Meeting called 9am 2moro morning into what went wrong after the Sevies were drawn away from home in a cup tie. Early reports suggest there was a mix up with the Hibs baw being warmed up instead of the Sevco baw. A re draw is expected to take place 10 am tomorrow morning.

If Dembele is rated at 20million what do yous reckon KT and Griffith's are worth? I'd say KT is 1 of the best in the UK.

just seen his goal, can't think of many better LB out there just now tbh. the way the market is just now he could go for anything mate, im still trying to get ma head round bournemouth paying 20 mill for ake.

I was glad he has waited until now to bang in a great goal from near 40yds. I would hate big Tommie Gemmell to have to witness a scorer of a better goal than him from a back four player.

Well if Kyle Walker went for £50m, young KT must be on par with him no matter what league he is playing in.

First post. Love the site Ed, cheers.

Just wanted to comment on price tags for our players.

Andre Gray signs for Watford from Burnley for £18.5M - he made 32 appearances in the Prem last season scoring 9 goals. He didn't even make double figures! Also, he only had 12 months left on his contact and had turned down an extension so I can only assume the £18.5M was a "cut down" price so that they don't lose him on a free in a years time.

If this sort of dross is worth £18.5M then the likes of Dembele, KT and Griffiths must be worth a small fortune. Not that I'd sell them at the moment of course!

The Prem isn't the best league in the world. It's the best marketed league in the world. They build up a super Sunday just for Liverpool and Man U to draw 0-0. But they still rake in the big bucks.

If they want any of our players then Celtic need to hold firm and tell them to pay their true value or they can look else where. Let's not undersell ourselves just cause we play in Scotland!

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate and welcome aboard.}

Unfortunately our league players will always be valued as a third tier player at this league throughout Europe.
We'll get nothing near the estimates we'd get in the EPFL for an equivalent player.
If there is some way out of this corrupt league system the better future for our wonderful club 🍀🇮🇪.

Ive said all summer that can u imagine if MD had scored those 2 free kicks for France how much he would be worth.
I also think LG will outscore MD every day of the week with equal games.

So for talking sake let's say that the loan deal for PR will cost us £2.5m even if that's for a 2 yr deal that means that PR will be on £24k per week unless there are additional costs within the £2.5m deal. That's a lot of money for a loan deal, but we do want PR back @Celticfc .

I thought the loan fee was separate to wages?

We have had him on loan for 18 months and I would be surprised if City want him to go out on loan again. They would have seen enough in that spell to make a decision to bring him back into the first team squad. It is obvious he is not in their plans.

I hope we sign him permanently. If he was our player from the off it is likely we would only have got 3 or 4 seasons at the most from a player of his ability, before someone came in a made a big offer for him. If he comes I think we would be lucky to hold on to him long term. At least if we get him in on a permanent deal we will benefit from a transfer fee down the line, instead of paying City a fee, paying PRs wages and then letting them make £10-15m when they decide to flog him.

Ed, any update on Kouassi's injury? It must have been a sore one because he likes to put himself about.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Nothing yet, Kev.}

Ed, Someone said to me last night only Cesar has lifted more Trophies than Scott Brown. If true what a remarkable achievement by Brown.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Yeah that's true mate. McNeill won 23 trophies as captain and Brown's lifted 11 so far - 3 ahead of Danny McGrain on 7.}

09 Aug 2017 12:47:55
I assume that's only trophies lifted as captain?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yes, Kev, Brown can add a league title (07/08) and a League Cup (08/09) to his overall haul.}

09 Aug 2017 12:59:43
I appreciate it's Broonie's testimonial season and he's an outstanding captain but I was hoping that Big Billy had unfurled the flag on Saturday. I appreciate his serious health issues but it would have been a tremendous gesture and reward for Cesars unique record of achievement.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - That would have been horrible to watch mate. McNeill's physical appearance has went drastically downhill and the great man himself wouldn't have known what was happening. Let's not give the TRIFC support any more ammunition for their vile song about the Lions.}

09 Aug 2017 14:08:53
Ed, pmsfl

Brown has lifted 11 that's 3 Three more than Danny McGrain on 7

As your financial advisor mate its four buddy are you getting ready to cover the Sevco page the night and warming up for it lol? :-P.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Ooftt that's a bad typo lol I was just up and the list I had didn't have last season's SC win included in Brown's so I added it then glanced at it again while typing that Danny had 7 to Brown's 10 from my list lol That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it - smart ar$e ;)

09 Aug 2017 14:35:23
Can live with that excuse Ed, It's something I would do plus I know you will get me back for it lol

At least your excuse didn't involve one of they GRASS pitches you like :-P (Y)

{Ed007's Note - That's far too early in the morning for any gardening lol.}

{Ed007's Note - Just be grateful they didn't get a knob like Rod Stewart to do it.}

After last night how may signings does everybody think we need this window.
I'd like a right winger a left back and maybe another striker.

09 Aug 2017 11:48:33
Two signings of genuie quality I'd say.

09 Aug 2017 11:54:15
For me for a striker it depends on how long md is out for. or if he stays . rw if Roberts come then that's covered if not. young nesbitt given chance? Left back br seems to want to shoehorn Miller in there . i think bar left back possibly rw we have enough cover . id like us to go out an buy the best keeper we could afford ( and not biscuit tin afford )

09 Aug 2017 12:10:34
Paddy would do for me and maybe a lb.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2017 12:12:18
After last night it's clear we don't NEED any signings. If half our first team get long term injuries we would still win the league comfortably based on that showing.

I think though at top European level the weakest part of our team is CB. Another one of the quality of Jozo would be the best improvement we could make, but I think we'll be going with Jozo, Boyata, Erik and Ajer for now. I'd be happy with just Roberts as the new no7.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2017 12:43:32
Whilst I'm happy with the crop of young Celts and am confident some of them can grow into fantastic players, it's not all about the future. We need a couple of injections of quality for the now, for Europe. A RAM is the no.1 for me. After that I'd say a GK. And possibly a CB.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2017 12:53:36
I really don't understand the panic to buy players, we will canter the league and have no chance of winning champions league, does supporters want to panic buy just to stay in Europe until Christmas which is no given even with 2 players @ £10m each.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2017 13:05:00
Things are looking great domestically for the foreseeable future so it would only be tweaking key positions with real quality if the club have CL ambitions beyond qualification?
Personally, I think the way the premier European tournament is fixed and doctored to suit the mega rich, I would be happy with a team that's able to maybe go one better than the great Seville side and go for the uefa.

09 Aug 2017 13:21:46
Once a bhoy at the minute I am happy with getting to champions league for a couple seasons then trying to get European football after Xmas and so on.
I want to win every competition we enter but am realistic as well.
Show us improvement every year even if it's just a small amount.

Agree0 Disagree1

09 Aug 2017 14:27:15
Youve got to add quality from a position of strength be ambitious and try and get out the groups why not there's smaller clubs than us do it and get the riches.

09 Aug 2017 15:31:01
Mamaself we are already in Europe till Xmas just to sort out wether champions league or europa league. Would love to see us sign paddy and depending on what mousaa tweet means today we may need a striker.

Kev83, of course, it shows how settled he is as he can joke about signing to a boot company.
I believe we have the necessary youngsters at club who need game time to become great players, loaning them out isn't always the answer, as they need to have the enthusiasm, work rate and speed of movement and passing . Last night the youngsters dove tailed with our more regular players perfectly.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2017 19:12:03
Loans worked for both McGregor and Ajer.
If not in first team plans get them out playing is better than sitting doing hehaw.

I agree kev, but a good settled team is just as important look at Real Madrid.

I think we can do ok in CL this season but we need a keeper. Craig Gordon is fine at SPL level but if we are to get to last 16, we won't do it with CG.
