Any ideas how simunovic is getting on? is he nearing a comeback or is this guy fast becoming a dud!?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Simunovic has been doing light training for the last 10 days or so.}

09 Aug 2016 23:24:21
A player plays with a broken bone in his knee and we wonder is he a dud?
Players can get injured.

Agree5 Disagree5

10 Aug 2016 06:36:33
The point I'm making here old bhoy is if he keeps picking up injuries constantly then he's hardly a success is he!?
4.5 million and he's had how many injuries?
At this point in his Celtic career its pointing to dud hopefully he will recover.

Agree4 Disagree2

10 Aug 2016 09:41:36
The guy is either very unlucky or injury prone and for the reported money we paid, must be a concern?
It doesn't help when you hear rumours that he didn't want to be here anyway and when you add Boyata, Mulgrew and Ambrose, it seems we do have a defensive 'duds' problem for BR to address.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2016 11:16:25
Hasn't it just been the one injury that eventually needed operating on?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No. He injured his ankle just after the Ajax game last season. This injury was to his knee after it was discovered in January he had been playing with a broken bone there.}

09 Aug 2016 21:59:40
Sitting watching the fitbaw here and the Mrs just walked in the room and said who's playing who's RM? I said Real Madrid then she said totally serious and surprised "playing Sevco".

Hi Ed,

Hope you are well.

Is there any news regarding Henderson. Is another loan deal on the cards? Hope he is with us long term and see's any loan deal as a way to progress rather than see it as an end to his Celtic career. He definitely has the qualities to be a future star for us. Maybe he could be now given the chance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Celtic want Henderson away on a permanent deal rather than a loan, Stan.}

09 Aug 2016 21:08:05
Thanks Ed, Very surprised by that if i'm honest. Obviously don't watch Hibs so have no idea how last seasons loan went but always though he did well when playing for us and was definitely one for the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 21:15:33
Ed is there any main reason why the club would prefer Henderson 2 move on? every time I've saw him in a hoops jersey, couldn't tell u how well he did at hibs, bar the stokesy final, n he had a few decent touches then, but he has always looked the part 2 me in a Celtic shirt, the inter Milan set up 4 guide to being an example.
In my opinion given proper game time could have been a big player 4 us, but br must not fancy him I assume. Hail hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Celtic can't give Henderson the game time he's looking for and it was decided it was in the best interests of both parties if he moved on permanently, if it was only a loan he'd more than likely be back at Hibs.}

09 Aug 2016 21:35:32
Gutted way this would rather the wee man than Magregor tbh.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 21:43:21
That's a shame, out of all our young midfielders he was 1 I expected 2 c more first team football this season, think he would be good alongside Scott brown with licence 2 go 4ward n brown 2 sit.
I know we have an abundance of midfielders but I felt Henderson was one that could cement a place in our team if given a chance.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 21:54:16
It is beyond me that Calum McGregor gets a game ahead of Liam Henderson. It would be a very disappointing outcome if the lad is let go.

Cheers for the info Ed mate your knowledge is always appreciated hail hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome buddy. (yes)

09 Aug 2016 22:25:19
Would prefer him over McGregor, Armstrong and Bitton to be honest and I liked what I saw when NL gave him a few games.
Obviously got to trust the managers decisions, but it seems Rogic and Christie are others, he doesn't fancy and Allen already has been shipped out - while old-unreliable Forrest seems back in favour?

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Aug 2016 22:40:32
Two managers in a row don't seem to rate L H and I think that speaks volumes as the Managers have both the expertise to judge and the best opportunities to see him the most . I have nothing against the lad and hope he makes it elsewhere.

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Aug 2016 07:51:34
Not recognising Ronnie, as any kind of manager, I would say that BR hasn't had long enough to assess Hendersons potential, I would rather play Henderson in midfield rather than McGregor, nothing against McGregor, but he is a striker (not as good as LG) , never is he a midfield player.

Hi guys was wondering if anyone knew of any irish bars in Malia in Greece. Have booked up to go in September with my girlfriend and will sadly miss the game. It was to good a holiday deal to refuse have been to malia before but can't remember any irish bars. Would appreciate any help Thanks in advance.

Lots of talk of a number 10 type wanted and who will BR go for.
I not so sure BR will try for a player like that when you consider LG, MD, SS, PR, are almost stick-ons for most games.
Now I would love a player like that as most are very talented but the way BR is setting us up with the front 4, the 2 midfielders will need to be central players and not a luxury as most no 10s are.
I personally think he will go for just a better standard of midfielder assuming we can ofcourse, as playing with a no 10 with the front 4 we have will leave our back door wide open.

Ed, I've heard from a few folk today that Celtic are looking at borini, have u heard anything or is it rubbish? Actually think the boy is a decent player, he just hasn't had a proper run of games.

Agree beav81 some quality performances n goals in the last year odds after finally getting injury free under Rd. For me even if u get 60 minutes out of him, he has great feet, he's strong, can pick a pass n can score, a few crackers 2. His main issue is still fitness, but if br can get him 2 get the best performance he can in those 60 minutes when he starts or 30 minutes or less coming off the bench, where he makes an impact more consistently, that makes a real goal threat with Griff paddy dembele Sinclair n rogic.
Hail hail.

good to see Rogic sign a new deal great player to bring on in vital times of games.

09 Aug 2016 17:25:07
Afternoon Ed, Am curious is Brown still the highest paid player at CP

What kind of wages are the three newbies on mate if you know.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know what kind of money the new guys are on but I'd be surprised if Brown is still the highest paid player unless he has a clause in his contract that as Club captain his pay will be on parity with the highest earner which is not uncommon.}

09 Aug 2016 18:32:03
Yeah John Terry had that clause it is a great clause to have in your contract wish I had it at my work!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 20:57:53
That tadger shearer was the first player I remember ever having it, I don't think kolo or dembele will be far behind Browns wage.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 21:00:08
Ed does that mean if someone comes in on more than him he automatically gets a wage rise? What if they then strip him of captaincy a month Later does that then mean he goes back to his original salary before any rises. Just can't see celtic agreeing to that but wit do a know.

Now that everyone is getting to full fitness it will be interesting to see who is staying and who is going.
It is also clear that some of the younger players are being sent out on loan to find out if they can make the grade.
With BR saying he is looking to add 2 more players the sqaud is bloated and needs trimming so expect a few to leave. My choices are
Gordon, Ambrose, Fisher, Boyata, Commons, Johansen, Biton, and Rogic.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

09 Aug 2016 17:49:57
Rogic signed new 3 year deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 17:53:59
I see where you're coming from Jonace, but I still think that Biton could be a class act if he'd play consistently at his best, and Rogic could be another big asset in time. And I'd be tempted to see if Johansen could get back to the form he had season before last. Was he injured last year, like Broonie? I' d go for a loan out of Christie, to get game time, and GMS. Depends who else comes in.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 22:50:44
How could we consider Gordon to be the first person out the door, leaving us with Fasan and a youth goalkeeper as back- up.
Even if we do sign for us, a top goal keeper, I think we must keep Gordon, if we can at least until Christmas . New goalkeeper, even if we came with a great reputation may not settle in our defence so we might have to fall back on Gordon.

A lot has been made out of the exclusion of KC from the champions league squad. He has been injured and no where near fit. I saw a list of the A squad and B squad but the B both had Henderson and Tierney in it can anyone explain this as neither are in A? The B seems to be the youngsters squad?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2016 17:02:02
overreaction i feel BT, what's the point in registering an unfit player just back from injury.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 17:31:27
Because we can register them in that squad and save more space in the a squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 22:56:19
Every player no matter how good they are, slow down and deteriorate . It appears Commons has reached that stage in his career . Kris said he would be available for selection a fortnight ago. B R seems to be determined to get his men in& out .
Good business getting 23 yr old Rogic to sign for another 3 yrs.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 17:31:08
He hasn't played at all for BR so why is it a surprise to see him left out?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 17:55:35
Cheers BB just found it odd to see KT out the A squad. BW yeah it is a little overreacted is KC even training properly yet? Can see another 3 in and 6 out before he window closes.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 16:49:05
I read that Hull are after Nemanja Nikolic a striker I hoped we would go for. He's regularily top scorer in the league and had a good first season with Legia finished top scorer with 28 goals and 9 assists. Price being quoted was £3m a decent fee for someone with a great goal scoring ratio. But heard the 3 BR is interested in is Vorm, McNair and St Juste. Agree with others that we need a creative midfielder but does anyone think we could use PR in that position?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2016 18:54:55
Do you mean a creative cm? I think he's improved defensively/ work rate, but not quite enough. You want him as high up the park as possible really. I think he could play centrally just behind a forward (s) though if that's what you meant.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 18:55:39
I'd be happy with 2 of those 3, st juste and vorm, never mind mcnair, need someone moravcik esk.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 17:31:49
Who would play out wide then? Forrest?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 20:02:09
Yes sorry JT at CAM just if BR rates JF so highly and if SS PR and JF are all fit wondering that wouldn't be a bad option to play all 3 if we decide to play 1 up top in away games in Europe. Agree his best work is higher up the pitch and might cut a lot of defensive duties out playing behind the striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 16:42:18
Ed . how many players can a sfl club take on loan from an epl .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Since 2014, clubs can have a maximum of four players on loan, three of whom must be under 21. Clubs can have two players on loan from the same club as long as that club is in a different division. However clubs can only take one player on loan at any time from a club in the same division.}

09 Aug 2016 13:17:44
Thinking of taking weeman to game tomorrow just wondering what people's thoughts about sort of team well play being strongest team or not. One thing holding me back is I've took weeman to 5 games with 5 defeats but thinking of giving him another chance with new season new manager and all saw its on bt sports so thinking won't be massive crowd anyone know how many being sold wee mans autistic so not the easiest to keep seated for 90 mins lol.

in the same boat regarding ma wee man Graham, When i go to games ( very rare these days) with the boy i take a pair of ear defenders for him. Settled him down a wee bit, don't imagine there will be a full house so tomorrow might be your best bet pal, all the best.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 14:32:21
I wouldn't be surprised if he picks quite a strong team tomorrow night, we haven't got a league match on Saturday so there is no need to take any risks with this game.
Saturdays match against Inter is only a friendly so I would much rather we give priority to the Motherwell match as there's a trophy at stake.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 15:26:03
Graham80 as another poster said, either contact club or ask senior steward in your section for help with the wee man, I know autistic kids do not like crowds, so if a smallish crowd ask to sit in the empty seats away from the crowd.

Young Aiden Nesbitt on loan at Greenock, straight in the squad for there game against Hamilton! Only until January but it's expeirience all in all.
I wonder who our wild card signing will be. Fair enough were linked with McNair but apparently he's being offered to Sunderland. The majority of our signings will be based in England due to Rodgers' knowledge I reckon. Anyone heard anything? Cheers likes eh.

So Commons not in our CL squad, looks like Kennedy has had a wee word in Brendan's ear.
Also with Mulgrew away, Collins out the door a much happier dressing room with all the troublemakers shunted aside. Well done Rodgers.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 23:04:09
Niall most clubs don't operate with the same two wingers for the whole game every game . U have seen 30 mins of Scot Sinclair and you have decided that he will play 90 mins twice a week nearly every week .

Morning All, Ed is there a cut off date for a wildcard for this qualifier?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Midnight (CET), the night before the first leg.)

09 Aug 2016 11:54:28
U fancy us to add anybody ED? Or do u think we'll wait and see if we get through and add maybe a real quality creative player? Would like to think if we make CL then BR would get some decent money!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Yes I do think there'll be at least one new signing in by then. Don't you think the overall money spent on the Sinclair deal is decent? You're talking circa £6 million and that's not including his wages. Toure on a free transfer is probably costing us more than signing Shane Duffy, including the transfer fee, and we simply got a bargain with Dembele.
Celtic have spent and tied up well over £10 million so far this window and we're still looking to add players.}

09 Aug 2016 12:22:50
Does BR have a tranfer budget of around 16million, can't remember where i heard that from.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2016 12:28:28
Fair point ED. just hoping for a bit of quality in the midfield, still think it's to slow in there! What positions u think the manager wants to strengthen ED? I know he says another 2! U hoping it's a new GK? Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If we bring in another GK I still think we need another 2, a CM with a bit of guile and another striker. If Griffiths or Dembele get inured all we've got is Ciftci and the youngsters

Cheers Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

09 Aug 2016 13:04:05
6m? Is that with add ons?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No, that's with all the costs involved in buying a player:

What is paid by the buying club would typically include:

(a) Transfer fee - the big number.
(b) Any levy applied by the local FA – 5% for the EPL.
(c) Tax due on the transfer fee – typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(d) Agent fees – this may be to one or more agents.
(e) Tax due on the agent fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(f) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches(what do you mean you have a super agent?) .
(g) Tax due on the Intermediary fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(h) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered).
(i) Legal fees.
(j) VAT on legal fees which is reclaimable.
(k) Moving/relocation costs for the player.
(l) VAT on moving/relocation costs which is reclaimable.
(m) Paying up insurance costs to the selling club (sometimes waived).
(n) Variables and tax on variables which may or may not be reclaimable) – these would typically include legal fees, moving/relocation costs, etc..}

09 Aug 2016 13:16:50
Ah, well I knew there were additional fees but not an extra £2.5m - I'm basing that on the reported £3.5m transfer fee. Well, at least the board have backed their man.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We paid £4 million for him. The SFA levy and VAT on the fee adds another £1 million straight onto it, and that's before you start considering Sinclair's signing on fee, legal fees, agent fees etc etc.}

09 Aug 2016 13:22:13
Cheers ED! Aye a wouldn't mind seeing another striker in to mate! Things are shaping up nicely but. getting rid of some of the deadwood and bringin in players to go straight in! Think we'll be happy by the end of the window! Well I hope we are lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think we'll see quite a few players leaving before the end of the window, the squad is still far too big.}

09 Aug 2016 13:30:49
Spot on ED007 there are plenty who think it's a simple case of just getting the cheque book out and who don't give a second thought to all the work that has to go on in the background before a signing is completed, football is a complicated business these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Especially when you're dealing with clubs and players from England.}

09 Aug 2016 14:11:29

We have at least 38 competitive games to play before the end of the year . We need some where near 20 players who are eager and kean and ready at all time to play for us.

love it, Pogba says the time is right to go back to Man Utd.
Dont suppose his cut of 89 million had anything to do with the timing?

Juventus have done rightly on that deal MRgreen described the league down south so well .
Should we look for Pogba on a 2 year loan deal.

I see Jason Denayer been told to look for a new club. Would bring him back before we went in for Paddy McNair, don't really rate the guy tbh.

Due to my boss being a Man Utd fan i had to endure watching them quite a bit on my last few Projects abroad. I just do not rate McNair at all. Every game i saw him in he was rotten.

Do people forget that JD didn't say nice things about the club when he left? Also he is no where close to the player he was when here, he has gotten worse and his ego has grown a lot. He thought he was the best after new contract at city and has gone backwards.

Agree Footy.

He tested himself in Turkey and only played around 20 games. He played around 50 for us so when he looks back he has to think it was more beneficial playing for us. It would be more beneficial than him sitting on the bench at City as they have just signed John Stones for nearly 50 million.

Serious question but would he walk into our team with Sviachenko, Toure and O'Connell all impressing? Do we need him? Was he only good because he had one of the best centre halves I have ever seen in the hoops beside him in VVD?

never said anything derogatory about the club, same as VVD, it was the league.

Does anyone know what the wages are of the 3 that have come in?, wondering if the wage cap has been lifted?, would imagine KT and SS would be on more than 25k. if not then we have played a blinder imo.

I'm sure the word on here was that KT's basic was 20k a week?

If that figure is true then I agree. I'm apprehensive as to how much value we have gotten for Sinclair, but can't complain with 1:1. It was necessary business for me with Toure, we've needed that bit experience and pedigree at the back for a while. I don't see why between Sviatchenko, Toure, O'Connell, Simunovic and even Ajer we can't have the best group of CBs in a long time. A figure like Toure was just the missing piece in my opinion.

would like to know what SS is on, was he not on something like 45g at AV?
