I know he's on duty with Scotland this week, but is that the only reason that Armstrong hasn't signed a new deal yet? Along with Roberts, I think it's our most important bit of business for the summer. Any idea ed?

Plenty of good ones to pick from. Loved Griffiths against aberdeen at start of season. Touch by a defender and smashed post and in.

Dembele at Ibrox. We started poorly and that got us back on track.

As many of you have probably noticed I don't have an aweful lot of time for EPL teams and they trying to allude that they are best in the world . For some reason I have always had a bit of a soft spot for Liverpool.
However their actions this week I feel are deplorable. It appears they were leading bidder for Southampton 's Virgil . The Staints protested that L'pool had made an illegal approach for Virgil and reported L'pool to EFA and EPL . Liverpool apologised for this and said they had no further interest in Virgil. Now Virgil is still a Southampton player with the hopes of his dream move to Liverpool dashed, all because one of the biggest teams inEPL don't the rules or else can't be bothered abiding by them .
Not good enough, they aren't buying a ton of spuds, Virgil is human and has feelings .

{Ed007's Note - Liverpool have a history of doing this even from before Rodgers was in charge. Fulham are refusing to sell them Ryan Sessegnon after the way they behaved during their attempt to sign Clint Dempsey. There's the tapping up of a 12-year-old Stoke City kid that has seen Liverpool banned from signing Academy players from other English clubs. They also had two written warnings last year over illegal approaches made to Bundesliga players last summer and were warned by UEFA after multiple fines last time they played in Europe and there's a potentially embarrassing court case to deal with - although they may now try to avoid that by putting their hand in their pocket to make it go away.}

Its a shame that a club like Liverpool with very large support and a successful history even if it is over 30 yrs since they won the league in England, but it is no way to treat prospective players . The rules are not that tight and rigid that they havn't enough wriggle room that they can't keep within it .
Surely this is nothing to do with Rodger who was part of a Commitee involved in bringing in players, Rodgers is over 18 mths away from Liverpool and if they have any balls they and their fans will lay the blame at they who did wrong .

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - It was Rodgers that Fulham reported to the FA regarding Dempsey. As I said it's been going on for years and he's as guilty as anyone who has been at the club, Chris.
From Steven Gerrard's book:

"I had an unofficial role at the club, trying to persuade some great players to join Liverpool. It was the same ritual every summer. The club would let me know which long-shot target they had in mind and then ask me to contact him. They thought that a request to consider moving to Liverpool would have more impact coming from me.
Brendan asked me to take a crack at trying to talk Toni Kroos into signing for Liverpool. He smiled when I said we’d be p***ing into the wind with this one...I knew Real Madrid were gearing up to make Bayern Munich an offer and so I felt a bit awkward when I texted Kroos. The German was on his way to winning the World Cup with his country and Real were the champions of Europe.
Some of the best footballers in the world can also be the most respectful. Kroos didn’t make me feel like I was a total idiot. But, of course, he would soon sign for Real Madrid. We had a nice little exchange of texts and I said well done and good luck."

Unless Celts say we have signed someone everything is just rumours. We need to get moving I no it's like a game of chess I hate all the fake news. Roberts first. Trust the Celtic money men to do gd deals. Christie is a gd player looks to be getting better but 1.2 million and Christie don't think so. Aberdeen will pay properly for Christie and as for Hayes he's gd and unselfish works hard and is fit plus has goals in him I would take him over forrest.

Christie was only another loan deal. not a permanent move.

We are discussing stupid rumours, there may or may not be an ounce of truth . When does the transfer window actually open and when do the real players return from holiday . Why this impatience .

Looking at the age wee Tierney has worked his way into the Scotland first team he could end up with 100 caps if he stays fit.

We'll need to get to a few tournaments for that to happen I reckon.

With friendlies and qualifying he could do it. He's got about 15 years worth of football if all goes well for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jun 2017 21:01:12
If he manages 15 years at or near the top he will really be unusual . After another 10-12 years we might have a clear picture, much too early yet.

I see the mssm are wetting themselves over Liverpool dropping interest in VVD. They are already discussing how much we have "lost" on the deal.

Anything to obscure CW pissing himself laughing at his result.

FFS we can't lose what we never had.
No doubt VVD has outgrown Southampton and will move.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

08 Jun 2017 11:15:05
Celtic will get their money fae vvd deal because he is definitely moving to a bigger club.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2017 12:11:43
There were clubs interested long before Liverpool, If anything this nonsense with Liverpool has just given Virgil even more exposure. He is good enough to play for any of the top 4 teams in Europe.

Agree1 Disagree3

08 Jun 2017 12:26:09
For me Sergio Ramos is the best CB in Europe but after him Bonucci I can't really think of many whose all-round games are noticably better than Virgil. He's a total class act and I hope he goes on to great things. I'm honestly surprised Barcelona haven't had a look as their defence needs ripped up.

Agree0 Disagree3

08 Jun 2017 14:40:11
Love the way Ramos plays kev, with his heart on his sleeve and 100% every time but VVD is a much better player IMO. i can't think of any defender who's better in Europe than the big man! The 2 from juve are good and the boy alderwerield from Spurs is good to but for me Virgil is the total package! I'd be stunned if your real Barcas and bayerns aren't interested in this guy! He can do better than Liverpool.

Agree2 Disagree2

08 Jun 2017 16:05:21
It's Ramos' goals that put him up there for me Lh86. CL finals, the lot, a true leader which VVD isn't quite just yet.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2017 16:46:07
Barca wouldn't buy vvd due to his ridiculous price tag
Think he will end up at Man City or Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2017 17:32:52
VVD will move this summer. I still think the move could be to Liverpool but last week of season if he is still available.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jun 2017 19:00:33
ha ha guys, bigot in a suit was on the phone to me last night saying same thing how we had "lost £6m"
I told him nobody at Celtic is worried as because of the sell on clause, if he does not move until next season Celtic STILL get percentage.
