Have a sneaky feeling this one is real!?

I agree Dh88. This is not the first time we have heard this chat from the Lawwell PR machine.

It happens to many times for me to take it serious mate! We're going to spend 500 grand or so in the window so far,but then out of nowhere get this mystery top class striker! Just don't believe it! Same old crap every window I'm afraid.

How would alex rae know our transfer ter gets. Get a grip guys we are getting built up for a let down. Don't believe anything till its on Celtics website or officially announced.

10 Aug 2015 14:48:31
Alex Rae is only trying to wind up Celtic fans , by making us believe in a great pre Champions league signing , only for us to find we are led up the garden path again .

10 Aug 2015 14:48:45
Dont get hopes up. Remember January 2014 transfer window? PL says we were "close to signing a mystery £6m striker" from Turkey but it fell through at last minute. Will be exact same scenario.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 15:36:43
The 'transfer windows' have been so disappointing for years now and it's frustrating enough to watch these cash-cow clubs in England spending cash like water, without having to suffer the malicious gossip and rumour mongers at work concerning Celtic. If they're not trying to rush our top players out the door they are linking us with imaginary players.
We would all love to see more CL quality at the club, but under the current regime this seems more and more unlikely.

Hi was jus wondering if we get into group stages we could keep vvd till end of season at least surely playing in that more appealing than playing with Southampton or everton

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 23:13:54
Mate only way lawell doesn't sell if we qualify is if VVD signs a contact extension with a promise to sell next year or January but I just can't see it

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 23:18:37
Wilson, why is that more appealing? Is playing at Hamilton in front of 11,000 supporters better than going to Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge on £40k a week. Get a grip. 6 games in Champions league then back to Fir Park on a Wednesday in February? Playing in a league where you get £4mill if you win, no sponsor and little TV money? Celtic don't even want to play in it. If you offered Celtic the Premier league or the chance of European football they would jump ship tomorrow. We all need to understand the truth about playing football in Scotland.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 14:51:54
I think the situation has been for a long time that when we end European Qualifying champaign Celtic will, if possible agree to what Virgil wants.

I thought Mulgrew was vc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 20:25:41
Don't know about Mulgrew being our vc but did you not notice he wasn't FP

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 18:36:59
I'm a bid big fan of lustig but is he really our VC? If VVD wasn't moving it would have been him but surely johansen is our VC? Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 19:21:42
Lustig has been at the club longer than Johansen has he not? Maybe the reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 19:24:40
Lustig is a quality player and he would def be my vice captain.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 19:32:24
I certainly wouldn't quibble with Lustig been captain today , he is an excellent footballer with experience and has been with us for quite a while now .
As captain Brown is very important to us and carries out his duties impecibly on the field and giving up some of his time to our youth and development teams .
I am sure Deila would have others in mind for captaincy if the situation occurred .

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 19:40:04
I liked that Lustig was captain today. Think he's a good solid pro, I always remember him being really up for big games and going crazy if we scored or won. Seems to know what it's all about. Johansen is already a bit big for his boots!

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 19:47:49
I'm not taking away any of that but I just thought johansen would be the choice if brown and VVD left!

Agree1 Disagree2

10 Aug 2015 14:57:15
Currently Mulgrew is actually Vice Captain , when he and Brown are missing then Deila probably chose one of the longest serving players .
Role of captaincy in a one off match is rather insignificant as Deila would like most of the players to be leaders whether he gives the band enough

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 18:08:40
Don't really know what to say, maybe comfortable but uninspiring?.Never at any time did the team look under pressure, plus possession and passing all decent just seem to be missing that spark , that individual that gem that will rise you of your hard earned season ticket position or sofa, in my case.
Maybe I was spoilt watching people like Hendrik, Lubo, Mc Stay, Di Canio, Sutton, etc.
1 of them would be great now. maybe that 1 spark away from something exciting?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 19:39:48
TTTS , we have had quite a quelling schedule so far with four Eorpean games and now 2 SPL games and it has only been 6/7 weeks since many of our players have been away on International duties .
We have been effective workman like and have got the job done as you say without much pressure . I would expect as the season continues flare players like GMS , Forrest , Rogic etc will be given more opportunity to show their creation

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 20:59:09
@TTTS. I agree, I can't remember the last time that I felt that if everything clicks, we will score a shed load. We have been efficient now for ages without having that killer instinct and desire to score more than we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 22:04:13
GMS or Forrest are not the answer. Rogic I don't know, possibly.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 16:58:53
First of all a comfortable victory today after a tiring european journey so well done Celtic.
But I am a bit puzzled over team selection, apparently Armstrong was complaining of sore muscles yet Ronnie still picked him, also Lustig is supposed to be only playing once a week (Delia's own words) yet they risked him today also, I hope he is rested on Wednesday.
I also agree with poster who stated why give Scepovic a place on bench, if he is not going to play.
One more point to do with Thistle's capacity, one end has lain empty for years, down the road at Scotstoun Glasgow Warriors erect temporary stands when a big game comes up, surely Thistle could do this when Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen visit, even a stand holding 1000 would pay for itself and more in one of these games alone.

I watched the English football highlights last night every grounds look full . il watch the Scottish highlights tonight and most of the grounds will be empty surely these clubs can do something! I think they should give out free tickets to schools to try pack the grounds if u give away a few thousand tickets they will buy food from the grounds and programs its tickets they wouldn't Have sold anyway . Or a free child ticket with a adult ticket .

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 20:00:41
I agree Kenneth. You get Scottish kids now not interested in Scottish footy. Give them free tickets and get them interested in their local club if nobody is buying.

I think the manager and his back -up staff including his top quality medical people are best positioned to decide who is best for playing . It's not unusual for a player to come off after 20 mins as sometimes it's only by playing that a player knows the extent of his injury . Deila made wholesale changes last year after playing in Europe and he said that wouldn't happen again . It's always difficult trying to rest some players yet keep a strong consistent team out .
Try not been too hard on Deila, he isn't doing too bad you know , the MSSM
Probably rate him third best in the SPL behind McInnes and Nelson, so it's up to us to not let him slip further down the ratings 😋😀😆

Just wondering how much reporters get paid. In the sun today roger hannah says there won't be edinburgh or glasgow derbies this season. Has partick thistle went the same way as sevco especially as we are playing each other today or is it sloppy jurnournism or something more sinister?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 20:03:40
Do the football reporters in Scotland actually get paid?
That's even worse , I thought they actually paid the media to get their anti Celtic spew an airing 😀

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 22:19:33
Regarding the comments (anti celtic media)that has always been the case. But what annoys me is ,why does John Collins give them the ammunition for a banner headline.Since the season began I have read articles accompanied with the afore mentioned headline attributed to JC.Someone inside Celtic Park ought to have a word in his ear about what he tells them (the media) we know they can exaggerate what people say .so please JC cool it .killy.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2015 15:08:31
We have a bit of a problem with the media in Scotland , not only is the media anti Celtic but Deila is very truthful in how he answers them . Collins I think likes to hear the sound of his own voice . Despite how inoffensive or non controversial either Deila or Collins try to be the anti Celtic bias trips them up every time ,
McInnes spoke that no team in the SPL would test their discipline like some European team and the media praised him for his integrity.
When Collins question the ability of other SPL teams to make Celtic pay for mistakes,
He suddenly , according to the media made a massive gaffe and cost Celtic the league .

If Scepovic is not going to get a game, would it not be better giving a youth player a chance? Realistically Scepovic sits on bench and rarely gets used

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 15:28:08
There nobody really ready to come through DN30 mate , MscMullen will spend the season @ St Mirren , Donnelly a heard was going to do the same @ Morton , That leaves you Nesbitt & Duffy , Duffy for me would rather play in the "hole" and Nesbitt it is to big a jump IMO Plus they have just been invited to play in that European tourney/league they did well in last year so they will be deployed there

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 15:59:34
the only forward player not on loan from youths is luke Donnelly and think he's injured at moment,, although imo the board do their job well ,this is the biggerst and recurring mistake they make year in year out and its the biscuit tin recruitment specially of strikers hoping to get to group stages of cl then scrambling through dross hoping to get a gem to polish while usually buying the cheapest turd when we drop into Europa its almost ocd , since 2010 we've spent nearly 16 million (not including loan wages) on cf ,and yet we still need at least one , someone at cp must be looking into this or jobs aren't being done properly , it keeps getting said we can't compete wiit big leagues but in 2010 had we boubght a 16million rated player who was worth the price or two dividing that figure however it can ie 10 and 6 for two players worthy of the price (even now we could get two class players for that money) that would be the better policy and before anyone says better players want more money we would still have all loan money available to cover that ,right that's that sorted another coupla vods and ill start on fixing the middle east

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 16:18:09
Jamiebhoy I forgot we had signed Duffy. If we sign a striker I can see scepovic being sold

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 16:27:10
DN30 mate I agree I can see Scepovic & Stokes obviously now as well which makes me think we need another TWO strikers mate! but we cannot even get one in

Duffy for me is "Niall McGinn mark 2" he does have a slightly better eye for goal but not as pacey as McGinn after being played in that "hole" position he is more of a winger than a striker just my opinion mate

McMullen is skilful but will spend the season @ St Mirren noo (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 17:12:37
Duffy is out on loan gents he's at Alloa.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 18:35:20
Yes we do look like we have no true CF in our youth set up that will make the mark and I'm sure that is what RD is trying to do produce through the academy over time! Scepovic is too lazy he really needs to go he doesn't play for the team! Let's hope we bring in a game or target man we need one for which ever European competition we are in!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Aug 2015 13:49:07
Ref's should take note of big Sutton

Questioned about the penalty incident he explains why he thought it was

End of argument

Not saying everyone will agree with their rationale but it clears things up and makes it easier to understand the decision

Defo time for refs to come out after games and explain their decisions

Believable0 Unbelievable1

09 Aug 2015 20:25:54
Definitely Marco, referees should be given sometime and in fairness to them should then answer questions that they had prior knowledge of .

Might sound like Deja Vu here; as usual no problems dominating possession and keeping the ball; but we are playing at the opposition pace and being a bit too predictable.
I know some players are still getting up to full fitness/sharpness, but there is a severe lack of flair and goals in this team - going by recent games and our best striker spends a lot of time in wide positions.
Rogic did take his goal very well and we are coasting so far, but we are not scoring enough goals for a Celtic team streets ahead of the opposition.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 14:05:26
Its good to see Rogic back and goal will only boost his confidence

JungleJim, early in the season, and returning was it from , was it the middle of Asia mid week. To be honest I was worried before the match today .
Also when you are playing against 2 lines of four within 25 yards of their own goal it isn't easy to get the speed up .

Wgs how can you not like him.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 13:04:05
Would have him back in a flash; he's forgot more than others will ever know about football and his joy and enthusiasm is contagious. Always got time for him.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Aug 2015 15:02:26
Don't have anything against him personally and I do enjoy his punditry.

However, I hated the brand of football he had us playing. Remember a game against ICT were he set the team up to defend and we did not have a shot on goal the whole match.

In addition, he could not solve the LB problem the whole time he was there. I also hated his love of Caldwell, McManus and zonal defending. This combination used to make me shit it everytime the opposition had a set piece anywhere near our box as it often resulted in a goal.

Agree3 Disagree1

09 Aug 2015 11:54:15
Rogic starting. Maybe provide the midfield spark that has been missing.
Hope big Chris gets some praise today for his positive vibes over the last few games.
He was calling it as it was last season and really has celtic well being at heart I think.

Hi All,

Just looking at today's teamsheet on ssn and Broonie doesn't appear to be playing - I can't even see his name on the bench - any problems or injuries? (good to see Rogic starting though!)

09 Aug 2015 11:11:14
I may be a bit optimistic but if scepovic starts today I fancy his chances of bagging a couple today. surely he has got to improve his play and give RD a bit of food for thought. still think he can cut it with us. HH.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

09 Aug 2015 17:42:44
Ticbhoy why do you think Scepovic will make it? There is no chance. He is another Pukkie, Balde, etc. he won't make it. Problem is we can't sell him. If RD had seen anything in him he would have played today. We have a BIG problem. We don't score enough goals. We don't have enough shots on target. We had 6 today. This is Partick. So many posters talk about how we we are doing. It's early in the season, players need time etc. STOP! We are way below where we should be. Get your heads out of the clouds. Come back and talk to me after Malmo.

If reports are true regarding John Collins statements at press conference anything less than the treble will be a disastrous season

Believable1 Unbelievable0

09 Aug 2015 11:28:19
Agreed. Hoping it has been taken out of context or misreported. Although on paper we are better than every other team in Scotland it is not as if we are taking 5 or 6 off each of them every game and sounded very disrespectful.
