Not a rumour merely an observation on the Legends match
Commentator says:
"Celtic adopting a Manchester City 'Poznan' Celebration"
f*** right off.
We've had it for last few years. They've had it conviently since it was shown at Old Firm game earlier in the year.

Lubo67 {Ed003's Note - Err,and where did you get it from?}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

You don't even know where it came from fool, poznan done it against city first. you's copied them

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed While I am not going to deny there are probably other teams doing it before us it is my understanding our celebration mimics the huddle by the players at the start of every game. This has been done since the 90s and the fan celebration simply reflects that. It is merely coincidence other teams do a similar celebration. So how then does it become Manchester City's? Because they sure didn't start it.

Lubo67

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic have only been doing it from last season. Manchester city have been doing it for 3 seasons. You must have been dreaming.

Agree0 Disagree0

THey had it before you I think you'll find. Where did Celtic get it from then they never just made it up.

Jock

Agree0 Disagree0

I know typical , was well beeelin

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure Lech Poznan started it, hence the name.

Man City may or may not have used it first against Poznan - I'm not sure. However Celtic are probably the ones that made it popular (or at least recognized) in the UK, and certainly do it a hell-of-a-lot more often. I've never once seen Man City fans do it.

The comment annoyed me too to be fair, and wasn't the only one as it was clear that the commentator had very little knowledge of Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Av never seen it

Agree0 Disagree0

The first time i remember celtic doing it was at Ibrox in gordon strachans first year . celtic showed up with news papers and where singing were only hear to read the papers and then turned there back and sung lets all do the huddle . and thats my first memory it could have been going on for longer.

but typical every rangers fan want's to take the credit of celtic fans as yet again w create something world football love's and they dont have anything without bile.

make something yourself instead of coping everything we do but taking the celtic word out and putting rangers in.

Agree0 Disagree0

R u completly daft celtic bein doing it from the 90's ur so full of sh1t theyve been doing it from last season and shout "lets all do the huddle" 90's gimme a break
cfc1888

Agree0 Disagree0

Manchester city have been doing it for 3 seasons

no they started when the played lech poznan in the europa league last season

Agree0 Disagree0

Mimics the huddle like every other thing, u knicked it that is a FACT cant talk ya way oot of that can u, just like ya songs.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 15:04:58
As I stated lech Poznan may have done it before Celtic but they aren't the only ones who do this celebration in europe. My original point was that it was referred to as Man City's when in actual fact Celtic have been doing it much longer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the guy that says they been doing it since the 90, s just got confused because they just turned there bks on there team in the 90, s lol

Agree0 Disagree0

To cfc1888
I was talking about the players huddle that started in the 90s. Try reading carefully next time. When was the last time you were in Parkhead? I'd imagine everyone who has been at least twice in the last few years knows the fans didn't start doing it this season. I remember it at Livingston cup game in 08/09 season.

HI, people everytime the transfer window opens first thing i do is read the transfer gossip in the morning, and every year i get p@ssed off after afew weeks, surely celtic could have their targets in mind and try to get them in at the start of the window instead of this waiting game and see whats left, I think Lennys transfers have all been good quality players generally so im not trying to sound ungrateful, lets get the money out and buy this goalie and a striker in and if possible another big centre back, johnny

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thers no money

Agree0 Disagree0

I know but I don't think we need a ST but if we bring in a good one I won't complain, the keeper situation is what i'm worrying and we need a good CB as well

Cuellar at muddy park, looks like they've got him.......

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I would not worry as it has not been reported anywhere. It is simply a rumour started on twitter. I mean how can someone who is injured be in for a medical? {Ed001's Note - Liverpool signed Carroll with an injury, Villa signed Downing with an injury too, it can be done.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought he was injured? ed have you heard anything? {Ed001's Note - he is but they can still sign him.}

Hi Ed, how are you?

Any news on the polish goalie or Adam Le Fondre? {Ed003's Note - I'm fine thank you,no nothing sorry}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im fine thanks. Just keeping my fingers crossed we get this guy in and get him in quickly. I cannot bear the thought of going through the season with Zaluska. I also see we were linked again with Huselkepp. Dont know about you but his record is not that good - Le Fondre seems much better and will cost a lot less. Would do you think?

09 Aug 2011 16:06:59
well as someone said i have no idea how a club is run.

well celtic went from 10 mil to 12 mil of dept for the last financial year but reported a pri tax profit of 9.8 million which after tax will be around 7.2 million profit for the season.

season 2009-10 season celtic spent a total of 9.5 million over the season mainly due to Fox 1.5m , Hooiveld 1.5m, Rogne 200k , Ki 2m , fortune 1.8 + 750k for the next 2 seasons if he played so only 750k was payed , and Rasmussen 1.5.

we recived 8.55 million from players sold most money coming from scott mcdonald 4.5m , Fox 1.8 , donati 1.5 and various fring players leaving for small sums like robson , cuthbert and mark brown.

wages for players in was around 153k a week for all transfers including Keane and camara but thay on stayed 6 months. so for half the season on 88k.
Players out saved 167k per week as nakamura , mcdonald , naylor mcmanus , fox , hesselink , donati, some of our top earners left.

2010-11.
we brought in Izauierre 350k , Juarez 1.5m, commons 300k, kayal 1.2m, stokes 800k, murphy 1.3m, hooper 2.4 m total 7.85million.

we sold Boruc 2m, mcmanus 1.5m, misun 200k, caddis 350k, crosas 300k, mizuno 200k. ferry 350k. mcgeady 9.5m and fortune 2.5m, Zhi 300k. Total 17.2 million.

Players in wages rose 160k per week
players out wages dropped 118.5k per week

our anual report say our revenue is down 10% but thats only on the previous years takings . we still take in a substantial amount heance why we made a pri tax profit of 9.8 million. We would have only lost 2m last year without CL Money the mcgeady sale will not come into the next tax report so my only thinking is as we cant offload players the 7 mil profit after tax will have to cover costs this season as we are not selling players and we are not in the CL again so smaller revenue .

If you are a share holder study for financial booklet that share holders get and it will explain things and if you where at the last AGM you would have been told of the pri tax profit also for some chance it made the papers too.

so before you start taking pops at someone for not knowing how to run a club , sit down and ready the stats yourself if you have a booklet.

CELBOY

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Mate bottom line is, no champions league money for 3 seasons plus falling attendance records means that celtic have an extremely tight budget this season, we had absolutley no european income last season. Btw couple of your transfer fee's are incorrect there aswell.

Drew

Agree0 Disagree0

We've bid 2M+ for players and discussed with Man City the possibility of bringing in Craig Bellamy - there's money available.

I think the lack of signings is an overreaction.

First off we have a large squad, unlike Rangers who're thin on the ground and need first-team standard players who've experienced runs of 1st team football as their bench is full of inexperience, albeit one or two look good prospects with the ability to step up like Wylde and Ness.

Second off, Lennon said he'd bring in 2 or 3 players in key positions. If the press are to be believed, we've targetted mainly goalkeepers and strikers. One of each I reckon we'll bring in before the end of the season and I think now that Izzy's out we'll also bring in a left-back on loan.

I'm disappointed we've not acted faster to hit the UEFA Cup deadline but there're still two business days left and a wildcard for the qualifier. On the grand scheme of things there are also 3 weeks of the transfer window left and 25 man squads in the EPL to be decided which could provide signings either on loan if we're lucky cheap if the club wants rid. We are tight - this season no doubt - but not so much that we can't sign a couple of players and rather than be ripped off we're clearly looking for value for money in the ilk of Kayal and Izaguirre.

Im getting sick and tired of the amateurs that run our club especially the liar that is peter lawwell.

Every year around season ticket renewal time its the same bulls**t.

LATE JUNE AS RENEWALS START COMING THRU THE POST we will back neil in the transfer market

MID JULY WHEN THEY ARENT SELLING AS EXPECTED every penny will be reinvested in the team

LATE JULY/EARLY AUGUST WHEN THE FIRST HOME GAME OF THE SEASON IS NEARING this transfer window could decide the destination of the title

well im sick of liewell its time he was shown the door, as far as im concerned he has cost us the last 3 league titles and has failed the previous managers HE hired and should be sacked for incompetence.

He has known for an entire year now THG needed replacing and to date has failed to deliver get the finger out lawwell or GTF

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Peter Lawell is an excellent chief exec, knows exactly whats he's doing. He backed Mowbray in the transfer market and then backed Lennon do it all over again, get off the guys back. Not his fault that Strachan, Mowbray and Lennon all failed to qualify for the champs league, they all had plenty of backing.

I hope Celtic just put in the £2m for Sandomierski. It's not much for an international keeper and he could potentially be our number one for 10-15 years as he's only 21. If not, we could sell him for a tidy fee.
Kevbhoy

Believable4 Unbelievable0

This polish goal keeper should have been at celtic now training with the squad, this should have been sorted out weeks ago mate, if he is as good a prospect as they say why dont we just pay the asking price? johnny

anyone else worried about lennons tactics at the moment. 1. stokes out wide is a disaster as he works better in the box around hooper. 2. commons on the right - he scored his goals from the left and he is always having to go back on to his left foot so we cant get early balls in. 3. i would also like a settled back 4 and keeper - too much changed too often cant be good and affects confidence i think. 4. would also like forrest playing more especially against teams that sit in as ki, ledley and kayal arent the type of players that beat players.

hes doing well but i think some of these may come back to haunt us in more difficult games

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I agree about Commons. He's been poor the past few games and it's probably no coincidence he's playing the opposite flank.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its no mystery why Celtic dont have any money, we sold Mcgeady and Boruc and bought a whole new team. We havnt been in the champions league for. the last 3 seasons and we were'nt in europe at all last year. I dont see how any1 can find this puzzling.

West Ham after Kyle Laughable £2m so what must Kayal and Emillio be worth? At least £10m.
I think our lack of action in transfer market means lennie thinks we can do the business against Sion with the players we have and would like to think he has 'Quality' players on the radar before end of August. ~alba free~

It could have been argued that in the last 2 months of the season Lafferty was the best form player in the league, actually to be honest there wasnt much case he WAS the best form player defo in the last 6 games. Looking at game yesterday which was a fair performance and a great 3 points I thought personally the balance was pretty good. Kayal and ki compliment each other. Both faded in and out of the game but when it mattered both rolled up the sleeves and got stuck in. Just Matthews is a find and very comfortable with good pace touch and vision. Wlison continues to impress and the big swede when he goes and wins the ball looks ok. Two up front are a handful and I think we could do with a bargain or surgeon with any one of the two of them. Looking at the bench I didn't think we had a lot to turn the game. It looked like stalemate for a long time but fair play we didn't give in. Still think we need three players two up front and definitely one at the back. Most teams will sit in deep against us so we need to get width. Craig brown made it a good practice for playing against Still liked the way we shut them down and how we passed the ball under pressure. More of please. What did you think Ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I take your point but against a half decent team we could have lost at least two goals, the tap in they missed a perfect example. Thought we rode our luck a little. Maybe I am being too harsh but need a keeper and a quality target man. In my opinion obviously. ~Alba free~

Looks like Mr Whyte is at it again.

"Roland will not go to Rangers and that is Anderlecht's decision despite many offers, " explained agent Felipovic.

"Finally the difference was a ridiculous €200, 000. And this is at a time when Anderlecht have received many millions of euros from Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku.

"Anderlecht have not kept their word. When we signed a new contract with them they made a promise about a transfer fee. Rangers have offered this fee but Anderlecht refuse to accept it.

Morning ed, just wondering..... Do you think that rangers have to forewarn any potential transfer target of the impending tax case? The reason i ask is this.... They have had so many deals collapse at player negotiation stage it would seem that players are worried about whether they will be paid at all once the jobbie hits the fan. What are everybody's thoughts. Andy H {Ed001's Note - there would be no legal reason for them to do so that I am aware of.}

I agree with people we do need to get rid of players but ffs why can't we just pay the 2 mill for this polish keeper it's a position we are desperate for, a club our size I do not think 2 million would break the bank
Take advantage of rangers struggling this is the time to get way ahead of them not just one step away

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Fully agree, if DD was willing to pay stupid money for Keano or Bellamy then he should be just as forthcoming for a position we actually need to fill within the squad.

I'm certainly not grumbling about how un/generous he is before anyone starts, just making a point that £2m for this lad would be half Keano's wages for a year, or thereabouts.

hi ED good to see all decent fans wishing izzy well from all clubs . But we all should remember Scott Severin had a bad injury as well hope both players have a speedy recovery . Where we not speaking to a striker by the name off Mylord Kasai (think this was his name) . If yes is there any thing happened . We defo need target man sort of striker . Would have taken big Jon Daly from Dundee Utd he has signed contract extension . Who do you think we should go for .

TamBhoy1974

Mylord is a 19 year old midfielder and is not the answer to our striking dilema (hardly a problem). I would guess that celtic will get some one in and that it will probably be some one not on the radar
