Where did this split start I've been critical of performances etc but c at the end of the day I'm a Tim faithful through and through, if and when individuals become a reason or cause not to support Celtic u would be better off going somewhere else I love my team my club my support being a Celtic supporter means everything to me I bet I'm sleeping a lot better tonight than the bigoted mob hail hail to u all.

Stef and Da. Both of you make good points. Somebody said on the live chat today that CKR was a trier, but not very good. You could say the same about RD. The point is we are celtic supporters and by definition should support the team through thick and thin. We are not glory hunters. BTW I believe RD is the right person for the club, he will need 3-4 seasons and then we can judge his legacy. PS great win today.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - One of my cronies that was at the game phoned me tonight and he was saying he was really impressed with CKR's hold up play and the way he was getting in about the Murderwell defenders. I can't say I seen any of it but he wants to see him up against TRIFC's powderpuff diddy league defence next week if RD sticks with 433.}

10 Apr 2016 01:06:36
Ed, I was happy with what CKR did today. At CP murderwell bullied us physically when they beat us 2-1. Hard work will reap it's reward eventually. He has some skill. Just needs time on the pitch and tbh I am frothing at the prospect of a 433 against the "mighty" Rangers. Ooffttt.

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - I just hope RD doesn't rest anyone for the league run-in. It might be against lower league opposition but it's still a semi final and we need to win it.}

I think we are a better team when we play 4-3-3 and the players seem to enjoy that formation and create more chances.
If we had better quality in a couple of those key positions yesterday then I think we would have made more of the numerous chances and could be a much more convincing and confident side.
At present we rely far too much on LG to carry the front men.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Apr 2016 07:13:56
Having watched the game today ED I totally agree with you. I'd keep CKR in the starting line up against them in the semi next week. The guy ran his heart out today bullied the Motherwell defenders and indeed did hold up the ball well. For me he should definitely start next week.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed agree with your mate. CKR IMO played well tracking back a lot. Stuck up for wee Roberts which led to his booking. Will definitely add a bit fight against the Zombies.

10 Apr 2016 10:59:01
I think CRK put in a shift without being great. That's a good thing for me. Even when not at top of his game he works his ass off.
I liked how he put himself about and when he waded it when the motherwell player was having a pop at wee Roberts

10 Apr 2016 14:11:17
CRK has a role to play next Sunday. I don't rate him much as a striker but as far as a worker and a bit of steel up top he does do a job. We lack a bit of muscle when we play a lightweight front 3 and I expect it to be a bit of a dirty game. SJ will start along with rogic and I think it will be brown and nb as the holding. We will need GMS or preferably Robert to come from the bench or start ahead of CKR as a bit of creativity will be needed. One thing I've seen and liked is the minute there is a bad challenge or a dust up he is over at the player to see them off. Granted he will be booked and if he is given a full 90 he will be sent off :) he is a nutier than a squirrel's sh#te.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2016 18:46:09
To say someone is quaranteed to be sent off is plain stupid, and possibly harmful to your team . The referee will determine who if anyone is sent off and that man in the middle Craig Thompson is likely to send off a hooped jersey rather than a player in blue .
Let us join with RD and hope the tie is won by the players on the field and not by moments of controversary.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2016 22:16:47
CKR is a heid case and a prime target for Craig Thomson's big red card, I wouldn't even think of starting him next week, pace in behind their "marauding" full backs is the tactic to use against them .

Game of two halfs for me today, 1st half I thought we played really well keeping Motherwell in they're own half for the majority. 2nd half not as good although to a point I think Motherwell could only improve on they're 1st half performance. Got to give CKR some credit, I thought the big man got himself about today and put in a decent shift. Wee Tierney can only learn from his mistake for the equiliser. Glad griffiths scored a couple although that pen miss was horrible to watch. All in all I feel a deserved 3 points today, got to give them some credit as I'm not slow in slating them when they're not doing it. Roll on next week.

I've not seen any re run of the game, I can only comment on what I saw at the ground, but I thought that we played a lot better today especially in the first half.
Scott Brown seemed to be a bit more like his old self in the opening period but I thought he faded badly after the break, whether this was down to fitness or that Motherwell improved in the second half, I'm not too sure.
I hope Griffiths goals get him motoring again, he was beginning to look very edgy in front of goal, that looked an awful penalty, we'll maybe need to get someone else taking them he's missed a few lately.
It's turned out to be a really good weekend for us with Aberdeen's defeat last night, we should comfortably win the league from here.
Hopefully we can improve a bit more for next week, it would be great to give sevco a hammering and knock some of the cockiness out of them.

Read issues below re Sutton as he has, as usual kept up the nasty comments on Ronnie. I have said this before that these ex Celts are a disgrace and their 'comments' are more about money than truth ad the Daily record isn't interested unless they're slagging Ronnie. Sutton has said from day one that Ronnie will jot do.

Chris Sutton has told the truth though! He gets paid no matter what his column says, he's still right!
I've not seen the latest but the rest are spot on, and it's just what every other fan/ supporter sees but he gets coverage we don't!
If he was wrong i'd certainly not be happy, but he's not wrong, ex player or not, he's right lol.

Bigbadjohn I have to agree with u on one point, I didn't see or hear Chris Sutton 's latest rant, and hopefully I shall not hear or read anymore of his hate filled anti Celtic but in particular anti R D rants . Mr Sutton was one of the best paid players ever to play for Celtic . It sticks in my throat that the club who gave him the millions to toss away through bookies. Now in financial poverty he uses the SMSM to destroy., to besmirch the good name of and be downright insulting and tells lies about our great club and employees.
What is even worse unbelievable some so called Celtic supporters believe the negative hate filled sod .

09 Apr 2016 23:13:23
Flump me old bhoy obviously you don't agree with sutton but a don't think he hates celtic. The only reason he says what he does is because he cares about celtic. A don't think pundits sway any self respecting celtic fans opinion on ronnie's ability, most of us can make our own minds up. Never seen the game today because ma son decided to have his birthday party today. Selfish a know but he's only ten so Al let him off this time. going on what av heard it was an improvement from midweek so hope we keep the pace up and hump these clowns next week. Good to see Griffiths is back on the goal trail.

Unfortunately Stephbhoy, I believe Chris Sutton cares first and foremost about his bank balance and is happy to take the Queens shillings to ensure he can pay his bills. What better way than by slagging CFC and RD.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Apr 2016 18:54:38
Stephbhoy I have to say Bankiebhoy has Sutton's interests summed up to a "t" . Surely if he had the slightest time for Celtic he wouldn't always speak in such an anti Celtic, anti R D mode . Shame on him and all who quote and read him.

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Apr 2016 19:09:45
Stephbhoy, I think Bankiebhoy explains perfectly the Sutton hunger to make -up for some of the money he has wasted means Chris will sell the little bit of Celtic love he has, for the MSSM shilling.

Question:
Is it the case the RD does not fit the team or the team does not fit RD.?

If RD had better quality player would his ideas work better?
To many indifferent performances.

Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

09 Apr 2016 21:47:19
Despite the doubts expressed by many, R D has had the ability and the players to succeed in his main targets in the two years, that he has been with us . Now with a greater knowledge of European football and more of the players he wants around him maybe he will succeed in some of his smaller targets.

Agree2 Disagree1

10 Apr 2016 08:14:52
The team (or parts) do not suit RD.

Age old isn't it. System to suit players? Or players to suit system? RD is finding himself straddling the two at times.

There's probably a profusion of reasons for indifferent performances. Mental toughness is one of the main ones for me. We're not bringing in proven winners so much, we're trying to make them ourselves. We used to sign players who were relatively successful, won leagues, negotiated qualifiers etc. Not now.

I believe the 'system' is to suit both Europe and Scotland.

Domestically, we seem to struggle to break a side down a wee bit with 10 men behind the ball, and that for me comes from the quality of the player. But then, how many teams in Europe will play with ten men behind the ball against us?

In Europe, we don't have that problem, and the way we approach opponents under RD is as ambitious and cavaliar as I've seen. Too cavaliar? Perhaps. But again we haven't been clinical or strong enough up top, and the obvious shooting ourselves in the foot defensively.

With time and the right recruitment, we'll be producing more exciting stuff both home and abroad.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Apr 2016 18:09:20
Mark McGee's has lost any respect I ever had for the guy, I will ALLWAYS look on him like a piece of sh#t, I'm no fan of Ronny's way of management but no one can say he has been nothing but a gentleman since he came to Celtic, and for McDonald and McManus ther seems to be some kind of hatred towards us WHY? F#ck them too , I'm all for playing to your highest standard at every game but iv watched them on several occasions this year and at no point was ther as much aggressiveness in ther game what iv watched, so FTW and roll on 5 in a row.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

09 Apr 2016 18:52:30
Over the years, I think there have been numerous occasions when ex-players run their guts out and try much harder when they play Celtic and I've lost count how many of them actually score against us.
I don't know if they think they have a point to prove or there is even some resentment involved, but it happens with managers too.
If they put in as much effort and desire every other week, then their current teams would be better and Scottish football would benefit lol
However, it has been suggested the opposite would apply, when ex-players return to Ibrox?

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Apr 2016 21:03:21
Incredibly childish and and petty and stupid gesture by McGee.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2016 21:42:35
I thought I saw that. I seen Ronny stare at him he looked confused (and angry) as to why he brushed him off. Shocking gesture perhaps he wants his old club to win the league so bad that he hates Ronny because he's going to win it.

Agree1 Disagree2

09 Apr 2016 21:53:49
Unlike that person Sutton, McManus hasn't been too destructive when commenting to the media about us . McDonald has always been annoying as a player even when playing with us .
I have to say I don't think anyone, even his harshest critics can say that R.D. has been anything but a perfect gentleman in his dealings with the media and opposing managers.

Would just like to say I was more happy with ckr today than I have been so far not saying he's the best player I've ever seen but the effort was there today using his strength to his advantage was good to see him sticking up for Roberts when he was crowded around. brown was better 1st half but fell away in the second same problem as always though center midfield was our downfall until rogic came on.

09 Apr 2016 14:51:24
Well bhoys and ghirls what did we make of that?

deserved win but we still have a major (major) issue with tackling. still too soft centred for me

Roberts and Griffiths could hurt Rangers

KT better making mistake this week than next week

BROWN totally absent in the second half . basically fouled all 2nd half and when he did have the ball he managed to either fall over it or make simple passes look difficult to execute . happy that the hair experiment has been put to bed right enough!

i hope the colossus that was SB (some months ago) finds 90 minutes next week

Johanssen 2nd half was very poor too

Bitton for me is too lightweight . all 7ft of him but you'd hope he still has enough guile to stand out against Sevco

We will fall over the line this year but what of next year? .

mcmanus should have been off today .2nd half tackle on Bitton was dreadful . simply dreadful

McGhee's clear goal . LOL. tight yes. either way . but apparently he was clearly onside . sour grapes and no handshake . he can do you know what .

The first half was the best I've seen us for a while - especially on the back of a midweek draw and at 'THE form-teams' back yard.
The only downside was another missed PK although their keeper denied us several times before the break.
The whole team seemed to want the ball and there were improved performances from Brown, Johansen, and CKR in particular and we looked well in control.

Unfortunately we were not as convincing in the second half and the midfield faded, which showed up our defensive frailty at times.
However, we did come back well after their equaliser and we got the three points that everyone was anxious for before the game.
The concerns for me was the apparent tiring of the central midfield and the load of missed chances, where we again rely on Griffiths far too much to get the goals.
Although young Tierney made one mistake [very rare for him] that lead to their goal - I think Lustig is time and time again a very weak defender for a man of his experience and previous quality.

If we could play the way we did in the first half, for the whole 90 mins and take more of these chances there would not be much too moan about - unlike the SLY panel and commentary-team who are so biased and bitter [including Andy Walker] and big fat McGee who spat out his dummy and refused to shake RD's hand at the end.
The amount of ex-Celtic staff who take pleasure in bad mouthing or trying to belittle our club is absolutely disgusting btw.

A good victory and perfect warm-up for the cup semi-final against lower division opposition. Well played Celts.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Apr 2016 16:42:52
Scott brown was on form first half - let's take this as a positive step.
The whole first half was a dominant display and I for one was happy
Second half Motherwell came out swinging but we more than matched them and deserved the win.
Concentration let us down second half and we need to rediscover how to keep a tempo for 90mins.
SJ is getting back to it, putting himself about and making space for PR another positive.
I wholeheartedly agree about the ex Celts constantly putting the club that gave them so much down - walker gets right on my wick!
To be fair to MM at the interview he was talking sense, no one likes to get beat.
Bring on the zombies.

Paradisewon there have been far worse games this season. Yes it was flat today, but a win is an improvement on Dundee game.

Your analysis of Biton is bizarre. He has been one of our most consistent players all season, yet its as if your annoyed at this and are struggling to find something to be critical of him.

95% of your posts are critical of something. i'm looking forward to hearing your critical analysis of game we win league. I can imagine it will be something like "although he took the goal well, i just feel the goal posts were not alligned to the manufacturers recommendation. The near side post seems to lag 0.23cm out of line from the far side at a degree of 0.065"

We haven't formally finished this year yet, you start on about next season . What about the next two seasons after that? U are unbelievable .

Beav81 your right mate. Anyone insisting on a clause like one he had, obviously has a big ego. Never rated him as a manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Apr 2016 22:08:11
I never rated him either but if R D goes, he is the type of idiot that will be in the running for the vacant Celtic job . That's why I am far from convinced that we will be best served by exit of R D .
If R D goes there is a relatively short time spell for Celtic to get in a replacement . They may have one or two "quality managers" on the short list but these people could get other offers at the drop of a hat and the board could be rushed into a quick and maybe distinctly average appointment.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Apr 2016 02:52:20
I'm all for replacing anyone at celtic as long as it's with someone better. no chance will mark mcghee be replacing Ronnie at the helm he's failed almost everywhere he's been as a manager. I agree fantastic player, but he's sticking the knife in to ronnys back to further his career. Don't think if heard him say anything positive all season. You see it with former oldco players who criticise but then add they know how hard the task is etc etc you don't get any of that with Sutton. I honestly don't want him anywhere near Celtic in any capacity anymore. He's burnt that bridge IMO.

I think he is wrong about Ronny. Sutton has his head in the mon days, I don't remember him criticising Ronny last season, let's look at the facts Ronny lost his 2 main cb in one window and Lawell gave him boyata and an injury prone jozo so it was always going to be hard to be solid at the back. The board realised they had messed up and signed erik who has looked hot and cold I feel he needs another cb to form a partnership with maybe that's jozo if he can keep himself fit. The one thing Sutton is right is the quality of football but the players must take a major share of the blame for that IMO. I honestly believe Ronny will win the double this season and then depending on who the board recruits I think he will make at least some form of Europe.
