fitness however still played well enuff, certainly better than some and his work rate is 2nd to none. Jozo played injured unknowingly, and didn't play after realising the issue, as for lustig he has ongoing issues so wouldn't class him in that category. Brown and Armstrong are workman like players that graft and Rd felt we needed that type in the team, for me injured or not you play and you still give 100%, if you aren't able to then the player has to say to the manager. This drives me crazy, you play football your whole life n some get 2 Celtic or whoever they sign for and it's like I didn't play good as I was injured, I can't play in a 4231 as I don't know where to stand or I'm being played on the left when I want to start central or the trainings 2 hard for me or I'm not chasing back I'm a forward etc etc I could go on but it's embarrassing. At least Rd took the brunt of the so called blame, despite many others failing him. Ah to be back in a time where football was proper n players weren't pansies and all about money.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2016 13:29:25
Is ridiculous to say, that you play injured or not, total madness, not only is the player risking long term incapacity after his playing career is finished, if your injured, you are a weak link in the team.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 14:51:18
In my opinion, we should be slow to either endorse or condemn the players who played or were required to play whilst not fit . We have no idea of the extent of the injuries last season, or the long term consequences of playing through the injury.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 15:03:39
I'm talking about the deila experience Jim Tim, it was a disaster from day 1.This is what this guy claimed to be his niche. We are now hearing of teams going on to the pitch with unfit players. So it is as plain as black and white that RD and HIS ideology were but a pipedream he was never in a position to deliver.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Jul 2016 15:54:47
The bottom line for me is that you aren't fit you can't give 100% and you are short changing yourself as a player and the fans.

It could be an excuse for poor performances as someone suggested but with 17 midfielders on our books we can't say that any of these guys needed to play injured.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 17:21:10
I M O I find it hard to count 17 midfielders in our squad . I have often seen us with a thin enough squad of midfielders for particular games .

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 17:26:39
Guys managers play unfit players all the time.
Martin oneill played big mjallby on injections all the time.
Can mind him rushing agathe back for an old firm match and agathe ended up out longer.
It shouldn't happen but if you ask most old pros thetc will tell you it happens all the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 22:02:26
Point taken with Mjallby but that was when we had big Bobo and Valgaeren beside him plus he was a machine.

Bitton, Brown, Stokes, Boeriggter, Armstrong, Commons, GMS, Christie, Rogic, Allan, Mulgrew, Johansen, McGregor, Forrest, Roberts. There's 15 old Bhoy. 17 must have included Ajar, Nesbitt and Henderson with Derk out by that point.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2016 00:58:42
Nialh I hate to contradict u but surely you were referring to our current squad . We may have a bloated mid field in relation to numbers but Stokes is gone and Mulgrew isn't our footballer either, so at a stretch I make it 15 not 17 including Nesbitt who is very inexperience and is probably not ready yet .

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 02:21:32
Not rumour but should break bank and get paddy Roberts signed whatever it takes.

09 Jul 2016 07:37:59
Would be good mate be your talking anywhere upwards of 10 million don't see them losing much off the 12 million they paid for him but that said with pep there know he is bound to sign players so you never know us bhoys can dream hail hail.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 08:35:05
I think wee Roberts is going to tear the League apart this season, and when he does, he will also bring interest from England, driving any transfer fee up. i'd love to get him signed up, but in my view, the boy will prove too good for our League and you have to respect the fact that he is an English lad and his own dreams will be to make it big down there and get a national call up.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 10:23:13
i think itll be like denayer and he will end up strolling it, like most quality players they'll end up getting bored in this league and want to test themselves againt a better calibre of player, can't blame them really, diddy league wi diddies in charge.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 11:56:48
Where is this 12 million coming from I am sure they paid 4 million upfront with clauses in there that the fee can rise to 12 million but I am sure they only paid 4 million for the bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 17:25:17
Why has Paddy Roberts not started any game yet and I appreciate we have only played 3 pre- season so far but he hasn't done much yet .
I fully expect him to do well for us all season, but may not be the stand - out some think . In my opinion he does what he does well, but hasn't too many tricks to his game.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 01:47:57
Really slim pickings in the site recently lads, sorry I don't have much input, don't really know anything bar what I hear on here. But surely we are trying to get some business over the line.. My thinking is, wee have 2 new guy in the squad and 5 have left. That's 3 less than wee had on an already oversized squad. Does any1 think we are going to have to show more players the exit door before anymore enter it?? Really slow dealings by Celtic as per usual. I hope PL doesn't think that just because we got dembele that the fans will be happy.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

09 Jul 2016 02:47:14
He done the same last year mate when he got Boyata in early to make it look as if we were going to spend, then there was nothing until the end of the window with the other dud Ciftci. He forgets its the fans money, we give it so it can be invested in the team to make us successful, not to be hoarded in the banks.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2016 08:26:03
Just a little more patience required i think lads. I know were all eager to get players in, but i'm sure the club are doing their business well and running a fine tooth comb over all potential signings. Too many mistakes have been made in recent years just trying to get bodies to fill the squad.

There are many good Celtic people who have put a lot of effort into highlighting an example of injustice in Scottish Football . One thing is certain in our game, more Cheating to favour Rangers will take place, if we ignore members of the Celtic family from highlighting cheating in the past it only gives the SFA and Rangers encouragement to repeat cheating and getting away with it.
